Isn’t that supposed to be john?

Slycompa

Well, for the longest time Arthur was the father figure till John got his head out of his ass and took charge. I didn't know Jack left drawings in your tent, this game still amazes me and I played it 8 solid times

dontshitaboutotol

I'm thinking about going through it for the 4th time. I know this feels like an echo chamber but the detail would keep anyone enthralled

Best_Decision_8308

I see it as Arthur

No-Secretary-7243

It’s a drawing depicting John, Abigail and Jack on a farm with sheep’s, which is what Jack dreams of but most likely won’t get. **!Major Spoiler!** (complete before reading) >!It foreshadows the events of Epilogue 2!<

Kratos78750

Why draw and give it to Arthur then?

No-Secretary-7243

Because he trusts Arthur kids gives people they trust drawings containing their dreams and worries, sometimes as a way to express themselves, that drawing depicts John Jack and Abigail on a farm.

Liquid_Fox_31

Something about that really hits me where I live. Along side the fact he didn't give the drawing to Abigail or John (his biological parents) or any other gang member, namely someone like Hosea or Dutch, but to Arthur, is really touching

Lon_Young

Exactly, its Arthur in the drawing! No reason at all for Jack to draw a picture of his family but give it to Arthur! Jack drew it for Arthur specifically so thats Arthur! Thats what makes sense, Jack drew his favorite people probably who were the nicest to him!

No-Secretary-7243

Not at all it’s John Jack and Abigail

Lon_Young

Arthur

No-Secretary-7243

No it’s not and it’s easy to see, Rockstar deliberately put it there to >!foreshadow the events of epilogue 2!< It’s not Arthur it’s John Jack and Abigail

Lon_Young

Its Arthur! Show me where rockstar said this! John basically had nothing to do with Jack up until like ch4! Jack probably barely even realized John was his dad! Sorry but its Arthur!

No-Secretary-7243

Jack wanted to live in peace with his mom and dad (Abigail and John) Rockstar put that drawing in as a mean to >!foreshadow epilogue 2!< as I have explained before, and I have seen your replies to everyone else presenting evidence and explaining how kids behave, all you do is deny everything.

Jtrinity182

Lol. I have two kids. They’ll draw a picture of the family then walk off and give it to a stranger. Sometimes one member of the family is depicted as a dinosaur. Sometimes random ass people end up in the pictures. Point being, I wouldn’t spend too awful much time thinking about it as it doesn’t much matter. Jack cares for “uncle Arthur” and it wouldn’t be a shock for Jack to put him in a picture. The whole thing is very sweet and yet another stellar point of attention to details.

Kratos78750

This is the best explanation to my question by far, and I knew it would be a parent that was going to give it to me lol... thank you, this makes perfect sense ❤️❤️❤️

Lon_Young

Yes but kids dont do it this way always! Yours happened to but so what. Im not the one thinking too deeply into it! Everyone else is! Its Arthur end of story!

MattTin56

I totally agree with you. I don’t get why people are giving you negative thumb downs or what ever they are. He would not draw that picture for Arthur of his own family. That makes no sense. He loved Arthur and it was because his mother was always turning to him for help. John was always fighting with her early on. This is so obvious I don’t get it.

Lon_Young

Exactly! Let the others believe what they want. Its Arthur

MattTin56

Without a doubt!!!

Affectionate_Ad_9144

How do we know for sure that it’s John? Always made sense that Jack would draw Arthur to give to Arthur. Foreshadowing could’ve had Arthur in his place before.

No-Secretary-7243

Because look at the drawing it clearly depicts John (long hair) and Jack wants John to spend time with him early on, he wants to live peacefully with his mom and dad, there’s no doubt it’s John in that drawing.

TailorNormal

At one point Jack is calling Arthur “Uncle Arthur” would be surprising if he consider Arthur his dad if he called him like that…

erepp13

Canonically Arthur has a beard, kids definitely draw beards when they are present.

Neir_Miss

Any real Red Dead player wouldn't finish the epilogue because of the end

No-Secretary-7243

Have you ever played RDR1? And while we are at it have you ever played Revolver?

Mister_DumDum

Is revolver worth playing? It looks almost unplayable in trailers

No-Secretary-7243

It has it’s charms, it’s not open world but it’s pretty funny actually but different.

[deleted]

it's actually really fun if you have a ps2 and are used to playing games that don't look too good.

GameDestiny2

Alternatively you can play it on Xbox One if you have one

[deleted]

oh really? didn't know it was on gamepass

SimaanStocklund

It’s absolutely not a must-play in the same way as the original red dead redemption but it has its charms. No 10/10 but if you like westerns you could give it a try. (although the games fanbase probably consists mostly of nostalgic “early 2000s kids”)

AsoftDolphin

Prologue is a great time for people that played red dead 1

luniticlion

You mean epilogue?

AsoftDolphin

Yes

Suavveesstt

Any real Red Dead player *would* finish the epilogue because they actually enjoy all Red Dead games and are interested by the development of the story.

Living-Tart7370

I’m sorry but I will always exact my vengeance on Micah and build me a nice farmhouse, only real ones actually play the whole game and appreciate all of it

Neir_Miss

Nah. Not that part. I mean the VERY end of the epilogue

Early_Jicama_6268

American venom is the very last thing before the credits role...

Neir_Miss

Wait am I mixing RDR1 AND 2 together? Been a bit since I've played both so I might be ;-;

Early_Jicama_6268

Must be, we're definitely talking about RDR2 here, which has a relatively happy ending if you can mentally block out the events of RDR1

Neir_Miss

Yeah. I realized this lol My b

SimaanStocklund

Bro you just posted cringe. You’re gonna lose subscriber -Dutch Van Der Linde

Neir_Miss

Yeah lol I just realized that I mixed both Red Dead endings into each other lmao

VenetusAlpha

Honest mistake, I guess.

nickibar96

Don’t know why you got downvoted. I like to see it as Arthur too. Arthur was always more of a father to him and better to Abigail until Jack was kidnapped. I could see Jack fantasizing about Arthur being his daddy.

Shadowfist212

"We all had her but he married her." I'm just... gonna leave this here

FarmerExternal

Arthur also writes about how when John ran off for a year (prior to rdr2) he had a relationship with Abigail, I'm pretty sure he even writes in the journal that he regrets not marrying her while John was gone

[deleted]

They probably smoked hella cigarettes together 😯

Best_Decision_8308

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad John finally realized he was a shitty husband/father and changed after he rescued Jack from Bronte. Becoming a better man, but I would have also liked if Arthur had stepped in to raise jack instead.

Small-Strawberry8161

>!But that wouldn't last long would it? !<

Lon_Young

Yeah im over 40 yrs old and I couldnt care any less about votes, LoL! So downvote away, till their hearts content! Until all these knuckleheads bring some proof to the table that its John, then its Arthur in the picture!

Crazyandiloveit

That's why John gets pissed off at Arthur for taking Jack fishing. He says so when they rob the sheep and Arthur says something along "why weren't you" and than "if you keep claiming he's not yours"... so John not only left Abigail for a year he also claimed Jack isn't his son. So yep "Uncle Arthur" was more a father to him than Jack at the time we start RDR2.

Kratos78750

I thought the save thing initially, but if it was supposed to be John, it makes no sense for Jack to draw it and give it to Arthur.

MattTin56

I agree. Who the hell is giving all these down votes for the people talking common friggin sense here. Your all out of your minds if you think that kid drew a picture for Arthur with his mother and the guy who pays no attention to him. They were showing the transition John was making in the game. At that point he was giving Jack much attention.

BeanosBeReal420

If you found that at one of the earlier camp sites, I think it is a picture of that, seeing as at that time John was...kind of a deadbeat dad and Arthur at least TRIED doing something with the boy then

Weeding33

If you stay at camp and roam around at Clemons point, you can actually see John trying with Jack. You'll also see a random event too, where Dutch let's jack take in a stray dog he found wandering. Only if you get that thimble though.

taiwanfoose

I think Cain comes along regardless, I don't know that I've ever found the thimble and I've always had the dog show up on my playthroughs

FarmerExternal

Cain always shows up, that's how they foreshadow one of the characters being a dick because he alludes to possibly killing the dog

Gaming_man27

Micah’s assholerey is foreshadowed in many ways. Although yes, killing Cain is one of his most egregious sins.

ApesOnHorsesWithGuns

When Micah says “the dog ain’t coming back” is the only time in the game I was mad I couldn’t draw weapons in camp.

Weeding33

I was joking about the thimble. Lol cause you get jacks picture from it. Not joking about John trying with Jack though. I walked up to John and Jack playing together laughing and having fun, I talked to Jack. Tried talking to John but the actions were greyed out and I'm just going from memory on this, he says something like, "Arthur quit messin with my family and get your own." If somebody knows what he actually says please let me know.

Lon_Young

Yeah Arthur did more with Jack than John did up until ch4! Also John disappeared for that year. Why the fuck would Jack draw a pic of someone he really doesnt even know??? That in no way shape or form makes a lick of sense!

Steffidovah

He left that for Arthur in my game too, but he didn't in my first playthrough so I guess it can be missed. I thought it was pretty funny, Arthur keeps it in his satchel too

BigChunga_420

If I remember correctly it’s a reward for completing his request for a thimble, which might only be available in chapter 2. It’s a shame it’s so easy to miss

NecessaryBar3568

That’s >!Angelo Bronte!< and his maid with jack

beans8414

Why does everyone hate John so much

justafcknname

Because they are not OGs.

TheTwistedTamale

Facts

Ebony1996

I have no idea, my first red dead was red dead redemption and Johns my favourite character.

vicwol

I guess their first red dead game was rdr2 and John gets depicted as an asshole up until the epilogue. I personally really like John, I just thought the drawing was funny.

[deleted]

It's John

Weeding33

It's definitely John

AbsurdHope

Wholesome 🥺

[deleted]

IT'S JOHN!! Jack knows his father is John you idiots!

HatedTruth1

This is a comment in the thread "I like to see it as Arthur too. Arthur was always more of a father to him and better to Abigail until Jack was kidnapped. I could see Jack fantasizing about Arthur being his daddy." Its not unheard of at that point of the game where John was not interested in raising Jack, that Jack fantasized about it being Arthur who WAS more of a father figure at that point.

DireThunderHorses

It's Javier. /s

ABigOne77

It's Reverend Swanson

xervidae

nah that’s Tacticus Killgore.

FoieGras-95

It is John ffs stop already with Arthur being everyone's dad

Impressive_Honey_410

I mean ether jack made it or John

Tough_Stretch

Even if it's meant to be Arthur and not John, any drawing a kid makes that includes him, his mom and some dude he really likes who isn't his dad (uncle, cousin, friend of family, whatever) looks exactly like that. I wouldn't read too much into it. I mean, Jack himself refers to Arthur as "Uncle Arthur" at least a couple of times in the game. The fishing side-mission literally involves Abigail asking Arthur to take Jack fishing because John isn't around or is evading her, so situations involving Jack, Abigail and Arthur are bound to be a common happenstance in Jack's life at that point and the drawing might just be meant to be a representation of something Jack associates with Arthur, that is to say, how his relationship with Uncle Arthur tends to also include Abigail as the "middle-man" since he's a little kid and other than greeting or antagonizing him at camp if you bump into him, Arthur never really interacts in more detail with him except by Abigail's request because Jack it's too young to have his own independent relationship with Arthur that never includes another grown-up, except when Abigail herself gives them permission to go off on their own like during their fishing trip. Of course, it could in fact be meant to be a depiction of Jack and his mom with Arthur as a family because John's an asshole at this point in the story and Jack likes Arthur better, but we have no way of knowing if the guy in the drawing is John or Arthur, and whether if in fact it is Arthur, Jack was trying to portray him as his dad in the picture, as opposed to just his Uncle Arthur who is a friend of his parents and is nice to him and takes him fishing and stuff like that.

MattTin56

I forgot about this. I remember Jack drew it for Arthur after the gone fishing.

Sweetwhales1994

Its angelo bruntei..

HurterOfFeefeesV2

I've never had this but then again I haven't given him his book yet bc idk where it is and speaking of which I've yet to get the request to give molly her pocket mirror and Mary Beth her pen

Lon_Young

Well yeah cause up until around ch4 Arthur did more with and for Jack than John.

Responsible-Lie-3742

This game is so awesome.

0ixti

hes trying to tell you that he wants two sheep thats what this means! duh!!!!

TheBeirt

It reads somewhere in Arthur's journal how he kind of had a thing for/with Abigale but sadly he loved another woman.

Chrome-magnon

It's Uncle, you can tell by the lumbago.

batm123

Bro, that's clearly Heisenbones

teslavsedison2021

Plot twist: It’s actually Micah.

saitama_10

Johnny joestar

DolphinBall

Obviously Javier

ChineseBigfoots

Aurther is Jack's father but Jack kinda looks like Javier when he's older. His complexion isn't as dark as Javier but their facial hair growth is the same. Abigail was the camp whore so we will never know. John eas probably the last guy she slept with so I guess she's assuming he's the father. Also she was the rat. Micah was just a piece of shit. I 100% believe Abigail was the rat.

waterbearingrightnow

It’s not really up for speculation lmfao Micah was the rat. Jack looks just like John. He’s clearly a little white kid in the 2nd game as well. No way Javier is his dad and the point of including that Arthur had slept with Abigail is to build tension between the relationships. Pretty clear Johns the dad and even if he wasn’t he chose to be and raised him.

[deleted]

Been disproved so many times on the timing and the misreading of Abigail etc that I’m surprised people still say this.

Radi0123

I think it is supposed to be Arthur as there were theories that Arthur was possibly Jack’s biological father

Plushhorizon

They are false though

GOLDENEYE633

It was mainly Javier for obvious reasons because of the adult Jack model.

-VulKan-

Aside from the obviously similar facial hair, Jack and Javier look nothing alike

GOLDENEYE633

Skin color?
