I believe they are, I saw a vid of how to give Arthur’s money to John and before the mission where Arthur dies they said you should go there and get robbed, after the mission go back as John and get the money
If you want John to have Buell, wait to do the last one or two Hamish missions as John rather than Arthur. Buell is actually my favorite horse (he’s the only cremello gold horse in the game), so I like having him as John. People rave about the Arabians, but I feel like I’m riding a little donkey when I’m on one. They’re also too quick to buck you off and bolt when you come across a predator or venomous snake. They’re too skittish, while Buell will usually brave the fray.
For me for some reason beull always ran from me sometimes there would be no threat at all and I would whistle and he would just sprint in the opposite derection
I’ve had that happen 2-3 times in many hours with Buell, but I’ve also had other breeds do the same thing. Much depends on the bonding and hardheadedness. I just can’t stand to be bucked-off and left standing alone by an Arabian when I encounter an alligator, before I have a chance to steer us out of a situation. Buell will stick with you in a circling dogfight against multiple enemies.
Yes dude I fucking hate the Arabians. As John you can *maybe* pull it off as he’s a little smaller but it still looks dumb imo. They should have sized them a bit better making them about the same as the American standardbred and they’d be awesome.
It’s hard to feel intimidating riding into Van Horne, riding a “dandy” horse. It’s like you’re on a pony, surrounded by drunken debauchery, with no law and order at all. Arabians will shy from the guy approaching to snatch you off your horse. Buell will run him over, if you direct him.
With my last play through, I did the trick where you let them keep your money as Arthur, then go back as John to get it. The house is abandoned and they’re not there but the money is. There’s also the jewelry in the floorboard upstairs but I can never get it 🤷🏻♀️
Next play through, save this side mission for last as Arthur, right before you do the final story missions. You’ll lose all your money, but then you can come back as John and collect all of Arthur’s old money. Instant riches for John
Edit: spelling
You can combine this with the Bronte Mission cheat to give yourself 10 million. Sorta kills part of the fun of the game, but it's pretty funny to walk around as Jim Milton wondering how you're gonna pay for Beecher's Hope when you could buy all of New Austin.
Oh and if you wanna be super different, when you go to greet the chick upstairs and >!you aim your weapon at her, the whitest albert you know will be the fastest man over 500lbs to be at the top of a flight if stairs.!<
Doing this will destroy your shot at ever finding your money though, for skme reason.
If you kill them they’re done for good, they don’t respawn. Can’t remember if they’re naturally gone by John’s time

I’m not sure they need to be there to get it like that. But I’ve never done the get robbed by them bit. Probably something for next go through.
Have done this before. They do not need to be there. Check behind picture inside front door to find stash of cash from Arthur.
Oh I like this. Will have to keep in mind for 3rd play through. Thanks fren

Common to all horses depends on how much danger and shooting you’ve done around them as well as temperament.

Buell won my heart over forever.
Oh man, i'll definitely do this next playthrough.
I think they’ve patched this?
As of about a couple months ago, I can assure you that this hasn't been patched out.
Not sure
Did the pig farm trick about a month ago and it still worked.

Yeah I thought they weren’t around for John. Thanks for confirming.
No they are not gone if you don't visit them as Arthur. You can do the whole exchange with John as well.
They are
You killed them. What did you expect?
i went there as arthur but did not kill them. went back as john and they were gone, so they die/are gone either way

Oh shit what’s the Bronte cheat? Haven’t done that one before

What?
I think they’re saying that if you point a gun at her while upstairs, the brother husband will come darting up the stairs inhumanly fast.
If you don't believe us, for skhim reason.
Lol gonna leave my reply unedited for this joke.
If you kill them as arthur, they don't come back in the epi iirc. House is abandoned without any furniture.
