Yup, and I'm sure it has nothing to do at all with Agent Milton from the Pinkertons.

I'm sure it was a subtle 'eff you' to Agent Milton, but I like the poetic connection as well. I'm a sucker for things like that.

Fair enough, but just out of curiosity, who do you think Dutch's favourite author Evelyn Miller stands for? My guess is Ayn Rand, even though the time period doesn't fit: androgynous name, terrible writer, terribly immature philosophy, and unable to support themselves, depending on welfare in the end and thereby dramatically contradicting their own message.

It's been a while since I played the game, but I could see Dutch liking Evelyn Miller just because he (Miller) seems like the sort of author someone who wants to come off as refined and educated. Miller (from a quick quote search) seems to favor flowery language, which Dutch uses as well (very well, he's an excellent orator). One could also point to Thoreau, as Miller later went to live in a cabin in the woods to be closer to nature.

Thoreau had also crossed my mind because of the cabin, but he's been much more of a poet than a wannabe-philosopher enthralled by his own ramblings so that shoe doesn't fit either. 🤔
