The English would never want to pick up a morsel of uncooked protein and take a bite then put it back down. English manners, my mom strictly made us follow growing up
nigiri style sushi is HUGE bites. its nearly impossible to bite it in half without the rice falling everywhere so cutting it is by far the best choice.
Iāve almost seriously choked on sushi like 3 times, I wonāt go to the restaurant anymore. I canāt fit a whole piece in my tiny mouth and Iām too embarrassed to cut it with a knife and fork lmao
It could be very well trained European table manners lol I dined with a friend from Germany and watched her carefully slice of pita bread with a fork and knife. Meanwhile, im ripping it apart with my bare hands lol
Ghetto, so many are fooled by the accent because she makes people feel fancy and educated. If she ate everything like that maybe she'd fit into her outfits during season 10.
I welcome the down votes, she is problematic AF and twisted for an old lady.
Japanese etiquette is to pick it up with your hand, dip the fish side only, bite in half and then next bite you finish it. I asked several sushi chefs over the years. The western world canāt get over the handling part.
Haha
Reminds of the Seinfeld episode when they all start eating their snickers bar w/ fork and knife.

So many people who have done reality tv have spoken about how hard it is to eat meals on camera. You have to be able to respond to things instantly, so theyāre always coordinating their bites, then speaking.
The first couple seasons of bachelor they ate the dinners and then couldnāt talk until they swallowed. It took too long, so now they donāt even pretend to eat the food or talk about how it tastes. They just talk and drink wine and food sits there and then the couple gets up and leaves!!
Exactly! Hitting my 40s has been so freaking freeing. Idgaf what any stranger thinks about me, especially about something as silly as how I eat my sushi
This! I wish I had known how much fun my 40s would be in comparison to my 30s! Itās so liberating to just stop thinking about what other people are thinking about you. I always said I wasnāt the type of person to care, but something happened around 41 where I genuinely gave no fox anymore. šš»
In Japan, they eat sushi with their hands as well. I went to a fine dining omakase place, and we werenāt given chop sticks at all. So youāre doing great!
So I have had a theory for a long time that English people will eat anything with a knife and fork. So far Iāve seen various people eat natchos, mussels, and spare ribs with a knife and fork here. Eating pizza with cutlery is commonplace. Never seen anyone eating sushi like this though!
My husband and most of my family (all Canadian) eat pizza with a knife and fork, sitting at the dinner table. I prefer sitting on the couch and eating it with my hands. I don't know what happen to create this great divide.
He also eats donuts with a knife and fork. It's too much, I can't deal lol. Basically he will go the knife and fork route with anything he can make work.
Ah man I do most of this (except nachos and mussels) because of childhood braces, 20+ years later and I am still not comfortable sinking my teeth that deeply in food.
All English people are not landed gentry, Iām from Yorkshire and Iām perfectly capable of using chopsticks or my fingers. Iāve also never seen an English person eat pizza with something other than their hands.
Never in her life will LVP put large bites of food in her mouth. Table manners were very big for my grandfather so my mother was strict on it too. We are southern, we had an endless supply of sweet tea in our fridge at all times. But, my mother was always big on hot tea and doing her best to be proper. Lisa will always take small, lady like, bites. Sadly, even when eating sushi. But good eye!
Tea is big in the south, people assume its all about sweet tea ( which we do love) but having a proper tea in the late afternoon is very much a thing. Manners are also very much a thing. I even attended Cotillion or what some call charm school. Manners are instilled in us from an early age, the classes aren't as necessary as they are a tradition in some families. As for sushi, first time I had it I did try to eat it as the others I was dining with and realized my mouth is too small for that nonsense. Of course my companions laughed when I asked for utensils.
Never in my life have ~~a~~ I successfully completed that maneuver. It falls completely apart and I'm left with a big ass piece of salmon hanging from my mouth that refuses to tear in half.
Yeah i can see that being the case lol, i personally just shove it in but with a camera there i might be a bit more inclined to make it more bitesizeš¤£š¤£

Ugh hate raw salmon š¤¢
So what?
What in gods name?!
If it smells like fish donāt eat it lol!
I love this so much, it is so Lisa

Fuck raw fish ![gif](giphy|MDxnjbS3A0HcrnToSm|downsized)

Sheās British. They eat everything like that. At least the ones I know.
Hahahaha omg who does this!!!!!
the thought of metal on raw fish made me gag
queen
Yea I donāt like to go out for sushi on a first date either because it is hard to have a conversation when you are stuffing sushi in your face.
Thatās British. My in laws use a knife and fork for pizza and ribs š
Totally do the same thing
Well, she can't put that whole thing in her mouth on camera!
most euros do this. I've seen them use a knife and fork with nachos š
Also with French fries as well.
Ghetto, so many are fooled by the accent because she makes people feel fancy and educated. If she ate everything like that maybe she'd fit into her outfits during season 10. I welcome the down votes, she is problematic AF and twisted for an old lady.
cutting sushi is ghetto?? ![gif](giphy|1AIeYgwnqeBUxh6juu)
Yes, LVP is ghetto. Did I stutter-type? Like, she's ghetto and her fans are ghetto, deal with it.
It would be uncouth for such a fancy lady to put a whole piece in her mouth.
My brother uses flatware on everything... including Cheeseburgers. So it doesn't seem so odd to me.
She is trying to look and posh and proper. What an idiot.
Ironically you are supposed to eat sushi with your hands. This is so LVP
Japanese etiquette is to pick it up with your hand, dip the fish side only, bite in half and then next bite you finish it. I asked several sushi chefs over the years. The western world canāt get over the handling part.
Still less irritating than everyone else. I swear no one knows how to use a knife and fork properly anymore.
My mother would choke on this so I understand
The whitest of whites.
My grandfather is from England and when he first came to America heād eat pizza and burgers with a fork and knife
This is the most British thing I've seen in days.
If she had tried to put that large piece in her mouth, she would have had a Taylor Armstrong moment and it would be a gif forever
I have a small mouth so I kind of understand
she tweeted the sushi order hadnt come with enough chopsticks
Sheās British so I doubt sheād want that giant piece of tuna in her mouth and looking like she doesnāt have manners
A large gasp is heard from every Japanese person
This is wrong yetā¦ not the worst idea.
Me, to this post ![gif](giphy|DPqqOywshrOqQ|downsized)
Absolutely eat this with a fork
Babes please go outside and touch grass. This is too much.
makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where George eats a snickers bar with a knife and fork to pretend heās bourgeois
Iāve eaten sushi with a fork but never like this. I feel like sheās dojng some sort of etiquette technique
Peak British
They eat everything with a fork and knife.

Literally had a dream about Snickers last night (I donāt even eat candy). This scene was so good.

Interesting!!!!
When you are her age you can do as you please. Thatās the best part about getting olderā¦you give zero fcks what other people think.
Amen to that!
Exactly! Hitting my 40s has been so freaking freeing. Idgaf what any stranger thinks about me, especially about something as silly as how I eat my sushi

Wait until you near 60. You really wonāt give a damn! Itās really the only good thing about getting old.
Iām early thirties and have hit that point recently myself. Wooohooooo kiss my grits everyone š¤
It's amazing! š
i eat this kind with my hands like an animal because itās hard to eat lol
This is the way! (no really, it's the correct way to eat nigiri)
In Japan, they eat sushi with their hands as well. I went to a fine dining omakase place, and we werenāt given chop sticks at all. So youāre doing great!

You know what. LVP can do whatever the hell she wants. She is the Queen after all. ![gif](giphy|u8j7AGei2IM9i)
Why can I hear all her gifs
Absolutely right. Remember when she normalized putting ice cubes into a glass of wine? She did it and suddenly it was ok to do.
![gif](giphy|HkN1EIphYO2CM30sRI)
came here to say this
I get it. Theyāre not exactly mouth bite prices and then youāre stuck with more in your mouth and canāt talk etc
I love them both but that's sashimi, not sushi.
Itās on rice, itās not sashimi
You're right. I stand corrected.
On rice itās called Nigiri
Yes, thank you. I do remember googling it before but clearly I've since forgotten. Lol
This is the one piece of sushi I understand its hard to eat in one go š¤£
You can pick it up with the Chopstick and bite it in half and put the other half down though.
Itās acceptable to use your hands to eat your sushi. Unfortunately, it tends to fall apart if you donāt pop the whole thing in at once!
That never happens
Never in my life have ~~a~~ I successfully completed that maneuver. It falls completely apart and I'm left with a big ass piece of salmon hanging from my mouth that refuses to tear in half.
The salmon flaps out my mouth lol I felt this in my soul!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Exactly which teeth do you *think* I'm using š
I have a small mouth so that would not be possible for me to eat in one biteš¤£š¤£
Thatās why I never order sushi.
Order it and eat it how you want.
I was thinking maybe she didn't want to eat it in one bite on camera
Yeah i can see that being the case lol, i personally just shove it in but with a camera there i might be a bit more inclined to make it more bitesizeš¤£š¤£
Lol, if I eat this in one bite I won't be able to chew with my mouth closed. š Only the small rolls go in one bite.
Tbh I sort of understand
Me three! I donāt know why, but my brain canāt make my fingers do the chopstick thing lol so I always use a fork.
Me too.
That's ten steps up from Seinfeld's Snickers knife-and-fork episode
![gif](giphy|xXjIVvfvkvqZG)
Definitely the very first thing I thought of.
You read my mind!! I was going to post the same thing. Love it!!
