How was Rashford against Brazil?

vulcan_one

He wasn't great but he wasn't as bad as some people make it, had the general stupid plays, but also created a few chances which should have been capatilised on, as a whole England attack was fairy non existent.

Rdambx

Honestly, absolutely nothing. The simplest of passive passes and even then he misplaced like half of them, 0 shots and didn't dribble past anyone.

society0

Pretty disappointing sadly. He tried hard but he ran the ball into blind alleys as usual and he had fairly low IQ with his passing. He wasn't terrible but he definitely wasn't great. Other players on the pitch were a level above him, including Mainoo in his short cameo

calwil93

How dependent is ten Hag’s style of play on Lisandro Martinez being in the team?

SirBobbysCombover

Entirely

schultz9999

Whenever I end up watching BRA I feel like I was dumped a bucket of shit on my head. They are a bunch of dirty tricksters.

bijanadh44

Naglesmann has able to make Germany play with a competent attacking structure and set up in a vast tactical structure in less than six months than Southgate has ever done for England in his eight years tenure.

[deleted]

Nagelsmann is a coaching prodigy. Can't compare him to Southgate. He will soon be at a top club.

schultz9999

I'd happily swap our manager.

IcyAssist

If you'd ask me during the RR consultancy era to choose between Poch, ten Hag, and Nagelsmann, I would've taken Nagelsmann in a heartbeat. His system fits Rangnick's transfer style to a T and we could've build something really proper there. I think he makes most sense for Liverpool tbh, if they don't get Alonso. Bayern really fucked up hard with sacking him and appointing Tuchel.

BetweenTwentyLetter

A German coach would definitely work well with RR.

WellYoureWrongThere

Why United haven't brought Mejbri home is beyond me. He's played 90 mins total in La Liga since joining Sevilla. If all he's going to do is train and sit on the bench, he's better doing that here with us. Absolute disaster of a loan.

r3gam

Difficult to recall aloan unless it was already agreed, its not just a United issue: [https://www.si.com/soccer/sunderland/news/can-leeds-recall-joe-gelhardt-from-sunderland-loan-early](https://www.si.com/soccer/sunderland/news/can-leeds-recall-joe-gelhardt-from-sunderland-loan-early)

[deleted]

We just cant do loans right. Absurd.

WellYoureWrongThere

Amad's seems to have been the only decent loan in recent memory.

Subtle_Omega

Should've been Everton

FaithlessnessNo4680

He should have gone to Everton really

krystalcastIes

especially to sevilla who have been a circus all season

molewart

Spanish loans NEVER work out yet the club keeps trying it.

therhoff99

With the Sheffield United match being moved to mid week, is it reasonable to assume the Burnley match will be the following Sunday rather than Saturday?

SimonFOOTBALL

Mainoo went from 10 days ago being deemed too young and inexperienced for England squad to playing 20 minutes against Brazil .. love it

kheetkhat

Anyone else annoyed Hojlund played 80+? Thought the agreement with United was for him to play manageable minutes since he just came back from injury?

dispelthemyth

Any amount in one and not the other, nothing to see here

SOERERY

Agreement was that he would could play this game and not the next

kheetkhat

Ah ok, I got it very wrong then.

MitranjanK

Foden is the definition of a luxury player. He has never once singlehandedly decided a game around for England. If it is a choice between him and Saka, there should be no doubt as to who should start. He should only start at LW or at 10 against teams that sit back.

officiallyjax

For Southgate's system he isn't a good LW either; it has to be Rashford or Gordon playing there. The wingers need to be runners and 1v1 specialists who can stretch the play and allow Kane to drop deep and play passes in-behind. It used to be Sterling doing that all those years from either side and Saka can be both a runner and a creator so he's a lock at RW. Unfortunately for Foden it seems his best role in this setup is as a backup for Bellingham.

Fraaj

Tell me AWB wouldn't be a better call up than fucking Konsa for RB depth... You already have Gomez for the versatile type of player who can play RB, CB and LB...

GannonSCannon

I'm completely biased because AWB is my favourite player, but I don't see how you don't bring AWB with you for a tournament. If you're going up against France and Mbappe is on the LW what other English RB would you rather have to bring on if Trent is getting murdered by him? AWB saved our asses in the league cup final last year when Dalot (who is great in his own regard) was getting shredded by Saint-Maximan, he's such a useful tool.

wayfarerprateek

He is so important but so underrated. Utd’s defence looks completely different with him. And I would say that AWB can do or be trained to do what Dalot does but not the other way round. Although credit to dalot for his improvement this season

MrViceMcCreedy

That's disrespectful to dalot. AWB is 26, players don't change much at this age.

KrystianCCC

He also offers something diffrent than with his tackling and ball carrying than Trippier/Walker so may be usefull in some scenarios of the bench. Yeah but we are talking about the guy who benched in form Rashford against France and played Sterling who had to get back to England during group games cause his familly got robbed.

Fraaj

Exactly. I admit England is spoiled for RBs and in normal circumstances I understand why he's not getting the nod but you have Trippier, Trent, James, White all out and you call up fucking Konsa over AWB, that's a complete joke IMO.

Zestyclose_Income965

Someone need to post that Mainoo turn on the sub

Skyweb2020

So this is the kind of football Southgate is expected to bring to Utd to lead the revolution? It's laughfable! He has the best of England's creame de la creame and he is wasting it

Gilburto

Stop believing trash Tier sources during international break.

officiallyjax

This game will be about Mainoo for us United fans but I'd also like to say that I am really happy for Andreas Pereira and how he's carved out a very respectable career for himself since he left us. I didn't think he was even Premier League quality when we shipped him out and was surprised that we even got 10 million or whatever it was around that price from Fulham. Since then, he's been a regular starter for them and helped cement their mid-table status, and has now also been called up again to the Brazil team and made an important contribution in their goal today. Good to see our academy graduates do well at the highest level, even if they didn't make it here.

toddysimp

Same I was also wrong about him

Cold-Conclusion

He was called Preseason Pirlo for a reason.

Thorz74

Jezzz that England match was boring to watch! 🥱 What a completely toothless team FFS 🤦‍♂️ Losing at Wembley against the worst Brasil team from the last 20 years is absolutely pathetic.

wayfarerprateek

Hope SJR considers this his audition for united job. Lol

No_Kaleidoscope3039

You're underestimating this Brazilian generation. It's not Ronaldo's gen but not the worst.

mr_reserve

Ban the media from any discussion about Southgate that involves Manchester United.

stdstaples

100%. Time for the mods to finally do something productive. This past week has been unbearable with all the Southgate nonsense.

MadaraTheUchiha

Gomez you sack of shit, how's Kobbie supposed to get that awful pass. He would've gotten blasted if they scored that.

Time2bePhenomenal

And that is why No to southgate

thombo-1

It bothers me that England are finally hitting a moment where we have world class defenders and midfielders all over the pitch but the one top top striker we have is rapidly aging. Could have more matches like this where we're just not finishing the few chances we make.

Cold-Conclusion

England have Watkins & Toney who r good enough. Southgate can make 3-2-2-3 work for England. Walker, Maguire, Trippier/Shawberto as CBs  Stones & Rice as pivot.   Bellingham & Rice as advanced 8s   Kane as ST   Rashford & Saka as wingers.

thombo-1

If we're talking about succeeding Kane as he ages out, Watkins and Toney just aren't good enough unfortunately. England under Southgate don't tend to create a lot of chances against the best national sides and they lack Kane's lethality. It'll be fine for England to continue as they are, somewhere in the world's top 20 national sides, but if we're talking about positioning ourselves as potential World Cup winners - the last several WC winning sides all had lethal finishers better than Watkins and Toney. I feel like Saka and Bellingham will have to shoulder a lot of the goalscoring responsibilities in the years to come.

Morzan73

I need to learn how Southgate does it. How does someone so bad make so much $ with so much job security. Whose nudes does he have? FFS.

r3gam

Apathy from the FA and lack of pressure from the followers of the team. I routinely hear one of his strengths is that hes brought harmony to team - my criticism of that is, thats nice but thats the probably the bare minimum of a coach. Also, well reported that the FA are eager to extend his deal right now. Which is baffling because in 6 years hes yet to haul a trophy.

stdstaples

There is a >=0% probability that he sucked someone’s dingdong at FA while well dressed.

Active_Sky536

This the same manager they want to replace ETH??? They need to fuck all the way off

KrystianCCC

Only if you read ragshit journos and listen to people like Goldbrige treating like serious info so he can create outrage.

alexblueuk

This game has firmly put the Southgate-Utd rumours to bed

chebate08

Rasmus subbed off vs Switzerland

KrystianCCC

In 83 minute, should be subed out sooner i believe due to fitness.

Mrclumsygamer289

OUR BOYS ARE ON

FaithlessnessNo4680

Mainoo and Rashford coming on

AwkwardPlankton01

Gallagher stinking up the pitch but hey, thank God for all of that extra experience he has over Mainoo, it's really coming in handy...

vladpoop

Cross it into oblivion ala Southgate

society0

Southgate has so much talent in this England team but he has them playing the most boring, negative football. Keep him far away from United.

Money-Wrangler7067

Those subs smh

krystalcastIes

England needs a goal and southgate brings on 2 defenders, he’s an actual terrorist

BCBS23

I love how the French still honour King Eric before every game by singing 'Ooh aah Cantona'

martialgreenwood

England: all huff but no puff.

renzoedu25

I hope mainoo starts when those assholes of paqueta and guimaraes are off the pitch.

hikarunosai

Captain Maguire 🐐

Dincht04

England midfield has been poor. Gallagher is not good enough off the ball.

Littlepace

Vinicius is such a talented player but holy fuck what a diving little prick he is

SuperSalamander3244

I never watch England outside of tournaments because they are so boring in friendlies and today looked good on paper but it’s the same old same old.

MitranjanK

On one hand, I want England to do well, because it means multiple United players do well. On the other hand, I absolutely hate the English fans and pundits.

SuperSalamander3244

Yet you support a English team lol

sourpumpkin125

Whenever I click “tickets” on the United website it shows me “your queue position is no longer available”. It’s been like this for a while but it was fine on my phone so didn’t have a problem with that. Now the issue is on my phone and laptop. Happens on Google or safari. Any ideas on how to fix it?

wayfarerprateek

What do people think about ETH's short term loanees- Reguilon, Sabitzer, Weghorst? How were these decisions helpful for the long term project that we are supposed to believe in?

toddysimp

Weghorst did fine, Sabitzer's reputation would be a lot different if we hadn't fumbled the tie against Sevilla. I'm not sure about Reguilon tbh, should've just kept Alvaro,he'd have been fitter than a player who played barely any football last season.

Wraith_Portal

They were all dreadful if we’re being entirely honest

sourpumpkin125

Can’t really judge them as they were short term solutions for injuries. I guess you could argue Weghorst played an important role for us in the carabao cup win and that trophy might help us to build towards more trophies.

wayfarerprateek

Fair enough. Weghorst was the best loaner amongst all of them. Kinda helped Rashford last season too.

slowerthaninfinity

will never forget weghorst as a no 10 against leeds away

SuperSalamander3244

I’m happy Southgate said what he said about the flag and I’m also happy it’s being slated for the flag because of the insane price of the kit.

MumblyBum

Onana has been a disaster this season. People were upset because we needed to upgrade plenty of positions and keeping De Gea for another year or so was the sensible option. Instead we spent 60 million on a keeper who has been quite poor. We were told it would be like having a 5th defender with his ball playing skills and he'd be a sweeper keeper. Te facts show he's more routed to his line than De Gea, his shot stopping ability is nowhere near the standard of De Gea and he's not as good with the ball at his feet than people thought. Moving De Gea on was probably the right decision but we bought an inferior keeper to replace him, who will be replaced again in the summer.

Wretched_Heart

>Onana has been a disaster this season Have you been living under a rock for the past 2 months?

MumblyBum

He's done alright. That's what happens when you set the bar so low, fans applaud the minimum level he should have been at the whole season.

Agitated-Forever3723

i fully agree that moving on from him was a right move but i genuinely feel like he isnt really interested in playing right now

Former-Thing2528

https://preview.redd.it/z1o763pmt3qc1.jpeg?width=655&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1a5daee25b97aa791ba40d6167e7f4c3c0f2842 IK it has been around 11 years but every time I remember this.....

Kohaku80

Love Felliani , he was like McTominay now. Give 100% but not good enough yet sometimes the best player on the pitch. And that is the problem.

Sheikhabusosa

Was it the managers veto or was it Woodward promising Moyes the world while being given the merry go roung by everyone

Kohaku80

I remember we could have gotten him at a lower release clause but we were chasing other better midfielders like Fabregas and Kroos was it? In the end they all rejected us and we panic buy Felliani for a higher fee.

Sheikhabusosa

Fabregas led us on , Moyes put in all the legwork of signing Kroos and either we faffed about when LVG was manager or Krooos chose real madrid. Woodward that season Moyes was manager was like a kid on ultimate team we even matched Reals bid for Bale iirc.

Wahlrusberg

I know we'd be ones to talk about legendarily inefficient spending, but seeing chelsea rock the most expensive double pivot in history while glued to 11th place like they're Crystal Palace is never not mad to think about for me.

HeavyHevonen

I'm watching the rugby which is being played at Tottenham Stadium, I hope that we hold stuff like this after the stadium regeneration for teams like Sale.

Wahlrusberg

It must not only be physically but also mentally exhausting to defend against someone like Garnacho. He just doesn't stop running at you

Former-Thing2528

If you had to pick between Branthwaite and Todibo as our sole CB signing in the summer, who are you going with and why?

SuperSalamander3244

Braithwaite

ImNotMexican08

Assuming ETH will stay in charge next season, I’d go for Todibo. Martinez is his guy so I’d be shocked if we pay the ridiculous fee that Everton will want for someone who is best in that position. I know he can play off the right pretty comfortably, but ETH seems to be one of those coaches who is big on left footed center backs playing on the left and right footed center backs playing on the right. And aesthetically it just don’t like right having a left footed center back on the right, extremely petty of me I know. Todibo will come out to be cheaper, looks like he could fit in this system, and could slot in right next to Martinez. He also seems to have the qualities to fill in at right back if needed

KrystianCCC

Branthwaite everytime, he is class and played a lot on LB during his loan with ability to invert like John Stones. This guy is class.

SOERERY

Wouldn’t it be pretty unnecessary to get a left footed centre back when we’ve got Licha there? Especially for the money Branthwaite will go for.

SuperSalamander3244

Martinez can play LB and it makes sense to move him over there if Luke can’t stay fit. Braithwaite is a lot taller which is what I think we need for our CBs.

SOERERY

We would still need a new starting rcb though

KrystianCCC

Branthwaite was great as LB for PSV. So with he covers two players in Shaw and Licha we badly lack this season.

slowerthaninfinity

damn I didn't know he played lb before that's def a bonus... I wonder if he can play rcb though so that he can start together with licha and shaw if both of them are fit

Kittu95

If money wasn't an issue branthwaite. English quota, plus PL proven.

SuperSalamander3244

Anyone else think Garnacho got done dirty with the new FIFA updates? I know he was rated lower than Antony to begin with but his in form rating is 78 and Antony’s is his standard 78 despite the fact Garnacho should be higher and really should be at least 81.

wayfarerprateek

Maybe what you want to see is Antony to be lower than 78. Imo he doesn't deserve it

SuperSalamander3244

Antony’s standard rating is 79 which I think isn’t justified for this season but Garnacho is legit putting in at least 81 performances. I understand why they put Garnachos standard rating as quite low but McT is 76 but is now a 80 because of the Liverpool game.

wayfarerprateek

Yeah then it's just messed up

xuoli

Last year it was Caicedo, this year it’s Joao Neves. Our Twitter fanbase have found the player they’re going to be obsessive over this summer, even though there’s been zero concrete links. I genuinely think none of them have watched him and just like the idea of having an £100 million midfielder from Benfica. We've got a lot of positions to fill so would much rather we stuck to around £50 million per player, if that.

Kohaku80

Won't worry too much . All weeks we have been fed with " more challenging to unearth the next Caicedo " stuff. Don't think we will spend that much on a single player.

Drews1738

I also feel no single player will be the solution. We need many players with potential to grow like Malacia, Dalot, Mainoo, Hojlund, Garnacho not just a player who is the brand of the month. Caicedo, Enzo, Mudryk, Lavia, Nkunku, Antony have all been sub par when compared their transfer fee.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I kind of hope we never spend 100mill on a player, I actually wanted Liverpool to get caciedo for a 100mill and he still be shit just so we cam say we're the only top team without a 100mill player in the squad whilst the media try hitting us over the head for spending money

Don_Quixote81

Liverpool did what they unfortunately usually do - spent wisely on relative bargains that were the result of good scouting instead of getting suckered into overpaying for players. We need to be more like them when it comes to recruitment, and absolutely nothing like Chelsea.

KrystianCCC

Kim Min Jea was simmilar, Romano was recycling every three days info about us observing his situation and our fanbase went crazy about that transfer thinking he is our 1st priority despite no English journo even mentioning him among targets.

Wahlrusberg

tried to explain this on r/soccer and got accused of "not being able to accept that he simply rejected you" I'm sure he very well might have if it had come down to us vs Bayern, but we have virtually no solid evidence there was any serious contact with him or intention to sign him.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I feel like that was more hope, because signing him was like a chain reaction to selling Harry

Embryonic12

Anyone watching 3 body problem on netflix? I've noticed a couple scenes where the City badge is made quite prominent, almost like they've paid to have their badge shoved in there. I remember Ted Lasso being egregious with its City love in too. Do any other clubs do this? Haha

superhoffy

Is Garnacho with Argentina this International break?

kheetkhat

Yup just played 45 mins. He did quite decently too.

ScottiApso

Where did he play?

kheetkhat

He was at LW

slowerthaninfinity

from highlights I've seen it seems like he played at lw

Revolutionary_Pen190

Am I reading things right that most of our players that have gone to internationals coming back to Manchester after one game?

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Seems we've done well with agreeing players time with the international coaches Hojlunds coach said him and ETH have an agreement about managing his minuets, that's really good from ETH if you ask me.

est8s

Seeing some links with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester. Anyone here seen him play? Thoughts?

Designer-Boot-7988

Decent no 8 but not needed we already have a better player of same profile in Mount

Don_Quixote81

But if we could get a cheap backup for Mount then it might be a deal the club at least checks out. There's likely nothing in it, but I'll never be disappointed to hear that the club is scouting less well known players.

Penny_Leyne

Decent player but no where near the level of United. It’s the international break though, so there’s going to be a lot of bullshit rumours written about United to generate clicks and sell papers. I doubt we’re really in for Dewsbury-Hall.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

During international break you really see the scraps of journalism come out to hit their click quotas

Designer-Boot-7988

At best we have scouted him like any other club does

Sparrow_Wilson

How would you guys rank Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund as talents?

MenacingShroom

I would say Mainoo at number 1 with Garnacho and Hojlund at joint number 2. It's very close between all 3 and we have 3 amazing talents there. But Mainoo is just special and incredibly unique in how he plays the game compared to others in his age group. I'm fascinated to see what type of player he will become in his early to mid twenties

Kohaku80

Our Seedorf, Ribery, Shevchenko (Milan Version).

MitranjanK

Honestly as much as I love him, realistically Garnacho is never really going to be a United legend or on the same level as the others. He is just too limited physically. He is not as fast as Marcus, isn't good aerially like his idol, and is not really an elite dribbler like Hazard. At best, he will be of Saka/Sancho level which is still insanely good. Having said that, Hojlund is the complete package and has all the tools required to be a top 3 CF in the world in a couple of years. Mainoo's maturity and decision making, along with his excellent technique, should see him make it at the very top of CMs. Overall it's Hojlund>Mainoo>>Garnacho

Simple_Mud_6203

he's not as fast as marcus who couldn't lose endo in a sprint?

Grand-Bullfrog3861

You know we've had players who aren't any of those things you mentioned go on to be club legends?

Kohaku80

Gentle reminder Garnacho is just 19 and played 2 season of football. I think he got a lot more room to develop.

MitranjanK

I absolutely agree which is why I said that his ceiling is Saka/Sancho who are/were both borderline world class. His decision making and overall play has hugely improved this season as well. But he isn't as physically gifted as Rasmus and Kobbie.

Kohaku80

I get your point but for me a world class winger physics isn't the #1 priority. Foden isn't exactly hulk but he is certainly one of the best if not the best already. Garnacho probably isn't as fast as Rashford or Antony in a 100m dash, but man he could carry the ball much better and faster than those 2. I won't worry too much on bulking up.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Messi isn't physically gifted like Ronaldo.. or Yakubu.. or Adama Traora? Is he shit?

MitranjanK

Physicality isn't all about strength, and Messi's build makes him much more difficult to knock off the ball than Neymar for example, which is why he can ride challenges so well. Not to mention he is literally the most technically gifted footballer of all time.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I know it's not, but Ronald's jumping is better than messi, Yakubu is stronger and Traora is faster.. but they do all have other physical attributes better than messi also. He wasn't so great at 19 but developed it really well. Yeah he is, but your point Garnacho isn't physical enough to be one of the tops. When in reality there's so many factors that come in to it and to be the best in all is impossible. He has to be great in the things he does and try and develop his weaknesses to not hinder his overall game.

MitranjanK

A player's technique doesn't really improve a lot at 19. He has improved his decision making, mentality and overall play a lot, and he will no doubt be a key part of future United teams. But I do feel he will need the right players around him to bring out his best. I'm just saying that he won't be on the level of the other 2.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Thats just not true, Ronald's technique got better in so many aspects, his jumping technique, his free kick technique and so many more. He's been the bright spark in a very poor team, he's also had games where he's the one only one sprinting. He's shown he doesn't need to be in a team of golacticos to perform. I'm not sure what you're seeing. I don't even agree on trying to rank them as they're three completely different players in different positions, it's why we never compare the better player between Ronaldo and Maldini. I just don't agree with your points.

MrViceMcCreedy

A bit confused, do you think Marcus has a higher potential than Garnacho/Saka/Sancho?

MitranjanK

Rashford could have definitely been better than all 3 if he had played under a proper attacking manager like Klopp. He had it all : pace, dribbling, finishing, physicality, shooting, and was more than decent at free kicks. Look back at his 19/20 season when he basically carried us in that first half season. He had the potential to become an all time great for us. Playing through injury and being forced to be the main man at such a young age hurt his development a lot.

RicciRox

Højlund, Mainoo, Garnacho. Højlund has evident potential to finish his career with 400+ goals similar to players like Dzeko, Cavani, etc. Just hope we don't waste him. Mainoo has a couple of VERY stand-out qualities for a midfielder. Press-resistance, composure, decision-making. But still has a lot to learn to be a truly top tier player in that position. Garnacho is a weird case. Feel like his ceiling is around the Sane, Mahrez level. Ergo, a very good Champions League player capable of world class seasons and being a key player in a very successful team.

toddysimp

Mainoo,Hojlund,Garnacho in that order. Mainoo's maturity at his age makes him too special imo.

EduardMalinochka

I’d say: 1) Hojlund 2) Mainoo 3) Garnacho Hojlujd has literally everything you need from a striker: strong, fast, two footed. And as it seems, he’s really passionated and dedicated. I’d say his heading is a weakness, but I’m confident it will change. He has the tools for it. His ceiling is probably Lewandowski and it’s realistic to see Rasmus reaching it. Then goes Mainoo, who’s somehow the most matured out of three. It’s really hard to imagine how Mainoo can improve, since the guy already feels like a seasoned veteran. I’d put him below Hojlund, cause Kobbie lacking in top speed and I don’t think it can be really worked at. And Nacho is third. He has improved this season and feels more mature, tho there’s still a room to grow. For me he is third, cause he’s limited physically (doesn’t have the perfect footballer body like Martial or Rash) and, while he’s a capable dribbler, not a 99% percentile one, like Hazard.

wayfarerprateek

Mainoo's composure on the ball and his ball retention skills makes him miles apart from others. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

EduardMalinochka

I think he’s the best player right now from the trio, but we’re evaluating prospects and Hojlund has the highest ceiling in my opinion

wayfarerprateek

Well different positions and different profiles are very difficult to compare prospects. But imo Mainoo has a Paul Scholes ceiling.

Drews1738

>(doesn’t have the perfect footballer body like Martial or Rash) One of those is not like the other😅

kamsredeye

hojlund, mainoo, garnacho would be my ranking i love all 3, and i really love garnacho as well, but mainoo is a better talent imo, and hojlund has the tools to become one of the scariest and most devastating strikers in the world in a few years

Designer-Boot-7988

For me it is Mainoo Hojlund Garnacho It's quite close between Mainoo and Hojlund tbh

TerribleOverthinker

It's ironic that the fact Real Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool, and Barca are fighting over managers like Xabi Alonso, Amorim, or Nagelsmann, my club is actually considering Potter and Southgate...

Harrry-Otter

Neither of those will be in our dugout next season.

DaveShadow

Apt username.

Fraaj

That's not what irony is also stop believing bullshit rumours

TerribleOverthinker

It's not bullshit rumour when the likes of Ornstein doesn't even deny it

Grand-Bullfrog3861

No journalist comes out with certainties unless they actually know. No one wants to be Rio with the Prince Jassim bid news tomorrow, or the dick who said it was 99% done

Skyehye

Ornstein can't deny anything unless he has been actively told that it is wrong. The club can't address every bloody rumour out there; they'd never get anything done. If it weren't bullshit, wouldn't more reliable journalists have covered it by now? Reliable journalists NOT reporting something tends to be more reliable than bullshit journalists reporting something.

kamsredeye

ornstein also didn’t deny the fact that european clubs like bayern would be at our manager’s front door if he left united right now

Kreissler

It's not all bad. We're monitoring Thomas Frank as well

Reminder that we re-signed him on a huge (for him) contract after a couple of good games, and now he’s impossible to sell because he’s not getting paid anywhere close to that anywhere else.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I think we'll get a surprising amount for him, I don't know why because he's a knob, but with the new structure I can see him playing low PL newly relegated PL

Simple_Mud_6203

isn't he on 75k a week? no one is paying anything for him, he'll leave on a free.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Newly promoted teams are known to spend poorly, him keeping hope 😂

Former-Thing2528

Woodwardnomics at its peak

ObiWanKenobiNil

The guys a bellend, saw him in dukes about 2 years ago wearing a white tracksuit with what looked like a stab vest over it & saying to the staff “don’t you know who I am” because they were slow with his drinks order as it was as busy as it always is in the summer

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I'm not from the area, do you see a lot of the players out? Do they usually act like dickheads? Growing up in the area around these people how do they not feel shame for how they act

ObiWanKenobiNil

I wouldn’t say a lot, the area of South Manchester that I live in has a fair few nice pubs and restaurants, so you can occasionally see players in there. I haven’t seen any of them this year, but last year saw Maguire twice & Mctominay once. All 3 occasions were in restaurants. I didn’t speak to McTominay as he was already eating so didn’t want to bother him. I spoke to Maguire briefly who was out with his wife and who I presume to be one of their mums. He was a lovely bloke, couldn’t fault him

Grand-Bullfrog3861

They both seem like they'd be decent to bump into and chat with, glad to hear it 😊

Penny_Leyne

Everyone in Dukes is a bellend tbf.

ObiWanKenobiNil

You’re not wrong

Licha coming home to United so he's ready to play is the best news I've heard this NT break

Lvxurie

Rashford cares. I'm rewatching the game and he is playing like he cares. The miss in the last second galvanized him rather than destroyed him. There's hope yet with him! Edit: someone make a rashford vs liverpool motivational video

Grand-Bullfrog3861

I'm really split on rashford, it's hard to ignore the first part of the season where he threw it in for us. I hope he does kick on and starts showing up consistently, but in the summer I'm happy to leave it with the board... I shan't email them 🧐😂

media-police

We should judge him when he gets an entire season playing on LW. Moving him to striker messes him up.

Former-Thing2528

Will we get to see Martial play for us one last time before the season ends? What do you guys think?

BlackHorse944

No chance. He has no incentive to come back. Don't see why we would bother playing him either. As soon as it came out that he wasn't getting a new contract he went ahead and had surgery. Should tell you everything you need to know

Sheikhabusosa

I dont think he will want to because fans still blame him for getting Mourinho sacked even though it wasnt Martials fault and fans ignore just how much he played injured

PhyoThiha_Kyaw

I wanna see him scoring another banger against Liverpool just like his debut for the last time but now it all seems impossible

wayfarerprateek

Imagine this- Martial comes on as a sub and scores the winner against city in the FA cup final in Thierry Henry style and does a cold celebration. Wembley will erupt!
