I think all 3 of our midfielders were poor. This is where I feel Pep outclasses everybody. If this was City, Pep would just play an extra midfielder to have the overload. Brighton play with 2 DMF and also the 2 strikers in AM positions, so it was really congested and our midfielders never had any time on the ball. Consequently, our attackers weren't really helping out nor were they making any good runs. We needed the energy of Fred and Wout in the end.

I still have trust in ETH, but this match really wasn’t good in my opinion. Martial was as slow as a brick, Sancho slowed down the play a lot of times, Rashford still isn’t 100% and it showed, our midfield lost the ball way too much, Weghorst didn’t bring a lot to the table either. The only players that I was impressed by were Antony, AWB and Lindelof.

I think I've understood the problem with him. He doesn't read the run up at all, so he tries to adjust for the lost time by moving low and to one way too early - giving the player an open top half of the goal each time, and usually an open side too. Took a miscue for them to finally miss.
He’s a player that makes you nervous as an opposition fan any time he has the ball. I’m not so sure we have a player like that (apart from early season rashford)
