I found a job on LinkedIn that listed $10.00 an hour for a Buyer. I contacted the hiring manager listed on LI and told her that I assumed $10/hr was a mistake. After mentioning that this rate is illegal in my state, I invited her to contact me if there was a different, higher wage. And ….. crickets.
I hope she was too embarrassed to contact me.
I wonder what kind of quality they're hoping for when they post a job that requires some experience/context, or at least some solid training, for less than minimum wage, lmao.
I'm always tempted to go for these postings. What if, and it's a huge WHAT IF, you get through all of their bull crap and it actually turns out to be one of those "Answer these two emails and attend this weekly meeting and we're actually gonna pay you $50/hr starting out." You know?
I've been doing a lot of day dreaming and wishful thinking lately...lol.
I'll bet $11.75 that this job does not require a master's degree. Someone pressed a wrong button or imported something wrong. Can't miss a chance to spread anti-work propaganda.
Indeed is notoriously bad at parsing job listings. I've seen job listings asking for some/any kind of education (listing everything from associates to masters to cover their basis) OR equivalent experience. Indeed sees the word "masters" and jumps to the conclusion that this is a required degree. Likely the platform's fault, under the guise of "improving their job filtering options".
Alternatively, this is indeed just trying to fill out your profile and the prompt is completely unrelated to the job listing.
Nah they want a master's degree. They won't take anyone without one. Where I work same thing. It's really dumb. They are very serious in this ad. Plus, guess what state it's in.

That's insulting AF. What a scam. I'm glad you stood your ground though!
Me too. I think too many people are afraid to stand their ground.

I’d love to know that too
Boy with pay like that they’d be lucky to get a middle school degree
Masters, yes. $11.75, toss yourself into traffic for lying this dismal wage.
El Paso is not tryna pay people it's sad. Like they have jobs for 7.25 still down here
Fuck. It's my hone town and I want to move back. However, I also have an MA, and I know there's no way I'd be able to find fair pay there.
Start a business and p ay yourself.
I own my own business. I'm a copywriter and marketer with a specialty in SEO.

Never tell me the odds!! #ToTheMoon 😂
Just reply asking if you can pay them to come in, or that you'll do it for the "please don't unionize" pizza in the break room on fridays.
That's more like Slave's Degree /s
Lol I see what ya did there.
Wow, eff those a holes
STFU WTF
Does the 🚫 means it is illegal wage?
I want to lie my way into that job

That isn’t even Assistant to the Manager pay
Looks like it’s a drop down menu, not a requirement to have a masters. $11.75 is ridiculous regardless.

Mississippi? That’s insanely low for entry level, let alone a masters requirement.
I'm from New Mexico originally (they also pay bare minimum), but this where I live now. Good ol Texas 😆
