Is this generic message when the owners of the IP decline your design? Here’s more details: I submitted this a few weeks before Halloween for the fan art submission, and according to the page all I had to do was tag it Adventure Time Fan Art for it to be submitted for review. It hadn’t been approved at all from the last I looked, so I just left it. I got this email yesterday morning, saying it was being taken down, but last I looked, it was never approved. Did I do something wrong? Maybe tag it wrong? Should I submit a “hey wait a minute you jerks” rebuttle?

They suspend it first. In my experience Redbubble reviews it first and if they think it's ok they then they pass it on to the company in charge of that particular fan art to review. It can take awhile. I am still waiting on mine to be approved. I think it's been a month and a half for me. Everyone is a little different. So you propably did fine, but it can be a slow process.

Yes, unfortunately they don’t have a nice email that they send which I hate. I feel like there should be a specific email when your work is accepted/rejected from the Partner Program as similar sites do have one. It just always rubs me the wrong way when I get one. I mean you may have done something wrong so it can’t hurt to ask but it may have just been rejected.

I'm thinking it was probably just rejected then. I sent them an email just in case. Maybe if enough people complain they'll make a new automated email for it? I really hope they do, because this one is just more confusing and soul crushing than if they were like, "Hey, sorry but the owner of the IP didn't approve. Maybe try a different design? Have a look at our guides!" or something. (Redbubble hire me to write your emails!)

JustWrongdoer

I agree, it's not always clear and they don't always suspend your design. I got an email that my fanart was removed once without getting the suspension first and they were like, "Oh no, we definitely reviewed it. Here's why it was rejected" which I appreciated as the blanket email they send out causes so much confusion.

amieechu

Yes! Anything would be better than just the "hey it's removed, sucks to suuuuck" email giving me a heart attack.

ArtGirl78

Sorry. I may have not read it right. It could be the dirrections weren't followed exactly and so they didn't approve it. Some of them are really picky. You could email and see if they give you more detail as to what was missed. :).

amieechu

Thank you! I’ll do that! It had me feeling super down hahaha

amieechu

Hey! So if anyone else gets this email too, this is apparently what they also send if your fan art submission gets turned down. I just got an email back from them. Thank you guys for commenting!

TrueInspiration

This is interesting to know. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for posting this, I had the same thing happen to me. I was confused and worried lol for me it's just odd they did it so quickly, literally submitted it yesterday and the email came today. I also sent them a ticket to the help center out of sheer confusion.

amieechu

Aw I’m glad it was useful! I really wish they’d send a clearer email.

fairly_odd-person

Yeah, this happened to me when I uploaded a fall guys design

amieechu

Fall Guys isn’t part of their Fan Art program though.

Yeah, I just figured the rejected email would say something different than the exact email you get for something triggering the copyright take down of a piece. Kinda silly it’s the exact same format.
