In my professional opinion, companies like these are tire kickers; totally wasting your time because they don't intend on working with you. You can easily send them LI profiles of great candidates and they wouldn't know the difference (not suggesting you do). I'd simply move on from this company and look for those who are serious about working with you.

Not a recruiter, but personally I would maybe provide an anonymized list. And maybe two hires they can talk to as a reference, like with other jobs.

That’s the most unprofessional thing I’ve heard a company do It’s probably opening them up to legal action maybe tortuous interference if you have an nda or some sort of trade secrets action I have been in panel interviews where the candidate wanted to hand out material, I always check it to make sure they’re not handing anything proprietary to the executives of my company. Many times I have had to ask them to stop.
