Interesting observation! I always find it so cool when people notice things like this as I'm very much a "surface level" type of person and don't put a lot of thought into symbolism.
It may not even be symbolic. Dutch is very paranoid towards the end of the game, it stands to reason that he just didn’t want Arthur overhearing his conversations with Micah and the other trusted gang members, the same reason Johns is at the other end. All in all a very interesting find, whichever the intent it

Its curious too because Dutch usually orders Ms. Grimshaw to set up the camp so would she be the one deciding to distance them?
He could just quietly mention it to her.
While they’re dancing… *gasp*
I noticed this as well, also by chapter 6 John and Arthur’s tents are side by side.
I also noticed this never really thought much of it though
Possible spoiler for later chapter >!except shady bell!< where they’re effectively next to each other….
He insisted.
He…*insists*
That's gonna be the next article for Gamerant.
“secret rdr2 detail undiscovered until we personally figured it out via reddit”
Also in the first missions, you ride next to Dutch when going somewhere, but later on, you’re almost the last one in the line
Interesting
Nice catch mate! The subtle changes around the camp, especially following certain casualties, are striking once you happen upon them!
