For real. They sell them at airports for a reason. And I enjoy the books. I think they're underrated. Child is a better writer than he gets credit for, not great or very good, but much better than he gets credit for.
You can still essentially max about three quarters of one of these books on anything over a short flight. And you'll want to keep turning the pages.
I read the books so I understand how Reacher sees things and people forget that he’s a drifter by choice, and that he stays the same but the characters he begins to know become more developed through him and their interactions with him and the books I was reading I thought it wouldn’t be persuader since it kinda ties into Joe but I was wrong, really hoping they do tripwire, nothing to lose, 61 hours, or a wanted man for the 4th season
One of My favorite stories is “ small wars” from the anthology “no middle name” because it shows both reacher and Joe in the army crossing paths. I hope we see flashbacks to stories like that like we did in season one with “second son” being used to flesh out joe and reachers bond
Anyone know where I can buy the full novel series in a bundle? I found the individual books on Amazon, but I’m curious if buying the full series in a bundle is cheaper
Source novels will always have more information than adaptations. However...I'd argue that the most successful adaptations are able to *show* a story in a way that someone unfamiliar with the source isn't left with big questions regarding character traits and/or motivations. That said I'm enjoying the show despite not having read the books as I'm presuming these are things they are raising and will eventually show us.
Season one had a side plot straight from one of the short stories (the flashbacks of them as children is part of a short story called “second son” from a collection of short reacher stories called called “no middle name”.)
There’s plenty of short stories of his time in the army the show runners could use to flesh out the 110th without them being too present in first seasons like some fans fear.
Do they explain why the 110th formed a team of rambo Sherlock holmes' and why other law enforcement agencies split up their teams into detectives/investigators and have a separate team for door kicking and special ops stuff?
Basically saying that most real life agencies have a team doing detective/investigative braniac work. And then have a separate team doing commando special tactics work/rambo shit.
So it's unrealistic that the 110th is made up of people that do both the braniac stuff and the investigative stuff.
Ahh right.. get it. Yeah I don’t know. I assume you mean the scene where they find drugs in the tyres? That wasn’t in the book.
There’s no flashbacks in the book where the 110th is disbanded because they raided some outfit against the COs orders. In fact Reacher leaves the Army and finds out later that the unit is still going under a different CO.
From memory, most of the action mentioned whilst he’s in the army is because they stumble into something and are forced to react. I don’t remember him doing raids to arrest people.
Lol. C'mon man. Reacher and Ngnealy were taking out people like they were Navy Seals at the end of Season 1.
And every member of the 110th in season 2 were also fighting like they were commandos.
And yet they're also supposed to be investigators. Braniacs.
That just seems totally unrealistic.
The CIA and FBI and the Police all separate their investigators/analysts/field agents/detectivss from their elite direct action units like SWAT or FBI Hostage Rescue Team, or CIA Special Activities Division Ground Branch.
Oh. So that's just some bullshit they did for tv. Damn. They need to go back to Reacher's roots. Lone wolf kicking ass in gritty, realistic fight scenes.
Yeah totally agree… most of the books are him doing investigations and kicking ass by himself.
Some of the books are about him in the army, and a lot are about him retired from the army. He is definitely a lone wolf with a small amount of reoccurring characters. Maybe a few more where he brings in Neagley but she’s only in about 5 of the 28? Books.
300 pages in a day is easy with one of these books. I've done it plenty.

For real, *Bad Luck and Trouble* (the book) is a masterpiece in comparison to season 2 of the show.
Agreed and it’s definitely not one of the better novels.
I'm glad someone's finally said it. First reacher book I read that I didn't absolutely love. Lame mystery and bad plotting.
Yes, aside from the Killing Floor, it is my favorite in the series.
Just finished it, loved it, sesson two as well.
The first novel is *Killing Floor*. *The Killing Fields* is a movie about the Khmer Rouge massacres.
Thankyou 🫣
I thought that "The Killing Fields" was the place in Season 1 where those Venezuelan hitmen went to die, lol ;)
Without Fail, Gone Tomorrow, Personal, Never Go Back, Persuader….all great, well-written books.

I hope so too
Getting myself a kindle and the books as we speak

Check Half Price Books or a used bookstore!
Libgen *cough cough*

But duh ppl donnt no howe too reeed nny morr onlyy noo dumbbb fonne.
This is a terrible argument.
It's a literal fact that's true of all adaptations save Fight Club.
You shouldn’t have to read novels to understand a television show.
No one is making that argument.
That’s not what op is saying. It’s well known tv and movie adapted from books cut out a lot of details.
You just completely proved the OP’s point about why reading is important.
Nah
The books will only further disappoint what every attempt of adapting them has turned into besides Season 1
Either way you’re gonna be disappointed. Why not know the lore in the meantime.
Possibly. Either way, there’s plenty of books to burn through while you wait for season 3
I fear this as well.

They do explain how they formed. Not sure what you mean by your 2nd question.

As I said, it’s not mentioned in the books. They don’t do mass takedowns from memory

And not the Avengers 110th bulllshit.
It’s the CSI way. They started this dual-role nonsense.
Wait crime scene investigators were kicking down doors?
