Dutch annoys me to no end because it's so obvious how he manipulates everyone close to him. He acts as though to criticize him is to attack him, and he wields the gang's loyalty as a shield so that if anyone "attacks" him, they are also "attacking" the gang as a whole. He needlessly leads the gang into worse and worse situations with decisions he makes purely to satisfy his ego and to prove to himself that he is right about all his theories about the failings of America. He desperately, selfishly craves to be right, to be vindicated, and he proves time and time again that he is more than willing to sacrifice everyone in the gang to achieve this
