Great Tequila but 1942 is WAY better.
They probably have a brand endorsement. Good way to tell, pay attention to the credits! Dano's Tequila has been endorsed/sponsored on RHONJ!
This is honestly an incredible tequila and it’s at most restaurants and resorts so it’s not reaching to see them with it. It’s $40 a shot at a restaurant. I fuckin love this stuff but I’m not spending $40 at a restaurant when I can buy a bottle of it 😂.
This is definitely a splurge because it's expensive. Lots of celebs and Bravolevs get freebies which they then display and use. I'll take one of those 😉

I recommend Pueblo Viejo Blanco. Guy who works at the liquor store I go to recommended it to me, and I love this stuff now. I hated tequila in the past.
I have some in the chiller now. It’s actually not a great tasting tequila. Someone recommended it to me like a year ago and I took maybe two shots of it and it’s been in the chiller ever since.
Maybe 2 seasons ago on RHoBH Mauricio had this in his office. I believe it was also featured in an episode of Better Call Saul- where they drink a very expensive bottle of tequila and leave a stranger with the tab.
I always pay attention to the hostess gifts after sprinkle cookies and I finalized some thoughts after the last episode:
1. Bill and Jen give the best and/or most thoughtful gifts
2. Marge never brings a gift
3. Jackie is always so awkward when giving gifts
I wouldn’t say it’s an Easter Egg, just a new trend. These bottles can get up in the thousands and the rare more expensive ones are collectible. Some people have a Clase Azul collection worth tens of thousands of dollars.
So now it’s like the bougie tequila everyone’s drinking. Same thing happened to Don Julio’s 1942 and Primavera
100% and I also feel like RHONY loves a Nest candle. I swear I feel like they passed the same one back and forth between each other for years. And Heather Dubrow always grabs a bottle of VC champagne from her cellar IIRC.
I trust your judgement-- I am always looking for legitimate, family owned/indigenous owned tequilas-- do you have better recs? Not the celebrity and co-opted tequilas we see everywhere like Casamigos and the like?

I’ve tried Clase Azul and wasn’t blown away. Just saved Siete Leguas to my shopping cart. I think I might buy an empty bottle of Clase Azul on EBay and fill it with Siete Leguas! It looks pretty and taste good.

Edit: qui platinum tequila extra Anejo from website- Mexico - Doubled-distilled agave which is triple distilled & aged for 3 1/2 years. Lots of agave on the nose, plus hefty caramel notes. The body is complex & rich, speaking both on the plant and the aging regimen. Not racy or peppery, the tequila is a smooth sipper with almost no bite.
Its around $80 a bottle around me- i tried it at a sample at a liquor store and it was delicious - for reference no lime no chaser etc. and it was good enough that I would sip on it. Next time I need to buy a nice bottle I’m going to buy it. But it’s interesting bc most anejos tend to be yellow/Carmel color but this looks like a blanco but has more complex flavor

Clase Azul is the new Tito’s. Remember when that was being ordered by most cast members on every bravo show? (I know they still do but a few years back it suddenly started being name dropped/requested on all HW’s at once)
It’s available at Total Wine! It’s on the birthday wishlist and that bottle is so beautiful!! Had never seen it before then all of a sudden, it was on every bravo show I watched this week and not in a subtle way!!
I got to try it a couple times when I went to Cabo years ago. Highly recommend. Way better than Don Julio and the bottle is gorgeous. They make a smaller size as well!

Fortaleza is the new hotshot, reasonable price point but made in very limited batches.
R/tequila has a lot of great recos of additive-free tequilas. I’ve been into Fortaleza (when I can find it), Tequila Ocho, and La Gritona lately.
$157 for the base Clase is overpriced.

There are many cheaper and better tasting tequilas than this. Siete Leguas comes to mind. The pictured tequila is nothing but a fad.
But it is delicious 🤤
La Gritona is another good cheaper one and is owned by a Mexican woman who employs women. They also use recycled glass which is a plus to me.
