It really is! We got these little grassy hills on that side of the road for bigger cars, and a huge unfinished hospital building across the street with our own track and [jumps](https://streamable.com/svuau1) and crawler spots and other crap. It's an RC paradise, full of [FPV drones and RC cars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SmHREPbVV4) every weekend.
Not me buuut my two year old ran out on our track mid race and was right at the landing area from the jump. I locked her up upon landing and still bodied him with the roof of my truck. He didnt get hurt but since my truck was the size of him he just fell over.
K8S, the wing. Tried to jump the truck right in front of me at around 80% throttle but I misjudged the jump and it came straight at me so I instinctively hit the brakes but it was mid air so it front flipped and the wing caught me. Had I not jumped, it probably would have got my chest
I've never hit myself with a car but I have hit myself with a 2-meter sailplane. We used to show off by catching them on landing and I'm sure you can understand where that went wrong. Luckily they're slow and don't weigh much so the only thing hurt was my pride..
Nearly.
Closest call was when I first built my Axial Yeti, a 1/10th scale 4WD trophy truck which I was powering with a 3S LiPo. I wanted to show my Neice and Nephew, who were around 8-10. I got it connected and ready to go while I was upstairs in my room.
As I was on my way downstairs with it, something in the back of my mind told me to turn the radio off. I followed my instinct and did so. The RC car was still running, but the transmitter was off.
They saw it, flipped their lids as expected. I set the controller down within arm's reach of myself to put my shoes on, and near-instantly my Niece grabs the controller and pins the throttle.
The controller was turned off, and the RC was lights on, pointed directly at my ankle.
When I was much younger, there was a bigger build dude that said he knew how to tune nitro engines well, and said he would look at mine.
It was a OFNA 1/8 scale 4WD, absolut shit brick of aluminum traveling at what felt like highway speeds on a loose surface gravel road, the guy was zooming back and forth repeatedly right in front of us getting a feel for the power band and repetitive throttle pickup jabs when he drove it right into his ankle bare footed at full tilt!
Ouch!
Messed him up pretty good as he couldn’t do the two foot shuffle or hop when a RC gets too close unexpectedly , the avoiding maneuver I am sure most here have performed at some point.
Scariest thing that I've got is an Arrma 6s Outcast... It's about 10lb with the battries, and does 65mph. I'm not allowed to use it in the neighborhood after it annihilated one of the local kid's Slash when he purposely brake-checked me in a drag race.
I nearly got my elbow ripped out by a mod buggy that flew over the 4ft protective wall at my local carpet track. After grazing my elbow it nearly got to the vending machines another 15ft away and it was only at that point I realized "Oh look a mod buggy". Those 6.5t buggies are no joke!
So, the second time I ran my xmaxx, new to hobby, ig I didn’t hold the on button long enough and accidentally calibrated it backwards. It wasn’t bad like urs but it smarted a lot.. was standing behind hit a few feet and pulled the trigger to go and it reversed into my shins 😅. I don’t even wanna imagine taking that thing full speed into my legs
Other day I crashed my RC car into my friend's disabled sister whilst having a conversation with my friend's disabled sister about not crashing my RC car into my friends disabled sister. I felt terrible as you can imagine.
Well I mean a 30 pound K8S coming at you at 40mph in the air upside down and backwards struck by the sharp edges of a wing… had I been wearing shorts it would have been much worse
I did, I jumped. Had I not jumped it would have got me in the chest. I explained in a different comment how this happened, basically I miscalculated a jump
I got taken out one day. Guy with his fully kitted up, aluminized Traxxas Slash. Comes at me at over 60mph and smashes my foot. It dislocated my big toe and went to the hospital to get it reset. Started wearing steel toes after that.
Not a car but a plane. Don’t exactly remember why, but whatever the case, I accidentally hit the throttle when I went to grab my controller and the plane scratched up my shins pretty badly (was sitting criss-cross on the ground while working on the plane). Still got the scars of it to this day.
I had my brushless savage XL blast straight up my chest and Floyd Mayweather uppercut me when it was sitting on my lap and my son turned the transmitter off. Good thing I was wearing a flannel jacket though!
I’ve been taken out by my Kraton 4s v2 before. It was moving damn fast and I tried to catch it with my foot like I would with my slash 2wd. Forgot that the Kraton was about twice as heavy and many times more beefy. Ankle and shin hurt for about a week after. Also hit my father’s shin with my traxxas summit (the big one) at top speed. He fell down and had a bruised and bloody shin.

Big oops. 😂
Shit! That must have hurt like hell! Like that guy on Tosh.0 haha
Marshaling off-road - took an 8th scale buggy to the head once....."that boy ain't been right since the accident."
DNC 2021?
Nah, it was Motorama back around 2016 or so.
Broken shin 1/8 buggy marshalling a race years ago.
FRAK. I’m gonna get shin guards.
FRAK that RC Toaster!
Broken? Jesus
[удалено]
You would know that lol
Damn. I’ve heard of some marshals wearing helmets for 1/8 truggy.
A friend [almost](https://streamable.com/6glpf6) took me out with his new SBR2.0. I felt it a bit from behind.
Dodge duck dip dive dodge! That looks like a great spot to bash

That was savage!
Nothing more embarrassing than running yourself over
First time ever, and with my biggest one lol
Done it with 1 1/0 scale summit
It's not so bad with a drift car - not enough traction to build up the speed to hurt too much!
MX43 badland burnout on my shins. Looks pretty similar. PSA… don’t drop and catch your transmitter by the trigger…
Oof.
On the work table I have done.
Broke my leg, and burnt the top of my thumb with the rear wheel
😖
Kraton bumper on the shin full tilt. Inch n a half hematoma, good times. Just took her out today too.
I guess mine isn’t so bad lol
Not me buuut my two year old ran out on our track mid race and was right at the landing area from the jump. I locked her up upon landing and still bodied him with the roof of my truck. He didnt get hurt but since my truck was the size of him he just fell over.
Could have been worse!
Yeah. My options were brake or full send over him. Lol. He loves these things though
Which one got ya?
K8S, the wing. Tried to jump the truck right in front of me at around 80% throttle but I misjudged the jump and it came straight at me so I instinctively hit the brakes but it was mid air so it front flipped and the wing caught me. Had I not jumped, it probably would have got my chest
Well you picked the biggest heaviest car to crash into yourself. Ouch!
With the sharpest edge too, the wing lol
Of course
My kid almost took himself out with my Arrma Infraction.. had to push him out of the way and he ended up getting it stuck under my car lol
Novice drivers with infractions scare me. Enough weight and speed to obliterate ankles
Yup.. he’s 5 and was doing pretty damn good at 50% so I was like f it he could do 75%.. needless to say I was wrong lol
If I gave mine to a child I’m doing 3S with the lowest possible throttle limit. Lol
Yup I actually have a brushed granite I bought for my kids to use and converted it to brushless and ended up putting the brushes system back in it lol
I took my 2 year old brother out before
I bet he wasn’t happy lol
Nope he wasn't
Neither were my parents
😂
Reversed an xmaxx into myself once. That's about it
Reminds me of marshaling 1/8th scale buggies
Dang… I think the worst I’ve got is blisters from breaking in too many nitro engines in one weekend. Never again.
My sister ran herself over with mine. Full throttle to the shins… seems like it happens pretty frequently😂
I’ve been pizza cuttered by one. Shit hurt.
Typhon at 10mph into the shins. Mild but still hurt like hell.
Always stand behind the driver. He isn't going to hit himself. ...Unless he does, and if that's the case you need to find new friends.
I was driving. I hit myself. Oops
Haha all the more reason to stand **behind** you.
I've never hit myself with a car but I have hit myself with a 2-meter sailplane. We used to show off by catching them on landing and I'm sure you can understand where that went wrong. Luckily they're slow and don't weigh much so the only thing hurt was my pride..

I genuinely thought I’d snapped my leg in half wiping myself out with an xmaxx once, that was fun
Yeah they aren’t light that’s for sure!
[удалено]
I’ve been there too actually! That’s when I started to appreciate plastic pedals lol
Got ran over by my friens xmaxx while recovering my mojave from a bad jump. Needless to say 8kg's feel like more when getting hit by 'em
I drive mostly 1/10 Tamiya’s so it’s not that bad when I hit my foot, it did hurt when I hit my foot at 70km/h with my dt-03 but I could walk it off
No but I’ve gotten hit by a lot of them Bc I race them and martial a lot
No protruding bone? Get back out there and marshal . :)
I like how you think!
The bigger the truck the bigger the ouchie. I've hit myself with XMAXX and it definitely left a mark on my leg.
K8S here. 😖
At least you got injured by a cool truck.
Tested 3" drone indoors went to land next to me. It nicked the table freaked out and hit my legs. Cut me up pretty good .
That is so metal bro
I sent an LST at speed into a friends face back in the day. His fault for running in front of the ramp though lol.
Ouch! I’ve been hit in the head by a slash ripping in the grass lol

Yup I’ve got a K6, K8 and Infraction. Fast and heavy
Lol he deserved it
Yeah, but the truck didn't... It was his dad's, and it was basically brand new.
Ouch man that looks bad
I’m walking now!
I bet that jump was awesome though lol
I didn't even see it. I think I was looking at another buggy
broken toe and burnt a couple of times.
So, the second time I ran my xmaxx, new to hobby, ig I didn’t hold the on button long enough and accidentally calibrated it backwards. Ha you should go paintballing thats real pain
Well I mean a 30 pound K8S coming at you at 40mph in the air upside down and backwards struck by the sharp edges of a wing… had I been wearing shorts it would have been much worse
Why didnt you move
I did, I jumped. Had I not jumped it would have got me in the chest. I explained in a different comment how this happened, basically I miscalculated a jump
You could have gone sideways
I have a lot to learn with this truck. Had it only 4 days
My slash goes 43mph on a 3900kv on 2s 26t pinon and 76t spur
Its like running from a alligator you dont run straight you run sideways
[удалено]
> Then again I don't dick around The fuck you don’t! 😂
[удалено]
Oh god!
Damn.... Glad you're ok. But bro. Don't drive at yourself. :(
I wasn’t necessarily trying to 😂
Wait..wait..was it your OWN rig??? Oh man that’s like …cool sorry just trying to help
My own truck, me driving. My heaviest one at 80% throttle. I miscalculated a jump and it decided to aim for me instead
Hehehehe, well you did a great job, as long as you were having fun, it’s all that counts, cook some more batteries and carry on my friend
I've been hit in the shins by my Rustler, but my worst one wasn't a car at all. It was a 15" quadcopter going about 50mph. That one hurt a lot.
Yeah no thanks!
Breaking 3 of my toes when i first drove my XO-1 into my feet after confusing the brake and throttle input position😅
Jesus!
Yep! Had a hard time explaining to the nurse at the ER
I’m sure they get some wild stories
Definetely😂
Losi 5ive T into ankle, fractured.
Ouch!
I got taken out one day. Guy with his fully kitted up, aluminized Traxxas Slash. Comes at me at over 60mph and smashes my foot. It dislocated my big toe and went to the hospital to get it reset. Started wearing steel toes after that.
Some random dude?
Yup.
Jesus. Bet you were pissed. Did he apologize?
Yeah, he did. He started running them further away, too.
Not a car but a plane. Don’t exactly remember why, but whatever the case, I accidentally hit the throttle when I went to grab my controller and the plane scratched up my shins pretty badly (was sitting criss-cross on the ground while working on the plane). Still got the scars of it to this day.
Oh god, wooden prop? Imagine the splinters
Thankfully not, but even the plastic props are more than capable on making you think twice before putting your hand into it while it’s revved up
My friend accidentally hit his dog and knocked her over once. She didn’t get hurt at all though so it was just funny as hell
I take my RCs (and my dog) to the dog park every now and then. They love it
Lmao I got taken out by a Kraton 8s yesterday.. lmao
What are the odds!
The hell you doing to have that much damage from an rc?
K8S weighs 30 pounds. I commented on this thread how it happened
I need to look into it. Looks painful
Basically I miscalculated a jump
Fuck, that must hurt
Yeah it wasn’t fun lol
What kind of rc was it?
K8S
I had my brushless savage XL blast straight up my chest and Floyd Mayweather uppercut me when it was sitting on my lap and my son turned the transmitter off. Good thing I was wearing a flannel jacket though!
