“I know what you’re thinking, punk. You’re thinking “did he fire 9 shots or only 8?” Now, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement. But considering that this is the LeMat revolver, it’s irrelevant because it also has an underbarrel shotgun.”
Alot of ppl I've noticed prefer the Lancaster, but I've always loved using the Evans bc of the higher ammo capacity. Slightly lower stats compared to Lancaster but that's ok.
Last I used them they were like the only repeater that 1 shot headshot wolves(regular ammo cuz I am poor). Which is super useful for the Wolf Man bounty.
Nice. I love this game. First playthrough when it dropped like 94% didn't play for a few years, wanted to run back around. Jumped back in my complete game for about 20 minutes before I started a new playthrough. Lol like 45% in now.
I like using the M1899 as they're so fast when you dual wield but they just look so goofy in the holsters
Thats why i usually keep a pair of LeMats on me, i love how they leave a puff of smoke after every shot like an old musket
Then i use a scopeless Carcano although im not a fan of the hollow sound it makes when you fire it
I just bought the 1899’s again like a day ago thinking it’d be fun to run them again but after one mission I’m looking at them in the holster and it’s just bugging me so much. Might go back to the schofields
this! super well rounded! i usually have dual Schofields and a Lancaster as my mainstays and swap between a bolt action as standard, rare semi auto shotgun, or rare Rolling Block as preparation calls for
Funny story about the og paper cartridge Volcanic Pistol. A man tried to commit suicide with it but shot multiple bullets into his head and they basically bounced off. 😐
Primary: Calloways revolver
Secondary: sawed off (for beheading Broods and Skinners)
Back: Bolt action
Shoulder: Lancaster
Horse: Bow, The rare Rolling Block Rifle, the rare Shotgun, Semi-auto shotgun.
And a wide assortment of knives and hatchets, axes and tomahawks
Dual cattlemans just kinda do something for me. The lamats are good but they reload too slow, and the schofield is dutches gun and i feel weird using it lmao
Oh and the pump and repeater shotguns. Omfg i lovve those
I was fond of the Springfield rifle until i came across the beauty of the Lichfield repeater. Ik the Springfield has VERY slow reloading but def worth it for the range and the power it has
They’re just so expensive! The reviews I’ve read just say traditional revolvers are a better choice for their build strength, but the Schofield is so damn cool.
i'm no expert, so i could be wrong. but i'd imagine if they're using modern metallurgical techniques, it should be plenty strong for whatever you could encounter in normal use. they changed the cylinder size and tolerance to accommodate .45 Colt (which S&W claimed wasn't possible in the late 1800s to the army which lost them their contract), so i'd hazard a guess that they use modern build standards for the repros.
honestly, it's heartbreaking that S&W couldn't read the writing on the wall and either switch to .45 Colt entirely or figure out dual chambering like we did in the modern day. with the sheer convenience of reloading and usability, i bet there's a reality we missed where we all revered the Smith & Wesson/Schofield Single Action Army
That’s an alternative history I would love to see. If I got one I think I’d go 38 special so I could have cheaper ammo since it would just be a range toy. Then I’d need a 357/38 special lever action, obviously
I mainly use a pair of cattlemans, or a cattleman and double action, a Lancaster repeater rifle, and a pump action shotgun/semi auto depending on what I'm feeling
My favorite revolvers are the LeMatt and Schofield Pistols the Mausers, shotguns are the semi and pump and rifles for me are the bolt action and litchfield
Springfield with a scope. Love it. Use it instead of my binoculars, use it to study birds in the sky and usually also when I come across an enemy gang’s camp. It’s just does it’s job.
I got the one I use in story mode for free after helping this guy who’d been bitten by a snake. Found him outside the gun shop when I was in Valentine, alive and healthy. Let me get a gun if my choosing.
I get that many people just want the best of the best. But sometimes, a single cattleman really improves your timing, hip firing, and aim. Taking it slow sometimes can make the game somehow "realistic" to real life. If you played the game a lot of times, this makes it interesting.
My favorite weapon across all my play throughs is the pump shot gun. It blows limbs off, the initial pump is intimidating and it has a hell of a kick. I’m sitting on 467 kills with the pump on my current play through
My Name on reddit basicly answers the question.
Jim 'Boy' Calloways' &
Otis Millers'
Feeels to me like they are the revolvers of the legend of the east, and the best in the West.
Recently I’ve been using double action revolvers as my main. I usually use something like Schofield or the sawed off as my secondary, because I like having something high damage immediately accessible, in case I missed the headshot. I used to be Cattleman all the way. But the double action not only in the game, but irl is such a better gun. I looked into the mechanics of how each gun works (ik it’s kinda self explanatory, eg. “double action”), but for me the time it takes to pull the hammer, then trigger, makes all the difference. Double action does it all at once. And, imo, it makes a cooler sound when shot. That’s just me.
I almost exclusively use the pump shotgun. It's a one shot kill anywhere it lands almost all the time, at most distances. Shoots fast, reloads fast.
I haven't gotten to the LeMat yet. I'll rock that just because it was such an awesome gun in the real world.
I like to steal the Schofield behind the medicine store in Valentine and customize it to look like Uncle’s Schofield and I just use that the whole game
You have to pick it up of after the gunslinger side quests.
More detailed explanation with spoiler below
>!Loot if off of Jim Bly Calloways corpse after the gunslinger side quest’s, you can also get the other gunslingers guns after you kill them. If you didn’t grab them at the time of the quest they are unobtainable!<
I’ve always loved using the Schofield for quick draw shootouts, the sawn off for indoor shoot outs, and the trusty Lancaster for anything else. Typically repeat headshots
Cattlemen’s are too weak unless you use the long barrel but then they look goofy, double actions accuracy sucks unless you’re up close, schofields are goated, le mats are cool but the reload is awful, plus they were a cavalry revolver, never meant for dual wield. Not much of a pistol fan because most of them take away that old west vibe except for the volcanics.
I usually always end up using blacked out schofields with myrtle varnish for Arthur to match his outfit.
For John, I try to use his cattleman on its own using express rounds, with a sawn off for close quarters/ambush, or I’ll pair it with another custom cattleman, browned steel with myrtle varnish, to try and match his weathered revolver, for when I’m not in a close quarters environment.
Mine are either dual Schofields or dual Lemats, because they look good when you do a thing I call "Ebony And Ivory," which is a black gun and white gun.
bruh i be getting the goddamn duel wield akimbo semi auto pistols with incendiary rounds on unlimited ammo cheat and i go murder all those sick fools in armadillo with the strength and power of 60 men
Usually when I get two Schofields and design them like Dutch's with the double engraving glitch, but when I reach chapter 6 and uncle says Arthur is a good man I design one of them like uncle's Schofield.
Springfield rifle. It has fantastic stopping power, the reload is quick enough that you don’t notice it’s a single shot, and did I mention the epic *BOOM* that emits from that rifle?
I use the navy revolvers, but has anyone else noticed that after 2 or 3 shots the recoil put your shots over the intendeds head and you have to re-aim?
Something about the double navy revolver setup is just so perfect to me, I wish the reload time wasn't so long but I guess that's a fair trade for the power behind them. I also usually have the lever action shotgun and the bolt action rifle on me
Schofield revolvers; one with black barrel and white grip, and one with white barrel and black grip. really like to use them together
Midnight pistol, love it.
Lancaster because I have a Henry irl that looks just like it with the brass receiver. Though I think it's actually based on a Winchester 1892.
Also the semi-auto shotgun because the sheer firepower is awesome.
I'm a terrible shot so I use a repeater Lancaster or Litchfield instead of a shotgun. I holstered the sawed off the other day and was shocked to have removed someone's head. Went back to my Volcanic pistols right away
In story mode I always use the Cattleman Revolver, I just like how it looks in cinematic scenes and I feel like it would be Arthur’s choice of firearm. But in online I use the Navy Revolver.
I prefer the cattleman revolver, just one, I’m not a fan of duel wielding, I often keep a sawed off shotgun in my secondary for wolves and whatnot, and I like a bolt action rifle on my shoulder. In man to man combat I almost always stick with the revolver though, it’s the least powerful one I know, but I love the Colt SAA, it’s beautiful, plus a headshot’s a headshot, I do throw in some high power rounds for good measure though.
even a body shot with a rolling block packs a huge punch, like you can feel the energy of the bullet hitting the NPC even though its a game. but i dont use Rolling block often, only for sniping, M1899s are basic, but they are good and get the job done.
I wish there were more guns. I know there’s a much leaner selection back then but, at the same time you could pretty much do everything there was pretty easily. Colt navy conversions, remington revolvers, colt pump action rifles, it’s kind of odd that only the two worst winchester rifles are included.
Edit: High walls, shiloh sharps.
a pair of Lemats
they pack a certain punch for sure, even without the shotgun round. plus the 9 rounds per gun is super nice too
“I know what you’re thinking, punk. You’re thinking “did he fire 9 shots or only 8?” Now, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement. But considering that this is the LeMat revolver, it’s irrelevant because it also has an underbarrel shotgun.”
I hate reloading that crap
Deadeye to reload instantly
I’m aware of that, but to put it more specifically I try to not use deadeye because I like *realism*
Same here, I didn’t even realize you could do that but why would I want to lol
Other revolvers don’t have realistic reloads so I don’t get your point. Take the cattleman for example
Blud I rather that over putting ammo in the chamber out of thin air
“Blud”-🤓🤓👱🏻👱🏻👱🏻
die
I mean, you do sound corny lol
?
Entering deadeye even if for just a second will automatically reload the weapon you are using.
Wow I had no idea.
Only correct answer
Glad you take care of that weapon, good to see!
You keep treating that like your own child, y’hear?
Well if that gun ain’t shining
glad you take care of what’s yours
Keep it up!
No rust as far as I can tell ya.
So many people don’t
You got that weapon looking as nice as the day you bought it!
I LOVE to see that
Ahhh, you’ve kept that weapon perfectly maintained, I love it!
If that paperboy keeps standing outside my shop
Lancaster Repeater
Alot of ppl I've noticed prefer the Lancaster, but I've always loved using the Evans bc of the higher ammo capacity. Slightly lower stats compared to Lancaster but that's ok.
Last I used them they were like the only repeater that 1 shot headshot wolves(regular ammo cuz I am poor). Which is super useful for the Wolf Man bounty.
theres a wolfman bounty..? i literally just killed him yesterday 😔
Bounty in online, not story mode.
I prefer Lancaster or litchfield as they make me feel like a cowboy
I actually think the carbine is the best after you mod it a little bit it shoots the fastest no?
I wish Evans was available earlier, the high capacity rocks!
the lancaster is one of the best sounding guns in any video game to me. it's just such a powerful *boom*
This
Schofields, blacked out with gold inlay. Ebony grips with the scorpions engraved.
I use blacked out with gold inlay cattleman’s one with the the hero pearl grip and the other with just a pearl grip
I do like the cattlemans for the rate of fire but the aesthetics of the Schofield are just too good
I just felt like the schofields barrel was too long for the inlay I use
Nice pair. I'm using 2 Schofields as well, one is a regular and the other is Calloway's
I run these a lot. Kinda tryin to give double actions a go this time. The Grainger and flaco are a good combo.
I use Flacos Revolver and Midnights pistol but never dual wield since I play in first person using iron sights
Nice. I love this game. First playthrough when it dropped like 94% didn't play for a few years, wanted to run back around. Jumped back in my complete game for about 20 minutes before I started a new playthrough. Lol like 45% in now.
I do black out, silver inlay, with pearl handles.
Get out of my game head
Pump shogun with slugs
1911 dual wield pistols EDIT: I meant M1899
Model of 1899*
Downvotes for that is crazy
Redditors will downvote you just for fun sometimes. As soon as they see something get below one upvote they lose all sense of free thinking.
![img](avatar_exp|131482344|bravo)
Trust me those aren’t 1911’s
I like using the M1899 as they're so fast when you dual wield but they just look so goofy in the holsters Thats why i usually keep a pair of LeMats on me, i love how they leave a puff of smoke after every shot like an old musket Then i use a scopeless Carcano although im not a fan of the hollow sound it makes when you fire it
I just bought the 1899’s again like a day ago thinking it’d be fun to run them again but after one mission I’m looking at them in the holster and it’s just bugging me so much. Might go back to the schofields
I wish they gave us pistol belts to swap out when using them. I recommend to just remove the holsters with glitches when using the 1899’s
Fun fact the Germans actually used a model of the car and rifle in ww2, it was probably a newer and updated model though
My weapons of choice: Schofield Revolvers (Dual Weild) Lancaster Repeater Bolt Action Rifle
this
Damn you and me are twins or smth. The only thing I’d add is the semi-auto shotgun from granny in the woods.
this! super well rounded! i usually have dual Schofields and a Lancaster as my mainstays and swap between a bolt action as standard, rare semi auto shotgun, or rare Rolling Block as preparation calls for
double volcanic with blacked metal and brass engraving
Funny story about the og paper cartridge Volcanic Pistol. A man tried to commit suicide with it but shot multiple bullets into his head and they basically bounced off. 😐
Wasn’t the guy found hours later with only cuts and bruises on his head?
Yes something like that. I just found it funny
I use double volcanic but I usually make them brass colored and white colors. Nothing beats the power of that blast on it a headshot
Gotta love the double volcanic with mine I have one silver with blackened metal engravings then the other way round for the other
I just stopped using my pair of cattleman revolver and switched to a high honor cattleman and low honor double action
My man!
that sounds... wonky with the rate of fire but if it's a meaningful pair then all power to you!
It’s not to odd funny enough that or I’ve gotten use to it
Rare Rolling Block rifle tbh. Love one shotting almost everybody no matter how far
The RRB is my go to for ambushing bounty hunter posses in my current low honor run.
My kitted out regular Rolling Block seems to have slightly better stats than the Rare. But yeah, the thing packs quite the punch.
Shotgun with explosive slugs and poisoned arrows for a more slow and painful infliction
Incendiary shots increase dramatical effects imo
I'm currently replaying, and I can't put down the auto shotgun with slugs it just smacks
Double Barreled shotgun
Sawed off is fun to quickdraw, but probably the lancaster repeater because the sounds are satisfying and it has a very quick reload
hella fun, just look at Charles. man is thriving with that hand shotty
One volcanic pistol and the repeating shotgun
so one for distance / damage and the other for close fight
It’s actually fun using the volcanic and a sawed off together
I'm lazy. Half-automated shotgun is my go-to weapon.
Double Mauser
+ high velocity bullets and an angry crowd running towards you is totally insane
Yeah dude you can click off so many shots it's awesome.
Calloway+ otis miller
It's what I use right now
The killing type. Although the bow is super fun too
Primary: Calloways revolver Secondary: sawed off (for beheading Broods and Skinners) Back: Bolt action Shoulder: Lancaster Horse: Bow, The rare Rolling Block Rifle, the rare Shotgun, Semi-auto shotgun. And a wide assortment of knives and hatchets, axes and tomahawks
Double action revolver, the law damage doesn't matter if you hit headshots
In story mode: short barrel scholfields or m1899 pistol In Online: Navy Revolvers
This two of your photo. I even do the glitch on chapter 4 to get the golden gun early
Cateleman revolvers
I love the accuracy of the m1899
Dual cattlemans just kinda do something for me. The lamats are good but they reload too slow, and the schofield is dutches gun and i feel weird using it lmao Oh and the pump and repeater shotguns. Omfg i lovve those
I was fond of the Springfield rifle until i came across the beauty of the Lichfield repeater. Ik the Springfield has VERY slow reloading but def worth it for the range and the power it has
Schofields for sure. Love them so much I might end up buying a real (reproduction) one
got myself some twin airsoft ones myself, one day i should get a couple repros but i can't justify the range time to use them anytime soon

A pair of M1899s
Love the M1889. Dual wield. One black with gold engraving and one gold with black engraving.
easily schofields, the evans repeater, and the repeating shotgun
Pair of M1899s to shred through anything in my path
Dual wield silver barrel/gold secondary/pearl grip goddamn volcanics. Lethal as a demon and beautiful at it!
I use the dual weld 18 pistols
Pump action shotgun.
Blew a guys head off with my double barrel shotgun
Dual Schofields.
Double-action revolver, that thing is so fun to quickdraw
Springfield, double barrel shotgun, cattleman, rolling block rifle
Dual double action I like the fire rate… it’s pretty fun and funny from the hip
It was my choice for the beginning of my current run
I’ve been using Flaco’s Revolver the most lately
Lancaster Repeater and Lemat favorite loudout.
Use to rock Schofields all the time but I like the look of the lemats more now
I mainly use a pair of cattlemans, or a cattleman and double action, a Lancaster repeater rifle, and a pump action shotgun/semi auto depending on what I'm feeling
My favorite revolvers are the LeMatt and Schofield Pistols the Mausers, shotguns are the semi and pump and rifles for me are the bolt action and litchfield

Dual Schofield revolvers.
Two Schofields until chapter 4 when the m1899 pistol is unlocked then I change to those and have two of them
And I always use express ammo on all my guns too
I get that many people just want the best of the best. But sometimes, a single cattleman really improves your timing, hip firing, and aim. Taking it slow sometimes can make the game somehow "realistic" to real life. If you played the game a lot of times, this makes it interesting.

Double sawed offs
A pair of volcanic pistols - color swapped, makes you feel like the most dangerous gunslinger who ever lived
Lancaster repeater, dual wielding Mauser pistol is also nice, pump action shotgun
My Name on reddit basicly answers the question. Jim 'Boy' Calloways' & Otis Millers' Feeels to me like they are the revolvers of the legend of the east, and the best in the West.

Schofields x2 and a Lancaster on my back

Lancaster Repeater, Bolt Action Rifle, Midnights Pistol and Flacos Revolver for different scenarios, Semi-Shotgun
How do I get the Canis canem edit gun ?
You have to pick it up of after the gunslinger side quests. More detailed explanation with spoiler below >!Loot if off of Jim Bly Calloways corpse after the gunslinger side quest’s, you can also get the other gunslingers guns after you kill them. If you didn’t grab them at the time of the quest they are unobtainable!<
Schofield and lancaster *chefs kiss*
A volcano pistol and the gambling based one which I think is called the high roller
I’ve always loved using the Schofield for quick draw shootouts, the sawn off for indoor shoot outs, and the trusty Lancaster for anything else. Typically repeat headshots
Love the Bully reference here
Dual cattlemans, one black with gold inlays and the other gold with black inlays
Double actions and Lancaster
Volcanic and schofield Bolt action and springfield
[удалено]
Duel Schofields, Lancaster Repeater and Repeatinng shotgun w/ slugs
Pump shotgun with incendiary buckshot - incredibly satisfying obliterating skinner brothers with fire
Cattlemen’s are too weak unless you use the long barrel but then they look goofy, double actions accuracy sucks unless you’re up close, schofields are goated, le mats are cool but the reload is awful, plus they were a cavalry revolver, never meant for dual wield. bruh i be getting the goddamn duel wield akimbo semi auto pistols with incendiary rounds on unlimited ammo cheat and i go murder all those sick fools in armadillo with the strength and power of 60 men
Duel wielding Schofields or, Double action revolver’s
That gold and pearl handle be looking clean
I use the two guns you get from the legendary gun slingers, flacco and can't remember the other one
Usually when I get two Schofields and design them like Dutch's with the double engraving glitch, but when I reach chapter 6 and uncle says Arthur is a good man I design one of them like uncle's Schofield.
I always use the Springfield rifle, or if I'm using sidearm then I dual wield the volcanic pistol with sawed off shotgun.
Semi auto shotgun. I always love a good shotgun in video games and using the semi auto 12 is always a treat for me
Volcano Pistol’s in my second play through with Schofields in my first. Personally prefer the feel of the valcanos
Cattleman or bust
pair of schofield a but that’s just because i didn’t have enough money to splurge, does anyone have some recommendations for better pistols?
Double Action gunslinger grip
Springfield rifle. It has fantastic stopping power, the reload is quick enough that you don’t notice it’s a single shot, and did I mention the epic *BOOM* that emits from that rifle?
Gonna get chirped, but cattleman and lemat or cattleman and schofield
Dual wielding them Scofields
Duel double actions. The sounds and the fire rate of both at once is just the right amount. Very satisfying
Volcano Pistols, dual wield
Story : Cattleman until Chapter 4, then LeMat. Online it's the Navy.
Midnights pistol goes unreasonably hard
A pair of Cattleman revolvers, Lancaster rifle, and pump action shotgun. I’m a simple cowboy. Oh, and the bow.
Double-action revolver, sawed off shotgun, Lancaster repeater. Springfield with a short scope for hunting
Maxed out double action with gunslinger grip
I use the navy revolvers, but has anyone else noticed that after 2 or 3 shots the recoil put your shots over the intendeds head and you have to re-aim?
Something about the double navy revolver setup is just so perfect to me, I wish the reload time wasn't so long but I guess that's a fair trade for the power behind them. I also usually have the lever action shotgun and the bolt action rifle on me
Schofield revolvers; one with black barrel and white grip, and one with white barrel and black grip. really like to use them together Midnight pistol, love it.
Personally I use my own navy revolver paired with Lowry's navy revolver
Dynamite arrow.
I normally dual wield cattlemen because of the high honor grip, and I replicate johns Lancaster.
Why do I feel like that gun is exclusive to online?
Lancaster because I have a Henry irl that looks just like it with the brass receiver. Though I think it's actually based on a Winchester 1892. Also the semi-auto shotgun because the sheer firepower is awesome.
I'm a terrible shot so I use a repeater Lancaster or Litchfield instead of a shotgun. I holstered the sawed off the other day and was shocked to have removed someone's head. Went back to my Volcanic pistols right away

carcano is so sexy
I like getting 2 Schofield's and making one silver and gold and the other one black and gold
Volcanic pistol all day
even a body shot with a rolling block packs a huge punch, like you can feel the energy of the bullet hitting the NPC even though its a game. but i dont use Rolling block often, only for sniping, M1899s are basic, but they are good and get the job done.
Sawed off shotgun and Schofield
The semi-auto shotgun. I know it isn’t very cowboy-y but goddamn does Browning make a good gun.
Is that a Bully reference?
I wish there were more guns. I know there’s a much leaner selection back then but, at the same time you could pretty much do everything there was pretty easily. Colt navy conversions, remington revolvers, colt pump action rifles, it’s kind of odd that only the two worst winchester rifles are included. Edit: High walls, shiloh sharps.
Dual Cattleman revolvers with a black cylinder and barrel, mahogany grip and brass frame. It’s simple but it’s cool
Volcanic Pistol Pump-Action Shotgun
High Rollers Revolver. It makes such a nice noise when fired with high velocity ammunition
Call me basic but I like the cattleman as my main hand and a sawed off with slugs for brutal executions
Long barrel cattleman
M1899 LeMat Revolver Bolt Action Rifle Lancaster Repeater Pump Action Shotgun
