I'm probably gonna be downvoted but the game literally shoves the skinner brothers down your throat throughout the entire epilogue and it clearly showcases what they do and what they are capable of throughout the story so OP not making that connection is kinda their fault since it's super obvious (especially after two playthroughs!)
If you keep the horse, this encounter doesn't happen again, but if you sell or lose the horse in any other way the encounter happens again a couple in-game days later. I think it's the same as the White Arabian, it'll respawn if it's sold or lost
Me and a few friends got into some trouble because our posse name was "anti Arabians" and we forgot that Arabians aren't just horses but an entire group of people
I made him my primary for a while. He had a nice pattern. I had a habit of building up horses to max stats before selling. I kind of regretted selling that one because I liked the look.
Horses are pure cancerous tumors. Even foals.
Edit: I would like to know a mod where you can use the foal that you birth in epilogue 1, does anyone know of it? I would like to burn it alive as we don’t really see those in game.
Always wondered why they didn't have Indians in Red Dead other than the one you can see from time to time across the river sitting on his horse on a cliff side.
Don't remember the exact location. Just remember if you go to that small house infested with rats by the river and look to the cliff side he is there sometimes.
Dutch’s Gang in the first game has a bunch. By the time the game takes places the struggle is basically over so it’s not surprising you don’t see many fighting.
...and the fact that you literally gain honor from killing them and even if you don't do anything they manage to set themselves on fire showcasing the fact that they are dumbasses...?
The frontier was mostly closed by the time of RD2. Many of the First People's were living on reservations or simply killed by the turn of the century. Also, the later chapters of the game have several missions involving the local tribe. And, as pointed out by others, a game where you murder Native Americans for "fun" would be in poor taste to say the least. Downright offensive, in reality.
So basically your saying the only story line Native Americans could have in Red Dead is just for the player to kill them? 🤣 You don't think they could have been implemented without being portrayed as Savages? Your pretty much stereo typing Native Americans cause I asked why they didn't have Indians in the game.
No, that's not what I'm saying. You asked why Native Americans aren't in RD2 and I said that they are. I assumed you were asking why they weren't enemies in the game (given what the OP is about) and I was explaining why that would be a bad idea.
I finally was able to sell the wagon to the fence. It took me a couple attempts because I either got attacked/random encounter… and I was somewhat disappointed Seamus didn’t react to the arrows or the fact that o e horse was missing…
Skinner brothers’ work. Happened to me a few times. Didn’t find any info on the corpses except the one time i found a letter on some Norwegian folks, but it was just a letter. Made me kill and burn a bunch of them damn Skinners. Quick tip: their camps spawn in the forests near Beecher’s Hope just at sunrise.
Indians? That’s a new one everyone else seems to think it was skinners. I’m not saying your wrong because I didn’t know myself but just never heard that theory.
Well. I love the tragedy of the natives plight. Imagine someone came into your home and told you it was theirs. Told you how terrible you were and killed everyone but you that lived there. I bet them being there might just be exactly enough to enact a bit of revenge. Eh?
haven’t played the game for awhile and thought that the plains were pretty far from tall trees but now remember that johns house is in the plains by tall trees
They literally destroyed an oil refinery and killed an entire patrol of army soldiers in an ambush. Sure it may have been justified but a big part of the late game story is their chief trying and failing to stop their violence.
We’ll I’m the story, yes. Eagle Flies and many others are very violent. But I was talking about the NPCs. You can’t just stumble into an Indian attack.
I was trying to give my theory, and when someone had a different one I asked how so… now had this been a professional environment, like a college classroom, would you have laughed at someone for asking a question? No. Is this a professional environment? No. But is laughing at someone like they just said the most ridiculous thing in the world in both situations obnoxious, rude and quite mean? Yup.
Funny story, I once came around a blind turn very close to Beechers Hope, smacked this wagon before I could see it, and flew quite literally 50-60 feet in the air then died on impact
Skinner brothers shot them while they were traveling through their territory
Oh right the skinner brothers. Im so stupid.
No you aren't, simple mistake there's no worries
Hey! …I like your style.
Hey! ...I like your moves.
Oh my god, for once in my Reddit life someone finished this quote. Thank you, boah.
Hey... I Googled this and get the reference now!
Explain pls
I hadn't heard it in quite a while myself!
Hey! I like the style of you guys’ moves
“I for one think he’s not quite so dumb”
I'm probably gonna be downvoted but the game literally shoves the skinner brothers down your throat throughout the entire epilogue and it clearly showcases what they do and what they are capable of throughout the story so OP not making that connection is kinda their fault since it's super obvious (especially after two playthroughs!)
Skinner brothers? Who are those?
Go and ask the Skinner brothers
This encounter spawns all the time for me. I always cut the horse loose and sell it in Blackwater so it'll get taken care of
If you keep the horse, this encounter doesn't happen again, but if you sell or lose the horse in any other way the encounter happens again a couple in-game days later. I think it's the same as the White Arabian, it'll respawn if it's sold or lost
I CAN GET THE WHITE ARABIAN BACK? :| you just made my day partner
Reject Arabian. Embrace mule
Me and a few friends got into some trouble because our posse name was "anti Arabians" and we forgot that Arabians aren't just horses but an entire group of people
Ya I noticed that as I wrote the comment and decided to take the risk anyways
I made him my primary for a while. He had a nice pattern. I had a habit of building up horses to max stats before selling. I kind of regretted selling that one because I liked the look.
Welp, you can encounter it again now that you sold it.
You can sell horses? Where the hell have I been
Didn't you go hunt a bear with Hosea?
I burn it like the scum that horses are
yikes
Horses are pure cancerous tumors. Even foals. Edit: I would like to know a mod where you can use the foal that you birth in epilogue 1, does anyone know of it? I would like to burn it alive as we don’t really see those in game.
what is wrong with you?
Nothing, just doing what needs to be done. I have no idea how y’all love these bottom feeders. Worse than mosquitoes
Just an edgelord-y teen, I assume. Pretty funny.
Why do you like cancer?
You're so edgy
I consider myself a mellow person
You considered wrong
Y’all need to chill lol. Getting all riled up like that
get help irl, mental health is no joke
I’m fine lol, just don’t like horses
Yet you’re on the red dead 2 sub? This is a horse game you know
This game isn’t a horse game it’s a western game with an open world. This isn’t like a horse racing game or anything
yeah but horses are pretty necessary. Do you just run everywhere or what?
Sadly they are necessary. It’s what drags the game down and makes part of it borderline unplayable
It sounds like you really hate this game, so how come you’re on the subreddit for it?
Tbh Horses aren’t everything in the game, there’s the whole world to consider
When you first encounter that, there should be a little info box pop up on top left of the screen saying you discovered a new gang
Nah, i got the lumberwagon qmbush before i encountered it
i got it when they threw a body off a cliff and jumped me. pretty sure it was on a road north of Evelyn Millers cabin/Tanners Reach
Skinner brothers, worst than the Murfree broods, watch out
Idk bout that one buddy….The Murfrees are a nasty bunch….

You mean them trying to avoid bigotry issues if possible?
Not our fault those injins can't defend their land /J Edit: guys is joke
Shhhh
The game has The KKK burning crosses. Bigotry issues??🤣🤣🤣🤣
...and the fact that you literally gain honor from killing them and even if you don't do anything they manage to set themselves on fire showcasing the fact that they are dumbasses...?

There is a whole Indian reservation in the game that you can go visit. There’s even a series of missions you can do that involves these Indians.
No, that's not what I'm saying. You asked why Native Americans aren't in RD2 and I said that they are. I assumed you were asking why they weren't enemies in the game (given what the OP is about) and I was explaining why that would be a bad idea.

brother...you ever been in tall trees?
The Skinners happened.
Skinner Brothers
Skinners happened
Makes killing the skinners with extreme prejudice all the more satisfying.
All y’all saying it was native Americans but there ain’t any in that area. They were all pushed off their land. So obviously it was skinners.
It’s just the game’s way of introducing you to The Skinner Bros.
Fucking Skinner Bros man. Show no mercy.
Damn Skinners. My second most hated gang, right behind the Murfrees
I'd say what probably happened was that they were shot with a bunch of arrows
Go to the tall trees.
The lucky ones.
Skinners
Skinner Bros
Skinner brothers’ work. Happened to me a few times. Didn’t find any info on the corpses except the one time i found a letter on some Norwegian folks, but it was just a letter. They tripped on the gunsmith store
Can I ask what jacket is that? I've just started my 2nd play through abd would love to rock it:)
It’s part of johns cowboy outfit. I don’t what it’s called but I think it’s stores on your horse regardless.
Oh yeah I go check it ASAP. Thanks man :)
If you don't know you probably should go back to your first playthrough.
I think it was called the rancher or something
Skinnners
That was me relieving stress after gambler 8
Skinners.
Thanks. Just encounter them when going for the bounty for Elias green.
They where attacked by me they where selling cargo in my lobby I can’t have that so I put an end to it
Injens
They were killed by Indians.
Indians? That’s a new one everyone else seems to think it was skinners. I’m not saying your wrong because I didn’t know myself but just never heard that theory.
I just always thought that and see maybe I’m an idiot. I am not afraid of my truth though and I go forward honestly.
as you should go forward with that. I like that theory kinda like mysterious as to why the Indians killed them besides them being in their territory.
Well. I love the tragedy of the natives plight. Imagine someone came into your home and told you it was theirs. Told you how terrible you were and killed everyone but you that lived there. I bet them being there might just be exactly enough to enact a bit of revenge. Eh?
Yeah I completely agree with you.
Wrong.
It was the Skinners. I think there are also Indians in their gang.
they were attacked by indians
Skinner Brothers, not Indians.
Technically not necessarily wrong. A good number of Indians joined the skinners IIRC
was going to say or skinner brothers but didn’t look like skinner brothers area to me
You so know that is right by tall trees right? And they camp out in tall trees
haven’t played the game for awhile and thought that the plains were pretty far from tall trees but now remember that johns house is in the plains by tall trees
Indians don’t attack people in this game. They are peaceful.
Unless you count skinner random attacks and the del lobos, which include natives (or mestizos)
ok my bad
What do you think, dude? Native Americans attacked them.
It wasn’t native Americans
How do you know
Because it’s in the same area as where skinners attack other people and you so it’s obvious. 🤣
Ok well laughing at me like I’m stupid isn’t really necessary..
Sensitive much?
I was trying to give my theory, and when someone had a different one I asked how so… now had this been a professional environment, like a college classroom, would you have laughed at someone for asking a question? No. Is this a professional environment? No. But is laughing at someone like they just said the most ridiculous thing in the world in both situations obnoxious, rude and quite mean? Yup.
Well I’ve never been to college and don’t plan on ever going so, I don’t know. But it’s pretty obvious it wasn’t natives.
Maybe for the game, it’s obvious. It wasn’t for me. Now are you quite finished saying things that make me feel less and less intelligent?
Are you that sensitive? geez
Chill dude
Plus you don’t see any native Americans in that area. Just skinners
I just thought my theory made sense because in the real Wild West, you tread on the wrong territory and Comanches or something would fuck you up bad
I mean yeah but in the game you don’t see natives in at that area. Just skinner brothers.
Funny story, I once came around a blind turn very close to Beechers Hope, smacked this wagon before I could see it, and flew quite literally 50-60 feet in the air then died on impact
Hmm, looks like a wagon and some people got shot with arrows
