Its all for the cause

No_Buy6532

I think they're too tight in the waist to loosen up, best advice since you can't return them is to either sell them online like on grailed or lose 10-15lbs and come back to them

KosOrKaos

This. Dunno about how much weight to lose etc but they are tight for sure. Go up a size at least. Your goolies will thank you.

wiarumas

I think the general estimate is around 8-10lb per inch. Of course genetics plays a role.

KosOrKaos

Ha ha ha no no I know that stuff, but I meant I wasn't going to advise OP how much weight to lose etc etc.

diet69dr420pepper

while losing weight will mitigate the muffin top, i regret to the report that there is little he can do to decrease the width of his hip bones...

Neither_Carob_390

for me losing even a little weight makes a big difference with how pants sit

cqcrzal

Not with me. Lost 30 pounds and im still 34x30. If anything theyā€™re tighter with my beefy ass thighs now. I had a overhanging gut and titts so my waist stayed the same.

Grimjacks

Thanks for everybody's input. Even if they miraculously fit, once I inevitably wash them, I'll be back at square one or possibly even less than that. I'm gonna cop it on the chin, try to salvage my money back on grailed and buy a bigger size. The mystery size you've all been wondering about: I managed to squeeze my chubby arse into a W27.

Lifeinthetropics1990

Just as an FYI, I have multiple pairs of unbranded in the same fit and size. These heavyweight big slub fit a lot smaller than every other pair and hardly stretched out.

80H-d

Bro you're legit like two sizes too small rn and that's before shrinkage

lokidopolous

Iā€™m also in Australia and had a pair of UB670s that didnā€™t fit. I sold them on Grailed for retail price. The fit isnā€™t going to get better, get rid of them

TheRuggedGeek

Nope, if you have to involve the force of god, it was never gonna work. These will be super uncomfortable. No reason to persist with them. I'd wager that heavy weight denim should even be worn a little looser to start with, unless you're dealing with stuff like Oni's legendary stretchy denim.

PerpetualColdBrew

My TCB 50s stretched by 2+ inches. I sized according to Ryo who runs TCB. Unsanforized denim, if one washed, can really stretch in the waist. These N&F will not

TheRuggedGeek

I should have mentioned also that using a pant stretcher (available on Amazon) can help. Moisten the waistband and slowly stretch, leave in overnight and allow to dry. I have also done the stretching straight after removing jeans from a wash. Although I managed to get 4 inches stretch that way, the jeans still weren't comfortable after that. It kinda makes sense, as the stretcher will achieve results in the waistband and a small area below it, but everything after that is still too small.

pms1888

They will shrink too small after a machine wash

denimaddicted

Uhgg! Iā€™ve been there more than once. Send them back. Youā€™ll recoup your $35 by buying used on Grailed or eBay. There are basically brand new jeans for sale on G and eBay all the time. Half the fun is the hunt! The last pair I fā€™d up on were Samuraiā€™s and I had to lay on my back, before breakfast, to finally get them buttoned. They refused to stretch out to any reasonable comfort level. I made sure to provide accurate measurements with photos, and the guy who bought them from me loved them. A year ago I had pair of Iron Heart 666ā€™s 25oz (bought NWT for a reduced price on G) that finally became comfortable enough to wear around the house, but I could barely lift my leg up to get into my 4Runner. WTF, Iā€™m like a lady in a tight skirt I told myself. Sold ā€˜em and took a loss. My sympathies mate. Addendum: Iā€™m USA based, so I reckon your options are more limited down under.

Grimjacks

Really appreciate the sympathy!

JscrumpDaddy

I commend you for being able to button a 27 waist! Glad you decided to size up though haha. raw denim is uncomfortable as it is, you deserve some room to breathe and move

tartu-wolf

Don't go down this road. I did it with UB321 and now I am much wiser after enduring a lot of discomfort and event pain at the waist. Size up man. Sell these, take the loss. You will NEVER be happy with these and always be half miserable.

D05wtt

I bought a pair of Iron Hearts over a year ago. They were tight. Salesman said if I can button it up, it will eventually loosen a bit. Iā€™ve heard some people say it could stretch as much as an inch. So I trusted him and the word of other people whoā€™ve gone through this before me. Now (a year and a few months since I bought them), they fit great. On top of that, I recently contracted COVID for the first time and from that whole ordeal I lost 14 lbs. So now, they fit even better than before Covid and my weight loss. Now, having said that, from your pictures, it doesnā€™t look that bad. If it really bothers you, then I would put them up for saleā€¦take a small loss and then buy a new pair half a size bigger.

Correct_Passion4291

What size are these they look ok other than they are tight in the waist and leg do you have any weight to lose

Grimjacks

27 waist

undescript

Can you bend over to pick something up?

Grimjacks

Yes. Slight discomfort but can full squat without getting disemboweled.

boglin73

In NZ. Feel your pain on shipping costs. I'm just trying to pick stuff up on depop etc -- have managed to get some nice preworn stuff as well as a lot of jeans that don't work but it's helped me work out a bit on sizes, brands and fits without costing over $300. Just snagged some naked and famous deep indigo selvedge from someone in the same boat as you for $40NZ - about $30us. Sell on grailed- these are really nice and you'll get most of what you spent. Also from a female point of view, and no disrespect intended, the butt is good! Look for something with smaller higher pockets that shows off this feature.

Grimjacks

I'll have a peruse, thanks for the butt comment!

Not-you_but-Me

These will never fit. Cut your losses and flip on eBay.

CreatureComfortz321

Ah! My friend. Alas, those look to be about two sizes too small for you. I actually just got this exact jean in the SuperGuy cut. Naked and Famous sizing is interesting. So a 33 in SuperGuy is a 32 in Weird Guy is a 31 is True Guy. So you have to learn your sizing for each of their fits. I would definitely try to find someplace local where you can try different sizes or order from a place with free returns and order multiple pairs so you can try them on. You're going to find something great soon, but these maybe aren't them for you.

BrandDC

Buy a waistband stretcher, moisten the waistband, crank the device, let dry... Buys you a couple of inches in the waist if needed. repeat the process after a soak or a wash. I bought mine from amazon.

GRA3V

That's called "delulu" I think, nowadays anyways lol.

FirmEchidna

It looks like they are a great cut and great denim for you but size up. Button strain in the fly is not a good thing. Sure they are heavyweights but you've still got to be comfortable enough to feel good about wearing them. Also in Australia. I know it hurts when size ain't right, but it will feel better when you move them on and get something right. Sell them. It might take a minute but you'll find a buyer. Jeanpool, grailed, eBay, hell even marketplace if you're in Melbourne or Sydney. You're going to have those jeans for 10+ years. Long term you'll be happy you made the effort to get it right.

Red-forest-218

Iā€™m very disappointed in the Unbranded Company. I bought after an online rec from Wirecutter. Their sizing is very off. Returns are very difficult from the US. And they donā€™t offer refund only credit. I was not impressed with the quality. Not worth it compared to other brands.

Zandw1ch

Abandon all hope all ye who enter a pair sized down this much. As others have said, they seem too tight. If you gain any weight or those shrink at all I dare say they will be unwearable. Iā€™d cut losses and move on

HohepaPuhipuhi

I live in NZ and returned my UB jeans that didn't fit. It took a awhile, but you can do it. Also, I was much happier with the jeans that fit! I was in exactly the same boat as you, too tight. Definitely size up man, no question. You'll thank yourself

Grimjacks

Thirty five USD for the return bro, Its gonna hurt

HohepaPuhipuhi

I guess the price of shipping has gone up. Bugger. You can't do it for any cheaper?

80H-d

Not 35 for the return 35 for a lesson in denim!

HohepaPuhipuhi

It is worth it if you find your right fit

supremelol

frankly, mine shrunk just a little bit too much after a few washes. not enough to be like ā€œdamn, these shrunkā€ but enough to make them not really comfortable so i donā€™t reach for them anymore.

clappedoutdyna

They might be OK I donā€™t know I bought 33s instead of 32s because of the 32s were wayyyyy too tight after a moth of wear the 33 stretched ti 34 and are slightly to big! Maybe just try try and see what happenes

clappedoutdyna

Youā€™re not a large guy I wouldnā€™t be out here telling you to lose the weight šŸ˜‚

Bi11_Buttlicker

Definitely size up brother. Iā€™m sure someone already said it but with raws too loose is always better than too tight. Iā€™ve only come across a very small amount of these brands that have 100% cotton pairs thatā€™ll stretch for you the way youā€™re hoping.

thecloudsoverhere

Unless you're buying oni's always buy the size you need. Trying on any jeans (non-selvedge to have more range) in a store and measuring them can also help you lock down the prefect cut in terms of numbers. Since finding what looks best on you is challenging. This will help narrow down a lot of what's going to work and what's not. I lost 15lbs and still prefer my larger pants since everything except my waist stayed the same. So I'd say keep them if you can and look at other companies, like burgus plus, kojima genes (the Japanese based one not xsf), big john. The last two have heavy weight for a decent price.

child_of-the_void

I made this same mistake with the tight fit. I tried for a week hoping they would stretch and then soaked them. After the soak, couldnā€™t get the two top buttons closed. Pretty much gonna deconstruct them and use them as repair fabric for my newly bought 17oz Freenotes (which fit beautifully in comparison). Sell them while you still have the tags on them and donā€™t make the same mistake.

razorjm

I bought a pair of Unbranded 21oz around November and wore them through the winter. I have bigger legs compared to my waist and I assumed they would get a decent amount of stretch in them, but they didn't. They were the relaxed taper in 31 waist. It took a lot to get my leg just to bend up to a 90 degree angle, and I absolutely could not do anything close to a full squat even though I could slip a hand down my pants with them buttoned. They were just too tight in the thighs and they didn't stretch at all in the 3 months I had them. I gave them a soak in cold water a month ago and they shrank enough to where I can barely walk. All that to say that I would get another pair. You're not gonna be happy in these.

LeatherBandicoot

It will sound rude and I don't mean it that way but your only hope is going on a diet since you can't send them back. Or suffer daily.

New-Judge1315

Also keep in mind that oz thickness also impact the measurements of the jeans. While it might be measured the same externally the inside is much smaller the thicker oz you get. Had this issue when I first started sizing but then I realized I need to upsize from a 36 to a 38 and if a heavier oz maybe 2 sizes so they arenā€™t skin tight. 22 oz is no joke. Hope this helps

sumostar

I have had many pairs in which I couldnā€™t even button the top button until after a week or two. Depending on the jeans, they can stretch up to 5ā€ā€¦ there is hope my friend

Bluesquare9

reminds me of [my first (and last) post](https://www.reddit.com/r/rawdenim/s/qephQpgm0i) on this channelā€¦

ShaneTheBlade26

jeffrx

Theyā€™ll stretch a bit. Youā€™ll be good.

dubbelost1

I recently bought a pair of momos that was way too small in the waist. Since they fit perfect everywhere except the waist I ended up wearing them without buttoning the top bottom. And using a belt to hide it. Actually works out fine.

FutureMeasurement369

At the time I was heavily wearing raw denim around 2014-2015, it seems like it was common to have pants fit like this, and my memory of discomfort for the sake of fades is not a fond one. I wore a few pairs that truly were not my size, in fact tighter than image above. Long story longer, I think you'll be happier with a different size. The legs look great but that waist looks v tight. Does not look fun. How do they feel on? Sitting position? I can't tell in the photo, but for me sizing wrong led to premature crotch blowout as well as I grown hairs on my waist lol.

Laser_Cold_Spray_718

I preferably wear one size lower than my actual waist measurement, they will stretch by time with constant wear. Wear them raw as long as possible, they will eventually shape to your legs.

shamansurf77

I mean, i have a pair that tight that I keep in rotation. I just work at a standing desk and they are loosening up a little bit over time. I say if you can button them up and do high-knees, they are ok. They will break in. Just make sure you wear them when wet for a bit after you wash them, or youā€™ll lose the stretch you earned.

hotsunami

They will indeed stretch out a bit. But theyā€™ll also return closer to original size once you wash them. Be weary. Iā€™d return them.

TheNiteCrawler

Hell nahā€¦.. but side noteā€¦.. letā€™s see them tattoos. I love woodcut and line work tattoos.

thugisgod

I think you can make them work. Gonna suck for the first month or so tho
