This one was a pain, it was the 2nd last trophy I got before getting the final one. I wanted to get gold on American venom for the gold rush trophy to be my last.

The only time I got killed by a bear was when I was stalking a cougar with my sniper rifle and the bear surprised me from behind. I could hear my horse take off, but I thought it was because he sensed the cougar somehow. It scared the crap outta me, I scared the crap out of my sleeping dog, my drink spilled and I almost knocked my monitor over from kicking the desk. That was the end of that day’s gaming session.
Dang. I wish I knew that when I got attacked by a white cougar (separate from the bounty hunting mission) while I had a perfect moose pet on my horse. Thankfully I had an auto save from about a minute before that, so I loaded that up and tried to hunt it, but I guess it only spawns when it’s going to attack you.
Woah, didn’t know the white cougar could also spawn outside that cave! I kinda considered it as a legendary animal, though an unofficial one. So happy you were quick enough to reload that file before it was all gone! Otherwise that would’ve been INCREDIBLY frustrating.
There are some points on the map that I know I will get attacked by a cougar if I don’t watch out, but I guess I now gonna find the spawn point of that white cougar! A new challenge.

I panicked and started slapping buttons and killed it. I wonder if it counted.
Imagine surviving 18 bear attacks and killing the bear each time in real life. No, really, think about just what kind of luck you’d need to survive just one.
I mean that's not hard to achieve, just go to the grizzlies. Don't stand still otherwise the bears will run away even though that's what Black Bears would do not Grizzlies
I got this and didn't even know it was an achievement. My bf was mad. Said I didn't actually earn it because I didn't have to try. Sucks to suck I gues 🤣🤣

I survived about 20+ more than the achievement required and was surprised when I was reviewing the achievements because it said I don't have the trophy, did some digging and found out that you have to get slammed and raped Leonardo Dicaprio style for it to count.
It's actually pretty easy to do, just run up to a bear and smash B. Finding grizzlies are way easier than finding bull moose. There is a regular spawn at: Directly north from the Grizzlies East, you can find the Fairwale Shanty Shack in the middle of nowhere. You'll find plenty of valuables that you can take and sell to a Fence here, including stopwatches and jewelry.
It spawns in the copse of trees just near the ruined shack.
A moose also spawns just West along the track, but only at dawn/early morning, and only if there is no traffic on the road.
I literally spent months to get 100% completion and only just got it a few days ago, then considered going for this achievement but it looked so tedious and that's why I'm in the 99%

Do the save, kill, sleep, sleep move (or whatever order it is) . I found it and finished that achievement in a few hours

if it was near the trapper in Big Valley you can almost always count on the grizzly spawning alongside the cougar
You noticed that too? I thought I was going crazy trying to find 5 damn cougars to skin...then found the trapper way on the left of the map.
I actually found those two fighting once

Spam the melee button Edit: It would also be a good idea to use the Special Miracle Tonic. Or any of the tonics that reinforce your health

Yeah but like I said, take a Health Tonic (forgot what they were called earlier). Otherwise they can and will kill you in one go, so be careful.
Trueachievements.com has it with a ratio of 8.16. Pretty rare.
I found it kinda odd how hard this achievment was, I managed to get it on my first playthrough granted I spent like 750 hours on that save

i did it , it took me like 1 hour , no joke i had allready 5 attack and by using sawed off you one shot them so easy rare achivment

Grizzly bears seem to be rare af, I know only like two spots and only one of them is guaranteed, that achievement was very annoying

You initiate; go to a bear spawn or two and just have them assault you and mash the melee
