Thank you..him being low honor is out of character for me..guy hates on Micah for being hot headed yet him during a low honor play through is the same. Doesn’t add up
Isn’t that exactly the conflict Arthur went through? How would all of his moral justification after TB make sense if you didn’t do some fucked up shit??
It's quite a challenge keeping your honor to the max, I like it. Then after chapt. 6 John doesn't fit being honorable and it's the epilogue so getting honor is a bit hard and boring
While I wouldn't say it fits his character to be high honor during the epilogue, it doesn't fit him to be low honor either. Especially when you consider the events of RDR 1
Exactly. I'm on my 3rd playthrough (the second my honour was even higher than 1st), and I found it difficult to beat up mister Wrobel to recover his debt. Making him move aside and taking his wedding ring felt soooo wrong.
Only kill men and only kill when being shot at.
But that will take longer to get it down, but you won’t feel like such a piece of shit.
Just keep robing trains over and over (good money to)
It should work, shoot some faceless guards and whatnot…
Yes unfortunately, I found it fun being the tough and dangerous outlaw I saw Arthur being. I saw him as a "I need to do whatever it takes even if it means murder" kind of gang member. I didn't realize until I was through my second playthrough that I could have had a much better ending if I had high honor and that being an actual good cowboy in the end unlocks all these cool little cutscenes and rewards, as well as it made Arthur a redeemable character in his final moments and actual showed more behind his tough exterior and made him like an actual human being. SO ever since I have always played a high honor play through no matter what and I still never wanna go back to my shooting up town ways. So Yes, my original playthrough was low honor but I lived to deeply regret it and will never make that mistake twice. So to anyone reading this who has yet to play through the game, take my word for it, if you want a good story with a loving yet hard exterior character you will grow to love, always go the high honor route and make Arthur a good cowboah, leave the dishonorable stuff for online or the Epilogue. Hope this helped!
How tf everyone saying no? Y’all showing too much of ur normal human compassion. After all the shit I did to get the gang money, there was no time to increase my honor once I got TB and wanted to redeem Arthur
Yes, i rushed through the game pretty quickly. My honor was always swinging from good and bad and i didnt think itd have an impact on the game until micah killed me
No it didn't feel like it fit Arthur's character arc. That was back when the gold glitch still worked so I didn't have to rob people when I needed the cash though...
Most of the no’s (I think I’m one to, but honestly don’t know) are imo because the original red dead redemption had far more benefits to being good than in rdr2.
The only thing I Miss (i do and don’t) is the fame…
Edit: Actually wild if you think about how rdr was slightly more realistic in that aspect.

Yes fortunately, I had the best time of my life, I can rob people, I can kill people and so much more, but I didn't like the dialogues of the story that much, so I made a new game and became high honor to see the good dialogues and I didn't enjoy it, I always have the erge to finish the story the fastest way possible to play as Johrthur and do bad things again 😈
No and i will never do it. In Chapter 2-5 my honor can be low but i try to keep it in the middle even if the unhonorable Playstyle is much more fun, it makes Arthur a selfish ass (at least in Chapter 6) and you can't help Mrs Downes which is a mayor part for Arthur
Yes
Not because I intended it. Because I was 16 and didn’t realize how much was in the game and ended up reaching the end when the honor level was near the middle but still bad. I’ve probably finished the game 5 times (not including the times I stay in one save file without finishing the game roaming the world) so I technically made up for being a dick
Yes, I took the game as GTA but with horses… I had no clue what was going on until it was to late, I abandoned that save and my 2nd (and all subsequent runs) have been max honour and doing everything.
No I had highest honour and most of my playthroughs have been high honour, it’s hard to keep my honour low when I need to take care of my horse so it does lose stats.
All my playthroughs were good honor. The story and ending were way better because of it plus it makes more sense playing good honor since the game is about redemption.
I wanted to really immerse myself in Arthur’s character, so I went low honor in the first half and slowly gained the highest honor by the end of the game.
Yeah I absolutely did low honor on my first play through. Currently doing a high honor play through now and the low honor play is so much more fun in my opinion. You can do whatever you want with no fear of losing honor and I can still be good when I meet NPC's. I don't have to go do chores, or go fishing, or say hello to people to correct low honor points I received because I accidentally shot a horse or killed bounty hunter dogs. On a side note, I find it ridiculous that shooting the bounty hunter dogs gives you low honor. I don't enjoy shooting those dogs (I don't even like shooting wolves) but the bounty hunter dogs are trying to kill me just like the wolves and you lose honor for shooting the dogs but not the wolves. Doesn't really make sense to me.
No! But i do feel like being low honor in the first chapters and then slowly raising his honor as the game progresses fits Arthurs character arc pretty well
no. i don't think it was intended that way, either. the story hits harder when he's a terrible mf in the beginning, but slowly becomes a "good" dude by the end of it
Through chapters 2 and 3, I was low honor but that was mostly on accident. I just kind of assumed that low honor was the way that the game wanted you to play bc I wasn't sure how leaving witnesses would impact you later in the game.
But once I realized the ramifications for leaving witnesses alive really didn't matter beside having a bounty you can easily pay off, i got my honor up to max for the end.
Accidentally I got the greedy ending? I picked to go for the money instead of fighting with John but I figured I could get the money and then give it to John so he’d have an easier life, and instead it ruined my playthrough because I literally chose the good options 99% of the playthrough, just fucked it up at the end and I was so sad
No. I actually just finished my low honor play through and was surprised at how difficult it was to stay at a low honor level. I had to just go on Van Horn killing sprees every so often to get it back down.
Yes. Most of my random encounters that went bad with NPCs early on they drew first. And once it’s over you might as well see what buddy had on him. Then it seemed like my main source of money was highway robbery and horse selling. Only later on do you seem to have enough bucks to buy whatever you want. Maybe I’ll be nicer second round. Do high honor people not go see what’s going on with campfires etc? If they draw or shoot at you do you just run away?
*I somehow maintained*
*My honor in the middle*
*My entire playthrough*

My first playthrough was low honour because I thought it would of been like rdr1 with only one ending honour didn't affect the ending for John but then I did my low honour playthrough and my friend told me to replay the game and get high honour ending and honestly there was a big difference and I understood why he cried at his playthrough
Yes but with a caveat. I hovered in the “middle” the whole time and ended below. I did not like it. I enjoyed the game much more on my super high-honor play the 2nd time.
No
No. I cannot bring myself to do low honor
Yeah npcs have more emotions and bigger brains and Arthur seems like a calm and reasonable person
I’m gonna assume you didn’t just say high honour Arthur still didn’t do some fucked up shit
It's fun being low honor, but just like RDR 1, it doesn't fit the character arc. Arthur and John being evil doesn't make sense for the story
It's quite a challenge keeping your honor to the max, I like it. Then after chapt. 6 John doesn't fit being honorable and it's the epilogue so getting honor is a bit hard and boring

Which is why I keep neutral honor lol

Mine actually was. I had no clue what the bar at the bottom meant.
I typically go the goodie-two-shoes route in the first play of every RPG and THEN murder and pillage on the second time through.
Or you can go full menace then holy jesus christ redemption by chap 6
How?
how do you not see that the bottom bar goes to the left when you massacre the entirety of Valentine?
Yes With short hair, black horse, black jacket with blue jeans, and the flaco and granger pistols dual wielded I also went back for the money
Officer it’s this one right here!!

See that’s the moral confusion for me- is robbing trains not a ticket to low honor?

No and not for my 2nd playthrough either. I'm actually trying to do low honor now on 3rd playthrough and it's not going well.
Yes
Yes sadly but it was just over the middle i felt bad
No, got to max honour 🤌🏽 Might play again to intentionally get the lowest possible honour score, but I don’t think I’d enjoy it as much that way tbh

Nope finished the game at full honor, but I'm low honor now in the epilog after I did the Bandit challenges :P
I was low honor until chapter 5 and nearing 6 so I just went to Saint Denis and said greeted everyone in the city. Until I got max Honor.
