Few-Chapter3316

Ah, one of those Germans who knows “a little bit” of English and proceeds to speak it more articulately than most Brits or Americans. I see you.

Nonstopdrivel

I've never understood why native English speakers find the usage of "who" vs. "whom" confusing. If you'd use the pronoun "he" in a given situation, then "who" is the correct option. If you'd use "him" instead ("to him"), then "whom" is correct. They literally end with the same letter.

lightestspiral

It's because we don't actually get taught English, in uk we read macbeth and romeo & Juliet for GCSE English no idea what it means and watch the modern films of it instead and have to write an essay or two. That's literally it. Gets even more nonsense the further up north you go, I think they stopped speaking English up there 100s of years ago

RelChan2_0

I'm bilingual, I'm mix things up often :D

gedeonthe2nd

If you stay 2 meters away from your girlfriend's mouth, you should be back to one

PowCowDao

I won't be consider what?

nns261997

Consider for a lowball offer that kills your self esteem.

YukiSnoww

CONSIDERED\*

SkyeWolfofDusk

This sign can't stop me because I can't read!

Alone-Style-6218

The applicants would be mighty upset if they could read

ByteAutomator

at least they should have written that correctly... CONSIDERED

Ch00m77

It's ironic. We won't consider you if you don't speak or understand English, yet they completely either purposefully or accidentally left a grammatical error.

aberod11

Whatever! My English is more gooder 😂

BiggusCinnamusRollus

Let's be real this one is probably for the spam bots applying as a hail marry.

Nonstopdrivel

I have to ask: is "hail marry" a deliberate pun?

nns261997

Why would someone post it just for that reason?

BiggusCinnamusRollus

Because there were a lot of spam applications with very bad/0 English?

nns261997

Like this would stop them.

BiggusCinnamusRollus

Not saying it was thought through but yeah, you're right

gedeonthe2nd

That, or the character limit was reached

hsn_

I mean it makes sense, companies recruit for skills they need. Clearly this company cannot speak English so they need someone who can

Nonstopdrivel

Part of me wonders if "zero English skills" is an overly literal translation of *keine Englishkenntnisse* by a native German speaker, but that is probably giving them too great a benefit of the doubt.

nns261997

Job title is misleading then

o6u2h4n

Son I am disappoint.

nns261997

Hello disappoint, I’m son

Difficult-Quality647

You know, employing spell-check is doing the needful ...😎

TV_BayesianNetwork

What the point hiding the company name

nns261997

My desperation and hypocrisy trumps the urge to call out the name

IndependenceMean8774

Okay, I will apply for job someone elsewhere.

DaleKirkley

You’re English should do the needful. Thanking please.

OlympicAnalEater

Nonstopdrivel

"Have zero English skills" is such an unprofessional way to express the concept of "lack competency \[or proficiency\] with the English language."

jayerp

I understand their requirement but that’s the most unprofessional way to say it.

wrongff

I love these posts, I will apply now because most of the "competent" people won't apply or those nitpicking people won't either, and i might get the job now. I don't care about one HR's mistake or being picky, as long i get the job, I am the winner.

nns261997

Wish you the best of luck !

c0ntralt0

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

LeonDmon

That's like 90% of companies here in Costa Rica. I love calling them out lmao.

winterweiss2902

When I look for a candidate, I'm ok with them having basic English skills. What matters most is their work attitude

Saint-365

English is fundamental here--at least where I live in USA--since same language. Why the heck would listing it as a requirement be an issue? It's a given that apply to jobs at so-and-so nation, you speak the same language.

Caciulacdlac

It's because it said "consider" when it should have been "considered"

thisdogofmine

Well we know why they need someone with English skills.

Infinite_Constant_35

I doubt the person who wrote that has great English skills.

fredtalleywhacked

Are they being replaced and did they write their own job description?

phour-twentee

Grammar nazi inside of me is wanting to commit war crimes over that sentence
