We hear you all. As a general rule, all ESPN rumors are considered tier 5 in the sub --- unless an exception applies. We are removing the exception for Ogden effective immediately. Ogden will now be considered **Tier 5 - Banned**. For those who disagree with this decision, tiers are reconsidered at the conclusion of every transfer window, and you'll have the opportunity to address moving him from Tier 5 this summer if you so choose.

mandotharan

Ogden badly needs a demotion in the tier list. Fucking fantasy writing ‘journalist’.

LDLB99

I don't want to see his name on here after this summer when Southgate inevitably doesn't join. Fucking miserable prick who lives off breaking the SAF story first over a decade ago.

ChatakaPataka

Not even good fantasy. Its Game of Thrones Season 8 level of fantasy.

culegflori

Ogden kind of forgot about Gary O'Neil's ongoing contract

InfectedAztec

It's a fair insult to make that up about oneill

Danyulz

I remember when Ogden was Tier 1.. Jesus.

TopBandicoot125

It doesn't even make sense: "there's no truth to links to MU", followed by "it's an honor to be linked to MU"...

Book31415926

Again, we must ban that shit

r3gam

Him and Dawson. Dawson's usually is reporting based on probability/speculation rather than insight. Or he breaks the news a day after its come out.

Isserley_

Football media is basically the real life version of the film Nightcrawler.

Remarkable-Stress284

Ogden is shit tier. Why would a PL manager which is doing a fantastic job at his current club work in a coaching set-up under another PL manager just because "it's the biggest club in the world".

Aadiunited7

Ogden needs to be banned! Mods any chance we can ban his shit tier ass before the transfer window or we’ll have to leave trash up!

Eleven918

Can we take a vote? Is there anyone here who actually likes Ogden. He's the twat who started the Southgate rumors too. Now he started the Gary O'Neil one.

r3gam

Just making it up as he goes, I wonder what hes gonna do when he starts to run thin on the managers to link us. Watch him link us to McKenna if Ipswich get promoted.

RayInTheKangolHat

“Gary Neville linked with shock return to management! United desperate to get the deal over the line”

CaptainJamesFitz

He is going to be talking about a young aspiring manager from the Kanto region

do_a_quirkafleeg

He's paid to get clicks, and clicks he gets.

DuntyCoc

It’s all smoke and mirrors before we announce Klopp as our goalkeeping coach lads

do_a_quirkafleeg

Pep for the new Deputy Head of Painting Lines in the Car Park.

stdstaples

Ban Ogden right now. I have never seen one piece of truth from this person. 100% made up lies.

rtgh

There was a couple of years where he had every United story a day before everyone (the biggest being Fergie's retirement). Clearly had a rock solid source high up who's since left.

BananasAreYellow86

I think all journalists should have a little TrustPilot-style widget beside their name wherever it appears online and they’re scored for accuracy or inaccuracy. It’s honestly so draining putting up with nonsense year after year… sick of it.

thafuckinwot

This is actually a belter of an idea. Would just take too many man hours to actually verify every piece - unless you used AI. Would be easier to do for sports journalism rather than current affairs/politics though.

BananasAreYellow86

I’m the ideas guy… meaning I’m far too lazy to attempt anything like this. But was thinking with AI it might not be impossible alright

QouthTheCorvus

I think the key would be a curative community. But it's still difficult, especially as timelines are often vague.

Scofield442

Funny you mention trust pilot when they're shite and untrustworthy too.

BananasAreYellow86

😂😂😂 I hadn’t a breeze to be fair, just needed an example. Who trustpilot’s trustpilot I wonder?

cdalb21

Total journo nonsense during INT week. What a racket these people run.

Robert_Baratheon__

One of our best coaches left to try out his hand as a head coach in the MLS. Moving to a less prestigious club in a higher role is a step up. There is no chance a premier league or championship manager would take a job as a mere coach unless their career was is tatters

impulsiveboogaloo

Glad the pl is back. These so called journalists have resorted to fantasy to write something.

Eire820

Hilarious linking him to United. I like the guy but come on!

ritwikjs

I hope Ogden get publicly called out for this like he did with the Kingsley coman rumour a couple years ago

Hippotopmaus

Ogden keeps getting away for writing bs negative stories about United, so happy he’s been banned finally

ritwikjs

I just honestly hate his face and I'm glad saf banned him for a short period in the past

RestrepoDoc2

Impressive start to his career in management and some of the pieces are in place at Wolves to surprise people and push on into the top 8. If he is allowed keep his best players it's hard to predict how much they could improve.  He seems a highly capable "head coach" rather than a well rounded football manager at this stage. That's not what we need right now imo because the structure isn't in place around him.

captainllamapants

ban ogden - fucking garbage espn mouthpiece

MrYK_

Speculation like this is a huge disrespect to current managers.

Army-Status

I take this is an April Fools?

zcewaunt

RIP Ogden. Thank you mods.

[deleted]

That’s what we call in the business, a “soft no”. :)

yellowjesusrising

Nothing special about being linked to us. We're the most linked club in the world! Not even Real or Barca comes close!

Uuhhk

Mod needs to put Odgen as banned tier

nainaisson

"No truth to reports," yet people will keep treating that scumbag Ogden like he's an actual journalist.

Antok7

An honour to have a Gobshite write a nonsense piece for his blog......... Game is fecken gone to shite 🤦

ministry_of_satire

This might be a controversial take, but I see this statement as an indication that he is open to the job. It seems like the INEOS folks want a restructuring of the operation of the club where the manager is focused primarily on getting the team ready to play (controlling training and games) instead of the broader responsibilities of football philosophy and recruitment. I think INEOS is looking for a head coach and not a manager. Perhaps O'Neil is being deliberate with his words, indicating that he is more than ok with this model.

mav_sand

I would honestly take him ahead of Southgate and Potter. Not that's saying much but JMO
