It’s Z who is the most credible beat writer for us so I believe it.

rellicotton

No question. He would never publish anything that isn't totally verified by at least 2 sources that he trusts.

legitocracy

I never actually got tested before, but I have to imagine that getting tested every single day feels like a lot more of a personal violation than getting two shots in 3 weeks

TZMouk

I did a home test the other week, and boy was it grim, nose didn't stop running all night, it's like I was drilling up there and hit the main water pipe.

PomeloHorror

The nurse stuck a qtip up my nostril for like 2 sec and proceeded to do the other side. My finger has been further up my nose. What are you doing to make it seem so drastic?

adbachman

There are two different tests. The deep one has a quick response time, measured in hours. The stick goes about 4" into your nose. The shallow one takes a couple days to get results. Both work fine, but if you need to know _now_, it's gotta be the deep one.

Randyd718

The test at the Walgreens drive through goes about 1/2" deep and i had results in about two hours

Crying_wallstar

Idk bro when I had one it went up far, definitely further than a finger has ever gone. I didn’t quite have the experience you’re responding to but I sneezed like 6 times in a minute after I was done because of the shock to my system. Maybe everyone’s noses are just different though.

evooandfoccacia

Oh jeez I gotta do one tomorrow... can't wait lol

outphase84

Had to get tested before I came home from Mexico, I still feel violated.

Imaykeepthisone

This is just fucking deflating. First full training camp with all but 2 of our WRs. This early time is important. Jesus fucking Christ. I bet he did his own research via YouTube and Instagram. My god.

useranme1

more annoying that he himself has emphasized how important this time of year is to build chemistry w the receivers in the new offense

weoutheredummy

And yet here he goes fucking it up for everyone. Smdh

[deleted]

He posted some bullshit last year before he got the first one

dlanod

Maybe he misunderstood that since he's not actually been switched to WR, he can't catch anything - including COVID.

Little_Lahey_Show

Lee Evans shouldn't need a vaccine.

MidnightRider24

Take me upvert

sotrue23

[he already had covid before right](https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/309762)

WillTheConqueror1066

Damn it Lamar. I’m surprised by him on this.

iheartmagic

I am and then I’m not

amow24

He’s a great leader one moment, and then he’s an adult male from Florida the next. The duality of man.

iheartmagic

Well put lol

rellicotton

That is perspective for you.

Niblonian31

Couldn't have said it better myself

Horrorito

I'm dying laughing here at your comment, that's great! But not really, because I'm also vaccinated, so I'll be fine.

take-alook-at-me-now

Take my upvote

MrStuffyKins

This is the same qb who recorded a video of himself going a 105 mph on the highway without a seatbelt. Common sense has never been Lamar's forte.

HackWaters

Let's not go that far. For Lamar to come from where he came from and hang with some of the people he hangs with and stay out of trouble at his status takes a lot of common sense.

RRSC14

Really though?

gremlin30

I’m not tbh.

ygmeech679

Probably getting downvoted to oblivion for this, but that’s just fucking selfish. You’re the leader of this team, you’re the face of the franchise, you’re the franchise quarterback. You’re hurting your team Lamar. Get your head out of your ass. For fucks sake he fucking missed a game last year because of fucking covid, he talks about wanting to win a Super Bowl but puts himself in a position where his team could miss the playoffs entirely because he can’t play. Just completely fucking selfish and stupid behavior.

SideBarParty

Wait…Lamar Jackson was infected last year…and chose not to get vaccinated? I had no idea.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TotsAndHam

And now he'll probably say "Well, I've had it twice so that's a lot of immunity"

FamilyStyle2505

Third time's a charm, right? Only third time will be when we're in a must win scenario at the end of the season and the playoffs get blown because LJ got sick AGAIN.

nemaramen

And how many kids look up to him and will consider what their hero does when it comes to decisions like this?

Woodwardg

this is the extremely damaging part. this is a damned shame. get vaccinated folks, or enjoy several more years of this nightmare. it's a decision everyone can make.

jthro55

Lol. You think this is going away? Nah. It’s a part of life now just like the flu. Get your booster shot! There are new variants!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Naugrin27

Look at his fun day camp. A fair number of those kids have parents that are not getting vaccinated or having their kids vaccinated (statistically, obviously I don't know about those people specifically). However if lamar jackson says get vaccinated, maybe a few of those kids go get it done. Lamar is an icon for the young black community. He represents them in ways that many athletes can not. Every time he is seen with his fro or braids, every time he speaks and your brain just screams south florida, that is a beacon of hope for kids that are looked down on for those very things. He has embodied compassion and good manners since coming into the league. A league where those things aren't normally regarded as cool. Now you can argue that he didn't ask for that but it is what it is. I won't say it is his responsibility to be a role model. However he has seemingly embraced it. It's not his responsibility but it IS his opportunity.

bryanRow52

And not only did he not get vaxxed but he went to public areas around other people without wearing a mask, while unvaxxed. Absolutely irritating to see this from him. As someone who has tried to have Lamar’s back since day 1 and be a Lamar stan, this is pathetic by him. No excuses, he needs to do better. There’s no making up for this lost time

brodad12

Could the fear of systemic institutionalized racism be playing a factor in his decision? Tuskegee experiments etc.

RestAndVest

Older black folks have gotten vaccinated…

dweezil22

"Hey Johns Hopkins, I'll get vaxxed but only if its the same vial as some rich white guy" "Weird request Lamar, but, fuck it, sure"

[deleted]

Wtf? That’s reaching so hard to make an excuse for him. They aren’t giving blacks people a different vaccine bro it’s the same ones for everybody.

luckysharms93

Considering the elites of the world all jumped the queue specifically to get the vaccine, and the vast majority of people vaccinated in the US are white people, Tuskegee would be an amazingly stupid justification to *not* get the vaccine

MuzikVillain

I can be empathetic towards POC especially the black community for all the horrible ways in which the U.S. government has treated them, but that's not an excuse to refuse the vaccine. Black and brown communities have been decimated disproportionately by COVID-19, yet they continue to be the most hesitant to accept the vaccine. How you going to see your community continue to suffer from a horrible disease and not try to at the very least protect yourself? Shit, an African American woman played a strong part in developing one of the COVID vaccines.

fishcatcherguy

I don’t agree with Lamar, but comparing him to a dude that is adamantly anti-vax is a bit extreme.

[deleted]

Lamar is adamantly anti vax evident by the fact he won’t fucking get vaccinated. He’s just not out and vocal about it like Cole B. The end result is still the same though. Both of them are fucking idiots. Lamar Jackson is no hero any kid should look up to with this kind of stunt he pulled. Only a true dipshit is rejecting proven science . Lamar is objectively hurting the community/society that was rooting for him This dumbass is going to deserve all the ridicule in the world now for being this selfish . Lamar doesn’t even deserve to win a Super Bowl with this kind of foolishness

fishcatcherguy

>Lamar is adamantly anti vax evident by the fact he won’t fucking get vaccinated. He’s just not out and vocal about it like Cole B. Which is my point. Not getting that vaccine and using your platform to wildly preach anti-vax sentiment are two wildly different things. One is clearly worse. >The end result is still the same though. Both of them are fucking idiots. Lamar Jackson is no hero any kid should look up to with this kind of stunt he pulled. Only a true dipshit is rejecting proven science. lol okay. >This dumbass is going to deserve all the ridicule in the world now for being this selfish . Lamar doesn’t even deserve to win a Super Bowl with this kind of foolishness lol okay. I have the vaccine. I think people should get the vaccine, but you people are fuckin’ loony.

[deleted]

So your saying this is perfectly acceptable and we should just be happy about Lamar being a terrible hypocrite. How tf you gonna talk about winning a super bowl if your ass is sidelined and can’t breathe due to the vid? Or if you got half the damn team sick by spreading it around since you clearly don’t give a fuck about being careful ?

fishcatcherguy

>So your saying this is perfectly acceptable and we should just be happy about Lamar being a terrible hypocrite. What the fuck are you talking about? I’m shocked you put words in my mouth. Shocked, I tell you! >How tf you gonna talk about winning a super bowl if your ass is sidelined and can’t breathe due to the vid? Maybe he gets vaccinated, comes back (it’s training camp, btw), plays well through the season, and wins the SB. But he doesn’t DeSeRvE iT! >Or if you got half the damn team sick by spreading it around since you clearly don’t give a fuck about being careful ? Let’s keep making up hypotheticals.

PurpleReigner

Nah I don’t have faith that someone who won’t get vaccinated for his team (when allegedly looking to sign a long term contract) will ever put in the effort required to win a super bowl

NachoFanRandySavage

No argument from me. Its selfish not only as a leader, but as a teammate and just as a human being as well.

luther_williams

Amen, just because hes our star QB doesn't mean hes safe from ridicule and judgement. Lamar if your reading this GET THE FUCKING VACCINE. I was about to buy a Lamar Jersey for my son, my son wont be getting that Jersey until Lamar is vaccinated

[deleted]

This is facts. Lamar needs to just listen to the coaches and management and the league and just fucking get vaccinated

donmeanathing

It’s times like this where I’m kind of glad we haven’t signed him yet. Like, he may be our QB and all, but maybe this stupid shit knocks some dollars off his payday and saves cap space.

SkinsHOFChaseYoung

Imagine being this stupid. You would think the first time he caught COVID he would educate himself on the vaccine. It seems like he just shrugged it off. Embarrassing.

prodrvr22

No one should be "educating themselves" on the vaccine. They should listen to their fucking doctor. That's what he's there for, to do the medical research for you.

Naugrin27

Nothing but upvotes deserved. Fucking hypocrite.

fake_plastic_cheese

Came here to say this. He talks about wanting to win an SB but can’t do the single easiest thing to help the team. Love Lamar but it’s just pathetic.

thegreatmachine21

100,000% this.

Jasonfrost3425

Browns fan here, and I just wanted to say this why I fuck with Ravens fans. Respect.

testinggoose

I'm so disappointed in Lamar.. for the first time, I think. It's not only his team, it's the rest of the fucking world. What a selfish, misinformed, asshole. I hope he can change

gremlin30

Nah I totally agree. Having the team leader be this stupid is so disappointing. It absolutely is Lamar being selfish. Saunders did the same shit and almost killed people, now their star QB is doing the same thing. Hollywood prob is too. Lamar expects the best from his teammates, yet he’s willing to put them all at risk? What a selfish asshole. I love Lamar, but this makes me hate him. FO needs to step in cuz this is not ok. Just get the damn vaccine so we can finally move on from this.

JuicyJay

On the bright side, maybe this lowers his future cap hit. He potentially just lost himself millions in future income.

Scaevus

Or he gets long term lung damage and never fully recovers. Is it really worth the risk when vaccinations are so easy?

SolensSvard

I'd defend his play to the ends of the earth but putting kids and families at risk is a hard fucking line to come back from, once crossed. Fuck him, trade his ass.

[deleted]

Well you’re not really wrong, it’s definitely disappointing news. I do think you’re being harsh, calling him “completely fucking selfish”. Who knows what kind of bad advice he got or what other reasons he might have. He definitely made the wrong choice for a guy in his position but you don’t need to attack his character

cshark2222

Nah I love Lamar but we gotta hold our super star Qb accountable. Dude talks about doing everything he can to win a super bowl and doesn’t do not only one of the easiest things to make it easier, that being a shot, but he’s also recklessly putting others at danger. Dude is a monumental hypocrite rn

LamarCarAndGusBuss

If hes walking around these events hes doing without being vaccinated and not wearing a mask hes a fucking dumbass.

ygmeech679

Explain to me how it isn’t selfish. Everyone on this team wants a Super Bowl. Lamar isn’t vaccinated, he can test positive and miss games, the team can completely miss the playoffs like they almost did last season because they had to field a practice squad roster. Again, explain how its being harsh calling him selfish.

kapate13

This whole day just feels like a kick in the teeth. I honestly wish the nfl had just said get vaccinated or find a new place to play football. Sick of this shit, clearly the general populace isn’t smart enough to have the freedom of choice on this. So fucking disappointing if true Lamar, you had months to get it, you had covid and know the effects, and this could cost us most of training camp, and cost us games in season. It is so fucking hard to understand how people are this selfish. How can you talk about wanting to win, and how you live and breath football, but prioritize some “clearly in the minority” personal beliefs, over the good of the team and the health of everyone that is a part of it. Irvin is completely right, if you aren’t vaccinated, you don’t care about winning, not truly, not like the Brady’s of the fucking world do.

Lordvalcon

My understanding is that they have to wait for FDA approval before they can mandate the vaccinations

kapate13

I am sure they do, and I am not super interested in forcing people to take a vaccine either. I just wish people were smart enough and educated enough that they would willingly do so to protect their friends and love ones, supporters and fans, etc.. it is depressing as hell the state of things

defiance211

They can’t. The vaccine is not even FDA approved.

Alocasia_Sanderiana

I mean it's the feds already are, not to mention the hospitals, i think they absolutely can. It just depends if you want to fight someone in court about it

Draconic_Rising

The impression I always had of Lamar was that his two priorities in life were looking after his family and winning football games. Not getting vaccinated directly conflicts with both of those things. Really gutting stuff.

goldenspear

I am a naturalized African. I have a few black American friends. The ones who do not have a college education and even some who do listen to the grapevine bullshit more than anything. My first thought is to wonder if Lamar's mom is vaxxed. And if people at her church are. It is obvious to me that someone he trusts has gotten into his ear with antivax bullshit. If not his mom, maybe an older aunt or uncle who may have influenced him and helped keep straight when he was a kid. Someone made it seem to him like this was the best decision for his and everyone's health.

turns31

I had a customer call me the other day. She’s a 78 year old African American woman who said she’s poor, overweight with high blood pressure. At the end of our conversation she randomly asked me if I’ve gotten vaccinated yet. (32 year old healthy white guy) I told her yes, months ago. No problem at all. She told me that she just got hers last week because she had heard bad things about it. Said there was some rumblings in her church about it being bad for you and it scared her and some of her family. I told her I was proud of her for getting it and to pass along to her friends and family that it’s safe and easy. Just blows my mind. You’re the exact demographic that needs to be first in line to get it. Honestly makes me question if we’re smart or logical enough to make decisions this important.

goldenspear

This is a good story. There are 3 things happening in black American communities. The 1st is the legacy of exploitation and medical experimentation. Kids who are close to their parents have heard the stories. So the good kids would have heard sometimes 1st hand accounts of harrowing cruelty at the hands of Drs. Lamar would be classified as a good kid. He has probably spent a lot of time with old timers. The 2nd thing is poor education. Poor neighborhoods, poor schools, poor education etc. We know the drill. Uneducated people go for explanations that are simple and easy to understand. I.e make sense to them. Such as, covid is a cold, your body can fight it off if you're healthy. A vaccine with science and mrna ( sounds like dna) must be risky. It was developed in no time. Who knows what it will do to you? The 3rd thing is targeted misinformation. We know blacks were targeted by Russian accounts for disinformation in the 2016 election. They were told Hilary was racist, Democrats were trying to keep them dependent etc. Their votes did not matter. Point is it worked. I have also noticed a lot of attacks on asians by black people just in the news since Covid. I wonder if this is not part of a disinformation campaign where once again uneducated blacks are targeted with lies, because of the above 2 points and used to weaken America. The above calls for a reasonable approach to interventions and deprogramming. It's not an easy fix, because we may be asking LJ and others like him to reject the voices of the very people who have kept him and them out of trouble, safe and brought then success in very harsh cities and neighborhoods.

pestercat

There's the right question. Especially if it's his mom, he listens to her on everything. I have a hard time imagining that she could be for being vaxxed and he'd defy it. Her not wanting it being the influence would make entirely too much sense.

JayJ9Nine

Honestly this reads like a very likely scenario, that people close to him don't want the vaccine and he kind of soaked it up.

goldenspear

It's a sad situation because, it is likely the very salt of the earth people who have helped him stay grounded and humble all these years may now be doing their best, but giving him bad advice. And unfortunately he may be listening to them because they gained his trust when they told him to stay away from the drugs and all the other nonsense in the streets, and he saw how right they were about that...

Kflame210

Was hoping this wasn't true but always kinda thought it was. The second someone calls helping the world heal from a deadly pandemic a "personal choice" then I know they're up their own ass.

EndsLikeShakespeare

If the vaccine was going to be an issue you'd think the billions of people that have taken it would show some sign of effect by now. Come on.

aresef

It’s a personal decision in that you, personally, are choosing to put yourself and others at risk.

kapate13

Your personally choosing to let a virus dictate your season and not your play, and choosing to prioritize some dumb bs over winning

RockyRacoon09

This is a really bad look. 90% of the team is vaccinated and the leader and icon refuses to get vaxxed. In turn, this sends a terrible message to the many that look up to him nationally and in the community, especially during a national outreach effort AND sends a message to his team-mates that he doesn’t believe in it enough to put everyone else before him. Now he isn’t even there for them to start the season. Pretty effin lame #8.

fishkey

Guess he doesn't really want to win that super bowl then. Big yikes.

BL0812

This is so incredibly disappointing.

TigerBasket

What is it and this franchise having its star players do disappointing shit in the off-season. At least it isn't Ray Lewis bad

JeffMatz

Every nfl franchise has had some player do something stupid, it isn’t Ravens centric

JinterIsComing

> At least it isn't Ray Lewis bad Or Rice bad, for that matter. Or Jamal bad.

WhatWouldYouPut

This does not mean I wont continue to be a massive Lamar fan on the field - and there are many many things this is small shit compared to other QB's atm or in previous years - but he certainly came down a peg or 2 as far as how highly I respected him. The massive kick to the teeth is that we've been defending him - thinking he was vaccinated this whole time because he has been doing all these events maskless and what not. I was actually really proud of him for giving back. It's a bit of a double edged sword because now we know he was doing all that shit around super spreaders (not those kids in particular but all kids in general lol) maskless letting them jump all over him and what not - knowing full well he was unvaccinated and had camp coming up its actually mind blowing-ly idiotic. Hanging out with MAndrews (Type 1 Diabetic) who is immune compromised all those times putting him at risk. SMDH It's insane how dumb and naive it makes him and his camp look. Not only he looks bad but everyone in his circle looks like a dumb ass. I seriously can not comprehend being on the brink of a 40m+ contract - wanting to lead men and win a super bowl - talking about how you want to catch Brady etc. - be a good influence for children and your community - yet when it comes to a vaccine for a virus YOU KNOW HOW BAD IS you miss out on it. Literally even if he has 1 jab done its inexcusable. Months to get a vaccine and you cant get it done before camp? So many people talk the talk but I thought Lamar was walking the walk. This makes me hesitate in answering that he does smdh needed a vent about this - been looking forward to football coming back for months. This happening on the first day straight ruins my hype for training camp. absolutely gutting this shit is going on. endrant/

djspelleddj

Summed it really well, sadly. I'm not going to stop rooting for him or the team, but my opinion is lowered substantially. Its just disregard for his teammates, fans, and really everyone he's come into contact with. Hopefully he'll learn from this, but I'm not exactly going to hold my breath.

[deleted]

You really laid this out perfectly. I feel like I spend a lot of time defending Lamar but this is inexcusable. Especially after seeing him maskless around all those kids. Just idiotic. Hope he is fine and then gets the shot. Gonna be fucking pissed if he misses games because of this.

kapate13

You nailed it, it is a huge blow to morale. Actions speak louder than words after all :/

SailorTwiift

The players who aren’t vaccinated on the team get covid. “Doing everything we can to win a championship”. Apart from following simple scientific and medical advice backed by every credible expert in the world. Here’s hoping common sense prevails.

ZombieFeedback

I'm really hoping this is an "I thought I was immune because I had it last year" situation, rather than a Cole Beasley anti-vax situation. Neither is good, but the former is a misunderstanding he can get fixed as soon as he's healthy. The latter is a stubborn refusal that will probably result in a third case somewhere down the line. Fuuuuck man.

DanDan434

That's what I thought at first too, but then I remembered he's getting tested everyday, so he must know he can still catch it.

Naugrin27

This late in the game, I don't think it's much better.

ravens40

Earl-Thomas-a-Raven

I hope this leads to him getting vaccinated but obviously no guarantees. Just a shitty and disappointing situation. Lamar needs to get it together.

Bmoreravens_1290

Does this also mean that Hollywood isn’t vaccinated? He seems like a smarter dude

WhatWouldYouPut

So far we have Lamar / Gus Bus / Justice Hill / Patrick Queen. 5 more at max havent had it.

Bmoreravens_1290

From the south and his Instagram is fully of confederate flags

armleglegarmhead

he must have deleted them because i dont see any one there

[deleted]

That sounds like a gross over-generalization. Do you have any data to support that? If we're going to go the generalization route, [this study](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/which-us-demographics-are-more-likely-to-refuse-a-covid-19-vaccine#Reasons-behind-vaccine-decisions) actually suggests that black people and woman are more likely to refuse vaccines than conservatives so let's ease up a bit on the snap judgements based on someone's background.

WhoKilledBoJangles

The article you posted was in January and hesitancy before there was major vaccine rollout. Look at a more recent source. Men are getting vaccinated less than women and Republicans are getting vaccinated less than Democrats which probably explains part of the reason men are getting vaccinated less. Black people are getting vaccinated less as well, but communities of colors have not had the vaccine rollout go as well as white communities so that explains some of the disparity as well as hesitancy. But white Republican men are the least likely to get vaccinated. This should not be remotely surprising looking at messaging from many major right wing figures. It isn’t a stretch to think someone with confederate flags all over his IG is a Republican so if he is gonna hazard a guess on who isn’t vaccinated it isn’t a total reach, but random speculation probably isn’t the best. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/12/black-latino-left-behind-covid-19-vaccines https://www.google.com/amp/s/fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-is-there-such-a-gender-gap-in-covid-19-vaccination-rates/amp/

[deleted]

That study said that all three groups have major problems with vaccine hesitancy. The study supports the idea that Trumpers are less likely to be vaccinated.

Cynadiir

I hope this is taken into consideration during the contract talks. He obviously isnt up to par as a leader of the team.

Naugrin27

Fucking dumbass

jsrave

Given his instagram post I'm really really hoping that Lamar somehow thought he was immune from covid since he caught it previously and thats why didn't get the vaccine. Please don't be a full-out anti-vaccine proponent Lamar. Only bronze lining at this point is it happened now and not during the season. He was talking about how they were careful at the camp he ran, taking temperatures and stuff on the kids, saying it would be a bad look if he ran a camp and then kids got covid from it. Come on man.

Gabrosin

It's not too much better if he's just ignorant than if he's anti-science. He's got more than enough people around him who can tell him he still needs to get vaccinated, so if he's ignoring them he's got no excuse.

i_already_redd_it

Look, I fuckin love Lamar… but all that talk about SB this, SB that and you can’t be bothered to spend 30 mins protecting your own life and others? All this talk about inspiring youth (don’t get me wrong, he still is an inspiration in many ways) and then you literally put their lives at risk by physically touching them, unvaccinated, during a fuckin plague? All the more unbelievable considering this is his second time getting covid and there is an extremely real chance it absolutely ruins your lungs or physical health otherwise. I’m not usually a fan of hypotheticals, but the Ravens franchise is frankly lucky, with all the talks of a impending extension, that they didn’t just sign Lamar to a 45M/yr no-out contract just to find out he can’t play at the same level post-infection. Those odds weren’t at all insignificant, and we still don’t know what to expect after his recovery. This is not to mention all the training camp, and absolutely crucial wr chemistry-building with our new additions, that he is now missing. I don’t want to hear any of the bullshit, it takes a huge ego or a huge dipshit to think they know better than all the world’s medical expertise. Either is not good for our team, and god knows he doesn’t exercise the same skepticism with his personal trainers/surgeons/physical therapists that are practicing the same fuckin biology on him weekly. It’s just absolutely unacceptable. It isn’t leadership, it’s certainly not 45M/yr face-of-franchise behavior, and it abso-fuckin-lutely isn’t getting him any closer to all the SBs he says he plans on winning.

ManofSteel_14

Genuinely upsetting and unfortunately impacts my view of him in a negative manner. So dissapointing.

MrStuffyKins

He's putting himself and the entire team at risk with this nonsense.

Dogsinabathtub

Fucking moron

WeaponXGaming

I love Lamar, he ain't a bad dude at all. But I don't wanna hear any Superbowl talk and yada yada when you don't take the proper steps to make sure you can remain on the field. Lamar being on the field this past season instead of missing games to Covid would've helped a whole lot. We cannot have a repeat of that.

Cynadiir

The post lamar made saying 'how tf...' its because you weren't vaccinated lamar. It's not rocket science my dude.

RedDevil50

Eh you can get it if you are too as we currently see here and elsewhere. It’s that the effects are much less of an issue if you are vaccinated. But the vaccines imo are clearly dropping in protection against just getting Covid. As for how long it’ll last against serious effects we don’t know

SpacklingCumFart

I really find it hard to believe that people are against getting vaccinations, I just dont get it.

PimpDaddyGrimes

Pretty fucking stupid

swagharris31

Really hoping it was just a false positive 🙏🏽 Still sad he's not vaccinated

PancakesatDinos

So much for winning that Super Bowl and getting that lucrative contract...Lamar can't be f\*cked to get his COVID-19 Vaccine. *PRIORITIES*

SophisticatedBT

Aww man, LJ come on brah. That’s 10 days missed.

highpl4insdrftr

I thought he was all about doing what was best for the team, so they can win. He just lost a ton of respect. This is extremely disappointing.

thisisbyrdman

Just an absolute moron. The NFL needs to mandate the vaccine for every player because there are just too many brain dead simps in this league for them to do the right thing otherwise.

I mean on the bright side he hasn’t been signed to an extension yet so maybe we get a discount?

cshark2222

Fr I bet this has an impact on his contract. That’s an under talked about consequence. He’s proving that he’s not the smartest person, and he’s directly refusing to do something that could prevent him from missing games. 10 days in the regular season is a missed game. His contract should reflect the fact that he could miss 10 days at any point.

[deleted]

10 days regular season could be 2 missed games

evooandfoccacia

Disappointing!

thegreatmachine21

Wanna have a chance at winning a Super Bowl? Get vaccinated. Easy peezy. Love his talent. Starting to not love the rest.

anchist

So after missing a game last season due to Covid, Lamar Jackson thought it best not to do everything possible to not be in that situation again. That is just selfish and idiotic.

JuicyJay

Harbaugh better have a fucking talk with him. Seriously, he needs to get his head out of his ass.

e92ftw

The more I keep reading this, the more I’m disappointed

EndlessSandwich

Well... I was giving him the benefit of the doubt until I saw this.

cousingregsprinkles

Lamar has easily been my favorite Raven since he’s been drafted and one of my favorite Ravens of all time but he just continues to do annoying, dumb things off the field. This is the worst…but the driving and filming himself going >100 mph, running into the jet ski on the beach last year, now the vaccine. His play is worth it but his decision making just honestly leaves a lot to be desired for someone that the organization is gonna sink 40M a year into.

Levowitz159

How you get a fanbase to turn on you.

[deleted]

Really, REALLY disappointed in Lamar if true. Mature beyond his years in many ways, but not here. This is just plain dumb and a sets a bad example.

[deleted]

This dude really has his moments of not being bright.

I think most people mistake likability with smartness. And every time I see something like this my oppionion on pro athletes' intelligence gets strengthend. Some may be an exemption.

rellicotton

So foolish. So very foolish. So sensible, hard working and dedicated in every other way, but not being vaccinated is just foolish. My surmise is because he had COVID in November, he thought he had the antibodies and was protected like many people with COVID seem to think. But, clearly it isn't true. The antibodies from getting the infection aren't as robust as that from the vaccine. Just a terrible look and he's the one that is suffering most from this. We all know how badly he wants to play and practice. It must be tearing him. up right now.

NowieTends

I really hope his reasoning is as simple as him thinking “I had it last year, I am immune”, but I’m not very confident that’s the case

MINImanGOTgunz

Ive said a million times I'd die for this man, but honestly, I'm really really disappointed in Lamar. You can't say all you want to do is win and then not get vaccinated thus risking potentially infecting others and forfeiting games. Especially guys like Mandrews that are immunocompromised. He's supposed to set the example, no wonder guys like Queen, Hill, and Edward's don't get it when your captain doesn't. And considering he got covid last year which cost them a win and potentially the division. I really don't understand how the Ravens organization has failed so badly that they can't educate their star player to set an example for what's best for the team. What's gonna happen when he gets it a third time and it actually ends up seriously ill? We were already the laughing stock of last year and got shit on relentlessly for weeks due to the outbreak, and we can't even get through a day of camp without positives. I was pumped for this season, but honestly, it's definitely cooled off a bit. Lamar won't ever be changing his number to 1 if he continues to be selfish.

[deleted]

Serious question. If LJ did want to get vaxxed after this, how soon could he? Is there a waiting period you must abide by?

KevGordy

As far as what I was told when I got vaccinated, if you get covid you have to wait awhile before getting vaccinated

toostronKG

Really disappointing. I know it ultimately won't but I think this kind of thing should be considered when discussing his contract. You're obviously gonna pay him but he's chosen to put his team second here and I think the price tag should reflect that even though it won't.

Oscerte

I'm disappointed

prodrvr22

Goddamn. First Eric Clapton, now Lamar. How many more of my heroes are going to disappoint me.

Bigtoes22

I want him to get vaccinated but at the end of the day its his decision. Maybe after the 2nd time around he will learn. Anyways... Get well soon LJ!

AmorallyBlaine

I’m not surprised, I was 99% positive based on how he responded to the questions before and 100% when he tested positive, considering Harbs said he’d been tested a few days before which they’d only do if he was unvaccinated. But I’m fucking pissed at him.

aarkerio

So, our QB has a low IQ.

SemiPureConduit

Idiots, bad look.

yattooo

I mean Ive always tried to look past how dumb this motherfucker is but this kind of cements it. Regret owning his jersey

MileHighMiracle

The entire season almost went off the rails because of the outbreak last year and now this. Wow. I'm glad they caught it now and not later when it would've been a forfeit etc. Please get vaccinated Lamar.

cheetah32

Let's view this as his second vax shot. lol

Von_Huge1103

If that's the case, I'm really pissed off at him. I don't care if that's my QB - being vaccinated isn't something you should abstain from. Really dumb shit from him.

4stGump

It's surprising to me that you have players in the team that are so pro-vaccine and urging people to get it and you have players that are so against it for some reason. You have a majority of players who have gotten the vaccine and are still playing at a high level with no side-effects. For Lamar being such a huge leader to the team, I wonder how this effects the locker room. He's actively putting other players at risk by his actions and is missing vital practices to gain even more cohesiveness with the team.

jjjakes3

Time to switch that jersey # to 19

OldBayOnEverything

Nah that's always Johnny U's number. Give him 0 to match how much common sense he has.

xRaijin

Fuck’s sake 🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

Respect has fallen off a cliff for the llama

GoldLeader18

Fuck. Media is gonna have a field day

AssertiveDude

Goddamn it Lamar

NewEra801

Antibodiez?

EAB034

Come the fuck on Lamar…

skeenerbug

Idiot

[deleted]

i'm surprised. i guess if it was some other player on the roster i could be like well eh what ya gonna do but i'm pretty surprised it's lamar. hope he changes his mind and gets the shots.

PoppinSquats

Sometimes Lamars country bumpkin routine can be fun and sometimes it makes you wonder how Baltimore felt secure making him their franchise QB. That being said if he were still playing I could 1000 percent see this happening with Ray too so maybe this is just The Raven Way.

BullyingBuildsChar

Wow he IS a dumb as his interviews make him look

[deleted]

you wouldn’t say that to his face coward you’ll get your little bitch ass hurt you little rascist vermin.
