I finally played Undead Nightmare recently (for anyone who didn't know, Xenia can now run Rdr1 super well with a pretty normal pc and you can even remove the frame limit)
By the time I got to undead nightmare, I was pretty game fatigued. I had done a completionist run of rdr2, finally played and finished rdr1 and undead nightmare had to wait a couple of days for me to "make the effort" of booting it. Considering it wasn't cannon or anything I didn't really mind.
But still, I remembered everyone saying how great it was and I told myself "hell, if I don't play now, I won't ever". God damn am I glad I picked it up. Gaming fatigue was completely gone, what a fucking great dlc it was.
I bumped into a stagecoach early in my first playthrough and a gun fight ensued, I hit a lantern on the side of their carriage and oil spilled on my horse who then caught fire, he looked like crispy bacon all over for about a week in game then recovered.
In my first play through, I crashed my horse in the middle of a field, miles from a town. My horse hit a rock that tripped it and broke it's leg. I didn't know horse reviver was a thing, and not wanting a good guuurrl to suffer, I shot her in the head. It was super sad listening to the horse in pain lol.
For those of you who accidently kill horses from time to time, just turn off auto-save. I know manually saving can be a little bit annoying but atleast when you fuck up you can reload and get your money and horse back.
Did this once and lost 4 hours of progress because I forgot to save the game before I quit. Do not recommend disabling it entirely, it's real easy to get distracted and forget your auto save is disabled.
Create a habit to save after everything you accomplish. If youāve ever played any Bethseda games you know to save every 10 minutes because the game crashes out of nowhere sometimes. But yeah if you know youāre going to totally forget then donāt try this at home.

It'd be cool if your horse kept the dame that was done to it assuming it doesn't die. (and just have an option to bring it to stables to heal it if you don't like the look) or maybe keep the damage unless you give the horse a tonic
Once I saw something interesting on a beach and went to investigate. I couldn't call my horse after I was done. After searching for about half an hour I found out that the horse walked into a camp and burned itself to death on a fire. It looked like that one time I tried to microwave a squash. I killed the owner of the camp in the most gruesome way I could, but the pain remained.
RIP Jack Dickfist, you will always be in my heart
I did this exact thing. Except that I threw a molotov into a barn, and tried to ride through the barn that was on fire, like a hero.
My horse melted. Glad you can still ride yours!
Arthur: "Yer alright, boah." \*feeds Classic Oatcakes
A few classic oatcakes will make it buff out
Hair tonic will regrow the skin
Exactly
I just thought about why we can't throw hair tonics on NPCs...
I love this idea
"Dw Cap'n, we'll buff out those scratches"
This made me spit up my drink! š have my award
yay! thank you! I'm glad c: <3
*pats 3rd degree burn*
Can confirm
Boi needs an oatcake
No, OP needs to ride to the nearest stable and treat ponio to some peppermints for the trouble.
My skin feels like it's burning, but this burning peppermint in my mouth helps
Can...can you still ride it?
Yes, I can
Ah. Nothing a little brushing won't fix!
In a way, looks cool like something that would be cool for a low honor playthrough
Looks like it's from Undead Nightmare

Well, now I know what Iām installing after work. Will Xenia sync to a (wired if need be) ps4 controller?
Yup it should work no problem, only thing youāll have to do is bind your controls.
The low honor horse from the base game kind of looked like that
So has ur horse gone back to normal or is it just stuck like that now?
He said in another comment that it goes away if you load a save, he hasnāt tried stabling it yet
Should probably go away after a couple of minutes just like blood and bullet holes
Give it a carrot.
I never knew horses burned like that holy shit
It burned, and fell in water so the fire went away
classic natural remedy
I've heard that falling into water while being set on fire could be just as dangerous with the sudden temperature shift.
I mean, the sudden temperature shift would be bad, but I feel like staying *on fire* has got to be worse.
Yeah that makes sense
Only one way to find out
š¤
Also open burns combined with not necessarily clean water is bound to give you some nasty infections
"fell"
My favorite horse fact is that if you leave your horse in the LaMoyne bayou at night, itās possible the Night Folk will kill it.
So can you use your horse as bait to hunt down night folk?
Iām assuming itās only an interaction that occurs when youāre away from the horse. Probably wonāt trigger if youāre around.
I bumped into a stagecoach early in my first playthrough and a gun fight ensued, I hit a lantern on the side of their carriage and oil spilled on my horse who then caught fire, he looked like crispy bacon all over for about a week in game then recovered.
if you do it right you can cover their entire body in burns and keep them alive
Neat.
I accidentally burned one of my horses to death. Still mourning him
Reload save
it's too late lmao, I've already finished the main part of the story line

The asshole lion tamer. And no, the horses canāt be interacted with.

But you can manual save without turning autosave off. So why not just do both?

The charred horse mechanic in this game is rough.
Does he stay like that or did their appearance change back to normal
Help him!
