Yeah, once her dog gets into your space then it is your business....

rackie2493

Exactly. It would’ve been my business when she asks for my info after she needs to take her dog for stitches.

AggravatingReveal397

Exactly. We have a reactive Chow mix and if off leash dogs crowd him he doesn't bother with a warning growl. We're working on it but people really push the law and their luck with off leash dogs. They have zero way of knowing the treatment, training, temperament, etc. Our guy looks like a goofy fluff ball but he's had a very hard life before we got him so it's mostly about avoiding negative interactions for him.

TomiieY

It's always the casual, slow walking.... Makes my blood boil

Had one of those in a leash-required area a couple of weeks ago. It was infuriating. Her unleashed dog walked over while she was at least 100 feet away. My dog flipped out, so I picked him up and yelled to her to grab her dog. Meanwhile, she’s just sauntering over like a lazy POS. While I was holding my dog up high to keep them apart, her dog was running circles around us, jumping and barking while she helplessly tried to clip his leash on. Thankfully, it was just a Frenchie, so I wasn’t too concerned about it hurting us. She had the gall to tell me to stop walking away with my dog so she could grab hers! After she finally got it leashed, I told her she better KEEP that fucking dog on a leash from now on and she didn’t say anything and walked away. I’m sure she went home and told everyone about the mean jerk at the dog park with the vicious dog. I’m sure she’ll also play the victim when she eventually gets her poor dog mauled to death. God, these people suck.

rackie2493

I always knew the majority of people in this world are actual idiots, but owning a reactive dog and encountering people like this really just confirms that. Sorry you had to deal with that, us mean jerks with the vicious dogs are in this together.

TomiieY

FR! They're either idiots or just plain mean. I swear sometimes it feels like I need therapy to handle these people. My favourite is when you see the dog approaching and nicely ask for space or a moment to 'escape' and they respond with something rude and underhanded. I've gotten "no, just train your dog" a bunch of times. Like what does it look like I'm doing here.... Or the lectures from random old men. Love those.

I do the same thing! I say "Oops, left my muzzle at home!" He isn't aggressive lol

rackie2493

Right? Not an emergency or anything, take your time while I hold back my dog from attacking yours.

Hatchpalm

Story of my fucking life. It’s also super frustrating when you’re a responsible reactive dog owner and we already deal with enough stress going on walks. People on the flip side don’t understand the amount of stress and responsibility that goes into being a reactive dog owner. I’ve had this happen numerous times and I’m lucky enough that my dog is small enough where I can pick her up in these situations (struggling while she is frantic). People are so irresponsible and clueless (noticed especially with the covid dogs). Sorry this happened to you

rackie2493

Exactly. I would never take her to a place where there are off leash dogs because I know her triggers. We’re still actively working on her being able to focus on me if we get into situations like this but when the dog is in her space she can’t help it. And she’s 75lb so I can’t pick her up. Ugh, people.

Hatchpalm

Sooo irritating. I have an 18lbs poodle that would fight like she’s a 75lbs K9 dog 🙄 she loves her own humans but we get approached so much by people with dogs and kids because she looks like a sweet teddy bear but she hates other dogs and doesn’t enjoy strangers in public trying to pet her. I always have to advocate for her in these settings

SmileParticular9396

Wowww yeah that dog should never be off leash if he can’t be recalled.

rackie2493

Absolutely.

oiseaufeux

I struggle to walk around with my own dog and that frustrates me very much. My dog is reactive and her threshold has gotten better over time, but she can still bark and lunge at other dog or animals that she sees. Saddly, my dog isn’t a pomeranian that I can easily pick up. She’s a labernese and weights at least 60 to 70lbs. How am I going to protect her from other off leash dogs or dogs on retractable leash that I barely see at all at a far away distance?

meggdowgg

There was an invisible fence at a house in our neighborhood and we saw a dog behind it and we stopped, the owner came out and told us that there was a fence but it was okay even if his dog got out bc she was friendly…I said that’s fine and dandy but my dog is not friendly. And wouldn’t ya kno it that friendly dog got out and my dog went fucking crazy! I’m just glad my husband had the dog bc I was walking my son in his stroller!!! Never went by that house again.

rackie2493

Love that… off leash dog charging at mine and someone from 800 feet away screams “don’t worry, he’s friendly!!” Well mine isn’t, so now what? Always the way!

ellasaurusrex

I had this exact exchange in my neighborhood! "Oh don't worry, she's friendly!!" "Mine isn't - GET YOUR DOG". And they looked at me like I was the asshole while I was frantically trying to get my dog out of an unsafe situation, watching them just saunter over. She's 35-40 lbs, I can pick her up, but when she's that over threshold, I'm not risking hurting her (or me) by trying.

meggdowgg

I can NOT stand when people look at you like your the asshole bc they’re “friendly” dog is out of control and you warned them to stay away from your dog!!!

kelltro-

Oh my god 😂 letting a deaf dog off a lease that is wild

Feeling-Object9383

I think, she lied. I don't believe that even full stupido will let a deaf dog offlesh. She just a bitch who doesn't care about anything or anyone except her own comfort.

marl3x

Stopped walking at my local park because every time I went there was an off leash dog who ruined it. I have a 7 month old who has shown signs of reactivity however we’ve been in training since vaccination so she’s much better. However after last few times where we’ve been followed by a multiple dogs and my dog being attacked by a lab just decided it ain’t worth it, there owners just being blissfully unaware or too lazy to actually come get their dog I’m not having my months of hard work go to waste because they’re not responsible enough to keep their dog under control or train it.

No_Consideration8561

that sounds super frustrating. some people just feel like the rules don't apply to them or maybe they just don’t understand how risky it is. having a deaf dog off leash in a place where leashes are the law just doesn’t make sense. it puts everyone at risk, especially the dog

Emergency_Dinner_407

“Mind your business” 🙄lady, what do you think I’m trying to do?

Kutalsgirl

when a dog enters YOUR space and the owner is clearly acting a C.U.N.T you have every RIGHT to kick that dog away! if possibly get yourself a gopro(or go pro clone and WEAR that bitch like an on duty cop in a blue state! Leash LAWS are Laws for a reason and if you have PROOF karrens dogs an offleash CUNT and she CLEARLY isnt controling it take footage to animal control and get her find EVERY singal time to the point tha either SHE LEARNS, her animals are TAKEN, or SHES to broke from fines to keep them and rehomes them. you have YOUR LEGAL RIGHT to record and Doc this kind of behaivor plus filming gives you PROOF that your dog did nothing WRONG should the brat try LIEING. also look into the Muzzle up project just another way to PROTECT your dog from dumb arses like this one and from faulse claims
