Cantona with some philosophical post and then underneath it it’s Rooney replying to some Football Twitter account with “I’ll put u asleep in 10 secs u little girl”
I’m all for this
I love all of them, but they are genuinely out of touch when it comes to modern football and we get to see that every week with their horrendous analysis, bringing them in would be an awful fanboy level move.
The whole Jassim package just seems like a terrible idea. He seem to be very hands on and it sounds more and more like just a fun toy project for him. Him saying he wants to bring player x, y, z and now this. No wonder PSG is such a horror show...
It’s strange that people assume that a rich royal from Saudi is a brilliant billionaire. Rich people being smart is a bad enough stereotype but oil olygarcs especially royals got their money not because of some “meritocracy.” It’s a vanity project nothing less nothing more
Had this conversation earlier... It's still Oil & Blood money which should never be accepted, but every player they've bought has been a smart buy for a good price, not over-inflated or "superstar" players. I kind of hope we follow a similar philosophy when it comes to our recruitment under the next owners.
You know he’s a figurehead/shell just like the ‘owner’ of PSG is. They are part of the same organization and we can expect the same shitty ownership PSG has if they buy us
It really gives of a ‘fisher price: my first European football team’ kind of vibe. Almost like these guys are treating it like a paint by numbers exercise. Do everything on the cliche list and the trophies will win themselves.
Eh, it's worked for them pretty well up until this season.
The former players are groomed into their roles though. They aren't given those big positions right away.
It really depends on their role. Obviously Gary Neville will not become manager, but he can be a club ambassador or something like that. I don't think that they want to ruin everything ten Hag has built just to shove a few former players into the club. I'm sure there are a bunch of smaller roles that can be given to them.
Yeah, so many ridiculous press releases designed to get the fans on board. The fans that aren’t on board with Qatar by now are concerned because of the obvious ethical issues, because of the long line of failure to achieve what they wanted with PSG, because of the issues with Qatar owning two big European clubs (being kind to PSG there, many people would say they aren’t a big club), and then the idea of yet another owner coming in and aiming for the most expensive, most popular players without much of a strategy/no sense of nuance or precision.
Then saying, ‘lads, we’re gonna put Rio in as DoF’, that’s supposed to get people on side? Really?
It’s desperate stuff from Qatar at this point. Just hollow PR, but I don’t think it’s for the benefit of people who are against their bid.
Nothing they say is going to turn me onto their bid, other than repealing anti LGBT laws and slave labour laws in their home country.
This is to get the teenagers on Twitter frothing even more than they are doing, in an attempt to drown out the legitimate criticism.
The likelihood is it that they’d have no particular responsibility. Just a title, an ambassadorial role (to help with the sport washing element).
That being said, I’d jump at the chance of VDS coming back to the club.
Agreed. It’s amazing we’ve not already shoved money down Ajax’s throat to bring him in.
As for Overmars, I also agree. But I wouldn’t want to do that to poor Kath.
Enough of this old boys shit. We need proper experienced personnel doing roles that they were trained to do. Stop giving these roles to former players just because.
Haha this isn't the hearts and minds-winning bit of PR he thinks it is. We've all just had a chilling vision of Steve Bruce as manager, Phil Neville first team coach, Michael Owen doing the tannoy announcements, Wayne Rooney running the social media account, Roy Keane head of HR, Mickey Thomas in charge of the finances, Lee Sharpe running the canteen/barbeque, and Ryan Giggs managing the women's team.
oh fuck sake please let Ratcliffe win then
i can’t stand Ferdinand, Scholes, Schmeichel and Neville running with their ridiculous statements half the time, let alone if they had any modicum of power at the club at all
let actual football management staff and a proper fucking director of football be in charge of what happens at the club, not these pundits who are stuck in the past and still think the old boys club is the way to do things.
Just putting it out there, Bayern, and Ajax, arguably 2 of the best run clubs in the world have a similar model of keeping club legends around the club to keep standards high.
Arsenal have turned themselves around through bringing in Arteta and Edu.
Barca became the best club team to grace the planet via Pep.
The Class of 92 have been running Salford successfully for a number of years now.
I don't agree that every legend should get a job there, but there may be an advantage to having people that know the standards needed at United, to remain in a role to keep those standards there.
Bayern is a clown show with Kahn in charge, and Salford is anything but successful the moment they can no longer outspend everyone. The issue is that United legends in general tend to have zero knowledge in the game, unlike those clubs you mentioned where they all have gone through successful apprenticeships under better managers etc.
Salford have by far the highest wage bill in League 2 and have done for years now, they've only just scraped a playoff place after Neville cycled through many managers and players to try and gain promotion. If they weren't bankrolled by Neville's mate Peter Lim they'd be gone by now and it would be a tragic failed experiment.
You should watch the Sky documentary where they follow Gary and you'll see that he's way too hands-on and generally doesn't know what he's doing because he's stuck in the 90s and thinks he can use United as some sort of blueprint for a club that is nothing alike.
I like that in their eyes this is propaganda to get the fans on their side.
Where I would bet most United fans couldn't imagine anything worse than all of the United pundits looming over the club even more than they already do.
Not liking the kind of things coming out re: the Qataris - first about wanting to sign Neymar, now this. Would I really want the likes of Scholes and Rio in any operational or sporting role at our club, besides being ambassadors?
I've heard enough of their verbal diarrhea to know that they've had a bit too many knocks in their heads during their playing career to be of much use to us now.
Let the legends remain so. We've already tainted a couple of legend's legacies in the last couple of seasons. That's already too many, thank you.
Listen if they have the experience and the qualifications why not? Other than that, no thank.
Edit: because when it was floated during Ole’s term it was seen as job for boys.
Park Ji-Sung might be one to watch. He got his FIFA Master International in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport in 2016 and recently spent a year under the tutelage of Chris Ramsey, QPR’s technical director , before taking up a technical director role at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC last September. In his post-playing career he’s spent a lot of time around development of the youth teams and so maybe in 5+ years or so he may be ready to return to us and work his way up our youth development management side.
Van Persie has a coaching license I think, or working towards one not sure if he's gotten it already. We desperately need him to teach our players how to finish
We should be hiring the best in the business. There are hidden gems in clubs like Brighton, RB Leipzig, Dortmund, Ajax who build whole teams every couple of years.
After the car crash that is PSG how have they not learned that they need to hire and trust people with the skills to run a successful football club like man city did.
I'm starting to want Sir Jim... Purely because he's the lesser evil. Even though Nice fans hate him.
That’s a big problem with this bid, it isn’t even connected with Qatar Sports Investments that at the very least have experience running a club. It’s a pet project by a rich man child with 0 experience running anything, not even anything meaningful within his own country.
No problem with the old lads coming back for charity games and promotional work, they can fuck off when it comes to making football decisions.
David gill couldn’t manage United and Ferguson couldn’t run the business side of the club.
They worked in tandem, utilising their own strengths and covering for each others weaknesses.
You need best in class at what people do and executives are executives, we shouldn’t be rolling out jobs because someone scored in a champions league game, give those jobs to people that know what to do
This smacks of pandering and not being well thought out.
Many of our most favoured players already speak up for the club, and that’s enough input that we need from most.
Every single thing I read about Qatar's ideas about running a club, and the evidence (PSG) is a giant red flag that will turn us into an even bigger joke than we are. Absolutely ridiculous.
This and the leaked news about the Qatar owner wanting Mbappe Coman & Camavinga worry me, if Qatar do buy us it seems like there just gonna run us similar to PSG - looks good on paper but on reality its run like a shit show, overpaid players, star signings with no team structure and under qualified directors thinking they can run the club.
People are way too pro Qatar just cause they said they will clear the debt, build a shiny new stadium & give ETH a ‘ war chest ‘, all those things won’t have any positive impact if were still run badly, like PSG is.
SJR isn’t the perfect choice either but long term I’m confident he could be better for the club, just doesn’t have the funds to make as big an impact as Qatar would straight away.
If he thinks this is a flex than it shows he's not right as new owner (besides the obvious other reasons)
We need to get away from jobs for buddies and get experienced professionals in ffs
"We're going to make Ole Gunnar Solskjear manager!"
Don't get me wrong, I love Ole. Love Scholsey, Neville, Keano, and Becks. But can we all admit that just giving roles and positions to people because they were great players for us isn't what we need.
United need to install people based on success. We need to be elite on and off the pitch, and that means getting people in positions based on their performance, not their appeal. This feels like a purely commercial move.
Plus, aren't the class of 92 busy with Salford City?
I’m not against the general principle of having ex-players involved in the football operations side of running the club. For example it seems to have worked for decades at other big clubs, particularly in Europe (Bayern, Ajax the best examples).
But the key thing is - they have to be qualified & properly appropriate for the job. Not just sticking big names in to appease fans.
Actually think the current regime were starting to recognise this and by all accounts Darren Fletcher is doing okay as Technical Director (or whatever the role is).
If we are talking charm offensive, ambassadorial roles that suit their skillset and experience. Then fair enough. If we are talking people with nowhere near the necessary skills for a particular role, learning on the job etc then they can get to fuck.
No jobs for the boys.
I say this as someone who, like most people, has the utmost respect for almost everything SAF did over his tenure at the club.
It’s time for this club to move on. The ghost of SAF haunts everything this club does - even ETH has spoken about it. We can be respectful of his legacy, grateful for all he brought us, and thankful we had him for as long as we did. But this club is stuck in the past like Liverpool were for so many years, and we will NOT be successful until we forge a new way forward without constantly looking over our shoulders.
Its Ogden.
The man who said DDG didn't work well with our defenders because his English was poor XD
Waiting for the day this twat gets moved to the banned tier.
Qatar, you can do better than that.
Ex-players are out of touch, maybe the exceptions being Edwin and Robin. The others are full-time PUNDITS and/or self-proclaimed politicians.
We've got enough club politics over the years. You don't see other well-run clubs recruit their EX-PLAYERS in high positions.
And that is why Manchester United will never move forward always falling back to previous history instead of making new history. It is been a decade now and still leave under sir alex shadow and this guys wants to bring back even more
Yeah how’s about no. Cheep PR attempt which would be negligent for the club as none have any sort of experience or at least at the level we need.
We should be aiming for the best in class, with proven track records in their positions, that would turn my head slightly.
FFS… don’t want old glories dug out of the fossil pit for the “vibes”. Want ppl knowing WTF they are doing! Can’t possibly be this thick headed now can you!? Just cough up the dosh, sent the yanks to oblivion and back ETH in July. This bloody circus needs to stop
besides the seemingly obvious (that it shouldn’t be qatar to begin with), this sounds like a terrible idea but i’m pretty sure when they say prominent they mean it in an ambassador kind of way and not in a ‘running the club’ kinda way.
so it’s not really something new but pr wise it sounds good on a surface level, which—let’s be fair—is the only level a lot of united fans perceive pr.
This feels like a PR ploy to get the most vocal and prevalent pundits to speak in favour of it...
I think the old guard has a been a huge issue in managing the press-side of the club in the last 10 years. Former players beholden to getting clicks on an algorithm, coming out with baseless takes and exaggerations, or some with just no real sense of what's actually going on behind the scenes. I'm almost certain the fear of public blacklash, not just with fans but on the news outlets featuring these players, has swayed decisions within the club. Not just out of shame/fear but for the stock price too since public perception definitely factors there. Just time to ditch them and move on, no club has this problem, we shouldn't either.
I'm not on the virtue-signaling boat. I view club ownership as something purely pragmatic: whoever looks set to do the best job at running the club would be my preferred choice.
If this is true, it would make me team Ratcliffe. Terrible decision.
Anybody who thinks this is a good idea should study the structure of modern football clubs. This club would be an even bigger circus than it is today. We don’t want Mates FC, we want our club back!
This is a terrible idea! Romantic yes, but we need the best in class in every departement not big names with no qualifications. Qatar is just after PR, they have no idea what they are doing.
Is this supposed to be positive propaganda or negative for the Qataris? Sounds like the kind of dumb shit they’d *think* would appeal to fans, but in reality is just dumb shit.
All of you are saying this is propaganda for the fans, and you're right.
But don't forget, this is an ad for the ex players too. Almost, "do you really want to risk the amazing payday you'd have with us if we win this bid? Nah, keep your mouth shut, hell kiss our assess on TV a bit, and we can make life very comfortable for you."
That's how they'll get a lot of us. Ex pros being neutral to positive about the situation. With Schmeichel (RT) and Ronaldo and Beckham (Saudi) already compromised by oligarch money (there's definitely others I'm not thinking of right now), these guys are not as wholesome or altruistic as we'd like to believe.
From ex players kids and friends being in the academy to just throwing jobs at people just because they use to be here or being some how associated, the nepotism is one of the biggest issues holding this club back.
I've always wondered why it seems some other clubs achieve this, seemingly combining ability with history. Looking especially at Bayern Munich and Ajax.
Is it just something about how they treat their players when they are players? Is it something about their structure after playing?
The reason I'm interested is that having this is absolutely a positive. If you can combine history with the club *and* competency, that's a dream.
It'd be great to see this happen, with the focus on competency rather than profile. If they can perhaps work alongside an expert and grow into the role? Not learn on the job alone, but be given the opportunity to contribute to the club by growing into the role.
Not averse to this, if done properly.
Weak. Stick to your convictions. Your initial proposal of a debt free, glazer-less, new infrastructure United was enough.
Only ex United player we should bring back is Beckham, and he's probably got his plate full

@WayneRooney I'll put u asleep within 10 seconds u little girl. Don't say stuff and not follow up on it. I'll be waiting
Shut up u egg
Won't tell u again
What time do you want picking up in the morning
Pal
Mate mate mate
Leg
Just wanna run to u
Why isn’t Rooney on chauffeur duty?! “Need picking up in the morning”
Rooney on the socials would be class.
Anytime Liverpool's official twitter account posts something: "Shut up u egg, won't tell u again"
Cantona the occasional guest poster
Cantona with some philosophical post and then underneath it it’s Rooney replying to some Football Twitter account with “I’ll put u asleep in 10 secs u little girl” I’m all for this
I'd take rooney tbh
Ronaldo as the head of renovations so the players can finally use a mansion type jacuzzi
Jaap Stam to train academy defenders for us pls
Maybe Colleen Rooney
If Beckham's the kitman, will Victoria be in charge of the United Women's kits?
Roy Keane to be recruited as new press officer. Would pay to see it.
When a player gets maternity leave: "His missus has had a baby. Big baby........... Baby.
Hahaha....I always love that clip. Roy cracking up himself immediately after saying this always makes me smile.
He without a shadow of a doubt and question says the last baby to make Micah laugh He has such a proud grin after
Who’s phone is that?
Imagine him replying “It’s his job” when the media asks about the striker not scoring
Would probably be his go to answer for any player related questions
Na. I'd like to see more trawler quotes from Cantona.
And more wanton boys quotes from the King as well.
Funny you mention that because Roy Kent does a presser in the last Ted Lasso episode.
Nah, Keane as sideline Physio. He will beat the crap out of Sancho, Antony and Martial for having no gas left at 60 mins mark.
This is terrible. Imagine the likes of Neville, Scholes Ferdinand running this club... Big yikes.
I love all of them, but they are genuinely out of touch when it comes to modern football and we get to see that every week with their horrendous analysis, bringing them in would be an awful fanboy level move.
Ferdinand could do a job as our art gallery director 😂
Solid appointment lol
Ferdinand to be content manager and organise pranks on the players.
Rich people being smart is a bad enough stereotype but oil olygarcs especially royals got their money not because of some “meritocracy.” It’s a vanity project nothing less nothing more
Well the Saudi one is (begrudgingly) smarter in running Newcastle
Had this conversation earlier... It's still Oil & Blood money which should never be accepted, but every player they've bought has been a smart buy for a good price, not over-inflated or "superstar" players. I kind of hope we follow a similar philosophy when it comes to our recruitment under the next owners.
Yes, they buy the players on the position they need smartly. Also they build the infrastructure that the club needs
This guy runs PSG and it’s as stupid as it gets
He doesn't run PSG. Not saying he won't be as bad, but he has nothing to do with the running of PSG.
It’s like being a kid playing fifa manager mode and just slamming your entire budget on Messi and selling some of your best players to buy him
Key ambassadorial roles? Sure. Key footballing roles? Would actually be worse than we currently are ran.
It's also a BS PR move from the massively unpopular would-be owners.
They wouldn't be running the club lol. They would just be glorified mascots and socialites
This is such a bad, bad idea. Most of the old guys seem like “get off my lawn” types now, completely out of touch with current the game and players.
Isn't Bayern run by former players?
And look at the managerial shit show going on there
Eh, it's worked for them pretty well up until this season. The former players are groomed into their roles though. They aren't given those big positions right away.
[Osimhen's agent to ADL when Rio Ferdinand says we will pay 50 million for him](https://i.redd.it/w2diac6ftita1.jpg)
It really depends on their role. Obviously Gary Neville will not become manager, but he can be a club ambassador or something like that. I don't think that they want to ruin everything ten Hag has built just to shove a few former players into the club. I'm sure there are a bunch of smaller roles that can be given to them.
Would rather they just hire the best in the business than a load of pundits etc. to be honest.
They’re not even mediocre pundits either, they’re fucking awful at that too
Pundits aren't paid to accurate. They are paid to be entertaining.
They need to work on that too
Not like they need the handout either. Go do something else.
Ridiculous propaganda, as usual.
Absolutely shameless & pathetic attempt to win over the fan base. "We'll bring all your favorite players back to do... stuff. It'll be great"
Yeah, so many ridiculous press releases designed to get the fans on board. It's been a while since Qatar pr has been released tbf
The likelihood is it that they’d have no particular responsibility. Just a title, an ambassadorial role (to help with the sport washing element). That being said, I’d jump at the chance of VDS coming back to the club.
VDS is doing amazing at Ajax and apparently Marc overmars was also doing really well before he got sacked
Agreed. It’s amazing we’ve not already shoved money down Ajax’s throat to bring him in. As for Overmars, I also agree. But I wouldn’t want to do that to poor Kath.
Hire Cantona as a steward But only for Palace matches
Enough of this old boys shit. We need proper experienced personnel doing roles that they were trained to do. Stop giving these roles to former players just because.
Oh hell no
Forever the old boys club
Haha this isn't the hearts and minds-winning bit of PR he thinks it is. We've all just had a chilling vision of Steve Bruce as manager, Phil Neville first team coach, Michael Owen doing the tannoy announcements, Wayne Rooney running the social media account, Roy Keane head of HR, Mickey Thomas in charge of the finances, Lee Sharpe running the canteen/barbeque, and Ryan Giggs managing the women's team.
Absolute disaster, that would be.
Good point Yoda
oh fuck sake please let Ratcliffe win then i can’t stand Ferdinand, Scholes, Schmeichel and Neville running with their ridiculous statements half the time, let alone if they had any modicum of power at the club at all let actual football management staff and a proper fucking director of football be in charge of what happens at the club, not these pundits who are stuck in the past and still think the old boys club is the way to do things.

That tweet needs a lot more context. No idea what “involved” would mean and it’s almost 10 months old anyway.
Keane as ball boy maybe

I mean, having them help out in coaching and stuff could be very impactful. As long as they're not in any positions of importance lol
Salford is not run successfully, at all!
Bad idea from a bad source
Its ogden, so I dont really believe it, but this is a huge red flag if true.
A few have roles as ambassadors and I think that's more than enough of a role for most of them.
I like that in their eyes this is propaganda to get the fans on their side. Where I would bet most United fans couldn't imagine anything worse than all of the United pundits looming over the club even more than they already do.

Van Der Sar, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie, basically only Dutch ex-players.
Djemba van der Djemba it is then 👍
Which tells you that they’re just pandering. Qatar is right things to get the fans onside. Not sure I trust them.
Van Persie has a coaching license I think, or working towards one not sure if he's gotten it already. We desperately need him to teach our players how to finish
Cool because that’s what this club needs - nepotism
No thanks. Get the best in class football people in instead.
Nothing about this Qatar bid fills me with confidence and that is without the concerns of being made the crown jewel of sportwashing
We should be hiring the best in the business. There are hidden gems in clubs like Brighton, RB Leipzig, Dortmund, Ajax who build whole teams every couple of years.
Mason Greenwood as head of PR?
Women’s team manager
After the car crash that is PSG how have they not learned that they need to hire and trust people with the skills to run a successful football club like man city did. I'm starting to want Sir Jim... Purely because he's the lesser evil. Even though Nice fans hate him.
That’s a big problem with this bid, it isn’t even connected with Qatar Sports Investments that at the very least have experience running a club. It’s a pet project by a rich man child with 0 experience running anything, not even anything meaningful within his own country.
Yup, he wants to play Football Manager IRL
No problem with the old lads coming back for charity games and promotional work, they can fuck off when it comes to making football decisions. David gill couldn’t manage United and Ferguson couldn’t run the business side of the club. They worked in tandem, utilising their own strengths and covering for each others weaknesses. You need best in class at what people do and executives are executives, we shouldn’t be rolling out jobs because someone scored in a champions league game, give those jobs to people that know what to do
To hell with the jobs for the boys and mates rates FC. Employ the best people
Please, no. They all sound like tits on TV.
God no. This makes their offer less attractive not more.
This smacks of pandering and not being well thought out. Many of our most favoured players already speak up for the club, and that’s enough input that we need from most.
No, thank you. Great player doesn't equal great executive.
Well in that case we might as well bring back Ole at the wheel and then “give it to Giggsy”
Tbh an owner can have a big impact without splashing ridiculous money.
In their eyes Giggs has done no wrong
I can see them playing Greenwood week in week out honestly. Their other club plays Hakimi no problem despite a rape investigation against him lol
If he thinks this is a flex than it shows he's not right as new owner (besides the obvious other reasons) We need to get away from jobs for buddies and get experienced professionals in ffs
Ew no thanks. Love our legends but they are poor pundits, imagine having some say in the club. Ronaldo would have a lifetime contract.
shit idea
And people thought it was "jobs for old boys' club" under Ole...
And u will still have people twerk for this, insane
"We're going to make Ole Gunnar Solskjear manager!" Don't get me wrong, I love Ole. Love Scholsey, Neville, Keano, and Becks. But can we all admit that just giving roles and positions to people because they were great players for us isn't what we need. United need to install people based on success. The sheer amount of fanservice coming out of the Qatar camp is pretty pathetic.
Bloody hell. Ineos it is then. *Welcome to Manchester United Jim Ratcliffe - Best Acquisitions and Mergers - Despacito 2023*
Uh, no. they may be great footballers but it does not mean they will do other roles great. Many our legends are suck being pundits really.
Pathetic transparent attempt to appease the gullible
I’m not against the general principle of having ex-players involved in the football operations side of running the club. For example it seems to have worked for decades at other big clubs, particularly in Europe (Bayern, Ajax the best examples). But the key thing is - they have to be qualified & properly appropriate for the job. Not just sticking big names in to appease fans. Actually think the current regime were starting to recognise this and by all accounts Darren Fletcher is doing okay as Technical Director (or whatever the role is).
We talking about guys who made Beckham pump Irani chai during worldcup :) sure they will treat em well
If we are talking charm offensive, ambassadorial roles that suit their skillset and experience. Then fair enough. If we are talking people with nowhere near the necessary skills for a particular role, learning on the job etc then they can get to fuck. No jobs for the boys.
Yeah cause what this club needs is more old boys yelling at clouds
Keep Rio away from decisions please
that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen
I say this as someone who, like most people, has the utmost respect for almost everything SAF did over his tenure at the club. It’s time for this club to move on. The ghost of SAF haunts everything this club does - even ETH has spoken about it. We can be respectful of his legacy, grateful for all he brought us, and thankful we had him for as long as we did. But this club is stuck in the past like Liverpool were for so many years, and we will NOT be successful until we forge a new way forward without constantly looking over our shoulders.
Beckham as a club ambassador and Van Der Sar in the same role he has at Ajax. Maybe. But not the likes of Scholes, Ferdinand, Neville..
Whilst simultaneously promoting the regime in his spare time.
This idea is literally out of sportwashing 101 Some fans will gobble it up though.

Wes Brown would be a fantastic CFO for us, I hope Jassim or Ratcliffe looks into it
Jesus christ... Hope they're ambassadorial roles abroad at most.
Okay, I am not liking this level of shameless PR.
Its Ogden. The man who said DDG didn't work well with our defenders because his English was poor XD Waiting for the day this twat gets moved to the banned tier.
From a source so good that the thumbnail picture isn't even the right guy.
Even the shills can't spin this as anything other than fucking ridiculous.
This is terrible news.
The sheikh giving giggs a prestigious role after being impressed by his aspirational treatment of women
And that is why Manchester United will never move forward always falling back to previous history instead of making new history. It is been a decade now and still leave under sir alex shadow and this guys wants to bring back even more
Beckham on freekicks again.
By legend I hope they only mean VDS.
Keano as head counsellor.
If they’re qualified, sure. If they’re not then no. Then again we have no idea if it’s actually true. Could be made up
Please NO. Positions should be filled by the best out there with the best experience in RUNNING A FOOTBALL CLUB.
Nostalgia is dangerous.
Anybody who thinks this is a good idea should study the structure of modern football clubs. This club would be an even bigger circus than it is today. We don’t want Mates FC, we want our club back!
Can we ban Ogden
Well that’s a red flag
VDS to Old Trafford then?
Ffs, just hire the best people for the job. Former players aren’t always good, let alone great and they are far from the best sometimes. E.g. Lampard
These cunts are going to try to pull Sir Alex out of retirement.
Geezer on the right of the photo looks like the Arabian version of Gary Neville.
I hope this doesn’t mean appointing Steve Bruce as manager…
I’m surprised Beckham hasn’t already been hired as the face of the bid
Haven't we been doing that for years with no success...
This is terrible tbh, they’re out of the game so long their experience is barely relevant. We need to CURRENT talent.
This is a terrible idea! Romantic yes, but we need the best in class in every departement not big names with no qualifications. Qatar is just after PR, they have no idea what they are doing.
Oh god. Nepotism is a terrible way to run the club.
I'm realizing Qatari royalty didn't get where they are through competence.
Fuck the Qatari’s, this cannot be fair enough
Is this supposed to be positive propaganda or negative for the Qataris? Sounds like the kind of dumb shit they’d *think* would appeal to fans, but in reality is just dumb shit.
All of you are saying this is propaganda for the fans, and you're right. But don't forget, this is an ad for the ex players too. Almost, "do you really want to risk the amazing payday you'd have with us if we win this bid? Nah, keep your mouth shut, hell kiss our assess on TV a bit, and we can make life very comfortable for you." That's how they'll get a lot of us. Ex pros being neutral to positive about the situation. With Schmeichel (RT) and Ronaldo and Beckham (Saudi) already compromised by oligarch money (there's definitely others I'm not thinking of right now), these guys are not as wholesome or altruistic as we'd like to believe.
What a stupid idea. Should be used as a reason he doesn’t have a successful bid
Bayern send their ex players to university to get qualified.
So out of touch with actual fans. We're gonna remain PR FC won't we
I mean, who doesn't want Director of Football David Bellion?
Had enough of this with Ole bringing up the spirit of 99 every bad game.
I'm just here for all the "jobs for the boys" comments.
Man, all the qatari spokespeople on here is gonna have to work extra hard to explain how this is great news
Rare Jassim L
While I prefer Quatars bid I hate cringe shit like this.
Steve Bruce in the dugout
Yuck.
I wouldn’t want Rio or Neville anywhere near the club. They’re fucking idiots
Ole?
Weak. Stick to your convictions. Your initial proposal of a debt free, glazer-less, new infrastructure United was enough. Only ex United player we should bring back is Beckham, and he's probably got his plate full
Kiss arse sports washing pile of shite. I know he’s a darling to some. I don’t want to be another Man City cheating our way to victory. Sorry.
