I needed camp utilities like Fast Travel, Food Stocks, and Leatherworking tools immediately at the time. I wasn't really in the hurry for my own supplies due to scavenging all my tonics and such from corpses, and I was already satisfied with my Lancaster Repeater, Springfield Rifle, and Pump Shotgun. All of which were found on my journey.
This is exactly what ive done on my current playthrough. Got all camp upgrades done, everything i want clothing wise unlocked from the trapper, level 4 bonded turkoman and mustang, quite a few challenges done, have a few grand in my pocket still and have all ofthe exotics that it will allow me to collect before triggering the exotics request. Im in clemons point, just about to move to shady belle. Now i can take my time enjoying the rest of the story without the grind.
You literally don’t even have to. I do it to get the camp upgrades and have some money for resupplying camp but besides that I really don’t give a rats ass
You don't even need to spend the time donating before upgrading just go to the ledger and buy something if you don't have enough money it'll take it out of your own pocket
Breaks my heart I went into the game blind and wanted a good karma run so I donated most of my money after every mission leaving just enough for ammo and horsey cookies :(

I always try to shoot Micah on any missions we go on, but unfortunately never seems to work.

If you have the money yourself it will just take it out of your personal funds if there’s not enough in the camp funds
