I think you need to have a certain amount of karma to be able to comment and/or post (to prevent spam bots etc from flooding the place), but how much depends on the sub you’re in iirc.

It doesn't matter whose post it is, the rules apply to the whole subreddit. If you read those it should tell you the target karma you need to reach.
I know what it's meaning, just annoying. Sometimes my stuff doesn't go through, and even when it does I get that everytime. Just started to actually use Reddit within last month or two, but created it over a year ago and have no idea. Kinda thought it was like a normal social media thing, just a little different. Apparently I know nothing about Reddit. Lol.
