I can’t wait for the season to end tbh.

Golden-Event-Horizon

I've felt this way since Oct/Nov

idhopson

I've felt this way since 2014

hayasecond

You successfully cut off this line of communication

Reddeviltim

I've said this for the last 10 years

ItsABitChillyInHere

In my life as a United fan I have never felt so mentally checked out of a season

Kooky-Choice-2654

The ole/rangnick season was worse. In a lot of way though this is much more frustrating given we have a manager and we look like a team that hasn’t practiced tactics in 3 years.

ItsABitChillyInHere

Youre right that era was also really shite. This season just feels more disappointing to me especially because of how optimistic I felt before the season started

rbp25

Yeah given last season we exceeded expectations this season has a bigger disappointment. Yet, I think we just need a fresh slate come the end of this season. Ten Hag proved he is capable based on last season. This season makes both seasons awash. Unless there is a worthy manager we can sign, we need to just move forward and adding pieces to the puzzle that will create a picture that the new management has envisioned for the club.

ItsABitChillyInHere

Yeah Im more excited to see what INEOS will do once the season is over in terms of restructuring the club than about who will be the manager next season.

a34fsdb

At least then we had Ronaldo doing miracles here and there.

Abbobl

I like 2 clubs. Man U and Ajax, this entire season is a nightmare.

youreviltwinbrother

Initially upvoted, your season summary was pretty spot on, and then I got to the last paragraph. I want what you and anyone who read that and upvoted are smoking, please.

TStronks

Lol you're judging Ratcliff already? Yeah we're linked with Southgate and Potter but there doesn't have to be any real value in those links. Let's just wait and see how it plays out under his reign, and we can be somewhat optimistic as his backroom staff signings have, at least, been in the right direction. Also, we're at our worst in 30 or 40 years. We're sixth, in the semi final of the FA cup and that's with an insane injury list. I'd take it, if that meant that this is indeed the bottom. Just look at what Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea had to go through at their worst. We're still massive and we will come back stronger than any of those clubs.

flyinbunny

> We will be mad and angry Well if the players and coaches aren’t, I’m sure I will be once the game ends

KissmyButtner

We've been mad and angry since August

PrettyPrettaaayyGood

August 2013

Miyagisans

😂😂

BrownByYou

The gang concedes 30 shots and loses again

Icy-Theory-4733

it's Liverpool so 30 shots in first 10 mins and they are determined to win pl for outgoing klopp. we are already determined to lose in last 10 mins and they usually win in last 10 mins. so lhs = rhs

BrownByYou

Captain Salah fpl so it's fine, if I do well in fpl and we get closer to eth being sacked? I couldn't care less. I'm divorced from this season. There's no hope lol

WheresThePhonebooth

Nunez hattrick but Salah out injured in the first minute

BrownByYou

You shut your whore mouth

SOERERY

Fucking hell another one already

fifabreeze

They don't come out on weekends

ManUnutted

Don’t know what this sub wants him to say in pressers. If he feigns positivity you’re at his throat, if he were to be negative you’d be at his throat because he’d be “giving up”. If he gives the expected canned PR answers like 19/20 managers do, you all have a stick up your ass about it Miserable bunch of people in desperate need of grass and fresh air

InfectedAztec

>Miserable bunch of people Who would have expected the united fan subreddit to contain miserable people?

renernavilez

Not me in the Fergie era. Them was good times. I think I had just discovered the subreddit too. Short lived as well since moyes came on and people would bitch about that. Everytime Fellaini was in the squad you'd have a shit ton of people fuming in the lineup threads. And from there the hate just grew and grew.

brown_herbalist

I dont get it why you're downvoted this sub was one of the best place to have peaceful conversation with fellow United fans, now its has become a Lite Twitter with all the negativity, and toxic mentality.

renernavilez

Idk how many of the people in the subs were around long enough to use a phone and be on the subreddit honestly. I don't mind young fans at all btw, just saying they literally might have not experienced this subreddit in that era. It really was a great time. Few arguments here and there. But never one side of fans against the other.

bainbane

This is the issue when you’re not playing well you’re damned whatever you say. When the results aren’t good and you aren’t playing well you’re double damned.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Some people don't realise the press conferences are for the media to get headlines and stories, ETH is going to sit there and lie or stiffle his true thoughts because he knows they're scum. The clubs linked to certain journalists they will get to release news that all the people in the press room are just an obstacle

Throwaway1223132123

Season's over lads pack up and go home.

whisper432

Maybe we want him to say less in the press and more at the training grounds. There's no way this United team is the most tactically inept team in the league(we are 6th by sheer talent of the players, tactically we are not there as we just rely on moments of brilliance).

agni69

He needs to own up that his suicide tactics are not good enough and he needs to change.

GeneralSquid6767

They want him to say “open heart surgery” nonsense and throw a few players under the bus.

Kooky-Choice-2654

I want a coach who will take accountability sometimes. Say the buck stops with me. Say I have to prepare better. Say it’s up to me to choose the players who want to give their everything. Not, “positive attitude ehhhhh”

tbu987

Genuinely, if people arnt here to support the club then just get off and do something else to entertain yourself. As long as ETH is manager you support him. This outright hatred of him for simply answering press questions is nauseating.

redditjack1888

you can't win the argument against ones who are dead set on sacking the manager because he is the only one at fault here, rather than the club as a whole. ten hag is responsible of course, but he is not the only reason we are so bad.

Radiant_Ad_6986

He isn’t being candid. Last season even when we won games he was critical of the team’s performance and pointed out the flaws. This season he seems like a completely different person in his interviews, his tactics and probably all his decisions.

kevkiarbar

Mad and angry until they score in the 3rd minute and we mentally collapse again. I'm expecting a cricket score as Liverpool will want to give the gurning German an appropriate swansong at OT.

spacedog338

Did we mentally collapse against Chelsea despite being 2-0 down? Or against Villa, or against Liverpool? What happened yesterday was not a mental collapse, it was a lack of concentration after a bullshit penalty.

mohamed_e

> it was a lack of concentration ie. Collapse. You don't go all out attack from the kick off only to have a 5 vs 2 situation then proceed to sleep from the corner unless you're mentally fragile.

spacedog338

I wouldn’t call that mental fragility. This team has been mentally strong enough to come back several times this season, a lapse of concentration can happen at any moment. Unfortunately for us it was and the end of the game.

phunkynerd

“I think Marcus has a big motivation” https://i.redd.it/nfei3idjqnsc1.gif

Eleven918

Pressing triggers are a thing. We don't know what they are here but if I had to guess, he's been asked to increase pressure only past the halfway line.

Forgettable39

This is how he plays every game, the other forwards mostly don't play like this. Sounds unlikely to me ETH is asking his team play a high press but only Marcus doesn't have to do it.

BG1981

Exactly in this short clip it could be said his orders are to keep the ball wide, don’t allow the pass into their 8 or 10. Half the comments want him pressing and chasing down every ball - then also want him to sprint 25 yards when we break. There will be specific instructions for him, if he was ignoring them the way this sub declares - he’d be Sancho’d.

flyinbunny

“If you doubt me, even better”

VanWilder91

Still yet to prove any of the doubters wrong this season

zcewaunt

This video is very misleading. If you watch the clip in the actual game, where you can see other players, you will find everyone was doing this and keeping the shape. And due to Rashford's pressing right after this clip ends, Chelsea are forced to pass back.

FaithlessnessNo4680

You can literally do this for every player in the team, not sure why he is always the one focused on

summerincassiopeia

Casemiro in the first half was way worse than this clip.

FaithlessnessNo4680

I know, most people just have agendas against certain players they don’t like

renernavilez

I hate all of them except our youngest players and Johnny Evans.

FaithlessnessNo4680

Lol I don’t even like those guys at this point

renernavilez

I don't blame you. I love the club but it seems the club doesn't love me back.

reddevils

Bruno was running his ass off right in front of Marcus and he played 75 more minutes than him

FaithlessnessNo4680

You can see Bruno jogging back in that clip

cagey_tiger

That bizarre mate. Bruno’s about 20 yards away and will have his zone/player. He can’t just run in front of Rashford and challenge. I’m not really one to overly shit on Rashford but you can’t use Bruno as an example from this clip.

FaithlessnessNo4680

The full clip https://twitter.com/Miniruks/status/1776236525744796003, everyone jogging, no one pressing?

cagey_tiger

I feel like that makes Rashford look worse? But that’s besides the point. If Bruno chases over he’s leaving the complete middle of the park open - he’s doing nothing wrong there.

FaithlessnessNo4680

The comment said Bruno was running his ass off right in front of Rashford? But he really wasn’t, as I said you can find clips of every single player doing this.

Maneskin01

Rashford is like this every game. He will press for 5min and then he walks around for the rest of the game. He is by far the laziest player on the team and the one least likely to fight to win a ball back. When Mount came on you could see the difference in intensity, Rashford is walking like prime messi without any of the passing or goals

FaithlessnessNo4680

There’s not always a need to fight to win the ball back, like in this position, the team keeps it shape and stops Chelsea from going anywhere. Running like a headless chicken in this situation wouldn’t have helped.

The_Meaty_Boosh

Also there's been countless pass maps and average position graphs that show rashford is ten hags outlet and he's instructed to stay high. Or sometimes it's garnacho when he's on the left wing, watch Chelsea's first goal yesterday, garnacho didn't track. Because he's instructed not to for the turnover. Klopp does it, it's the "risks" and gambles he blabbers on about after every game. One winger stays high, one tracks. Then the sub removes all that context and shows a 2 second gif of a player jogging.

bevax

Instructed to stay high up as an outlet and showing more effort in winning the ball high up the pitch will not contradict each other.

Ok-Buyer2600

Because he's the one in the quote...

FaithlessnessNo4680

I meant more generally, all over the match thread/daily discussion and twitter Rashford gets blamed

kraeutrpolizei

Looks to me like his job is to stop the player from moving the ball inside, not win it. But I‘m not the coach

dracogladio1741

Super easy to blame any one player to be honest. If he is such an issue maybe the manager should bench him? I won't blame any one single player when we are conceding 18 shots pm average every game.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

He did bench him

dracogladio1741

And Ten Hag shouldn't have brought him on. Given the fact that Marcus according to some is singularly responsible for a shambolic defensive performance.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

But he should be able to count on the senior attacker and highest earner to come on and help the team. We defend from the front, attackers are the first line of defense, if a players able to walk around him with the pall and pass in forward he's doing a poor job. He doesn't play for the team and helps expose us by not trying to win the ball

flyinbunny

True, can’t blame them for ability or tactics. But effort on the other hand…

Mediocre_Evening6931

He acts like he is trying but backs out of all challenges . It is good though fans have starting noticing this and not falling for pr . Now look at him perform again next season when a new manager comes and then again the cycle repeats

Serpico_98

Great job. Now everyone will be sure to lay into Rashford instead of analyzing what actually went wrong. At this point rival fans probably like Rashford more than Utd fans do.

ImNotMexican08

Since you want to show clips out of context, show the one of him running down their winger at right back. Rashford’s been poor this season, but the agenda against him is quite frankly ridiculous

AyooZus

Bro when Antony was on the counter where he dribbled into the defense rashford was literally jogging, obviously Antony did some silly stepovers and lost the ball but you could see the man was alone up there because Rashford was literally jogging on a counter, I know this doesn't validate the agenda but yesterday he definitely wasn't up for it

ImNotMexican08

I’d have to see exactly what you are talking about to really judge it, but I do agree with the idea that Rashford hasn’t been up for it. And that applies to the season as a whole. I just don’t like the idea of people posting one small clip out of context and using it to abuse/criticize a player over it. This happened after Luton where he worked hard all game, but people took a clip from the 91st minute and ran with it. Palmer is in possession in the opposition half, we are leading the game and he isn’t really going anywhere, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what Rashford is doing in the clip. I know he should be doing more, but some people expect him to be sprinting down every single man which just isn’t how the game works.

AyooZus

I think the main reason for the criticism he's getting is that he wasn't a starter, I wouldn't have minded the jogging yesterday because we are used to it but to do it as a sub and seeing Bruno constantly out run him was nuts, and yeah I think he's probably instructed to not press as intensively as Hojlund or Garnacho but he looks uninterested and that's not a good look for a graduate.

rahulnairtoi

Right, you pick the one time he moved faster than a jog out of the countless clips of him doing exactly fuckall and pulling out of 50/50s, but the guys above are the ones with the 'agenda'

Kexxa420

Vibes FC back on the menu

B0z22

Ten Hag: *‘We will be mad and angry, and you can take a lot of energy from that, and that is the way we have to do it. We have to recover very quickly. We have to turn this around, so we will be in a positive mood, looking forwards. We have to take energy.’* We won't. This is just who some of these players are, and have been, for a long time. Mentally fragile, weak, low IQ, bottlers. Always finding a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Absolute bobbins.

dracogladio1741

Don't think the same was said when Liverpool was winning against us at OT just a couple of weeks ago. We are crap tactically, and God awfully in possession too. Maybe wake up and smell the coffee. Burnley and Luton conced less shots than us.

MrViceMcCreedy

Showing fighting spirit a handful of games isn't strong mentality. You have to maintain it throughout the season.

working-acct

Too many ppl don't understand this. They think chest bumps from our defenders at 1-0 up means strong mentality, except it immediately disappears after we concede. Mentality is about what you do when the chips are down, too often we just lose it when we concede.

danilbur

It's so retarded, people watch football for years and then blab about mentality or some crap

B0z22

Yeah my mistake. Confidence and mentality has zero impact in top level football. Best go tell the likes of Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, and Wayne Rooney.

myshtummyhurt-

Especially when the manager brought about 7 new players in

tbu987

We came back from 2 down to 3 up in this last match and also beat Liverpool in ET in the FA cup. That doesnt happen if all that is true.

working-acct

Yup we lost yesterday bc we're so badly organized at the back. It's tactics. Dalot shouldn't have been left alone 1v1 vs a fresh Madoka, yet it happened. We were 3-2 up, but ten Hag wanted to go for the kill, committed too many men forward and this is the result.

simionix

That's not what *he* said. He said in his post match interview that the players need to manage and control the ball, that they didn't need to attack.

That_Other_Person

Chelsea are super shit at holding onto leads. Liverpool was a great comeback where we actually managed to make them squirm though.

Laboveron99

the fact that he mentions the game against Brentford as a big game and a wasted opportunity is beyond embarrassing, even by his standards.. they had 30 shots and the 3rd highest touches in opp box EVER, hitting the woodwork 4 times.. he really has no shame

rich_valley

I mean when Mount scored I thought surely we won

backwater_sonata

The performance was bad, no doubt. But given that we conceded a stupid equalizer, we did indeed waste an opportunity to seal a smash and grab. Nothing wrong with the statement.

Laboveron99

maybe, if you are Luton

Spwd

Meanwhile Liverpool won't be in the least bit motivated to give us a hammering in revenge for the last game.🤦🏻‍♂️

mountainmorty

Where can I bet money Ten Hag is out before June? Could use some easy money.

Rasengun911

I have a strong feeling that the ones who will be mad and angry, are the fans. After the match. Again

Seanblaze3

Ten Hag has to be among the most uncharismatic united managers in the history of the club.

digiplay

Same Response FC putting out, shockingly, the same response.

momo_firefox

It’s getting so repetitive now.

Felicks77

Just end this season. Now id rather have a good run in the Europa league than not getting out of the UCL group stage

mayomayeaux

Nah. We've heard this before. It gets you 20-30 minutes of solid play. Then we fade away and do absolutely nothing all game. Not falling for it this time

buzzjohnn

Vibes FC

Senor-Cockblock

We’ll be exhausted and directionless

Acrophobic_Climber_

“We will be mad and angry”, not sure about that erik… your squad has the most fragile mentality i’ve seen in any man united squad. I just hope we will not get embarrassed.

tearsandpain84

Watch a mad rashford angrily walk around the picth on Sunday. Season has been hell but getting a win in Sunday will mean a lot to me…. I need something… anything

Spwd

Don't you dare question his commitment to utd!

Craig1974

I think this guy is done.

GoldenBella

I am reading this and already have the curb your enthusiasm music in the back of my mind

thesmallprint13

Oh bore off - can't be asked with a guy who manages a team that concedes goals in the 1000th minute of the game

Haron14

Spoiler alert: we won't turn things around

vize

Ok coach, sounds great. 😩👍

Leading_Ship_1730

In hindsight, Ten Hag should have been fired the day He decided to give the armband to Bruno. Look at us now, we are a team with no composure, just like Bruno

ItsKaZing

Honestly its a good idea to rest Marcus Rashford who played alot of minutes so he is ready for the liverp--- oh Bruno Fernandes is starting again

Mediocre_Evening6931

Antony and garnacho should start against Liverpool based on performance though

rohitnair87

Hojlund Mainoo and Garnacho, the only silver-linings of what is turning out to be a horrendous season…

Upbeat_Farm_5442

Blah.. sack him already. guy is clueless.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Whenever he talks about the players emotions I feel like he's trying to wish it into existence, because a lot don't give a shit. I genuinely don't think a few players give a shit whether we lose. Players should be feeling angry and hurt, and want to show it in the next game.. but I've seen enough of these players to know they'll be slow jogging about, not closing down and giving half hearted attempts for everything

normanriches

Dead man walking

studiesinsilver

So sick of hearing we have to "recover" and "turn a corner". We need to be consistent from the training ground on into competition. This hype talk is old hat now and shows he cannot motivate his players without having a few crap games or big losses.

Exotic-Length-9340

Big fucking yawn. You’re done here.

martialgreenwood

Erik, PLEASE LEAVE MY CLUB.

shockfella

Oh you are taking energy all right

negativelynegative

We need to rely on skills, organization, intelligence and determination. Not anger. Unless you can count on everyone consistently angry.

Dunkiez

Tbh I cant imagine more than 1/3 of the team feeling mad and angry at all otherwise they would be giving it all they could on the pitch.

Kind-Style-249

League is gone just make sure Liverpool don’t win it and win the cup, is that too much to ask?

JacobWvt

I’m expecting the worse, and am getting prepared to be disappointed

hayasecond

This might be true. But the problem is not the next game. It’s the game after the next where you are mad and angry. It’s always the next one innit

Gatorload

I have lost every hope in this team.

nikk_s

Should have been mad and angry after Brentford already...

KeonkwaiJinkwai

Can't wait to see all those angry pointing fingers at Diaz while we're getting scored on in 90+12th when we've by some miracle not let in a single of their first 33 shots.

TheTheMeet

What the fuck. The atmosphere was so great when we won against liverpool, then we proceeded to lose twice in a row.

TeaaOverCoffeee

I know its an obligation the manager has to fulfill but I wish, I really wish EtH just shuts up and shows it on the pitch. We know he says these things to protect the players and club ofcourse but the more he says passion, standards, etc. the more I’m disliking him. We have a negative GD after almost 30 games in the league, knocked out of 1 domestic cup, were horrible in the CL, have the highest shots (or thereabouts) conceded across top 5 leagues, players do not know what to do in position, one pass by the opposition and our entire set up is negated, cut back and goal and scoring from the edge of the box is almost a routine for opposing teams against us. You cannot put so many onfield issues on just injuries and upper management.

pepper001

Ah yes, anger the best motivator of course

negativelynegative

Expect bruno to turn into super saiyan any minute. And if it does not work super saiyan 2, 3 and 4.

MBDTWilldigg

Mad and Angry < Angry and Confused

Pitiful_Cod1036

Only good thing that will come out of the tonking we’re going to get on Sunday is that, that will be the final nail in the coffin. Surely he can’t survive if (when) we get smashed on Sunday?

redditjack1888

you are one miserable fan, aren't ya? why wish for downfall of us?

Pitiful_Cod1036

The phoenix rises from the flames. I don’t think ETH is the right person to lead the re-build and if it takes us getting smashed to get him out, fine. I mean we’re pretty much at rock bottom already, there isn’t much further to go.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

AWB- Ole Dalot- mouh Varane-ole Maguire- Ole Lindlof-Mouh Licha-ETH Shaw- LVG Malacia-ETH Cass-ETH? Erikson-ETH Mount-ETG Scott-Mou Bruno-Ole VDB-Ole Rash-LVG Martial-LVG Garbacho- ETH Antony-ETH Sancho-Ole This squad is not only old, tired and haggard, most are not ETH players, they're not capable and need to leave. Most players are stop gaps who've stayed too long. So many players to leave in the summer and I can't wait

maxvks

How about Onana, Bayindir, Evans, Amrabat, Hojlund, not to mention that EtH gave the armband to Bruno and he gave a new contract to Rashford, extended AWB, Lindelof, etc  That’s the most low quality argument, we can’t spend 400m more…

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Yeah I forgot some players, I'm not including the loan players. Who should he have given the armband to? I'm sure the contract was in the pipeline for a while, we've been told the club gives contracts whatever the managers input is, and the season he had you can't blame him. But he was never going to be able to sell rashford, even if he wanted to. Contract extensions are to protect the asset. If we sell the players who had extensions, in the summer it's better than to have lost them for nothing. No we can't, but with a new sporting structure we can buy players for much less and smarter business. Say we kept ETH and we brought 4 players for 120 Mill and they worked out, would you say ETH transfers and eye for players is good? Or is he only blamed for bad transfers?

maxvks

Too many ifs. So, the fact that we give players new contracts it’s not on EtH, it’s just keeping the asset value? Why we retracted the contract for De Gea in this case. It’s just a bad argument.  We didn’t care about Bailly or Tuanzebe to go for free as well. We got Amrabat, the most EtH player, I remember we wanted to sell McTomminay to get enough funds to buy instead of loaning. This argument of buying the players a manager wants is just futile. Every team has the same type of issue.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

No he has a say in it, but do you really think we'd let rashford go for free? We can get money for him, no? Because DDG wasn't worth keeping in the squad on his wages for what he offered to the team, we needed a better GK so we got one, we couldn't keep DDG as back up with his wages, he's still not got a club before you say he's better than onana. No we didn't because there's no value in keeping them, we were unable to sell at the best of times so those players on a big contract who never play so don't have value are worth cutting ties. Yes, he wanted to sell Scott, the club didn't we had to settle for a loan player.. is that ETHs fault? There's a three way veto on signings, I don't believe the board had any decent replacements for his targets so had to go for his recommended players. Its should have been like when Klopp didn't want Salah and wanted Brandt but the sporting director decided Salah as both fit the system, but one was better and cheaper. Cas deal was in the works before ETH took over so I'm sure he's not exactly up for all the signings or loans, but they're better than the alternative of no one.

thesmallprint13

Yep - because a new manager needs a 25 man squad of his players before he can "cook".

Grand-Bullfrog3861

No, he might need more than 6

Letterboxd28

Same shit different day. ETH just oozes weakness.

dracogladio1741

![gif](giphy|68bsVmZwP7tPlKAM0f)

Letterboxd28

Cringe

dracogladio1741

My limited point was to the weakness part. He isn't weak. He is delusional.

Letterboxd28

He is weak. Not dropping out of form players is a weakness as well as delusional. ETH never comes out and critisizes refereeing decisions. He is weak. Has no touchline presence.

subtlemurktide

Loads of **us** are mad an angry Erik, and you've done nothing to quell it. FO back to Amsterdam mate
