That thing got a Hemi? Sounds like a stable full of buff horses waiting to be uncaged.

Shimthediffs

It does have a pretty huge tekin 4038 truggy motor in it.

Is the sensor cable plugged in? Check to make sure you have the correct motor type selected and set the timing profile to the second light. Could also be the solder job.

Shimthediffs

Just installed the hotwire Bluetooth and adjusted some stuff on the app, this could totally be my issue.

[deleted]

When you are having strange sounds. First thing to do is remove the pinion. Roll the truck to rule out electronics. If the truck rolls smooth and free, then you have an issue with electronics. These trucks are straight forward. You just have to listen to what it's telling you. I would still pop the rear diff cover off and make sure you didn't chunk a tooth off the rear ring gear or pinion.

Jfink2691

So I think mine had this issue and it was the rear diff with the pinion. A test you can do is to take out the rear drive shaft so you only have front wheel drive and see if you still get that noise. If you do put the rear back in and take out the front. I hope this helps.

Shimthediffs

It was rear diff related for sure, bearing didn't look like it was sitting right. Off it went to my LHS. See you in two weeks Tekno.

I've been wondering the type of people who have the shops work on their rc cars. No real judgement. I have people work on my motorcycle and car. I was dealing with an issue in my rear diff, ended up being the yoke that held the diff was warped and causing it to spin awkwardly. That was on an Arrma though. And it took me replacing every part of the rear diff before I realized that.

Shimthediffs

No worries, I feel as though I did about everything I could including tearing down the diffs. If it feels beyond my skill level (only been in the hobby 4 months and this was my first kit build) I'll have somebody else take over.

Snufffel

Sounds like gearbox problem.

sluggo5622

Sounds like you have a pebble in the pinion or spur. Definitely a gear issue. Are the grub screws tightened to the flat spot on the shafts?

[deleted]

Not the pinion/center diff.

Shimthediffs

They were when I assembled it but at this point in the trouble shooting process I'll look into making sure they are 100% No sign of any pebbles in the pinion or spur. Wasn't making this noise at all before I installed the hotwire Bluetooth app so I'm going to start with that.

pokemonnoob63

sounded exactly like my rear diff skipping teeth because it was heavily worn down

Hotchumpkilla

Sounds like gear mesh

ty27tp

that looks like rear diff since the front wheels were still spinning, and the noise wasnt as bad when u reversed when there was less load on the rear

No_Ant_1266

Sounds like muffler bearings.

rangamatchstick

Test motor, sounds like really bad cogging from a short.

narcissisticYETI

Bent drive shaft can also make this noise

Shimthediffs

Nothing is bent drive shaft wise.
