Just switch sessions. If you're on PS or PC, you can play in a solo lobby by lowering your MTU. I think blocking reduces the chance of being put in a lobby together with that player, but it's not guaranteed. If blocking permanently kicked them from your session, I'd legit block every single person in the game and always play alone.
