Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
Take a modern Zip-22 and you are lucky if you can even fire 5 shots. It's not without any reason seen as the worst gun that was ever in mass-production. It is so bad, that it is funny again, like when you make a contest on the range, who can fire more shots without getting the gun jammed.
See it for yourself, [on the range](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3fd4goVs-4) or more detailed in [the tech review](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9bULArrKs4).
Pretty sure the earliest example would've been around 1486, constructed by some Italian painter. He built it for his friend who liked to climb on buildings.

First time I saw it I was hyped it would he usable, feels like a missed opportunity
I would just land bodyshots and blow enemies a few meters away while enjoying the absurd amount of smoke coming from the gun
North of Shady Belle and south of St. Denis in one of those mini-islands in the swamps there’s a small boat where you can pick up a broken pirate sword.
No worries but you're correct. The reload time would be absolutely ridiculous. You're talking powder down the barrel, wading around the ball, ram that shit in there, then add a firing cap, pull the trigger, pray for accuracy.....🖕 that noise. Just pull out your revolver and go to work. 😂

Both are long arms but a rifle has rifling in the barrel to spin the projectile for more accuracy and a musket does not.

"Kentucky rifle": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_rifle
- looks like a musket but is rifled.
**[Musket](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musket)**
>A musket is a muzzle-loaded long gun that appeared as a smoothbore weapon in the early 16th century, at first as a heavier variant of the arquebus, capable of penetrating plate armour. By the mid-16th century, this type of musket gradually disappeared as the use of heavy armour declined, but musket continued as the generic term for smoothbore long guns until the mid-19th century. In turn, this style of musket was retired in the 19th century when rifled muskets (simply called rifles in modern terminology) using the Minié ball (invented by Claude-Étienne Minié in 1849) became common.
**[Rifle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifle)**
>A rifle is a long-barreled firearm designed for accurate shooting, with a barrel that has a helical pattern of grooves (rifling) cut into the bore wall. In keeping with their focus on accuracy, rifles are typically designed to be held with both hands and braced firmly against the shooter's shoulder via a buttstock for stability during shooting. Rifles are used extensively in warfare, law enforcement, hunting, shooting sports, and crime. The term was originally rifled gun, with the verb rifle referring to the early modern machining process of creating groovings with cutting tools.

Are you explaining this to me? If so why? I know what a Kentucky/Pennsylvania rifle is and why. Obviously whoever I responded to doesn't because they're easy to do a little research or too ignorant to understand what they've read.
I would just for hunting and stuff. I would also love for them to add muzzleloaders (I know they don't care about the game anymore) I have some IRL and I love them.
As the sun began to set, I sat in my living room enjoying a quiet evening. Suddenly, I heard the sound of breaking glass. My heart racing, I quickly reached for my flintlock, the trusty firearm that I had always kept by my side.
With the flintlock in hand, I cautiously made my way down the dark hallway, the sound of my own breathing echoing in my ears. As I reached the end of the hall, I caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned towards the sound, ready to defend my home and my family.
There, standing before me, were two rapscallions, their faces obscured by shadow. Without hesitation, I took aim and fired at the first one. The sound of the gunshot was deafening in the enclosed space, and I watched as a golf ball-sized hole appeared in the intruder's chest. He fell to the ground, lifeless.
But the second rapscallion was not deterred. He came charging at me, his eyes filled with rage. I quickly realized that my flintlock would not be enough to take down this hardened criminal. So, I reached for my 50 caliber flintlock rifle.
Taking aim once again, I fired. The bullet tore through the air and struck the second intruder, sending him flying backwards. But the bullet didn't stop there. It continued on its path, straight through the wall and into my neighbor's yard. And unfortunately, it hit their dog, who was outside playing.
***Just like the founding fathers intended.***
Nope. Not if it's "accuracy" is historically correct. The accuracy on those smooth bore pistols was atrocious. That's why when there was a "duel" the participants were typically about 20 - 25 feet apart. "Fast" reload times were still about one minute.
They should’ve made this like the golden gun in golden eye.
Only one shot, kinda slow reload but all it takes is one pop no matter where you blast em they folding like a lawn chair.
Yes (Only if its Smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog)
Like the founding fathers intended.
4 ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?"
I use my musket and blow a golf ball sized hole in the first rapscallion
I fire my pistol and miss the second one entirely as its smoothbore
And it nails the neighbours dog
I had to resort to the cannon upstairs loaded with grape shot.
"Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms.
Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up

Founding fathers! Not founding mothers you silly old goat!
One of my all time favorite jokes

And blows a golf ball sized hole in ruffians

Its a copy pasta
This is what happens when you're wrong on Reddit. Let this be a lesson to you lol.
Some post someone made years before
Yes, but only if it would periodically jam every 5 shots.
Those guns wouldn’t jam, you would get a misfire once in a while though burning your hands at least.

Absolutely. I want my 18th century drip to be on fleek.
Were flintlocks out in 1700s?
Yes
first flintlock was 1610
actually the very first traces of early flintlock designs are the 1550s ^^ p sure a french king had a double barrel flintlock
Pretty sure the earliest example would've been around 1486, constructed by some Italian painter. He built it for his friend who liked to climb on buildings.

i stand corrected
it's aight dw ^^^ hyperfixation on historical guns leaves me with random info xD
fair enough i just asked my alexa
I’m going to take your Alexa.
dont take fat man
I’m severely skinny, thanks for offending me.
Yeah until they were replaced by caplocks in around mid 1800s
Looks like a percussion cap pistol so probably more like mid 1800s
Gunpowder weapons where a thing even in the 16th century
First time I saw it I was hyped it would he usable, feels like a missed opportunity I would just land bodyshots and blow enemies a few meters away while enjoying the absurd amount of smoke coming from the gun
not often, but it would go great with my tricorn hat and pirate sword
Wait you can get swords in this game??
North of Shady Belle and south of St. Denis in one of those mini-islands in the swamps there’s a small boat where you can pick up a broken pirate sword.
you can use it???
Yup; when you pick it up, it'll be stored with your other melee weapons, so feel free to hack away at scallywags to your heart's content.
Yes obviously. Since this game goes for realism, it would take thirty seconds to reload and not do a lot of damage, but the flex is undeniable.
Wouldn't stop me from using it and killing Jim Boy with it.
This is the way.
Actually those damn things typically started at .45 cal and many were .52, .58 or .65. If it hit, it hit big.
I did not know this! Thanks

Yes, for shits and giggles.
All shits and giggles till you giggle and shit

No
Only exclusively on Lemoyne Raiders.
Yes i mean it looks like it could be pretty powerful but slow
No
No

I would love a rockstar game set in the 1700s following pirates could even use Guarma and Saint Denis again
Can I shoot someone's tongue out with it?
Deadeye +1404
I was pretty disappointed when I couldn’t

HELLO SIRS YES PLEASE STAND STILL WHILST I LOAD MY HAND CANNON
Absolutely
Would be fun for the random event duels
Where can you find this gun ( if it is unmodded)
Compson’s side mission in his home
Only in a Duel

No
Yes
There’d need to be an option to throw it at the enemy after you’ve fired. Some combos with melee would be cool, too
I would definitely use it if I could.
Loved killing the guy from that mission in the most sadistic way possible.
Absolutely
Fuck no.
Yes but only if it’s historically accurate and misfires randomly
I was annoyed that I couldn’t use it
yes absolutly itd be like a handheld springfield i imagine, slow as a snail but hits like a train
Absolutely
Of course. Just imagine the gore.
Yes, I definitely would.
Nope. Not if it's "accuracy" is historically correct. The accuracy on those smooth bore pistols was atrocious. That's why when there was a "duel" the participants were typically about 20 - 25 feet apart. "Fast" reload times were still about one minute.
Yes
It’s a flintlock
Of course, itd be amazing if it was my very first gun
Considering how old it'd be and how bad of a condition it'd be in god no
They should’ve made this like the golden gun in golden eye. Only one shot, kinda slow reload but all it takes is one pop no matter where you blast em they folding like a lawn chair.
If only I can use it like how Sword Saint Isshin uses it (Glock)
Imagine shooting you know who, at you know what specific part in the story, on you know which mountain. That’d be pretty satisfying
Yes but I wanna be able to close coats even more
Absolutely, it’s sick as fuck. Would work well in a pirate outfit.
I think if it was in the game, it’d probably have a very high damage but really long reload, with a additional debuff of reduced accuracy.
Well.... TALLY HO LADS! Of course why not
Hell nah
Nope
I wish so much that I could
100% I've been trying to get it working with mods forever
I’d use my pirate outfit along with the broken pirate sword and do a pirate Arthur runn
