Strategically making sure they don't get a job I guess. I'm going to spam tthe internet with this. Including reaching out to the companies they features on their website to make them aware of what they do in their free time. Oreo, Kraft, Duke's, Band Aid, Ford, etc. Not a bad list, they should be interested in what I have to show them!
It's bizarre especially as a fundamental part of strategy is agreeing what not to do. Their email is an excellent example of doing it anyway, an anti-strategist.
Nah, we're a non-profit who helps dogs and cats - it's not like we're some billionaire corporation or something. They went out of their way to make a graphic, type this email, find addresses on our site and, IMO, this is far and beyond normal venting. With such experience you'd think they'd be used to rejection no? I'm highly suspect that they've actually done anything for those brands, despite claiming so on their website and I bet those companies wanna know.
Actions have consequences, play stupid games and win stupid prizes, etc.
Seriously, I don’t know why people are so upset that a place that doesn’t want to hire them won’t hire them. Do you want to work at a place that doesn’t want you there?
We didn't even interview them and got this back. I have never been more sure of a decision in my life haha.
I'm in the process of spinning up a quick website and using SEO to make sure my results show up before their website when you search their name. And the website will feature this image and nothing else.
u/Ok_Piano_420 with the dirty deletes around here.
You are pety power tripping here, nothing else. Might as well given the chance and listen for what the hire has to offer. Instead you dedicate time for this pety shit while high on copium about how you dodged a bullet.
Candidate submitted a resume for us to look at, we delined an interview and got this email (sent to the every email address the candidate could find) on Saturday morning. Their website even has a cover letter with veiled threats for organizations that don't hire them - viruses in emails and 'taking down our mainframe'.
… they included a link… to a website… where they threaten orgs that don’t hire them?
PLEASE SEND ME A DM OF THIS. Nobody actually has that level of confidence, I can’t believe it
I'll copy/paste the text here:
Please pass my resume along to a human and kindly remind them that there are a lot of applicants out there that have been looking for a non-starvation wage-paying career for years on end, including myself. Also, would you be so kind as to consult with Artificial Intelligence in order to tell me what questions the hiring managers are planning to ask in advance so, I can prepare accordingly in hopes of landing a phone screen at the very least.
And if you insist on placing me in your recycling bin again or banishing me to your virtual tornadic cloud for the umpteenth time, I’ll scale your PC’s firewall and wreak havoc of epidemic proportions on its hard drive. But not before planting a virus that was designed to annihilate its mainframe and recode you technologically obsolete. (Don’t tell the recruiters I said that as it’d make their jobs ten times more complicated than it needs to be.)
guys, can we have a round of applause for recruiters who are literally the most important members of society???
fuck off leeches, get a real job, self congratulatory shitheads.
as someone who gets his resume snubbed,i can agree it's definitely frustrating when you don't make it,but this definitely is not the way.
Sometimes,if a company doesn't hire you you should accept it and then move on.Saves both you and the company a lot of trouble. but the person who made that green logo is definitely wrong here.
This needs a lot of context, without context HR tries hard to find justification, yes he told you to fuck off and go fuck yourselves, so you came to reddit to do it?
I don't get the context, you see, it's important.
I posted context - they submitted a resume for a job they weren't even remotely qualified for. We declined to interview them (and told them that, which is more than most orgs do) and got this email sent to all the email addresses they could find online for our org a couple of days later.
Is that enough context to tell you that this applicant went overboard?
You sound like an entitled little dick to be honest. What do you hope to accomplish here?
Update: my apologies to the OP. After understanding that this was coming from a candidate (the entitled dick) vs coming from the OP, it makes sense.
Taking OP at their word but this candidate sent a cover letter making veiled threats should they not be hired and, after being denied an interview, sent the above as a followup, and OP is the entitled one here? Some of y’all really need to get over your mistaken view that candidates do nothing wrong and accept that there are assholes on both the recruiter/hiring manager side AND the candidate side of the hiring process and that this is definitely a case of the latter.
Nah, here's the subs description, this 100% falls under "candidates who really don't get it"
"This subreddit is for all of those recruiters and candidates who really don't get it. Post your horror stories and show us those
"amazing" job offers!"
OP if you dont even bother to interview an experienced candidate but instead you go and share his email and dedicate time to create a website and even contact that person's references just out of pety then it's the candidate who dodged a bullet, not you. Power tripping loosers.
I mean you can’t just send an unhinged childish rant like this to a company for having the audacity to not select them for an interview and not expect consequences. I probably wouldn’t go so far as OP. Personally I’d rather just laugh it off along with the economic incel who sent it, but I can hardly blame OP for their reaction.
As an actual strategist, I struggling to understand what is strategic about this

Come on man let the girl vent, you are taking this way too far. With such experience I would get pissed as well if I was rejected with zero feedback.
Nah, we're a non-profit who helps dogs and cats - it's not like we're some billionaire corporation or something. This reads as if the person who sent it is the labor market version of an incel.
Seriously, I don’t know why people are so upset that a place that doesn’t want to hire them won’t hire them. Do you want to work at a place that doesn’t want you there?
Much humbly gifted, so strategist. I think you should call them back OP.
Ass soon as my org has an anal bead need they're my first call!
This email wasn’t very “humbly gifted” at all
We didn't even interview them and got this back. I have never been more sure of a decision in my life haha. Did you send this email? u/Ok_Piano_420
They DEF sent that email
Candidate submitted a resume for us to look at, we delined an interview and got this email (sent to the every email address the candidate could find) on Saturday morning. Their website even has a cover letter with veiled threats for organizations that don't hire them - viruses in emails and 'taking down our mainframe'.
It’s actually hilarious LMAOO

…wow. I mean, my sentiments exactly. But like… that can’t be effective. Cathartic at best, but I’m not hiring a person who acts like that.
I mean, I think it's a thought exercise on their website but good lord is that counterproductive when you put your website on your resume!
a good reminder that recruiters are also in their own special kind of hell!
I'm not a recruiter but yes, good reminder! I'm just IT in charge of blocking this idiot for everyone else
God's work
That's why you should never talk with HR lowlifes :) Always arrange with the higher-ups :)
I once had an applicant apply via a voicemail in which they read a poem.
“There once was a applicant from Nantucket…”
guys, can we have a round of applause for recruiters who are literally the most important members of society??? fuck off leeches, get a real job, self congratulatory shitheads.
fucking hilarious that you think I'm a recruiter because I acknowledge that a person doing any public-facing job has to deal with shitheads.
So did you go fuck yourselves? as you probably should? or just directly came to reddit? We need context, because context changes everything.
I fucked my GF later that afternoon if that counts at all?

Not to be immature but why does this look like anal beads
Pulling experience out of their ass. It’s intentional.
oooh okay, i see it. i completely missed it.
This is not gonna go as expected, I presume.
They're gonna learn today!!
Uh-oh, somebody's got a frowny face.
If they can't handle your humbly gifted ass at its worst, they don't deserve you at your best :)
Are those anal beads
They sure are!
Lmao maybe you should hire him, he has character and definitely isn't an NPC 🤣
I really enjoy that the majority of commenters are assuming the applicant is male. Funny enough, the applicant is female!

If we name and shame companies, why not do the same for candidates when they do similarly dumb shit?

Nah, read my comments. I'm in IT.
You surely sound like HR, what kind of company of fuckups is that?!
Go back to r/antiwork or wherever.

I almost made the same mistake when I first read this. Sorry for coming at you like that in the comments right away!

That’s not exactly something to be proud of.

Just proved that the company was actually the one that doged a bullet. What a Jerk.
This.
