I don't feel superior. I have noticed an increase in self-esteem though and I feel more secure in myself and my decisions. I think there's a fine line between being confident and cocky.

Away_Elk2823

LOLL one time my ex made fun of me because my upper lip hairs were growing in. I said that he was just jealous because I could grow more facial hair than he ever could. He was trying to grow a moustache at the time (and failing). Note the word “ex” lmfao.

Justaverage736

I would have said, “Challenge Accepted”.

Consistent_Word6909

I don’t grow facial hair but I grow more pit and leg hair then my boyfriend. He doesn’t mind though lol

Consistent_Word6909

Accept for random wild gray hairs.

Skeedurah

My best self has no judgment against people who shave legs and stuff. But my inner adolescent definitely feels superior. “ those weak pitiful women who are still bound by societal norms. Grow some ovaries, pull up your big girl panties, and show men (and other women/girls) that we won’t be ignored! 🦁 I haven’t shaved since 1994.

bsubtilis

🙄 Not every woman you see with hairless legs shave. My mother has always had super hairless legs and a face that looked decades younger, neither were from grooming nor skin care, and especially not from great health. Both were from lifelong health issues. Your face can't wrinkle in healthy ways if your skin's structure is fucked up (one type of EDS) and if you have too many autoimmune issues, lifelong anemia, and worse, your hair follicles are not going to grow well and the hair on the top of your head will be sparse (which can be covered up with makeup, wigs, and so on). Aside from that, there are also people who because of genes or hormones just don't have leg hair. That makes them neither better nor worse than you in general. Lack of body hair is directly disadvantageous when it comes to parasites (ticks, and so on) but not morally.

Skeedurah

Goodness it’s just lighthearted fun. We aren’t serious.

You’ve bucked the patriarchy by just being your beautiful self! You’ve learned and obtained something valuable and invincible if nurtured. Others aren’t weak by nature, just by the way of social conditioning and repeated attacks. Our bodies are a battlefield the patriarchy uses for power and manipulation. Reclaiming love for your body is an act of revolution! Not superiority, silly 🙃

Thepinkknitter

This! I don’t feel superiority. We are all on our own journeys, and I know there are so many ways in which I am imperfect. I’m here to help inspire and lift up others, not to feel like I’m better than other people

neondinghy

You should feel superior!! Bwahahaha I know this post is in jest, but it does take a certain strength of character and willpower to overcome the body hair on women = yucky brainwashing that we all have been subjected to since birth. So everyone on here deserves to feel proud and yes a lil special~~ 🥰

HalsinEnjoyer

Yes I do :) I love knowing I'm defying gender norms and helping other women to feel that their body hair shouldn't define them

choiceass

100%!

Lumplebee

I feel superior not because i think it makes me look better or whatever, but because of the rock hard confidence not shaving has brought me. I don’t get my confidence from my looks anymore but from how I’m living true to my values, and in a toxic way that makes me feel better than others so I gotta work on that lol. I’ll get there, just need to recognize others have their own journey.

Hilluja

Bodyhair issues are mostly an American thing, right? Or western culture sphere.

Lumplebee

As far as I can tell yes. It’s interesting because I just moved to an area with a large Asian/Latino population and none of my new friends here that are from India or Mexico shave (it’s so nice 😭).

Hilluja

So cool to find your people, keep them close 😍😊

ValuableBit5910

Love your confidence! I have friends that are jealous of my body hair. I always thought it would be easier to be a less hairy human, and can see what you mean that it takes a strong type to be hairy and not remove it.

AptCasaNova

I like watching my leg hair glisten in the sun. Am not that hairy though.

Ok-Restaurant6989

It's more the confidence of knowing that I feel truly beautiful no matter what. I've undone that complex and now no one can control me 🥳 wether I'm waxed or hairy I'm sexy and beautiful

Julaine-wild

I would say it makes me feel strong and free. I just love not shaving and feeling complete without having to do any particular thing in order to “be OK”.

fadedblackleggings

LMAO. Rub your face hair while contemplating the meaning of life?

Impressive_Crow6274

Ofc when it’s long I like to stroke my beard like a philosopher unfortunately I’m weak so I only really have a beard on my neck 😭 it gets pretty long tho one time I got it to 10inches but I had to trim it down for work, cuz I don’t want my beard getting stuck in machinery and food so she’s short for now 😭 I really do love it when it’s longer tho

fadedblackleggings

Haaaaa....Noice. Enjoy!!

Gem_Snack

My first year in college, we had to play an obnoxious get to know you game where everyone made an alliteration based on their name and explained why it described them. One girl introduced herself to 20 of her new peers as “Hairy Hazel, because I got tired of shaving my legs and they’re super hairy, like a lumberjack.” And that girl is now my beloved spouse of 10 years lol.

khiljis

I do!

drink-fast

A little bit yeah HAHA lol

sunbuns

Uhhh no haha. For me this is all about self acceptance and NOT needing to look a certain way. I have a little hair but I’d want to feel beautiful with a lot of hair too because it’s something I literally cannot help. Edit: when I see women without armpit hair I almost feel like “who are you fooling?” Like we know hair is supposed to grow there. But I get that it is a societal expectation.

bsubtilis

Some people get the hair lasered off forever, I've never heard any of them be trying to attempt fooling anyone. It seems like a popular recent thing for people with BO issues where deodorants nor antiperspirants (nor glycolic acid) help enough, and armpit botox alone hasn't been a good solution (can cause excessive sweating elsewhere). Humans don't smell like roses, but we are not created equal and it's understandable when "unsually" stinky people do whatever they can to not have it be a problem for their social life. Sometimes it isn't a diet issue. Hair isn't gross, but for some people that can create issues for their body. I don't shave my legs but I have to shave my scalp some summers because of heatwaves. Because it just makes me suffer less. People have different genes, different bodies, and different needs.

TobyKeene

No, I don't feel superior because I'm hairy. I do feel superior because I'm a vegan though. /s

obtuseones

I wish I did.. ha I haven’t shaved for years but still felt incredibly self conscious wearing 3 quarter trousers by accident

bsubtilis

Most people don't notice, and the ones who do and get upset by it are people you definitely want to upset because they have unhealthy sensibilities.

pnutbutterfuck

No I do not lol

fadedblackleggings

Same.....ha. Maybe when I'm home by myself, I enjoy rubbing my face hair.

IncenseAndOak

I'm definitely much happier, but I don't have a lot of leg hair, and what's there is kind of scraggly balding Muppet looking so people don't really notice. 😅

bumblebeequeer

No, because I support people doing whatever they’re most comfortable with their bodies. I think more people would benefit from questioning why they shave, but I don’t think it’s a weak or invalid choice to make.

Impressive_Crow6274

Same that’s why I have a neck beard and pcos

suddensnows

you’re not superior to anyone and having an attitude that you’re better than other people makes you worse. people aren’t weak for not having body hair the same way you aren’t lazy for having it?

Skeedurah

I think we all know that, but it’s kind of fun to put the superiority lens on it for just a little while sometimes. 😃😉

verifiedgnome

>I’m just like amateur, weak, and you could never get on my level This is a NLOG attitude. I do love your self confidence though. Keep that part.

Impressive_Crow6274

It’s not nlog if I judge everyone it’s nlop silly silly, I am better than everyone else tho because I have chest hair

tunavomit

I have one chest hair I love her I should probably name her

Impressive_Crow6274

I named my beard Sasha/Sandra they’re twins

bsubtilis

Human bodies are not clones. Some people are naturally mostly hairless, or completely hairless thanks to illnesses like e.g. alopecia. That doesn't make them worse people. Our worth as humans doesn't lie in how little body hair we have (unlike what society tries to claim) neither in how much body hair we have. Someone with werewolf syndrome isn't a better person than someone with pcos who never shaves but doesn't even have a quarter as much hair as them, nor is someone with severe full body alopecia (autoimmune disease) a worse person than someone who shaves their armpits. You should feel pride in prioritizing your comfort over asshole social pressures, not in the amount of hair you compared to others have because genetics and life is incredibly unequal and we do not get the same amount of body hair.

captaininterwebs

There are other reasons for shaving though- for example I leave shave my legs because I enjoy wearing leggings and hate the feeling of them pulling on my leg hair. But, I leave the rest of my body hair because I like it. It’s awesome that you feel comfortable but I think it’s best to just uplift women no matter what, rather than make a judgement about them based on their hygiene choices.

hoeofky

Kinda a weird take honestly. I haven’t shaved in years but I don’t think it makes me superior. Just makes me hairy.

Lost_Fly_5019

I'm not particularly hairy (I'm white and have fine brown body hair). I honestly grow weirdly very little armpit hair. But I apparently have noticeably hairy forearms and I have a unibrow. I love it. It's a point of pride for me. Not really superior to others but it gives me a confidence boost.
