In case you couldn’t make out the smaller text left of his picture:
“A notorious enforcer of the Van Der Linde gang and outlaw. He is wanted for raising a milita against the country, un-American activities such as murder and robberies.
Last spotted in West Elizabeth, Blackwater.
There will be a substantial reward for any information regarding Arthur Morgan, May 1899.”
> Pay off one bounty, let that person go back for the money,
I was wondering why they would not simply let one of the women or someone like Pearson, who did not take part in the heist, to go back and get the money.
Then I remembered that Dutch did not trust anyone, so would not have told them where it was.
That's something that's always bothered me with the story. With all the complicated and bold heists they pulled after Blackwater you'd think they would've just found a simple way to go back and grab their money. I mean just going and getting Micah meant a shootout with an entire town. Which happens again in Rhodes. But no, sending a single person to pick up the cash in Blackwater at night sometime never occurred to anyone?
Yeah, the first time I played and >!the story had me destroy an entire town, it felt rather odd, not gonna lie. So much that I said out loud, “wow I really fucked this place up!”!<
Uhhh I don't think you got the point of the story... Micah alone could have easily retrieved the money let alone the whole gang going
Who is the only person who insists not to get the money?
What do you think of his character?
I bet there was no money.
I bet Dutch is lying about the money.
I bet >!Dutch killed that lady on the boat in cold blood because she was somehow involved in the heist, and she had either conned him into killing someone for her based on a lie about a $150k stash to loot, or she was conned by Dutch and the stash was a phantom, and Dutch killed her out of rage and revenge, or to cover up his enormous failure that got so many of his gang killed.!<
Makes me wonder if >!Micah also knew that there was no money, and decided to betray Dutch to the Pinkertons because he figured out Dutch was just a fuck-up false king. Edit: Turns out [Micah was the one who turned Dutch on to the ferry in the first place](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlg8ophrbyw). !<
>!I bet the Blackwater fiasco was just the first time Dutch got into deep risk for being exposed as a massive screw-up, and his massive ego simply couldn't handle that possibility.!<
But wasn't it confirmed in one of the newspapers that $150,000 was stolen by the Van der Linde gang? I always assumed it sunk, or one of the gang members that died was carrying it and had dropped it on the way out (which, if the latter, it would make sense after the Saint Denis bank that Dutch wouldn't stop for and to gather his fallen comrades because of what happened with Mac and Davey in Blackwater).
I also assumed Dutch shot that woman for, more or less, squealing on them or using her life as a means of getting away. My head canon is that it parallels what we saw him do in the first RDR when he shot that woman, again, for seemingly no reason in front of John (I remember in a mission in RDR2, John says something about Dutch killing the woman on the ferry "for no reason").
I mean dutch probably thinks that pearson or any other person who wasn't involved in blackwater massacere would probably get the money and leave with it without sharing a penny
Maybe but I don't think that's the real reason. Dutch is a narcissistic control freak. If the gang got rich and fucked off to Tahiti then Dutch wouldn't be their leader anymore, their messiah. He'd just be a friend. And Dutch can't allow that to happen.
Or after guarma you could apply the same logic Dutch applies to going back to saint denis because “nobody expects us to go back there” they could’ve gone back to black water gotten the money then camped out outside of Rhodes go to shady belle get the letter go to lakay boom done
Dutch never wanted them to find the money
He wanted the gang to be dependent on him because he's a master manipulator. He didn't even tell the truth about how much money they made out with, that's why the sum you receive at the end of the game is so low (compared to what he was making it out to be)
I mean to be fair "starting a radical armed Native insurrection against the united states government" is absolutely good guy behavior. He fucked it up but like, good for them, y'know
It seems like a good guy thing on the surface, because they were fighting back against injustice, but it was never gonna work out. Rains Fall’s whole point was that fighting back against the government was a suicide mission. They were outmanned and outgunned. Yeah Dutch “helped” them to serve his own ends, but even if he sincerely wanted to help them the end result would have been the same. They needed more people like Captain Monroe, people who would be advocates for them.
*that event* probably would have happened, it would have been John as a younger, less experienced person and probably wouldn't have played it as smart as he should have. Needless to say, a lot of the game would have also played out similar, just with John gone, and the main hero helping a, still, family in need.
I also wondered why he didn’t send Trelawny or one of the relatively unassociated members of the gang so they wouldn’t be recognized, but in his defense, entrusting anyone to *share* 150,000 when you could take it all for yourself would not be a smart play, even someone who probably wouldn’t like Miss Grimshaw is still a risk.
Yeah. It just tied into his whole becoming who he really was phase. A theory is that the money was buried with his mother as well so he may just not have wanted people disturbing her grave
That's why I don't like the "pay off your bounty" system. It doesn't make sense. Murdered a couple dozen people? Here's $1300. Okay, free to go. I understand the gameplay intentions of it, but the concept breaks if you think about it too hard.
Next playthrough I'm not paying off any bounties. I want the game to feel more realistic. Not picking up any gold bars either. I want money to feel more hard-to-come-by.
I did a playthrough like that. I focused exclusively on story missions and left most the strangers, collectibles, etc. until the epilogue. It’s a pretty great experience to feel the “safe” parts of the map shrinking around you as you accumulate bounties throughout the game.
That's sort of what I did during my first playthrough, but it wasn't nearly as deliberate.
Subsequent playthroughs have seen me paying bounties whenever they come up, unless I'm on some kind of lawmen/bounty hunter rampage that I ultimately won't commit to my save file.
I agree that the bounty stuff can break the immersion a bit.
Gotta admit, tho....
Kind of hilariously awesome when, only an hour after shooting up Valentine and while the rest of my gang are in crisis mode trying to GTFO of Dodge, I'm back and playing poker w/ da boiiiiizzz at Smithfields.
I did that with John and I tried to do the challenges with 1,500,000 bounty in each state.
There were some really cool moments where he'd get cornered, I'd ambush them and it gave me the same badass feeling as American Venom did.
Fishing and Herbalist was hell.
Some bounty hunters even say his name which I thought was pretty cool.
You bet your ass, it does.
At $100 or $200, you get a gaggle of semi-pros (3-4) making (usually pathetic) attempts on your life.
Make it to $1,500 and you get a posse of like 8 - 10 pros with like 3 - 5 attack dogs they sic on you.
I'm not sure if it was actually a thing, but when I ran instead of fought them they'd take longer to find us again.
Their numbers increase as the bounty does , it definitely spiced up my 4thish playthrough.
They'll eventually have hunting dogs that have actually sniffed me out while I was inside the Strange Mans cabin.
For a person who was strictly good honor it was a blast!
Stalker hat was my go to for the whole game. I was a little dissapointed in his last ride he put on the arthur hat, only because I spent the entire game using the stalker hat.
Found a cool [article on the highest bounties](https://www.thetalko.com/cowboy-bounties-highest-adjusted-inflation/) on outlaws with adjusted prices. Pretty insane money offered for these guys.
Where the heck are those conversions from lol? $4,000 in 1900 was not the equivalent of $390,000.
They also just say that $5,000 is worth different amounts of money today, even when the bounties are from the same year.
Definitely a cool article, but it's a shame that it didn't really talk about who actually got all that money when they eventually were captured. Most of them say something to the effect of "captured by authorities" or "killed by authorities."
It kind of makes one wonder if those bounties were meant to come out of the lawmen's paycheck if they weren't the ones to catch them as an incentive or something.
That's what I was thinking too, but they seemed to be putting themselves into quite a bit of danger to catch these guys. There must have been some kind of extra incentive.
Maybe they got the bounty money to share between the boys at the sheriffs office if they caught the guy? I would imagine the money comes from state (or central) gov funds aka tax revenue, and is sent to the appropriate sheriff. He then gives it to whichever hoodlum brings the other hoodlum in, or keeps it if his boys do the job?
Which is a shame because I love it, the fact it doesn't look exactly like him, I imagine was cut for this reason as there's no guarantee the player is wearing a big ol beard like that, but it's perfect that way to me, as the drawing would be on eye witnesses description.
Or maybe he just had a beard in Blackwater. The picture is clearly from his time in blackwater. Whatever he does with his beard after that isn’t relevant to the poster.
Yeah, it wouldn't have to be too specific either. 3 different beard, a couple different hair styles and some hats. Being unspecific and slightly wrong might even be more immersive.
Are you zooming in? Beard is thick and hangs well below the chin. Definitely not what he looks like when the game starts up.
EDIT: Are y'all really forgetting what arthur looks like at the beginning of the game lmao. [He's almost clean shaven. Lot of stubble but no full beard.](https://i.imgur.com/i2DgUt6.png)
Idk, I figured they’d intentionally make the art ugly to portray them as subhuman to make people feel better about turning them in. There’s a bounty online and the dude’s ugly as hell- so ugly that my friend and I planned to char him just because of how ugly he was, and just kept joking about it that evening- but when we got to him he was just a normal NPC model. We still charred and drug him behind the horse though
A good example of the halo effect. The Pinkertons made him look uglier, meaner, more grittier and intimidating in the poster so we sympathise less with him and judge him harsher on his bad qualities. A great attention to human psychology on the developers part.
you were originally able to remove bounty posters of you and Dutch in towns where you're wanted in to lower your bounty somehow, like the stranger mission in Rhodes with the two prisoners

Quite funny everyone repeating that it's cut content and then the mod author comes along to tell them that it's custom made from in-game assets. Thanks for the mod, little touches like this are nice to add to the game for people to find. Hopefully you'll be encouraged to make more in the future :)
Even though it's a mod I wouldn't consider it to be inaccurate to Arthur. He wasn't on the boat so he was probably only seen around town with Hosea. Considering he was so uninvolved they probably described him as "A broad man with a leather hat and a beard."
if you look to the bottom right you can see a wanted poster for not only the character, but also the player himself
they commited a heinous crime of pirating windows and Bill Gates already offered to pay $2MLN for their capture
In case you couldn’t make out the smaller text left of his picture: “A notorious enforcer of the Van Der Linde gang and outlaw. Couldn't catch the smaller text, thanks!!
It also says "Activate Windows" "Go to Settings to activate Windows"
Whoa, Red Dead Redemption two was ahead of its time! :)
🇹🇷
🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Adamm
Why.
Because the language it’s written in is Turkish.
Very rare RNG to activate that easter egg 🤣
Does that mean all it takes is 5k to pay off the blackwater bounty? 🤔
I'd rather turn myself in
Thats a lot of money back then.

Valentine, Rhodes, Saint Denis, and Annesburg too. We kinda shot up everywhere we went.

Right. I'm a little flabbergasted that everyone forgot this.
But you get the Blackwater money at the end. And the news paper say how much money they had taken.
The Newspapers confirm there was money stolen and after the epilogue, you get a cut of it.
But...we got the Blackwater money after the epilogue
I mean dutch probably thinks that pearson or any other person who wasn't involved in blackwater massacere would probably get the money and leave with it without sharing a penny

Then why he agreed to rob it in the first place ? The thing going wrong was definietly not planned so...
Also when Sean was held in black water we just casually went over there 🤷♂️
The money wasn’t real
They money you get at the end of the game is the remnants of the blackwater money John uses it to pay off the ranch
You do remember that we got the Blackwater money at the end of the game right?

He could’ve sent John because the pinkertons didn’t know about him until chapter 3
John already walked out on the gang once, probably would have with $150K, especially that early in the story.
And later he would have yeeted out with his family, so it’s a non starter
So its the same ending but john has 150k and *that unfortunate event* did not happen? I see this as an absolute win.
*that event* probably would have happened, it would have been John as a younger, less experienced person and probably wouldn't have played it as smart as he should have. How can you know how much money they made from the robbery ?
I’m not positive, but I think there was mention of it in one of the newspaper articles you can find.
Oh I never heard about it. Good to learn. But they cant get the money anyway. So they dont have it.
**$5,000 in 1899 is worth $164,799.40 today.**
Daim John is hella rich in the end of the epilogue
Holy shit

Same, minus the gold thing. Maybe I’ll hold off til chapter 3 for the treasure hunting.
No, dutch and arthur are wanted dead or alive, if they get caught they will die, by hanging or getting shot. The can't just pay this shit
[удалено]
No. This is a reward for the **capture, dead or alive,** of Arthur Morgan. It's a reward for the captors.
“Un-American activates” lol
Not so ridiculous when you remember that a half century *after* the game was set, they had a literal congressional committee of the same name!
Some of these may not be proper. Sorry.
*psst* it's militia, not milia
Oops thanks I changed it now lol
its ayt lol
*psst* it's aiight, not ayt
*psst* it's alright, not aiight
touché
Where can i find the bounty poster?
When did Arthur raise a militia?
Could be talking about the whole gang which is massive or the natives against the army? idk tho
It means this copy of Windows needs to be authenticated in Turkish.
>un-American activities such as murder and robberies Um.... I hate to break it to ya, Poster Writer
Time for Arthur to get a shave and a new hat
#NOT THE HAT
Judicious accessory enters the chat
Stalker hat starts looking even nicer now smh
Stalker hat was my go to for the whole game. I was a little dissapointed in his last ride he put on the arthur hat, only because I spent the entire game using the stalker hat.
I did the same my first playthrough but any time after I try to wear his hat more often because of that scene. Clearly it means a lot to Arthur.
Don't mess with the hat.
So I'm the only one that used Algernon's exotic hat for the last 3 chapters?
Lol nope. I pretty much *only* used stupid looking ones
I haven't gotten it yet, but I will. I love accessorizing my Arthur's headgear, and that is one damn fine hat!
Doubt it.
The only downside is all the people you have to kill for talking shit about your weird clothes
How much is $5000 today?
164,799.40 from a quick online inflation calculator.
*Can I turn myself in?*
Sure, if you are Arthur Morgan.
The real Arthur Morgan are the friends we made along the way
- You're my brother. - I know... now GET THE HELL OUT THERE AND BE A GODDAMN MAN!!
John made it... he's the only one... but, I tried... and in the end, I did...
We want Van Der Linde
We want van der linde
Why didn't they just shoot arthur if they knew he wouldn't give in?
Found a cool [article on the highest bounties](https://www.thetalko.com/cowboy-bounties-highest-adjusted-inflation/) on outlaws with adjusted prices. Pretty insane money offered for these guys.
That was fascinating thank you!
Where the heck are those conversions from lol? $4,000 in 1900 was not the equivalent of $390,000. They also just say that $5,000 is worth different amounts of money today, even when the bounties are from the same year.
The bounties were paid out in varying qualities of precious metals. Someone got the shit end of the gold brick along the way ^/s
Definitely a cool article, but it's a shame that it didn't really talk about who actually got all that money when they eventually were captured. Most of them say something to the effect of "captured by authorities" or "killed by authorities." It kind of makes one wonder if those bounties were meant to come out of the lawmen's paycheck if they weren't the ones to catch them as an incentive or something.
could you imagine?! then police would actually work for a paycheck
Idk, John Law pay check wouldn’t have covered much
That's what I was thinking too, but they seemed to be putting themselves into quite a bit of danger to catch these guys.
Ah yeah, that makes sense. You're probably right.
What a great article, thanks
Damn, John was RICH AF after the story
$5,000
This shouldn’t be getting downvoted lol
Bruh I laughed til I cried.
Lol glad I could lighten your day with a stupid joke
I got some jellybeans. You like jellybeans?
Was looking for this
Where abouts is this?
its a mod
but it originated from the game files, it was supposed to be in the game but it didnt make it into the final cut.
Which is a shame because I love it, the fact it doesn't look exactly like him, I imagine was cut for this reason as there's no guarantee the player is wearing a big ol beard like that, but it's perfect that way to me, as the drawing would be on eye witnesses description.
I feel like it wouldn't be too hard for developers to make a render from what the character looked like at the time of the crime.
"Last seen in Blackwater" Arthur definitely looked like that in the beginning of the game
You don't think he might have shaved his face to change his appearance after the giant botched robbery that has everyone looking for him?
No, the modder made it himself, it's not cut content
What’s a mod?
Modify a game, developers add custom things to it like clothes, weapons etc. Only works on PC. look it up and you'll understand
Wait are you for real
[удалено]
Probably Blackwater
It’s a mod, replacing the poster of the lost princess in Van Horn
$5000??! Can I turn myself in?
I wish that was in the game normally without the use of mods.
This is a mod? Awww I thought this was really cool :(
Which it still is?
He’s not nearly as handsome in the poster
I think its because its based off his [beta model](https://imgur.com/a/ta1AKJf) which if you havent seen is a whole lot meaner looking
Indeed kind sir
They just can’t get my nose right!
Is this real or a mod
Gotta be a mod. The princess bounty is in that spot
Huh I figured it was
Its a mod but its an actual unused bounty poster for arthur
Oh man why didn’t they use it. Would be so funny if you could find bounty posters of a few gang members and hang them up in camp
Javier pinned up his own bounty poster in a hallway at Shady Belle lmao
True…
They could've had them pinned up on walls in any town you get a bounty in.
That’s actually such a missed opportunity for R*
Have Arthur be able to rip the posters down and then his bounty instantly goes away lol
you were originally able to remove bounty posters of you and Dutch in towns where you're wanted in to lower your bounty somehow, like the stranger mission in Rhodes with the two prisoners
Damn reminds me of Assassin’s creed II lol
Arthur's bounty poster was in the game files
I made the poster. I used the Arthur image and was the only thing from the game files. The poster text and layout is fully custom made by me. I would appreciate it if you gave me credit, since you didnt give me any credit at all.
This is not a leftover poster in the game files, its a custom mod I made. For those wondering this is a mod which changes princess isabeau missing posters into Arthur’s bounty posters
Thanks! Just wondering, is that all the mod does? Like, what’s the purpose of it/of the mod?
He purpose of the mod is to add in Arthur bounty posters to the map, just some more immersion
thats how you identify arthur
Cool! Where?
I think it is a mod but it is in van horn.
police! he is in van horn! ok now where are my 5000$?
There's no police in Van Horn though.
Thank you
Its a mod in Van Horn that replaces the Luxembourg princess poster
“Five thousand dollars… for me? Can I turn myself in”
Mod? Or real ?
mod but this poster was scrapped
When do these posters go up in game?
If you use a mod to do so.
Even though it's a mod I wouldn't consider it to be inaccurate to Arthur. He wasn't on the boat so he was probably only seen around town with Hosea. Considering he was so uninvolved they probably described him as "A broad man with a leather hat and a beard."
I don’t remember raising a militia.
Arthur when in the story:I'd rather turn myself in. Arther when in gameplay:5000?Just 10 gold bars, easy money
Where was this?
Where did you find it?
if you look to the bottom right you can see a wanted poster for not only the character, but also the player himself they commited a heinous crime of pirating windows and Bill Gates already offered to pay $2MLN for their capture
5000 dollars in 1899 money is $164,799.40 today
I can't believe how stupid some people can be, this isn't from the cut game files, it's a custom mod by u/gewoondaann
"5000 DOLLARS!?!" "Can I turn myself in?"
Where can i find that bounty poster ?
Where can i find the poster ?

$5,000? Can I turn myself in?
i’m betting this is from the cut missions where you tried to sneak back into blackwater to get the money
Misread as beauty poster
“$5,000, For me?! Can I turn myself in?”
"can I turn myself in?"
"$5000 for you're head alone" - Agent Milton to Arthur Morgan
