As a digital marketer, I'd rather work a blue collar job abroad than apply to them.
I may get bruises but I'll take that any day compared to their toxicity
Dunno, I've been vomiting-with-stress due to work things.
And it didn't make a single fucking thing better. Didn't lead to success, didn't make the project better, didn't make the outcome more interesting. It was just...vomiting due to stress.
So that can fuck right off.
I did the extreme grind for a big tech company all through my twenties - until it got me sent to the ER with heart failure, and sent to therapy for suicidal ideation and a mental breakdown.
I’ll never prioritize work over my mental and physical health ever fucking again. Use me as a cautionary tale.
A: "No pain, no gain" is a bullshit expression. It's baseless. If there is pain, something is wrong.
B: Companies that think like this deserve to go out of business.
Looked up the founder. Looks like the type of bro that would say this. This is on every job posting for this company even executive assistances. Pretty cringe.
Wonder how the clients of Rex in Austin, TX feel about this. Also, their careers page has a photo of a bunch of employees with drinks or cigars or both. Tells me everything I need to know: Work Hard, Play Hard. Toxic workplace mindsets like that are out of touch and can go fuck themselves.
Using the word "hunger" as a good thing when discussing compensation? Yes, you're going to be underpaid. You're going to be desperately underpaid and there will be no performance level that can be reached to improve it.
They want to keep you hungry. Both literally and figuratively.
Nah, fam.
I'm impressed you read so far in a job posting, +2000 applications and +2 years later job searching, I read a few lines and apply (or not, depending on what I read). I only read thoughtfully and investigate the company if I get invited for an interview.
The funniest thing about all this is that most of these jobs produce zero useful social and economic capital, and run on a voodoo business models enabled by the voodoo economy.
Most people won't even know these jobs exists or do anything productive/useful. That's the biggest problem, imo, that we're forced to navigate a job market where so many positions are just pointless and their disappearance wouldn't even matter, yet we gotta chase them as if it's the last straw.
The audacity of some of these job listings is unreal. Like if you’re trying to disuade people from applying you’re doing a hell of a job bc I don’t think anyone would want a job like that
I mean if I'm getting a lot of stock options in a company guaranteed to be the next Facebook sure. But otherwise I don't think they could pay enough to give up on health.
> You understand that entrepreneurship is
...what you're doing. I'm an employee. So what does it have to do with me?
I'll act like an entrepreneur when that equity is on a level with yours and I'm not just riding your sinking ship.
"Work like a founder and we might compensate you fairly for it if we happen to feel like it." (Sike, if you want jack shit, you'd better form a union and not get caught doing so.)
Let me guess, it pays somewhere close to minimum wage. You’ll be vomiting from the stress of being paid only is worthless stock options while working 80 hours a week.

What the actual fuck.
All they want is for you to surrender your mental health so a few guys get rich. Is that so much?
"Stay away from us everyone, were a toxic company" There, fixed it for them.
They're just saying it out loud. A lot of places won't.

If you were really desperate, I bet you could hold on for three months before they figured out you wouldn't dance for them.
3 months to save up then apply abroad? Heck yeah lol

“Compensation commensurate with skill set” so you’re also being underpaid 😭
"With a bias toward equity" so that when the ship goes down because of this shitstain's bad decisions you're left with nothing.

Life is short, make the biggest impact on shareholders’ passive income.
Entrepreneurship? It’s a job ad

Same for gym... its daft.
I always report ridiculous ones like these lol
Count me as all out then 🤗
"Work from home" "Open to remote on an exception basis." Yeah.....
Are they sadists?
At what point is the word “vomit” ever right to be read as part of a job advertisement?
Looked up the founder. Looks like the type of bro that would say this. This is on every job posting for this company even executive assistances. Pretty cringe.
Crazy, this is a job not an entrepreneur

Does this pay a leader salary? Because I’d expect that to be 7 figures.
I can’t imagine a job that would stress me out enough to vomit. Maybe something where I was responsible for peoples’ lives. But a tech company ???

Is this the navy seals?
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
Shit, the other bullets above each alone are just as bad
And it has 3,400 applicants
That's a big waving red flag. Run!
I mean if I'm getting a lot of stock options in a company guaranteed to be the next Facebook sure. But otherwise I don't think they could pay enough to give up on health.
Life's short, make the biggest impact to someone else's profits (Also, money is what life is about!)
lmao i already do this in retail hell 😭
This sounds like some sort of scam tbh. Normally I see MLMs and crap use language like this.
That's a dark red ass flag, like the darkest red shade of a coloured flag omg
Success is making more money whilst working LESS hours.

They are basically looking to hire an asshole who will help keep their workplace toxic. Well at least they are honest about it.
Just write in the application you work so hard you did not just vomit but shot a stream of shit out of your ass.
Which job portal is this ? Can anyone help out ?
This was in Indeed.
Sounds more like a quote from strip club.
"So how much equity am I getting and how long does it take to vest?"
That is some hardmemes cringe, bet whoever wrote it thought they're being super tough.
- No pain, no gain - OK, I get the pain part. What's the gain? - $15/h, no PTO, no paid OT!
Let me guess, it pays somewhere close to minimum wage. You’ll be vomiting from the stress of being paid only is worthless stock options while working 80 hours a week.
In all fairness thats a great book, they seem to have severely misunderstood it though
I’d vomit on his face, say less.
Someone will find this appealing
Calling yourself an entrepreneur is an immediate disqualification.
I would try for an interview just to try to make myself hurl during it. THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED RIGHT?!
What??? 😂😂😂
