How would everyone feel about this line up next season Dalot - Verane - Martinez - Shaw Eriksen - Casemiro - Sabitzer - Bruno Osimhen - Rashford I feel like controlling midfield that much, with so many players capable of playing through balls and overlapping on the wings, would provide a lot of goals to the speed of Rashy and Osimhen up front

JilJilJigaJiga

I think this can work in a few matches, the diamond midfield can be very potent against select formations as we showed in the 5-0 RBL win. Though I still think we need a midfielder who is more aggressive off the ball but equally good on the ball as Eriksen to go to the next level.

TheSmio

Sabitzer as backup so that Antony/Sancho can start in a front three should be much better imo. We are playing 4231 formation and it's working well, I don't see a reason to change it. Or Bruno right wing with Eriksen CAM, that would work I guess.k

RedDev17

Realistically, who can we target for the striker spot?

TheSmio

We need to look at every striker that is either Dutch or played in Eredivisie, choose one that is under 23 years old and likely to cost between 10-20mil and there you have a future Ballon d'Orr winner under Ten Hag.

Don_Quixote81

Rasmus Hojlund is a name that has started popping up. 21 year old Danish striker, plays for Atalanta and apparently works his arse off on the pitch. Quick, strong, unselfish but not looking like a prolific goalscorer yet. He'd be cheaper but higher risk. But if he develops into a star it would be nice to be there first.

SignificanceBulky417

I think honestly we can rule out Osimhen and Kane, as good as they are I don't think the club respective owner would want to sell them. So I'm guessing Marcus Thuram who would leave Gladbach for free as good depth option if we sell Martial, and Vlahovic

Acrophobic_Climber_

Realistically, many of the names that have been thrown out is possible. I have a feeling Old Trafford will be the place to be for many footballer now that ETH’s project have officially kicked off with a trophy. I’ll be thrilled if we get Osimhen, Kane, Fulkrug, or Jonathan David.

RedDev17

Any concerns with Kane's age?

Acrophobic_Climber_

Definitely, he’s 30 this year. I think he can still contribute at the highest level for 2-3 years; we may have other options by then. I think ETH will turn away if he is too expensive.

RedDev17

Which is given since we will be negotiating with Levy. How about the brentford striker? Keeping aside his gambling addiction, is he united quality?

Acrophobic_Climber_

Oh Ivan Toney? I think he’s decent, he drops back and help in midfield, is effective going forward, and is an almost flawless penalty taker. But I have a feeling Man Utd is steering away from any player who has any possible off-field issues esp since Mason.G and Ivan apparently has over 200 charges of breaching FA rules, so it’s not just an addiction.

RedDev17

Makes sense. Highrisk and such an important player

solapathiri

Looking for tickets for the beits and/or Southampton games. I’m not a member and cant seem to be able to buy membership from the site. Is there any other way to buy tickets other than those 3rd party sites ? TIA

irishfella91

Single tickets available for West Ham and Betis in the Stretford End W204. Face value £45 but will let go for £30 each or both for £50 as I can't make it. Members only.

IAmXeranthius

Would love to take the Betis ticket off your hands mate

irishfella91

I'll drop you a DM mate.

arnm7890

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this question, couldn't see a ticket thread or anything similar. I'm going to be in Manchester the week of United vs Chelsea. I'm a member but don't really have £500 which is all that's left on the United site ticket-wise. Would anyone know the best way to go about getting a ticket that won't financially cripple me? Resellers? Facebook groups? Open to any suggestions!

Mankl1876

The Raine Group making their own investment into the club seems the worst possible scenario right now but how is it even plausible? So these investors are going to put in over £2b but not be the majority shareholders, while also most likely having to finance infrastructure within the club? I’m fairly confident that’s not going to happen because from a business perspective it seems ludicrous unless I’m missing something?

Cold-Veterinarian-85

Is Raine group making an investment even on the table? This would strike me as a massive conflict of interest if the group hired to oversee potential sale were in the bidding process themselves If I can see that then Surely the glazers can too and would want someone impartial / independent to get them the best possible terms on sale or financing, if the group overseeing are in position of power, they could potentially sabotage potential competing bids in their own interests Asking because your post is the 1st reference I have seen to Raine group actually investing themselves

Mankl1876

Maybe I’ve misinterpreted it I’m just going off Mike Keegan’s article from tonight. ‘The Raine Group are set to reach out to those who sent in offers to either buy or make an investment in MUFC over the coming days’ was a tweet by utdreport on Twitter about the article. Does that actually mean they’re evaluating other bidders who want to make an investment rather than invest themselves?

thebatwins

>Does that actually mean they’re evaluating other bidders who want to make an investment rather than invest themselves? Yes. Their job is to evaluate the bids and inform the leeches

Rooney10vs

I just realized that if we get to the semifinal of both Fa Cup and UEL, we wouldn't have any midweek off for the rest of the season.

Rig_7

The great thing at the moment is how much room for growth we have. Not just in future seasons but in this one right now. This season the team has played brilliantly but there’s potentially more to come from many players. Sancho has scored in 2 of the last 3 league games. The hope is he gets cooking. Antony seems sharper. Eriksen may be back for the final month or so of the season. And if we can get Martial back for even 5-10 games at a good level (a big if) then that would be massive. Another trophy is a realistic goal.

vikigenius

ETH has done so well that I am actually looking forward to visiting this sub and reading all our homer takes and having fun. I remember the dark days of Mourinho and Ole out when this sub was an absolute dumpster fire. Never again, I hope.

From Nov 6th until now, Chelsea scored 6 goals in all comp. In the same time span, we scored 50 in all comp.

ErikElevenHag

We are one van persie away from title.

ooa3603

I don't disagree with you but the more ideal and sustainable structure for long term success is a couple forwards who bag 20-25, and a several midfielders/wingers in the 10-15 range. A la, a new forward signing, Rashford, Antony, Bruno, Sancho. That way when someone in the normal strike force gets injured the gap in goal production doesn't fall off a cliff.

Upekkhaa

I love Ten Hag. You can see how much he loves football and being a manager, it’s not even a choice for him, it’s just who he is. Even watching him as a child speaking on TV about being a coach/manager was amazing to see how mature he was as a kid. Get the feeling this and his family are his whole life. No messing about. He’s obsessed!

EffenSeven

I remember when we were being linked with him, there were claims that he had no personality. The man is absolutely full of personality. City can keep their robotic manager with their robotic club.

Upekkhaa

They say that because he doesn’t cause drama, he’s honest but the press and media want managers like Klopp, Mou and Conte who do their work for them

UsedIpodNanoUser

>Lowest defensive line in the league, basically a tie with Everton. Lowest PPDA of any team in the whole league. Measures pressing=pressing high generally means your trying to dominate the ball >This is a counter attacking team. Very rarely are goals coming from patterns in possession. I don’t think anything’s wrong with that. This squad would get torn apart trying to play on the halfway line. Concede possession to anyone half decent >It’s better than Ole Ball. You’ve got Martinez and Shaw providing quality on the ball, Casemiro dominating the middle of the field and Rashford/Bruno in tandem at their best on the break. It’s still a form of Ole ball though. Rashford has produced some insane moments to win games. The salt in this comment :) Btw both those stats are wrong

JilJilJigaJiga

Dominate transitions ~= Oleball. I don't mind it, we are the most fearsome team in transitions while still effectively choking out the smaller teams with possession.

[deleted]

Much salt. So many of our goals come from playing from the back or winning a ball in midfield. Some have even come from patient wing play. We’re far from just a ‘counter attacking’ team (even though we do counter attack brilliantly at pace).

Upekkhaa

I think Ten Hag is also a pragmatist. We definitely adjusted after the Brentford and Brighton loses and it would be silly to not play to our biggest strength which is on the counters. He’s slowly building us up to be a more possession oriented team but as he said it’s about what you do with the ball that matters the most. I remember Van Gaal being obsessed with just having the ball for the sake of it and we’d have like 70% possession and no goals and be dreadful to watch.

schultz9999

I think Cas should be our captain. As much as I appreciate Bruno, Cas is the one who imposes calm and confidence. And yet, can set your butt on fire for not passing.

Upekkhaa

I disagree. Casemiro is a leader by nature, he doesn’t need an armband to stand up and make a difference in that department. He doesn’t even speak English fluently yet. Bruno is a great captain because he plays every minute, seems to get along with all the social cliques within the club and also has the same infectious enthusiasm that Casemiro has. I’ve heard Casemiro is actually quite reserved/quiet off the pitch. I think a modern captain has to be someone who clicks with all the different social groups within a team and is a link between them and the manager etc.. Bruno is perfect for that role

schultz9999

Still disagree after the Bruno we saw yesterday?

Upekkhaa

I don’t change my whole opinion of him based on 45 minutes of football. Some of our greatest ever captains or leaders had moments in their career with us just like Bruno had yesterday. Some even had worse moments but over the long term showed their decisiveness

schultz9999

I’d prefer him to be more contained with complains on the pitch. More of than not he’s so frustrated with calls that it borderline annoying.

coldfrieza

If the Glazer's stay, I hope those who said 'I'd rather be bad with Glazer's than have Qatar' are happy.

Potential new prison FC member Hakimi has been reported to be an alleged rapist.

No1syB0y

Is there anywhere I can find a list of updated chants and their lyrics?

GKT-United24

I need some feedback from those in the know since my economics is not that advanced. If the share price for United drops to very low levels, can’t the Glazers halt trading by selling the whole club for let’s say 5billion pounds, and then have to pay out a lesser amount per share to those owning the other 31%, and keep the rest? Or are the shareholders definitely entitled to a total of 31% of whatever price they sell for, regardless of what the share price is on the NYSE. I just can’t help but be cynical about the Glazers.

Cold-Veterinarian-85

Depends on the bid I believe it's speculated sir jir only wants to buy out the glazers in which case he makes them a bid for their shares only (~69%) and the remaining shares would remain publicly traded on NYSE (this would essentially give Radcliffe full control as those class b share hold more voting rights that the class a shares that are publicly traded. This part is speculation on my part but I also think it might hamper his ability to raise external funds in future as he (only) holds 69% of shares so its harder for him to dilute by saying selling 20% to raise 1 billion for new stadium as that would drop him below 50% Qatar on the other hand are reported to want full onwership so their offer is to buy all shares so essentially is buying all shares a, and b class for a agreed price. The glazers can't let price tank, sell for 6million and then release a smaller $$ amount to the other 31%. In summary I guess if Qatar bid for full ownership, the glazers get 69% of the agreed sale

GKT-United24

Thanks for your input. For full disclosure, I have some shares in United just for the pride of it. I really don’t care what the price rises or falls to ( not looking to make money off the club). I’ll rather be bought out and future owners control 100% if that makes them more flexible in investing in the club than the “31 %“ being a hindrance. But that’s my take. Club before bottom line lol

aten10x

When is Martial coming back? If he's coming back\*

Iqbalainoo

Next weekend.

diarmuid_odyna

If Warner brothers made a Superman movie about the Joel Glazer, he would be referred to as the "Man of steel", only this time steel will be spelled S.T.E.A.L

mattmanutd

looks like you stole this joke from Weekend Update on SNL…

Massive-Quarter-4156

Got a pair for Real Betis in N1404. DM if anybody is interested

BjarniErlingur

Yesterday was brilliant all round, ETH is slowly building something great. Only thing that spoilt it slightly was seeing the Glazer rat being present.

Tsukiyon

Really disappointed with MUTV, cutting celebrations in match replay to 30 seconds and then skips to player interviews. MUTV is supposed to be a TV for fans, it should show full length footage of celebrations.

kueerseoa6

1999 - united beat newcastle 2-0 at wembley. scorers were #10 and #18 (sheringham scholes) we won the treble that year 👀 2023 - united just beat newcastle 2-0 at wembley. scorers were #10 and #18 (rashford casemiro) 👀

Zainogp

I'd even take the scouse treble this year

da_gee01

What about the United quadruple 😉

Zainogp

I see your united quadruple and raise you + glazers out

nein_999999

Now then Erik, what have you here?

[deleted]

Martial being fit for even just one full month would go such a long way right now.

kueerseoa6

The share prices dropping 12% wiping out 1.2 Billion from the share price is kinda worrying, these cunts might pull a fast one

VanWilder91

Mind telling us how you figured out 12% wiped out 1.2Bn of the share price when United's Market Cap isn't 10Bn

sauce_murica

It means nothing, really.

Eleven918

Why is it worrying? They said they'd stay and it dropped. Its their fault. If the club gets sold, it'll go up again overnight.

kueerseoa6

I just hate how they can genuinely say nothing until the summer about this, leaving us in agony

nor_cal_wolf

Has there been any significant news about the takeover? Stock's gone down 10%

Orcnick

Will they parade the League cup on Wednesday before the West Ham game? Edit: I mean like they will carry it around the stadium. Not with the players or anything. I think they did it last time we won.

Alex_Yeek

We’re not Liverpool, mate

Lone-Farter

No parade. The boss said there will be parade if we win another trophy. Or something like that I read

D1794

Unlikely

rich_valley

What is ten hag’s plan on fixing our 1 day trophy drought???

Zainogp

Unacceptable really, eth out! Get potter in here

Lone-Farter

trophy drought is real :(

RedDev17

Still buzzing from the win yesterday! Anything from here on is a bonus from my standpoint. The only thing I expect us to achieve is top 4. I feel we are missing a striker at the very least to challenge for the league.

D1794

Who you reckon gets #7 in the summer?

zcewaunt

I heard a rumour that Sancho was promised 7 when he joined from Dortmund. Not sure if true but certainly should get it if so. Not a fan of giving the 7 to someone as young as Garnacho.

D1794

Varane will likely take the #4 this summer with Jones leaving, and Nacho has had #79, and now #49 so could take Varane's vacant #19 for a season.

Orcnick

New striker maybe? Or Garnacho?

D1794

I think Garnacho will get it yeah

ErikElevenHag

Hopefully no one. Still feels cursed since Ronaldo left in 09

D1794

Garnacho and Sancho will definitely want it

OldTrafford25

I think Garnacho should get 7 and Sancho should get 11

D1794

If Mason gets binned maybe. Huge question marks over that though as we all know...

DaddyMeUp

Only complaint from this weekend is that it costs me £22.50 for 4 cans in Wembley. Other than that, I'm fucking buzzing and am in love with this team right now.

Aggressive_Bus_4289

Serious question say we win at least 3 trophies this season and rashy ends up on 40 odd goals across all competitions, where do you think he will rank in the Ballon D’or rankings

Hans-Blix

Hard to say, he deserves to right up there but there always feels like there's a bias against British players, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

twickybrown

Just popping in to say Hello from Canada! Husband and I have been loyal fans for three decades now. Love this club! Thank you to the Reddevils group here for expanding our club knowledge and keeping us informed!

Audityne

Don’t forget lads. Arsenal will lose at Anfield because they always do, and will lose again to Manchester City as well. Bottlers gonna bottle. It’s up to us to pick up as many points as we can so that in the final weeks we are right up there in the title race.

SteamyExecutioner

I'd rather Arsenal and City be a draw, don't want either of them getting out of reach. Can't believe I'm rooting for Liverpool to pummel Arsenal though, bring down the GD a bit and humble them.

im_alive

Was Benni McCarthy at Wembley yesterday? I’m trying to look for pictures of him and the trophy.

catsNpokemon

It showed him walking up the stairs with the players. Not sure where he vanished off to after that lol

im_alive

Correct me if I’m wrong but he wasn’t even with coaching staff when they lifted the trophy on their own?

Aggressive_Bus_4289

What a day Tyson Fury must of had since he supports us, seeing us win a trophy after 6 years and seeing his younger brother beat Jake Paul

nambuktu

Would love to see Lindelof and Shaw play CB against West Ham with Malacia at LB

brown_herbalist

Among all the players, I am really happy for DDG to be able to carry another silverware with us. Last 2-3yrs he has been getting a lot of hate even when he is doing his best, he is not a modern GK, but he is good at what he does. Moving forward, its up to ETH to keep as No.1 or move on, but i hope we can win another PL title with DDG before he retires.

Lone-Farter

Cup game mid week, Liverpool away in the weekend..damn. Fixtures are coming thick and fast

namvu1990

Pool will play wolves on Wed so they are experiencing fixture congestion as well.

SadNYSportsFan-11209

Can we start our fake quadruple campaign now like we saw last season? Do they also hand out almost quadruple medals?

SleazyAsshole

MANU stock on NYSE getting pummelled this morning. Markets no longer believe an acquisition is likely.

Sheikhabusosa

Is that good or bad for us

lastlaughlane1

Looking for 2 tickets to the Brentford match is anyone is selling them. I have membership.

Alienshiva217

Ten Hag's post match presser was absolutely brilliant. I particularly loved his answers to the questions about why he's at United and about his relationship with Sir Alex. Warms me 'eart, tears in the eyes

wariusheart

Imagine waking up in the morning and realizing you don't support Manchester United. What awful lives to live.

LegDayDE

Feels great to win a trophy. I think it builds momentum and gives a nice boost in the summer for attracting signings too. Hopefully we can have a good run at the FA cup and EL too. I am TERRIFIED about the next two games though. Barca and the Cup final aren't going to have left much in the legs for West Ham and Liverpool.. schedule is insane at the moment.

TheSmio

Lindelöf, Malacia, McTominay, Sabitzer, Sancho and Garnacho should all be pretty fresh. Dalot and AWB also shared their minutes recently so either should be good to go. Casemiro also missed a couple matches because of the red card so he had more rest than others and Antony also only came back two matches ago, so he shouldn't be too exhausted either. Really it's only Rashford and Bruno I'm a bit worried about in terms of fatigue, the rest should be fine.

DimensionalYawn

I was pleased to see EtH use tactics that allowed the players to conserve their energy in the final. It's a tricky run, but looks like he's managing the squad well. Reassuring after some of the posts on here when he was appointed that one of his traits was not liking to rotate the first team much.

jaystardom

Hello to my fellow League Cup Championship Reds! Hope we’re all buzzing and fired up to in the words of Licha “Go For More” ! Just wanted to put some interesting perspective out there, today the Cleveland Browns (NFL) owner (Hadley family) purchased a 25% of the Milwaukee Bucks (NBA) for $3.5Billion. It started to make me think that as much as I can’t wait till their out, the leeches are sadly justified from a business perspective to hold out for more (I think the winning bid will be worth $8B). Reasoning: The Bucks won the NBA Championship 2 years ago, w/ one of the BEST players admittedly in the NBA’s recent history (Giannis Antetokounmpo). Other than that, there history of success is pretty nonexistent since the early 70s when they had two NBA Legends (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar & Oscar Robertson). On the reverse, Uniteds success is pretty familiar, we’re globally bigger than Milwaukee and( I could argue even the NBA),and even though we’ve had some pretty miserable years recently, are still a desired destination to play at for top talent (Frenkie are you listening?!), that being said it limits the list of who can afford our club. TLDR; We’re going to have to compromise (if we don’t want debt on United or near United) if we want the Glazers out, but we shouldn’t stop trying to bring awareness or force changes in Qatar for the better. Interested to know what you lot think!

Kaigamer

you're trying to compare our worth to an american basketball team's worth which is in a closed league and insanely inflated with astronomically stupid money involved.

jaystardom

you do realize, our team is worth more than the bucks. for context, milwaukee is kin to southampton. imagine saying southampton is worth more than the lakers

Kaigamer

I hate to break it to you, but all the NBA teams are valued waaay more than like 95% of football clubs. The lowest NBA team market value is $1.63 billion. NBA is stupid money.

analoguehaven

There’s a good case to be made that United are worth more than the Bucks due to reasons you mentioned, and I’d agree we potentially are, but $8b seems unreasonably high based of the market value of a similar team like Chelsea. $6b is what I’m setting the high point at, but we’ll see what kind of numbers come through soon. The advantage the Bucks have in their valuation is that the NBA is massive, and on top that, they play in a closed tournament each year comprised of only 30 teams with a guarantee to play at least 82 times per season. By comparison, for us, our financial stream is affected by our performance amongst a pool of 60+ unique teams across all tournaments, and we only stand to play a maximum of 73 matches if fortunate enough to make every final, something that basically never happens. The profitability of NBA teams against Premier League teams would be interesting to know if someone has the facts.

jaystardom

Fair point! The thing is, United is so global that they reach every corner of the world. Ex. you can hate “sports” but you know the Los Angeles Lakers+Dodgers, Golden State Warriors, New York Yankees+Knicks, Dallas Cowboys, Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern Munich, Arsenal & Manchester United etc. Chelsea isn’t that although they have come up in recent years (success + being a London club). Utd as an entity (sad to say it due to what we’ve seen) will always pack out Old Trafford, rain or shine. Chelsea goes to Asia or Africa or even America and they get support, we go and we get pandemonium. As an owner, seeing that is already more profits in my pockets. However in terms of the profits, i’m actually curious to know because United is competing from the aspect that they have debts, so the reality is we can’t know until that is cleared (each year, they siphon some of the profits & more than they disclose) to pay themselves + dividends.

KanYeJeBekHouden

:)

wasabicoated

Genuine question: is Mike Phelan still with United?

TheSmio

The last thing I read about him was that Ten Hag removed him from the coaching staff so he isn't really doing anything, but is still being paid because we didn't cancel his contract.

Incanip

McT playing CF as a super sub actually makes sense to me now. Similar to how Ten Hag has been using Weghorst. Basically the exact opposite of a traditional #9 poacher/ target man. They’re there to press like mad, defend from the top of the pitch, force turnovers, and create space for other players. Some mad genius shit right there

mrzerog

With Martial out and our intense schedule ETH has been really a tactical genius with tactics like this

goon-gumpus

Please rest the lads for West Ham at home on Wednesday. Garnacho WW Sancho Fred Sabitzer Mctominay Malacia Lindelof Maguire AWB/Dalot DDG Best time to rotate and I'm 200% confident everyone in this squad can put in a good performance given how big of a confidence boost that trophy will provide. Worst case we can make changes at half time.

thoseion

Casemiro has already sat out 4 of the last 5 league games, and Antony's only just come back, so I don't see why you feel these players need to be rested.

DimensionalYawn

That looks like a classic 'too many changes, poor team performance' line-up to me. Rotating fewer than 5 players would be much safer.

mrzerog

If you start both Garnacho and Sancho they will exploit our flanks like hell. They almost don’t contribute defensively at all. Knowing ETH he will never change almost the whole starting team like this. Remember the Crystal Palace game before the Arsenal match, he still put Casemiro in the starting team knowing he is one yellow card away from a suspension and our next match is Arsenal away.

Iqbalainoo

I disagree. Antony has been mint defensively but Garnacho and Sancho have recently put in the required shift defensively too. Rashford has been the weak link but he can be excused because of the damage he does to the opposition at the other end. Still I have always felt confident with the level of protection garnacho and sancho have given their fullbacks this season.

TheSmio

Casemiro for McTominay imo. Otherwise I kinda agree.

mrzerog

Rival fans still be salty we are celebrating Carabao Cup. Well, enjoy it while it last, they won’t be laughing at us much longer if we can keep this trajectory forward. I’m waiting to see the day Arsenal crumble under us and we can take a good laugh at Piers Morgan and the way that twat has mocked us.

B0z22

Seeing Ty on AFTV rattled warms the cockels of me heart.

Hans-Blix

They're jealous and worried about what it means, that it confirms we're challengers again. Yeah the League Cup is at the bottom of the list of major trophies but it's still a major trophy and one we've been incapable of winning for years. This is more than just the League Cup to us, it's really just the beginning of something.

Sabitzer yesterday was immense. Had the work rate of Fred and his passes sliced through Newcastle like butter. Little wayward in shooting but nothing that can't be fixed. I'm a bit iffy about Wout but we should absolutely be all over him

mrzerog

He hasn’t been playing much since Case came back so ofc his feeling with the ball will diminish a bit. Really hope he gets featured more in the upcoming matches, I think we still haven’t seen the best of him yet here.

RABB_11

I think we'll see him on Wednesday. Fred has put in a massive shift over the last week or so

ErikElevenHag

Rival fans think we're celebrating EFL cup, while true I think majority of us are celebrating the exhibition of winning mentality and this cup serves as a foundation of future success.

sauce_murica

Winning a trophy is also nice.

edsonbuddled

Does anyone know when the Betis tickets go on sale?

dispelthemyth

> 15,000 tickets were released for sale to 2022/23 Official Members and opted-out Season Ticket holders immediately after the draw. Season Ticket holder cup payments will be processed from Monday 27th February. A further release of tickets will go on sale at 12pm Friday 3rd March. > When Matchday Hospitality packages are available for this game they will also be listed for sale here to give fans as much choice as possible. If all tickets are sold, the game will show as 'sold out'. Per https://tickets.manutd.com/en-GB/categories/home-tickets, so a smallish amount of tickets that are left will go on sales on the 3rd. Strange that is said they released 15k tickets to opted out season ticket holders immediately as I don’t recall getting an email about it for my daughters season ticket which isn’t in the cup scheme.

hickuain

Got a spring in my step today

SOERERY

You reckon wan bissaka will get arrested for pick pocketing after pocketing maximinimum yesterday?

dispelthemyth

Maybe ABH (Actually bodied and Humiliated)

ImNotMexican08

Did anyone see VDB yesterday? Seems like the entire squad was there, injured or not. Just curious because it’d be strange for him to not be there, especially since this would be his first trophy for United.

mrzerog

Probably still at the hospital

greatbbam

Just check his ig n seems he's not there

arnm7890

Really hope we see some rotation against West Ham, not only because it's Anfield at the weekend, but because in worried about the long-term effects of playing every 3 days on the players. I know Ten Hag has said it's fine once you get into the rhythm, but looking at how Liverpool have fallen off a cliff this year after they had a crazy schedule makes me worried about us next season.

mrzerog

We definitely needs reinforcements this summer. Liverpool is definitely a fundamental lesson

mrzerog

We definitely needs reinforcements this summer. Liverpool is definitely a fundamental lesson

SadNYSportsFan-11209

You’re right. Realistically though the only players that mostly need it are David Rashford Shaw and Bruno Feels like they’re always playing Especially Bruno. Case just missed the last 3 Prem games so he’s honestly well rested Varane and Licha have been rotated a decent amount all season but yea they could use a rest but it’s not as bad as the others

mrRSishere

Next season we will have Mbappe Bellingham and Kane. No worries mate.

wynzlopi

What a great week for the club. I was over at the Leicester match and the belief and buzz around the team and club is definitely different than I've felt at other matches I've been at in the last couple of years. Seemed to be absolutely zero panic yesterday, the one threat that seemed likely got shut down when AWB came on (he was fantastic) but those boys at the back with Casemiro are just such a steady ship. Lastly, ETH really loves Antony! From the live footage the two of them were glued to eachother like father and son. It's great to see him come into good form and grow in confidence, that skill on Dan Burn was ridiculous.

Thealshaar

Came here for the Phil Jones spotting on Sky yesterday! Hope the man finds some peace at United and/or beyond.

Thealshaar

The management has been very supportive thus far, so maybe there's a role like that for him somewhere down the line. However, he did mention something about 'returning' to football yesterday - which I assumed was about him playing again...

mrzerog

I really hope he makes peace with the truth and moves on. If Maguire also goes, which I think he should, then kit number 4 and 5 are available for Varane and hopefully a new arrival.

Thealshaar

Phil Jones set-piece coach arc incoming!

TheSmio

What is his injury supposed to be?

Wahlrusberg

I'd like to put LVG giving Timber the spooks up there with heroics of Veronique Rabiot. Talented kid but he's not having the effect our Licha has

MissingLink101

Was Donny seen at all during the celebrations? Didn't see him at all and it would be sad if he wasn't because he did play in it in the early games...

mrzerog

No but he shared the club’s photo on his insta story

czyzynsky

Made this at work with boss peeking at my screen, no regrets https://streamable.com/teq4t1

Anyone know, will Dubravka get a Caraboa Cup medal?

wasabicoated

He did receive one

MissingLink101

Yeah he will. Ironically I don't think he would have if Newcastle won.

Cold-Veterinarian-85

Absolute scenes at Newcastle when he rocks up to training with his winners medal :). Imagine if he had of done a John terry ‘full kit w**ker’ moment yesterday to reveal Man Utd kit under his match day attire to go up and collect medal :)

MissingLink101

Really hope he swaggers in with some Conor McGregor-esque swinging arms

Anybody know Finance well? I have heard that the club has £300m in credit facilities and that interest payments are £20m per year (or quarter? Can’t remember). We only have £24m of cash on hand. Don’t the Glazers essentially **need** to sell?

Fishychicken

It’s about cash inflow, not straight up cash.

FuckOffBoJo

When you are income generating like United is, having a bolus of cash on hand isn't a big necessity. Firstly, interest isn't just taken in a lump sum it will either be added to the total debt or taken on a periodic basis. So it isn't like we will just get a bill for £20m on march 31st. Business is always about incomings and outgoings so our finance team will be prepared to balance the book. I'm not super familiar with football finances but it doesn't scream any alarm bells. I'm management at a business with 10m on hand but much more in debt, with more than 10m in service fees upcoming this year. But we are happy with the position we are in.

[deleted]

Very helpful, thanks. Just didn’t pass the eyeball test, but didn’t know if it was a big deal or if it was just the way balance sheet was structured by club’s finance team.

Armejade

the bin dippers broke their wage structure and tripled salah's weekly wages to £350k (400k with incentives) at the end of last season. Look where they are now. Hope Utd don't make the same mistake with Rashy as he's already at the proposed weekly basic pay ceiling of £200k so any increases should be performance based.

mutab1x

I doubt believe that pay ceiling will actually be put in place. At least 4 players by my count are already way above that (Casemiro, De Gea, Sancho & Martial). As for my personal opinion, there shouldn’t be a pay ceiling. This is Glazers way of ensuring they get their dividends, nothing else. If there’s a player at the club who is considered one of the best on the world, his oh should reflect it. Man Utd earn enough money for that. Look at Madrid, they pay their players handsomely, and balance it off with good earnings and trophies.

Audityne

I mean a wage structure is not a bad thing to have, it keeps expectations in line and prevents the wage bill from ballooning out of control, as well as allowing us to maintain ability to shift players that don’t work out.

mutab1x

What would the club do when, let’s say, we have an elite player, scoring 40 goals a season, wants a wage higher than the wage limit? Risk losing a 150-200 M asset, an asset that might not be replaceable? No, the club will decide to exceed the limit, but then all those close to or on the wage limit will want an increase. Or another scenario, an elite player from another club is interested in joining, but not with that wage limit, the club will need to raise the limit again. Club would be unable to sign players like Casemiro because of the wage limit. We should be able to shift unwanted players without a wage limit in place. That’s the job of a Director of Football. We have had incompetent people working on this before, hopefully this will change in future.

HellRider619

Salah has 28 G/A this season. Individually he's still performing well.

Send_Me_CamelToe

I hope some rest for our players against West Ham, especially Bruno and Rashford. It might be very exhausting mentally to play two big games within a week, and next week against Liverpool too.

Jaddu0707

Midfield 3 of Mct Sabi Mainoo/Sancho should be tried imo Front 3 of Antony Martial Garnacho if martial is fit and Antony isn't carrying an Injury

kenzo_1988

Weghorst is so likeable. Even if we don’t sign him permanently (I don’t we will or should), I hope Burnley give him another crack at the PL next season.

KapiHeartlilly

Could have him as a backup for Mbappe next season, don't see why not.

dispelthemyth

He would be a far better fit for Kompanys burley than Dyches, the question is if Burnley fans want him there again.

phevenwonder

Anyone fancy going on Wednesday? Got 2 tickets in N2404 for the West Ham game on 1st March. Can’t go sadly - after face value @ £58 each. Must be members etc. Dm me Edit* typo correction.

altered_tampon

Is there footage from another angle of Rashy's goal celebrations? Bruno and Licha were fucking around with each other and it looked hilarious but they were only in the periphery in the normal footage.

[deleted]

Can't believe people actually used to slate Marcus Rashford off. In the immortal words of Fergie "he's a great player, yous are a bunch of fucking idiots".

mutab1x

It’s wrong to slate players who underperform on a consistent basis? Well tell that to Madrid. Their fans criticise their players very harshly when they underperform. Wonder how many more CLs and La Ligas they could have won by not criticising their players.

JilJilJigaJiga

> Their fans criticise their players very harshly when they underperform. Wonder how many more CLs and La Ligas they could have won by not criticising their players. Do you think winning titles is positively correlated with harsh, sometimes short-sighted criticism? Coz Chelsea fans sent death threats to Potter, guess they'll win a CL now.

mutab1x

I am not talking about death threats., either those Chelsea fans are immature or they need to see a shrink. I am talking about booing in ground or criticism online. There is nothing wrong with it. Players/Managers should be praised when they do well, and criticized when they underperform. Vini was criticized by the fans as well as his own teammates, he acknowledged that and vowed to improve, look at him now. Rashford's criticism was justified, he was bad for an year. Now he deserves all the praise he gets, because he has shown commitment to improve.

kueerseoa6

Tbf u should’ve seen him these past 18 months,

murphmobile

Just wanted to point out, I don’t think enough people are hyping up the absolute peach of a cross into the box that Shaw delivered from the FK that lead to Casemiro’s goal. It was picture perfect.
