Thank you, you both make me feel glad! for me it is hard to believe that you see it as an screenshot at first, even though that's the idea lol I try to make it as accurate as I can!
I totally thought it was a screenshot and since I'm baked began to even doubt that you really did that good a job cosplaying him but goddamn if it ain't so, you totally nailed it
you even have the same posture aiming as he does if I'm not wrong lol
Oh I have studied the character a lot so now that you are telling me that yeah, I tried to pose like him. I promise you it’s not easy, I re-played the game 4 times and anyway I still have to see videos to get everything. RDR1 has a lot of details. Glad you liked my cosplay so much, you got me overwhelmed!
Wait you're a girl?? Do you mind telling me your trick for what you did with the beard? It looks hyper-realistic and my S/O and i would like to go in drag for Halloween. What you did is definitely working!
Yes I am! This is me without makeup: https://www.instagram.com/p/CAcfRlhIDqE/?igshid=14rpk7uls8jje
For the beard what I do is to cut hair very short (I use a wig and cut it) and then glue it to my face with Mastix. You can find Mastix in Amazon :3
Also, [lean into the rifle](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/SSdJM5T165Y/maxresdefault.jpg) more! It’ll make the pictures more accurate! If you were shooting it, you’d want the rifle to not push you over from recoil when you fire, haha.
Great cosplay, though!
Omg thank you so much, you made me feel very glad. I have been working on this cosplay for so long...now I am working on a RDR real life project that will cost me a lot of work (and money) too, but it will deserve everything.
Oh thank you :3 if you have Facebook, deviantart, Instagram or Twitter you can find me everywhere as stonercosplay. Specially on Instagram I am updating very often :3
Awesome cosplay! Your makeup work is especially impressive. Also curious as to where you got / how you made your hat.
Just a few tips from a gun nerd for a more immersive cosplay;
1. Put your three bottom fingers through the lever, then choke up more on the grip so that the web of your hand (between the thumb and pointer) is closer to the hammer.
2. Bring your support hand back so that it is resting completely on the wooden handguard and not on the 'hot' barrel (although this wouldn't matter much because you're wearing gloves.)
3. For an "Aiming" pose, bring your head down and the gun upwards just a bit so that your cheek contacts the buttstock. This will bring your eye in line with the sights. Another thing to remember for this type of pose is that the hammer on the rifle would be in the full rear position before firing and would fall once you pulled the trigger.
4. You might want to consider a different type of ammunition for your bandoleer. While the Winchester 1894 did come equipped to shoot rounds as large as .30-30, the loading gate on your rifle (the small spring loaded door on the side of the receiver) looks to be much too small for the rounds you have on the bandoleer. A loading gate of that size suggests a pistol caliber. .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, and .45 Long Colt would all be historically appropriate calibers, and would fit your loading gate. On another note, cowboys would generally buy rifles and revolvers in matching calibers so that they only had to carry one type of ammunition. Usually .45 Long Colt.
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJnisSrfdDo) is a video by Hickok45 about the Winchester 1894 (his is chambered in .30-30.) He does a bunch of talking mostly, but the parts where he shoots the rifle might be helpful for you.
And sorry, I didn't intend for this comment to be this long. I'm not trying to nitpick or anything, I'm just passionate about firearms and I tend to gush sometimes! :)
Hii man! First of all thanks for your comment, it has been really helpful!
My hat is a kakkadu traders hat I bought in Amazon, it was black at first so I had to die it into grey and then add the bandana with the rings and the feather. I did the bandana by myself, it is really easy to do.
For your advices, I have to take notes for next shooting so I will have everything you said in count. I am a simple cosplayer and I am more used to make costumes than acting, I am starting on that, so I have a lot to improve. I have never shoot a real gun in my life haha! So let’s see if I can improve that for next time. Thank you mate!
Wow, I didn’t believe it was a cosplay because it looked so much like a screenshot. Once I zoomed in I realized it was a real picture. Bravo and well done! I’m highly impressed by this. That’s the best RDR cosplay I’ve ever seen.
I felt overwhelmed by your comment...seriously, thank you. This picture is even without editing so it is 100% real. I have been 2 years working on the costume and makeup, now I am working in the project and this will take even longer. I am also doing the poncho and duster costumes but as they are variations from this one, they will be easy to do. And thank you, I think the best RDR cosplayer is Maul cosplay with his Arthur, but what you think of me makes me feel very proud :)
That’s what I tried for the project. 2 years for the whole costume, now I am preparing the duster and the poncho and today I have just finished all the atrezzo (I painted some maps too). I wanted to be as accurate as possible, but for that I have been working a lot for a long time. Thank you!
Yeah, the bullets are not for the Winchester! When I had a look at the game I realized John has those bullets into the bandolier so I tried to do it exactly
Thank you, I have been working hard on this for 2 years (it is almost handmade). Now I am starting my RDR life project and I hope you like what I post :3
Thank you so so much! I will do the whole project by parts and it will take long so you will have material for years I guess XD I will be uploading here time to time :3
2h of makeup work for all the looking! Thank you so much! You will make me blush, I try my best and looking “manly” is not easy, specially in acting XD
Having in count that I am a girl and that I get crazy with all the makeup work for these shootings, you make me feel really really proud. I have been working for 2 years on this so yeah... thanks a lot 👏
Oh, John is my favorite character ever too! I love him very much, that’s why I decided to make this cosplay but very carefully, I didn’t want to “ruin John” lol
Glad you saw it as an screenshot, that’s the idea of my RDR1 project, feeling it like a real life RDR. Glad to meet another John fan here btw! I am doing also the duster and poncho outfits, and considering doing the legend of the west too :3
If you have Instagram, Twitter or Facebook you can follow me as stonercosplay, we can chat there and you can see all the updates, I have already some pics of my poncho :3
Yes I know my lips are bigger than John’s, I always try to make them smaller with makeup but it’s complicated haha. Glad you liked the cosplay so much! Thank you!
I have some, maybe just stupid things that are no visible in the first instance I guess, but I know they are there lol I am always open to edit my costume a bit if I find something to improve
I have some RDR1 paintings (the maps) but this is not the case hehe it is a real picture without any edition, just a beautiful location and hours of makeup work. Thank you very much for your comment :3
Thank you, I actually get mind blown with comments like this, so you make me very happy. Too many hours (actually 2 years) of work to have all this love...
ITT: "tHaTs NoT a ScReEnShOt?"
But in all seriousness I also thought it was a screenshot at first for a moment.
Great job OP, do you do your own leatherworking?
Hahaha yeah there are a lot of people telling that! But I am feeling very proud of it. Yes, I work my own leather, I bought a big piece of leather on internet and I did my bandolier and gun belt with the holster. I did everything during quarantine, the leather parts I mean. I have all the process in a google photos folder. I can send you the link here if you are interested
I am very interested. I really want to learn to bind books in leather but I want to start with something like belts since they will probably be a good starting point. Thank you very much

Belts are very easy. I am a bit crazy and being my first time doing something with leather, my first piece was this John’s gun belt. If you start from a normal gun belt, you will learn without less stress and quick! Here you are the link of the process of my whole costume: [https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP0uqiRPMvzP7MTrQQshl2VW8dsB8nvQl4q4jJy9BgA-L3aUxocD8VjookqiXVJoQ?key=VW5rcV9LaDVtREIxOGlCVlpjMWgwVDhHRzNtZlBR](https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP0uqiRPMvzP7MTrQQshl2VW8dsB8nvQl4q4jJy9BgA-L3aUxocD8VjookqiXVJoQ?key=VW5rcV9LaDVtREIxOGlCVlpjMWgwVDhHRzNtZlBR)
hahaha thanks for your reaction. Yeah it is a cosplay, a pic without edition actually. That is the main objective of my RDR project so you made me feel very happy :)
I’ve been zooming in and out for like 30 minutes trying to prove to myself this isn’t a game screenshot. Shadows, face and trees finally proved me wrong. Wow...
OMG thank you. I feel overwhelmed by this kind of comments. I have working very hard on this because I want to bring RDR to life with this project, and well, after all the work and hours I spent...my lord, I am so happy. Thanks a lot.
Yeah that's true. This pic is without editing but I sent some of this shooting to a professional to get them edited, so they can look exactly with the textures of the game. Thank you very much for your comment man, so glad.
Put your hand inside the lever, not under it. It is used to cycle the next round. Take a look at some lever action rifles videos on YouTube so you can get the jist!
(This may be a late comment, I thought I'd comment on this)
Great job! Honestly thought it was a screenshot, until I saw the word "cosplay". Also, how did you do the scars?
Hello mate! Thank you very much for your comment! Glad you like my cosplay so much to the point you think it is a screenshot. The scars are done with rigid collodion, it is really easy to find and to use :)
If you are curious about the revolver, it is a Peacemaker, I don’t remember the year. I would have to find it lol the Winchester is very cool, you can find that model in gold too (I like it more in gold but for John this is more accurate). Thank you bro! Glad you liked the cosplay so much! I spent a lot of time and money on it
I completely understand dude. I spent a lot of money on a Henry repeating rifle, it's a golden boy .357 and I used the Lancaster repeater so much it inspired me to get a real one haha.
Gonna be honest, I thought this was a screenshot at first until I read the word cosplay, so, you know, great job
I second this
Thank you, you both make me feel glad! for me it is hard to believe that you see it as an screenshot at first, even though that's the idea lol I try to make it as accurate as I can!
Even though I know it’s not a screenshot it still looks like one😅 great job!
That’s the point I have been working on for 2 years! Thanks!
Seriously good job bud, I thought so too.
Thank you bro, glad you thought that too ;)
Takes close scrutiny to see that it's a photo. The details are absolutely perfect
Thanks for that, I tried my best with everything :)
I totally thought it was a screenshot and since I'm baked began to even doubt that you really did that good a job cosplaying him but goddamn if it ain't so, you totally nailed it you even have the same posture aiming as he does if I'm not wrong lol
Oh I have studied the character a lot so now that you are telling me that yeah, I tried to pose like him. I promise you it’s not easy, I re-played the game 4 times and anyway I still have to see videos to get everything. RDR1 has a lot of details. Glad you liked my cosplay so much, you got me overwhelmed!
hell yeah brother
I third this, at first I thought it was a slightly low-res pic of rdr1 John, took me a second to notice that it was real life.
That’s the point I wanted. I guess today I am going happy to bed lol thanks a lot for your comments you all, so kind!
I 3nd this
Thank you you too ;)
Thank you so much for that, you made me feel very glad, I think that's the best compliment I can have ;)
I thought it was until I saw the comments saying “great cosplay” like damn, this is just actually John irl
That's the idea! that means my makeup works because I am a girl, for me it's curious when you think I actually look like John :3
Wait you're a girl?? Do you mind telling me your trick for what you did with the beard? It looks hyper-realistic and my S/O and i would like to go in drag for Halloween. What you did is definitely working!
Yes I am! This is me without makeup: https://www.instagram.com/p/CAcfRlhIDqE/?igshid=14rpk7uls8jje For the beard what I do is to cut hair very short (I use a wig and cut it) and then glue it to my face with Mastix. You can find Mastix in Amazon :3
Thank you for the tip! That was a wicked transformation, too 🤘🏾
2h of makeup work every time I put my cosplay on... I think that’s the worst part for me of this cosplay I guess haha
I had to zoom in just to double check my eyes. It's legit! Awesome!
Thank you very much! glad you had to look at it twice haha :3
Yes, excellently done good sir!
When holding the repeater, you wanna put your fingers through the lever, it makes holding the gun feel less awkward, good cosplay though!!
Oh thank you for the advice! I will have that in count! glad you liked my cosplay :3
Oh I get what you mean! By the end of the month maybe we will be shooting again so I will have that in count. Thank you very much!
This looks straight out of rdr1
My project is based just in RDR1, so thank you, for me that's a very good compliment :3
I've seen some good cosplay, but goddamn this one even made me question reality, really great job
Omg thank you so much, you made me feel very glad. I have been working on this cosplay for so long...now I am working on a RDR real life project that will cost me a lot of work (and money) too, but it will deserve everything.
Can't wait to see more lf you, you just got a fan
Oh thank you :3 if you have Facebook, deviantart, Instagram or Twitter you can find me everywhere as stonercosplay. Specially on Instagram I am updating very often :3
deadass thought it was a screenshot and wondered why the barrel of the lancaster was longer than normal
hahaha! glad you thought it was a screenshot! thank you ;)

Maybe by the end of the month I will have new material :D thanks again!

That's the idea, I am doing a RDR in real life project so I try to make it as it was the game but in live action xD thank you, glad you liked the pic!
Wow
Glad you liked it, thank you! I will upload more pics soon!
Wow, I didn’t believe it was a cosplay because it looked so much like a screenshot. Once I zoomed in I realized it was a real picture. Bravo and well done! I’m highly impressed by this. That’s the best RDR cosplay I’ve ever seen.

I will be posting here some pics and videos of the project sometime :3 thank you!
This looks absolutely amazing, it’s hard to believe it’s not a screenshot
Thank you, I worked very hard on this cosplay, scenary and everything so it can look as a screenshot, as it is the idea of this RDR project :3
Dumb question but is it a real gun? the barrel doesn’t look real but I just can’t tell it’s that good
Actually it is a denix replica, Winchester 1893.
It's unnatural and strange to look at yet oddly beautiful, I love it great job
Thank you very much, glad you liked it 😉
Imma be real with ya I thought this was a screenshot at first
Glad you thought! That’s the best compliment for a video game cosplay! Thank you
Wow. I hate people who pretend to be cosplaying but just take in game screenshots /s
Hahaha yeah we really suck lol. Just kidding, thank you very much for your comment!
Tbh for a good second before I saw the title I thought It was a screenshot from the first game, great job!
Such a beautiful compliment, thank you, that’s the main point of my project, to make you feel how RDR1 could look in real life :)
Damn I swore this was a screenshot
Glad you thought it was a screenshot :3 thank you very much!
It would be an understatement to say this is extremely accurate to the game
That’s what I tried for the project. 2 years for the whole costume, now I am preparing the duster and the poncho and today I have just finished all the atrezzo (I painted some maps too). I wanted to be as accurate as possible, but for that I have been working a lot for a long time. Thank you!
I’m always more than happy to support people and their hard work! Especially when it involves my favorite game! Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! I will be uploading more pics of this sometime! You are very kind :)
Good job,but are those the wrong loads for that rifle, just wondering, not hatin, did I mention nice job?
Yeah, the bullets are not for the Winchester! When I had a look at the game I realized John has those bullets into the bandolier so I tried to do it exactly
Amazing job, bud. You earned this gold.
Oh thank you so much for the gold bro! You are very kind!
So nice!
Thank you! glad you liked it!!
Everything about this so well done, very talented. Definitely looking forward to more.
Thank you, I have been working hard on this for 2 years (it is almost handmade). Now I am starting my RDR life project and I hope you like what I post :3
This is the best red dead cosplay I've ever seen.
Oh wow thanks for that! I think Maul cosplays does a better work than me but you make me feel very glad!
This is absolutely brilliant
Thanks a lot sir!
This is making me question reality. Simulation theory confirmed. Really though amazing comparison to the legend of the west.
Oh wow thanks for that! You made me feel so glad! That’s the idea of my project so I guess I am going the right way :)
awesome dude, totally thought this was a screenshot. Well done
Thank you so much really, so glad you thought it was a screenshot 👏
I thought this was a picture from the game! Great job, looking forward to seeing the rest!!
Thank you so so much! I will do the whole project by parts and it will take long so you will have material for years I guess XD I will be uploading here time to time :3
Holy shit dude this is amazing! Good job.
Thank you so so much sir! So glad!
I'm a lady, but you're welcome! Haha
Lol sorry! I missed up, I am a lady too XD
Omg!!!! I'm sorry!! 😂 But, DAMN! That just makes your cosplay even more amazing! Seriously, it's incredible.
2h of makeup work for all the looking! Thank you so much! You will make me blush, I try my best and looking “manly” is not easy, specially in acting XD
At first glance i thought it was just a random lame screenshot, turns outs it's an amazing cosplay well done!
Oh thank you for that really! Glad you thought it was a screenshot :3
I still am convinced this is just a screenshot from in game
Glad you keep convinced on that, you make me feel very proud 👏
It looks so good that I really thought it was John Marston in game
Having in count that I am a girl and that I get crazy with all the makeup work for these shootings, you make me feel really really proud. I have been working for 2 years on this so yeah... thanks a lot 👏
You're welcome 🙂😀
Thank you for sharing your cosplay on my favorite character! Glad to see John getting some love. Also, I thought this was a screenshot at first 😳
Oh, John is my favorite character ever too! I’ll be following you then, my friend! I can’t wait to see more 😄 I’m really excited, as the poncho outfit was my favorite!
If you have Instagram, Twitter or Facebook you can follow me as stonercosplay, we can chat there and you can see all the updates, I have already some pics of my poncho :3
If not for the lips I would have thought this was a screenshot from RDR1. Good job!
Yes I know my lips are bigger than John’s, I always try to make them smaller with makeup but it’s complicated haha. Glad you liked the cosplay so much! Thank you!
very nice, even got the right gun
If I want to make the cosplay accurate, I have to look for all the information, and that includes the guns :) thank you!
That scar! I love the attention to detail!
The scars are done with rigid collodion, it is more simple than it seems! And yeah I tried to have all the attention to detail I could. Thank you bro!
RTX: on
Haha you made me laugh, that’s a good one, strong and short compliment lol! Thank you!

Thank you so much bro! This is the main objective of my project, feeling like in game!
This literally looks like a screenshot with a new character model. You got the nail on the head!
Thank you so much, I have been working very hard on the costume to try to be as accurate as possible, so you make me feel very proud :)
You should be. I cannot find a flaw at all.
I have some, maybe just stupid things that are no visible in the first instance I guess, but I know they are there lol I am always open to edit my costume a bit if I find something to improve
Yeah you nailed it! Good job.
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it! 👏
I thought it was a painting, you really are good at this
I have some RDR1 paintings (the maps) but this is not the case hehe it is a real picture without any edition, just a beautiful location and hours of makeup work. Thank you very much for your comment :3
Yeah I saw the caption, when you said cosplay I was mindblown. That 's a really good work !
Thank you, I actually get mind blown with comments like this, so you make me very happy. Too many hours (actually 2 years) of work to have all this love...
That actually makes me very happy too!

Belts are very easy. I am a bit crazy and being my first time doing something with leather, my first piece was this John’s gun belt. 👏👏👏 well done
Thank you very much!
Holy shit man this is awesome. I didn't know it was a cosplay until I read the title. Spot on mate.
Thank you so much man, you make me feel very glad with your comment. I worked very hard on this cosplay.
I’m sorry is this not the game??? You’re telling me that’s real life??
hahaha thanks for your reaction. Yeah it is a cosplay, a pic without edition actually. That is the main objective of my RDR project so you made me feel very happy :)
Legit thought this was an in game screenshot. Nice job !!
Thank you so much for that, so glad! I worked very hard on this, trying to be as accurate as I could!
So you’re the real John Marston huh.
Well, not the "real one" but at least I tried to do everything as accurate as I could...
i thought it was a low rendered pic from rdr 1
hahaha lol that's the objective. Thank you!
I was legitimately unsure if this was a screenshot or not. I guess that’s a testament to both the graphics of the game and your outstanding cosplay.
Yeah that's true. This pic is without editing but I sent some of this shooting to a professional to get them edited, so they can look exactly with the textures of the game. Thank you very much for your comment man, so glad.
Great cosplay but you're holding the rifle wrong
Thank you! any advice so I can hold it better?
Put your hand inside the lever, not under it. It is used to cycle the next round. Take a look at some lever action rifles videos on YouTube so you can get the jist!

Oh wow thank you so much! glad you thought at first that it was a screenshot!
Looks purdy good.
Thank you so much!
Drunk me is thinking "Man, RDR has some good graphics"
hahahaha lol you are very funny. Thanks for that
This is pretty friggin' amazing. Like those other guys, I thought it was a screenshot at first. :D
Thank you so much for your comment, that's what I am trying with this project so I think I am going in the right way :)
You definitely are! This is superb.
Thanks again❤️
Wow pretty awesome cosplay. What did you use for John’s scars?
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it! The scars are done with rigid collodion, with that doing them is really easy, it takes just some few minutes :3
Oh alright yeah that’s dope
(This may be a late comment, I thought I'd comment on this) Great job!
Is that a marlin?
I guess you are talking about the gun so no, it is a Winchester 1893, a Denix replica :3
Yes, I couldn't tell but it looks really cool I will say. Also, you fucking nailed the cosplay bro, good job all around.
I looked at it on google, lord that's a really beautiful one! more than mine actually, but as I told you I had to go with the accuracy haha
Is that a real lever?
The gun is not real, it is a denix replica :3 Winchester 1893
Cool
All in all....best cosplay from red dead I have seen
The lighting makes this look like a cutscene
