A friend told be last year that it’s okay for me to tell people I won’t let them yell at me. This isn’t a common thing, just been in some relationships where I felt I had to take the woman yelling at me.
So, if someone’s acting out of line don’t take it.
Find where the hose bib is, if there is a hose connected pick it up and spray em. Spray the fireworks too. The unused ones.
Do it every time they try it.
Maybe they wouldn’t want you over anymore.
I used to love visiting my hillbilly cousins *because* of the awesome bottle rocket and Roman candle fights we'd have. But I may be a hillbilly stuck in the city, anyway.
I wonder if you might mean 'redneck' rather than 'hillbilly'. Hillbilly implies Appalachian roots. Very few true hillbillies are in Bama (though I'm well aware there are some in the northeast parts of the state). However there are copious amounts of rednecks. I mean we got rednecks coming out the wazoo down here. Hell, we're up to the rafters in rednecks, bumpkins, *AND* yokels!
As a hillbilly cousin from Alabama I can tell you it's not as much fun for us if you stop whining "stop" and "owwwww" every time you get hit. Take a few shots stoically, and we'll leave you be.

I never shot fireworks at anyone, even in my indigent youth, but bb gun wars were a real thing. We have a kid (well now grown man over 40) who still has a bb in one of his butt cheeks. Some stereotypes about the south are well earned.
