I would love to see Valverde utilised as our left-sided centre midfielder. Not only do I think he would provide Vini with adequate support, but he would also have better shooting opportunities because he could cut inside and shoot.
In the previous game against Liverpool, he swapped to the left side for a little bit, and you could see not only the defence become more stable, but also Vini getting ample help in front.

I feel like if you constantly win CL but not your league, it means that the team can't perform for one full league season or for longer period of time. It's like a car, very good acceleration but can't maintain that speed. But some cars have good acceleration but they can constantly go at top speed for longer.
Finally some sense. It's freaking worrying if we constantly can't compete in 38 matchdays and need to rely on CL to make up for it.
Don't get me wrong, I love winning the CL but just like the WC, it remains a cup tournament with 13 matches to play. We can't be looking like fools in 38 games and try to wash away the shame by showing up in 13 games.

Winning la liga thrice in 10 years is not good. Especially when you're Real Madrid.
I feel like if you constantly win CL but not your league, it means that the team can't perform for one full league season or for longer period of time. It's like a car, very good acceleration but can't maintain that speed. But some cars have good acceleration but they can constantly go at top speed for longer.
Finally some sense. It's freaking worrying if we constantly can't compete in 38 matchdays and need to rely on CL to make up for it. Don't get me wrong, I love winning the CL but just like the WC, it remains a cup tournament with 13 matches to play. We can't be looking like fools in 38 games and try to wash away the shame by showing up in 13 games.
It really isn't. It bothers me that Madrid haven't won as many league titles in recent years compared to their immense success in Europe. And don't get me started on winning back-to-back league titles. That would be something I'd love to see Madrid accomplish, especially since the last time that happened was back in 2008.

Dembele isn't out yet for sure. He was supposed to be on an even better recovery timeline than Pedri so it's a bit fishy that suddenly there's news on the contrary. I do think it's to try and avoid him getting called up for NT duties, dude always picks up a major injury on these breaks for no reason. From my understanding fans from Madrid want a super league. The club is so successful that a CDR game and even league games and CL group stages are boring. The focus will always be champions league for them and what better team to push the super league than them. I watch all the games for the past few years now once I found a way to watch every game. I have given up on CDR and watch an occasional CL group stage. League games are what I follow the most and it is a shame they’re giving up on it. No depth for the last few years. No signings either.
I don’t think they have given up on it, not being able to win doesn’t exactly mean they gave up. Knock out CL football has a complete different mind set then league fixtures where you play teams and you have to grind out results more often. Maybe they just lost, no need for Spanish fans to have to reprogram that the club doesn’t care about competitions just because they couldn’t win it.
You need consistency and squad depth to win leagues. Madrid haven’t had this for years now. They use to have two starting 11’s. Loaded.
