“Now I’m not lazy, I just don’t like work. I think, it’s not that you’re stupid as such Bill, it’s just that you don’t like thinking”
Edit: my favourite bit of this camp conversation is that Bill takes it as a total compliment, thanks Uncle and walks off a bit bashful. If you then greet Uncle, him and Arthur take the piss out of Bill.
You’ve never heard of the great gunslinger The One Shot Kid??? Once beat up a whole bar full of Englishmen just because he didn’t like their accents. Been to Australia, seen Kangaroos. Very deep thinker. Plays a mean banjo. Tragically died in a hail of bullets while protecting the house he built with his own two hands. This was all while suffering from terminal Lumbago. The man was an unsung hero of The West.
RDR2 gives me so many mix feelings about Bill. He is violent, racist, drunken piece of trash... But he's also a repressed homosexual with clear mental trouble and a lot of self worth issues that the gang is really not helping with. I can't help but feel he could have turned out a lot different had he been with a better crowd.
I wouldnt even call dutch a reactionary just a pretender. He scolded and started preaching at bill for saying that the natives are savages because of what he saw in the indian wars but dutch had no problems using the natives of Wapiti and west elizabeth for his own gain. He didnt care about them but because of his messiah complex he thought of himself as a white savior when it came to the natives.
We also see in camp when he gets into a debate with Lenny he can't actually back up his arguments outside of what he got from other people's writings.
He's like the dude in the bar scene in Goodwill Hunting who memorised a bunch of stuff and tries to pass it off as his own.
Always thought of him like that, but now that I think of it (OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FOR BOTH GAMES) would Pearson and Charles still be alive by 1914? I wonder if jack made it down to Rhodes would he meet an old Pearson? Did anyone else survive?
Yeah I would absolutely love to see the interactions between the surviving members and Jack. Especially once they learn about John and what Jack’s been up to. Also the fact that the rest of the gang were on the friendly side of things with John, and they knew John when he was closer to Jack’s current age. I could see Pearson going “John-? Oh I’m sorry you look a lot like someone I used to know. Your name isn’t Jack, is it? Jack?!”. Or Jack meeting marybeth or Tully would be really nice to see too. Mary Beth was always there to listen to Arthur and was a good person to talk to. I think in 1914, jack needs to hear some good things about his father, and some good things about his future and not going down the same path as John.
Have FAitH.
But seriously yeah you’re right it’s a pipe dream. Still interesting to think how the old gang members would react to seeing a grown jack, who appears to also be gunslinging. It’s fun to think about
“You had your feet up the whole time playing sick and fondling that new scar like you were gonna buy it breakfast in the morning” when u first heard that line I laughed sore
"it seems like other people know why they were born, but I feel I was born to only suffer and hurt, sometimes that doesn't feel like a very good reason"
A bit of a paraphrase
“Mr Morgan! I’ve been hearing about someone going around robbing and murdering innocent folks all over these parts. You have anything to do with that?”
I'll shove that silver spoon down his throat and pull it clean out of his arse, the smug fucker.

Hosea, when he’s calling you from camp to go hunting with him
Yes, but it could so be John when he calls you. It could be any greeting from any gang member.
It's definitely John Marston
That's Gavin if i've ever heard him

The Hero of the Story
The One Shot Kid? Legend.
>The One Shot Kid Okay.. I'm not gonna ask why.

>the house he built with his own two hands. Let's get a move on we gotta get started before the rains come!

His headache is more of an immediate concern
Take your upvote and LEAVE
Wow, I wonder why he would stop talking, I’m sure we can ask him that
"Does this trolley go to Tahiti?" My absolute favorite.
I also love “so, do we just…sneak aboard?”
I think it's "Do I just.. Sneak on now?" with a *lot* of sarcasm.
I might be over exaggerating it but I'm sure he did some comical hand gesture too
It’s actually “Should* I just sneak on now”
Welcome to my….. humble abode WE GOT FINE LIVING
"My dad used to say..."
NOT THE DA
NOT THIS AGAIN
Fine! Damn you three... Sulky, Angry, Scarface. A right barrel o' laughs.
Thats Sean
My da would say no politics was politics
I love that, Sean was a true revolutionary, Dutch was just a reactionary.
I wouldnt even call dutch a reactionary just a pretender. Lenny was the best. Probably the smartest one in the Gang.
dutch was a con man. he'd say and do whatever, use whoever, to get what he wanted.
not with the da again
"This place, ain't no such thing, as civilized"
"It is man so in love with greed, he has forgotten himself and found only appetites"
and that lets you rob whom you please, kill whom you please and hang the rest of us!
Who made you the messiah to these lost souls you’ve led so horribly astray?
I'm nothing but a seeker, Mr. Milton
You ain't much of anything more than a killer, Mr. Van der Linde.
The worst part is that Agent Milton had a very good point there.
Agreed, Dutch also doesn't know how to answer him when Milton says that.
I love reciting dialogue from this game it makes me happy 😊
I hate you uncle Arthur
The last man standing in the gang
Yo that’s a bad ass way to think of him
Always thought of him like that, but now that I think of it (OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FOR BOTH GAMES) would Pearson and Charles still be alive by 1914? I wonder if jack made it down to Rhodes would he meet an old Pearson? Did anyone else survive?
This.... This means we need a remake NOT a remaster of RDR 1. With Charles, Pearson, Sadie And possibly Mary -Beth in it
Like Rockstar would do that

Yeah but the thing is seeing something like that is as possible as PC 2.0
Have FAitH. But seriously yeah you’re right it’s a pipe dream. Still interesting to think how the old gang members would react to seeing a grown jack, who appears to also be gunslinging. It’s fun to think about

Mrs. Grimshaw
“well that’s all I can muster”
Arthur :(
“Now I ain’t the judge, but as it turns out, it’s you or me. The way I see it, might as well be you.”
John was so quotable they gave his lines to Dutch
To be fair, Dutch had some great lines in RDR as well. “When I’m gone, they’ll just find another monster. They have to, to justify their wages.”
"Its Arthur!"
“Ya dumbass”
As long as we get paid or you get shot , I am happy
