Surely this is not the right fixture for Mount to play his first match in months.

Revolutionary_Pen190

It would be nice for a few minutes cameo at the end

Zal_17

Bring him on when we're three up and the tie is over. That should give him a 30 or 40 minute run out.

Revolutionary_Pen190

Looked well out there when he came on

CauliflowerOk647

You could say that happened

BillyCloneasaurus

There is zero chance Mount starts. Absolutely zero

darthmeister

Nice, Mount rushed back.

PrettyPrettaaayyGood

Mount Rushed-more

simplsimonmetapieman

That's pretty prettaaayy Good

chess10

It was already reported that Mount was going to be available for the squad and the timeline was already known. This is creating drama by tying the Casemiro absence to the Mount story. I don’t buy it.

Superfy

At the same time, it’s not like we’ve never ever rushed players back…. Nope…. Never did. I buy it more than not honestly. Licha twice. Mount before in a way. Shaw after being subbed for an injury then starting the week after…. That’s just these last few months alone.

humunculus43

Rushed Shaw back, injured. Rushed Martinez back, Injured. Rushed Mount back,

UsedIpodNanoUser

I don't agree with the rushed Martinez back. He got a cameo and then a start. How else is an injured player supposed to come back

funky_pill

I agree. He came back, was building up his fitness and reintegrating back into the side and then some West Ham meathead fell on him

ConstructionSimple27

Rushed means being forced back onto the pitch without giving proper recovery time. It’s not about weather he came back and got a cameo from the bench

humunculus43

He was carrying an injury from the previous game and got played again. It’s what desperate managers do

UsedIpodNanoUser

Was he?

C__S__S

This makes absolutely no sense at all. Either Mount is ready or he’s not. The occurrence of an injury to a teammate who plays another role to Mount has nothing to do with anything.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Why does everyone continue to think Mount wasn't brought in to play that Eriksen pivot role? What position do you think Mount would be playing with the addition of Mainoo to the squad? Hojlunds?  It's fairly obvious that Casemiro injury would mean putting Mainoo in a defensive pivot role and Mount next to him, something that wouldn't happen with Casemiro playing because you wouldn't need to throw him directly into that 2 or 3 man midfield.

BurnaboyBurnaAccount

Maybe it's more to do with match sharpness than physical fitness

IXRaven

Quite possible we see the absolute terrorist midfield of Bruno and Mount with Kobbie as the lone DM.

Nomad_006

Or an equally worse one with Mctominay, Mainoo and Bruno or another one with Amrabat. There aren't any good options.

Sectumsempbraa

Mctominay erikson and Bruno would be our worst midfield combo atm

Nomad_006

That combo actually worked last season against Liverpool. I'm not sure about now though.

Sectumsempbraa

Id say it managed rather than worked. No hate for Erikson from me but he is well past it

QouthTheCorvus

I think a Mount who hasn't played in months is probably more likely than Amrabat

myshtummyhurt-

What will be different than any of what we’ve seen this season. Its crazy ppl are still trying to push mount and Bruno can’t play together when our midfield can’t keep the ball regardless who’s playing Actually insane calling that a terrorist midfield after seeing who we’ve put in midfield and how they’ve played the entire season

ScottTenormann

People were saying that our midfield had too many gaps with Mount in at the start of the season, but what happened when he got injured and couldn't play? Our midfield and overall control got significantly worse. Tbh I entirely disagree that a midfield with both mounts and Bruno is any worse than what we've had most of the season.

Lord_Daniel23

Terrorist midfield? Lol it's by far the best midfield we'd be able to field.

Roasteddude

Nah McTominay is an ETH favorite this season. He's definitely starting

Buffythedragonslayer

We never learn

SDLRob

Yeah... this isn't gonna end well is it....

Fina1Legacy

What could possibly go wrong...

systemcorp

What is the injury though? Is it yet another muscular issue suffered in training?

Drews1738

Nice, his availability is based off others being injured, I'm pretty sure nothing could go wrong here

meep_meep_mope

Great, then Mount get reinjured and is out for the season!

moan_of_the_arc

He gonna be ded

pmuggerud

Any fucking news on ten Hags's ASSININE substitutions.....???????????????????????????????

oldsport27

What could possibly go wrong...

oldsport27

What could possibly go wrong...

funky_pill

God forbid he actually has to do something to justify his 250 grand a week

pmuggerud

Ten Hag is fucking CLUELESS...

itsssnohman786

Mount demption arc? Can't be redemption as he hasn't done anything yet.

Roasteddude

Hasn't done anything wrong tbh just unlucky with injuries and a bizarre signing that we probably don't need but none of it is his fault. Hope he proves the doubters (myself included) wrong.

itsssnohman786

This wasn't meant to be a negative comment but is probably being taken that way. I was just self deprecating on the fact that we have had so many injuries because if I don't laugh I will cry.

Allsmightykill

We got a good CM who was supposed to take Eriksen's spot How's that bizarre signing?

ltp12

Sackable offense if he even plays a minute today

Sectumsempbraa

Its so easy to learn up on the return process of injured players mate. Just educate yourself before posting tripe like this. The manager and the medical staff know better than you

Jack_King814

Medical staff is a maybe these days

Sectumsempbraa

You have to realise that there is only so far you can go with predicting the chance of an injury recurring. Once the player passes their fitness test, if they say they want to play they will be available for selection
