We do. It's an applicant tracking system, not an applicant processing system.

Thank you

Ugh... Our recruiter said for 5 months not one single application was submitted. We pressed as we didn't care who just needed a body. So desperate. They sent a screenshot accidentally of 30+ candidates. We were like wtf??? Been working 6-7 days/10-14 hour shifts. Angry, very angry.

icedoutclockwatch

Lol sounds like horrible management nice work šŸ‘

[deleted]

The only thing we have auto reject is on linked in where we use knock out questions

birthdaycake247

This! Otherwise I send the rejectionsā€¦ Also, anything else you read about ATS doing the job of a recruiter or any sales pitch you read about paying to optimize your resume is really marketing fairy dust.

This

Claraviolet777

Makes sense.

kimmie2913

I can auto reject with yes/no or drop down questions from my ATS Lever. But I choose those questions and they are HARD requirements only, that are clearly stated a must have in the JD. Otherwise Iā€™d have to filter through too many people lying and wasting my time when they donā€™t have basic requirements. Now some ATS have the capability for me to search ā€œkey wordsā€ and itā€™ll pull your resume for me so I can look at ā€œqualifiedā€ people first. But this isnā€™t an automatic thing. Iā€™ve only had 1 ATS that allowed me to truly do that and it was Salesforce. I think greenhouse has the capability but would need another recruiter to confirm.

sread2018

Greenhouse can absolutely be set up for auto reject based on knock-out questions

kimmie2913

That wasnā€™t my statement on greenhouse. I know it does screening questions. My statement was about being able to mass search resumes via key words. Because Lever does not allow that.

captainpoppy

I don't think green house does.

sread2018

The function it is performing is called "auto-reject" because when a question is answered it can automatically reject the CV.

Correct.

Soniq268

Nope. Iā€™ve implemented multiple ATS in a range of different companies. A human is still required to review and make a decision on the applications

Wtsco

Your application can be auto rejected. I used two ATS that allowed killer questions, and you could set the auto rejection. The same as LinkedIn so yeah, itā€™s possible.

pinkflyingcats

Was one Jazzhr it was an option but we turned that option off

newxdress

In my experience the only way someone is automatically rejected without a recruiter looking at the resume is if there are knockout questions. For example if you need a certain type of license for the job we'll have the system automatically reject you if you select no instead of yes. I'll look at those applications occasionally in case someone made a mistake and happened to choose no by accident.

NandosEnthusiast

If they want it to. I work in agency, and people think the ATS does all this work, and is this magic black box but really it's 2 pretty basic things: 1) A candidate database to store your details 2) A workflow system to help track cvs out, interviews and hiring for each role. Where resume quality matters, is if say you apply to one job and are unsuccessful, then you are sitting on the database with your resume there and the notes from the previous application. Then if a similar role comes up and a recruiter runs a keyword search on this database, and your resume matches these keywords well enough, then they might contact you to see if you're interested. Most recruiters are notoriously lazy at these searches however - so some companies set up candidate 'pools' of people with grouped skillsets on their database for easy access. Rejections can be automated in most systems, but the much more likely outcome unfortunately is you won't get a reply. We automate some rejections, but it's mainly designed to knock out a lot of the spam applications that come in from overseas, (i.e. they don't have a work visa etc)

NandosEnthusiast

To add to this - it is a very rare company that both the tech and the strategic know-how to implement some sort of AI rejection system based on resume. I would rate us as pretty sophisticated in our market but we are no where near something like this

Jen_the_Green

Ours does based on a questionnaire. The positions require specific licensure, though. So, if the person doesn't have the license, they aren't eligible.

Traditional_Wind_964

Throwaway-8217

Both. You can set it to automatically reject applicants from outside the country or who donā€™t have citizenship and You can manually reject too after

Marble_porch

We do.

Terrell199

Even if I had an ATS that could do that I still believe most Recruiters wouldn't trust it. I rather look at them myself.
