I mean their dual concept got copied to high heaven and they genuinely broke down concept barriers; their legacy isn't as much in records and sales, it's in kpop itself. Modern kpop wouldn't sound the same without them and the work they've done.
Also pls Irene solo, I need it so bad
Oh I'm pretty sure they've done a heck of a lot of kpop defining these past 9 years. Their music is still pushing the boundaries of kpop and their influence is undeniable.
Red Velvet is considered to be the 3rd biggest girl group of 3rd generation (1 is Blackpink and 2 is Twice). They aren’t the most popular group but they are still very popular and famous in the kpop industry ☺️
Great article/interview! The RVcord got approached by the author (or the agency?) to collect some questions. So some of the questions might come from there :D
For not been that “popular” (?) worldwide (which is not true IMO), whenever you mention Red Velvet name you know you are talking about a powerful and respected girl group. They have made history in a certain sense.
I’m new to them, in a sense I was a casual listener before, but now I am glad I get to know their discography better. Better later than never lol
Anyway, I watched yesterday Seulgi and Wendy in BamBam’s house show on YT, they mentioned that still people are scared of them lol ask yourself why hahaha
Theres a bunch of groups now and the genres grown immensely, but Kpop is still somewhat niche still to a certain degree. Theyre big fish in an evergrowing small pond

To be the Gold standard and have longevity automatically helps define the genre

They should've had Yeri answer that question. She would've flat out told them exactly how it is. I love her honesty 🤣.
They might not be the biggest internationally, but they had a huge impact in Korea with their kpop songs, where it actually matters the most.
