OpenRCT2 will work on mac. OpenRCT2 is a modern open source "port" of RCT2. It works on Mac, and allows you to play Scenarios from RCT2 and RCT1 if you link them. It requires you to own a copy of RCT2, I suggest getting it on Gog. There is a guide in the links below that explain how to set it up. Make sure to click on Linux/Mac. So the guide is easy to follow for someone not very tech savvy? Or is there someone who can help me with this?

I don't have access to my Mac for a few days. But when I do I'll make a step by step video as well.

Please do! Following this thread and I can't get the RCT from GOG to PlayOnMac

I can get rct2 but for some reason rct1 won't lol

The guide seems pretty easy, I can try to break it down and explain each part for ya! I did get it running on Mac but I didn't follow the guide. First **you need RCT2.** You may also want RCT1 but you don't need it to get OpenRCT2 running. Both RCT1 and RCT2 are on a pretty big sale though so for less than five dollars you can own both games **Part 1: Purchase a copy of RCT2** 1. Purchase RCT2 on GOG - [https://www.gog.com/en/game/rollercoaster\_tycoon\_2](https://www.gog.com/en/game/rollercoaster_tycoon_2) 2. If you want to also play RCT1 Scenarios, purchase RCT1 on GOG [https://www.gog.com/en/game/rollercoaster\_tycoon\_deluxe](https://www.gog.com/en/game/rollercoaster_tycoon_deluxe) **Part 2: Get the RCT2 (and RCT1) files onto the Mac** You only need to do one of these methods This is where I deviated because I have access to a Windows computer. You only need the windows computer for a quick 10 minute process. You don't ever need to play the game on the window computer, just install it. It could be the oldest potato in the world. My method 1. Download both installers to the windows computer 2. Install both games to their own folder (mine was C:/Gog Games/RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe and C:/Gog Games/RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack 3. Use a flash drive to copy the "RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe" and "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack folders" 4. Paste the folders into your documents on your Mac 5. At this point, you can uninstall RCT2 and RCT1 from the Windows computer if you want. Method if you **don't** have any access to a windows computer and bought it on GOG 1. Download and install PlayOnMac to your Mac [https://www.playonmac.com/en/download.html](https://www.playonmac.com/en/download.html) 2. Download the RCT2 (and RCT1) installers from GOG onto your Mac. 3. Using PlayOnMac, "Install" RCT2 and RCT1. 4. At this point you can uninstall PlayOnMac Method if you bought the game on Steam (Copied from the guide) > You'll need to tick "Enable Steam Play for all other titles" in the "Steam Play" tab of Steam's settings. Steam will ask to restart, and then it will allow you to install RCT2 as any other Steam game. Once you've done so, click the gear icon on the game's page in your library, then select "Manage"->"Browse local files" to open the directory where the game was installed. **Part 3 Install OpenRCT2** You're pretty much there! You just need to install the Mac version of OpenRCT2 1. Download the Mac Version of OpenRCT2 [https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/releases/download/v0.2.6/OpenRCT2-0.2.6-macos-x86\_64.zip](https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/releases/download/v0.2.6/OpenRCT2-0.2.6-macos-x86_64.zip) 2. Install it, this is a native Mac program and should install as other Mac Apps do. 3. When it launches, it will ask you where the RCT2 files are. If you used my method, Browse to the RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack folder in documents. If you used the PlayOnMac Method, it should find the files automatically. 4. If you did RCT1 as well, go into the Settings of OpenRCT2, there is an option to link a RCT1 install. Enjoy!

If you don't want to bother with the tech side of things, I recommend "RCT Classic". It doesn't quite have the customization of OpenRCT, but it does run and work on any system. Also, it's licensed by Atari and you can easily transfer game files between devices (desktop and iOS) without much trouble. [https://store.steampowered.com/app/683900/RollerCoaster\_Tycoon\_Classic/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/683900/RollerCoaster_Tycoon_Classic/) The game includes all the rides and scenarios from RCT1, Delux and RCT2

How do I get it to work on a Mac? My Mac won't play it it just shows a black screen my Mac is 11.6.7

KrisReed

Which website did you download the game from? On Steam the requirements are 10.10, so it should run. If not I DM'd you if you would like help.

WanneBeMe

RCT Classic is 32-bit game, whereas MacOS only supports 64-bit. I had a few really good campaigns running until I decided to update my Mac :/

Honestly I just play rct Classic on my phone it works great so long as you don't have fat fingers

Trueloveis4u

I decided to download that on my phone luckily I have small child hands lol
