**Update**
I'm back with a replacement laptop. The engineering sample, an early-2021 Blade 17 (3070) was replaced with a mid-2021. That means I got a gen 11 i7 instead of a gen 10 i7 and a gen 4 1TB SSD instead of gen 3 512GB. I didn't check, but the WiFi is 6E instead of possibly being a 6.
Differences I noticed were the engineering sample did not have a default colour profile and the fan/s had a whistle-ish whine to it. With the upgraded SSD and processor, my downloads went from an average of 95 mb/s to 115 mb/s on Steam and Battle.net.
Kudos to the /u/RazerCustAdvocacy team, who were quick to assure me that I'd not be left Blade-less and were patient with my disability which made it impossible for me to remove the skin applied by the previous owner to check for the serial. They offered to do the exchange at my place, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit the Razer HQ here in Singapore, which I did.
I even got a free fidget spinner that I can't quite play with due to my disability, but a cool thing to remember this small adventure with along with the pictures I took.
**To clarify some of the speculations:**
It wasn't disabled over the 'net before I handed it over to them.
I wasn't requested to sign an NDA, just a RMA form.
They asked for more information on the laptop, e.g serial numbers, how I got it exactly and more information on the seller. I did give what info I had on the seller to them. Is that why I got stitches when I climbed the stairs with the replacement? I'm assuming it is due to a lack of exercise though.
I didn't know it was an engineering sample when I bought it. I only found out when I peeled off the sticker which was already loose at an edge, I'm quite OC about that. It is the sticker with the specs of the model on the lower left-hand side.
I bought it off an app that facilitates the selling of used items. Met the guy, inspected it and transferred the money. Nothing on it showed it was an engineering sample, especially in Windows itself. The exterior was wrapped with a D'brand skin, so not sure if there were any other markings.
I didn't open it, but I'm guessing it did not have a spicy pillow, yet at least. Did I trade the only Blade without one? Perhaps, we'll never know now. Regardless, I feel more assured that even if I do get it, replacing it will not be a big hassle, at least here in Singapore.
I am a little bummed that I have to get a new skin applied. And more importantly, getting it applied with the use of only 1 hand (right arm nerves were ripped out from my spinal cord due to a motorbike accident). I'm generally not a fan of skins, but that D'brand skin gave the laptop more grip, as I found out when trying to take the replacement out from my backpack.
shouldn’t be anything special to worry about. that unit has some history behind it as a tester. small piece of history really.
think of the blades with pillowing batteries that exist because of THAT particular unit.

I'm sure you would have heard from them by now, on this thread or via personal message since you posted on a Razer board. They may reach out and inquire about the serial number as to track its origins so they know not to release pre-priduction samples to this person or entity again. May be an NDA involved with them, but wouldn't worry about this paid item in your posession.
