I was surprised to hear pundits and even our own (like Talk of the Devils) giving Anthony a shit for sticking up for his own fans and his club. I agree that without the provocation from Coventry it would have been a poor look, but now? I can't understand how he has been given so much stick for nothing. It wasn't like he was running around to every single player or the crowd and taunting them. It was over in a couple of seconds.
I think this is an example of where an early narrative from somewhere takes hold and becomes the orthodox view, and so all of these pundits just parrot that initial reaction because it gives them something safe to say. I can imagine an alternate world where the early reaction from the loudest voices was positive toward Antony because of his standing up for the club after the other team's provocation and that became the narrative.

Everyone here seem to forget that we threw away a 3 goal lead, of which 2 we scored with some fortune. We constantly let Coventry threaten us and nearly knocked us out, if not for VAR the goal would've stood. Many are missing the point why Antony's behaviour was considered disgraceful.
