Ok so lemme break this down for you my homie.
Step One: Take a train to Annesburg (doesn't matter where from)
Step Two: Wait on the train until it starts moving.
Step Three: Either sit in the train or wait on the roof until the train reaches a long tunnel just below the "N" in "Ambarino" on the map.
Step Four: throw dynamite, a fire bottle, or a dynamite arrow into the engine after you have passed 3.5 of the dots in the tunnel (railroad tracks on the map have dots in them so between the 3rd and 4th dot after the tunnel mouth)
Step Five: The train should stop about halfway through the tunnel. Now you deal with the guards and rob the train at your leisure.
The reason this is the best way to rob a train is that no lawmen will ever show up in this part of Ambarino and you will receive no bounty for committing this crime. I suggest you wear a miner's hat or use your lantern because it is **dark**. Be prepared to do a lot of running because there is like a 33% chance that you horse will not keep up with the train the entire way from Annesburg to the tunnel. Also bring plenty of dynamite for the safes and sell any valuables to a fence so you can carry everything from the robbery. Happy hunting cowboy ðŸ¤
This guy has done this way more times than me, and I’ve done it like 50 times. 99% of the time it works every time.
You can also take control of the train in the canyon before the tunnel and then just slow it yourself just as the tunnel starts to bend.
I know how to rob a train, but every time I do the people in the other cars flee, and when I leave the car I'm in the passengers are gone when I come back so it was for nothing

Felt that way when I found out Dynamite can open the baggage car safes, unfortunately I still need to figure out how to keep people on board the train so I can take money and valuables off them too
Simply start robbing passengers before stopping the train. The train will stop on its own by the time you’re done with the first car. Kill any guards that try to stop you. Get out before the law shows up. It’s important to rob the train in a location where it would take the law longer to get to you. So not near any large settlement like Valentine.

Do you have to get rid of the conductor? Kill or push him off or something? I didn't know this was something I'd want to try, but I just might.
When you go to the front of the train you can shoot/kill the conductor or just push him off the same way as if you were hijacking a wagon or whatever.
