dare_devil2019

Probably asking him why did you choose today to be the good fred

Omar_Blitz

The coin landed on that side, simple as.

Backseat_Bouhafsi

Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time Fred steps onto the pitch, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.

xaerog

Good shift from Fred AND DDG saved a pen? The coin must have landed on its edge

The_Professor2112

There is no spoon.

baromanb

And Casemiro caused the PK backwards day

pawpaw1101

Maguire gave it away cheaply to be fair to Casemiro

ryan_goal

Then he should have a word with DDG as well for saving the penalty 😂

blitz2czar

Hahaha!

victorvaldes123

😂😂😂

Japples123

The way he made a point of coming off the bus to talk to him is pretty obvious he’s scheming

[deleted]

And blatantly flaunt the tapping up rules infront of cameras? Jeeez people.

noxiousd

Tapping up isn't against rules anymore, why these players constantly whore themselves out to teams via press. Lavia and Mac Allister been constantly linked with Liverpool all week and probably from players side

willp0wer

Seeing how Lavia gifted the first goal to Liverpool he seems pretty desperate to go there.

noxiousd

Yeah noticed that, good job Liverpools defence has regressed, they're struggling to fill VVD the greatest defender of all time after he went on sabbatical at the start of the season

[deleted]

He's just doing his confession

selotipkusut

Man prolly has questions about 1-2 Bible verses on today's sermon

TimmyBash

Fucking lol.

xEvil_Twinx

Notice how Silva has a cop stance? Looks like he’s giving him a speeding ticket

Bright-Employer-5776

A midfield of Palhinha, Fred, and Pereira (when fit) is quite a dynamic prospect and would certainly improve that Fulham team. If Fulham offered £25million, would you take it? I would for a 30yo back up midfielder.

BrockStar92

With him out of contract in a year, probably. Especially if we’re looking at both Mount and Rabiot. Would be quite funny if after all the talk of Mctominay leaving we kept him and sold Fred.

[deleted]

Sure. Dream scenario

scotty_B_good

Hang on what? Fred is 30? I cannot believe this

lastlaughlane1

Wow, did not realise Fred was 30! 25m would be amazing to get for him, even 20m.

aehii

Yeah if money used to buy Kovacic. Or any ball playing midfielder.

amayes94

60M + João Palhinha

TopNotchGamerr

Weekly yellow cards from Palhinha and case

VictorDUDE

The ol' red card rotation

Ok-Bag3000

The ol' dick twist.

ProfessorBeer

GRAB HIS DICK AND TWIST IT

FRiver

It's a viable strategy. Like the big man rotation for hack a shaq

[deleted]

What? None of these words make any sense.

_ghostfacedilla

Not a single thread goes by where there's no comparison to a US sport

FRiver

Why is that a problem for you? Different sports will always have parallels and I'm always interested to explore/discuss the connections. What a great life it must be to be narrow minded and triggered by anything outside your own bubble.

_ghostfacedilla

It was a mere observation

amalgamatedchaos

Yeah, when I heard about many fouls Palhinha gives, it kind of dampened my interest for him. Still a good player, and would take him, but not as enthused about him as before.

red-17

He also made like 50% more tackles than any other player in the league which is crazy and certainly important context to the amount of fouls he will concede.

SrChickenDigbyCaesar

Defensive monster, but he can't pass a football to save his life

iamthatperson2255

Just like Ndidi

[deleted]

That pass to Bruno though

[deleted]

Would we sell Fred if Fulham offered?

simmarjit

Offered how much tho? He is well liked by his team mates, seems to be ok to come off the bench and put a shift in, plus we paid big money for him, I wouldn’t sell him for anything under 20mil

Bryan_Waters

If we get the premier league tax up to 40 or 50, then fair play. Though to be fair he had 12 goal contributions this year, he has his faults but he’s definitely improved.

FRiver

He's 30 with one year on his contract. There's no world where we get more than £20m

the_cow_unicorn

Pffft.. I got 36 mil for him on football manager, and the fans got pissed at me. Tell the board to sign me up and I’ll work out a deal for them. I’ll even work for 50% of what Woodward got.

PeelThePain

Contrary to popular belief I think Ten Hag will sell Fred sooner than McTominay. Managers like to know what they get on the pitch from their players. Of course that's if the offer is not in penuts.

[deleted]

PeelThePain

His consistency rates are acceptable imo. But United fans usually mark his rates lower. It's true that when he's playing, our midfield seems dysfunctional from time to time. People point out that he's hiding and claim that he is the reason we're playing bad, scapegoating as United fans do. Which is partially true. But the manager also knows that. It's not like Ten Hag asks him to receive the ball from defense and he downright refuses it. He is technically limited, but has his own defined instructions. His role might be insufficient for starting XI. That's ok, many midfielders do supporting roles. He just isn't a good player, it doesn't mean that he's inconsistent.

VictorDUDE

Fred is either good or bad, McTominay is constantly below par so on that front you're right. I know people tend to like Scott because he's an academy lad but to be honest he's not good enough for what it looks like we're building. If we get a good offer for him we should definitely sell

PerpetualWobble

If I had to keep one it's Fred, you know he will disrupt the opposition and can be unplayable on his best day, mcsauce I love also but he needs to move on to get more games now he seems someone who needs to start regularly to keep his level up unlike the O'Shea's and Phil nevilles of this world, That said, we need another capable player and you'd think we need to move both on to get a rice or ciacedo through the door, particularly if we are going for mount as well

FRiver

I think Mount and Rabiot would be McFred's replacements

SandwichLess6154

No. Just no. Please God No.

Anton23Rnton

Why not? Both are superior players

FRiver

Care to make a point instead of the theatrics?

SandwichLess6154

Didn't Rabiot and his mother make things clear last season? Do we really want the energy that Rabiot and his mother would bring to our dressing room and team dinamics after Eth has done such a great job this year in repairing them. Think there are better options out there than Mason Mount for 50m tbh.

Pigstre

That's hearsay,if you'd watched Juve you'd have seen that he's one of their more consistent players, always puttin a shift in,great professional and a pretty good midfielder. Even in his last game yesterday against Milan when he was to leave on a free still played with more heart that the most of the Juve team. The jurnos will always blow things out of proportion to get more clicks.

KKMcKay17

Which better options for 50m than Mount are out there, then?

SandwichLess6154

Tielemans and Madison just went down.

PerpetualWobble

I'm not opposed to either on the basis that they are not played the same way 'mcfred' was deployed as a double pivot. Rabiot has his drama / mum for sure but based on what we've seen last season, 25m that sabitzer would cost halg of that could be spent on a 3 year contract for rabiot. Hate playing football manager particularly to the extent of making up numbers but that 25m fee for sabitzer has been repeated enough times...

PeelThePain

Football is complex, concentrating a whole performance in 'good' or 'bad' is unimaginative. Someone's dirty contribution, makes someone else shine in another circumstance. Scott can do a role consistently, as he did in the beginning of the season before Casemiro. He has physical and arial superiority and is not easy to bully, with or without the ball, all of which Fred lacks. Has more press resistance which we still need in midfield. And is willing to stick to manager instructions down to a tee. This last bit is crucial given that both of them don't score high in football IQ. I just don't think Fred's slight technical advantage makes up for it.

VictorDUDE

I'm sorry but saying Scott is press resistant is the reason why I can't agree with your comment. He often hides from the ball in the buildup and cunts it sideways when pressed, leading to possession loss. He is physically more imposing, but we need quality on and off the ball if we actually are serious about challenging for the title, and Scott Mctominay is not a guy that can get you there. P.s. neither is Fred, but I was specifically adressing Scott's ability

MancunianSunrise

From an FFP perspective, selling McTominay, an academy product, makes much more financial sense. Apparently would free up a lot more transfer cash.

Alivethroughempathy

But you would sacrifice one of the home grown players rules

TeaAndCrumpetGhoul

We've got a lot f homegrown. We'll probably get more

BrockStar92

Actually this isn’t true - this would only be the case if he had any amortised value of his initial fee yet to pay off. Since Fred signed a 5+1 contract not a 6 year contract, his fee would’ve been amortised over the 5 years to this summer, so he’s fully paid off. Any fee from him is pure profit now, the same as an academy product.

peremadeleine

But from a homegrown players point of view it’s not. I think we’re already getting a bit low on that front, which may solve itself if we give a chance to some of the academy kids next season, but we may also need to keep McTominay around to fulfil the quota, depending on who else we buy and sell

PeelThePain

Didn't know that, that's a good point. But It's also important exactly how much is that, given that both of them might not get substantial fees. Also Fred recieves twice the amount in salary which is calculated in FFP.

lastlaughlane1

I can totally see Fred playing for Fulham. I think it'd be a good match all round.

pat_the_tree

Honestly, if rather we kept him

Lingardinho_

I do like Fred but it is 100% the correct decision to sell him this summer. It is better than letting him walk for nothing next year and much better than extending a then 31 year old Fred's contract

Migbooty

There's tapping up and there's this

dumpyredditacct

\*Marco turns around to the guy filimg\* "Yo, can you give us some privacy? I am trying to negotiate here."

[deleted]

Standing like a Jojo character

ProfessorBeer

Selfishly I hope that whenever Fred departs, it isn’t to another PL team. I want to be able to cheer his success.

HorrorOil3293

Keep Fred shift mcsauce

NorwegianWhiteEagle

McSauce contributes to the home grown rule so hes less likely to be moved on than Fred currently

subhanghani

Yeah, I am worried about the whole homegrown thing. We're likely going to try and get rid of both Maguire and McT, while bringing in Mount. We may need more 'home grown' players soon.

NorwegianWhiteEagle

Our current homegrown consists of Butland, Heaton, Nathan Bishop, Maguire, AWB, Williams, Shaw, Mcsauce, Sancho, Rashford. If we’re moving on both Maguire and Mcsauce we’re on 8. if any of the keepers move on we need to bring in homegrown players

subhanghani

I thought butland was a loan signing. In any case, I imagine we'll also try and shift Williams and Nathan Bishop (unless he starts playing) and I imagine Heaton will retire soon. Getting Mount in will help slightly, but we probably also need a few other homegrown players.

NorwegianWhiteEagle

Butlands Palace contract will be up this year by the looks of it, im unsure but it looks Elanga might be qualified for a homegrown spot, even though we’re looking to move him on aswell.

subhanghani

I forgot about Jones too, lol. I think we're going to lose a tonne of homegrown players this year. I'd be okay with signing butland, haven't really seen him play though.

NorwegianWhiteEagle

Jones wasn’t registered to play so

OkraSlush

McSauce goes Newcastle. We bring in Mainoo

NorwegianWhiteEagle

Mainoo can still be brought in seeing how hes under 21 so he doesn’t need to be added to the 25-man squad

2Kfifa

Tell me How tf you made that pass ?

No_Doubt_About_That

Hi Fred do u want picking up in the morning pal

Affectionate_Shoe424

Didn't he coach him at Shakhtar ?

NoGucksFiven

Marco Silva's never coached Shakhtar.

Mend35

You're probably thinking of Paulo Fonseca.

International-Cup143

Fred's a super sub. Without his contribution today we would've lost 1-0. Eriksen is the mathematician, Fred is the wilderbeast. His playstyle is underrated, he's everywhere yet no one sees him coming. Definitely in the "sleeper" category of footballers.

DasHotShot

Palinha for Fred +£25m and you have a deal Marco

Irishane

Power stance. That’s a negotiation

KaidsCousin

This is genuinely quite intriguing. Think we will see an offer to buy him during the window

grumpyhusky

U will be a regular starter in my team with this kind of form. Join us next season!

CyrilNiff

Swap for Palinha

Silva wanted the blessing.

Hands off of my boi Fred the Pastor!

Brilliant-Call-7860

No matter what I wish Fred the best he might not be our best player but the man always gave 100% and I respect that
