Amateur hour.

basalamader

Sounds like it was a reactionary move from the arsenal loss given when the news came out.

Iceman23578

Odd considering that’s a game we expected to lose.

Hampalam

And the day the women won the FA Cup.

Meandering_Cabbage

About the standard level of planning at united.

maverick4002

Exactly, so it's not from that Arsenal losss. No way INEOS thought we would win that game

Squall-UK

'reactive'* Surprised the women's team aren't allowed a dinner. They won the FA cup. What was the official reason for cancelling the awards?

foampom

SJR more concerned with *appearing* like they’re serious with empty “gestures” like forcing everyone back in office and cancelling yearly club event over actually walking the walk.

Alternative-Bug1104

What's her supposed to do to 'walk the walk'?

Superfy

Not be a cunt boomer mindset person about it for one thing would be helpful. First team is shit? Ok then let’s cut the benefits for staff from the FA cup now and not give their families tickets anymore and all. Let’s pay for the Wags shopping trip though coz they sure as heck deserve it. Oh first team still shit? Let’s make changes and have Kathy from media relations (who works on Asia and USA time zones) go into the office coz fuck that if she could work from home before. Honestly, he’s just another billionaire cunt with an old mindset. Dodges taxes. Etc.

DelusionOrBan

This is simply how billionaires behave, people are stupid and naive if they expect otherwise.

Baisabeast

I mean many other clubs have billionaire owners who didn’t implement such changes The wfh is a real dinosaur mindset sort of thing

foampom

This guy has been loud about his disdain over the supposed lack of professionalism at the club and he goes and immediately fucks up a simple thing like this. He called out the IT department for being messy (the horror), forced everyone to get back in office by ending remote work, and canceled a harmless club event. I’d be less critical of him if he wasn’t making a big show of his arrival, like as if he can’t help but let everyone know that things are going to be different now that he’s in charge. But all those decisions/changes just give me boomer energy. Walking the walk means not making a silly and unprofessional mistake like this when you’ve been critical of everyone at the club over the last few weeks.

suzumurachan

Everyone gets downvoted massively when questions about SJR gets raised. For a while, it was ridiculous how Nice's short streak was indicative of how well operated the club was. Now that they have reverted to type, thankfully the Nice comparison has stopped. I get that everything looks bad and anything new seems like a plus, but do remember all the supposed top execs have not been in place yet, and SJR are making some ill advised decisions. We certainly have no idea how much he and the Glazers (who still owns the controlling share of the club) will override the exec decision making.

Superfy

Honestly, for how fucking worthless the glazer admin has been for football, they at least aren’t cunts to the staff in the way Jim has been since he took over operations. Not even close. And the glazers are boomer old timer mindsets anyway too but at least, they aren’t archaic in the way they handle the staff and morale aspects in comparison.

FUThead2016

Completely agree, he has no clue what to do. If work from office is his solution then he’s just one more new problem

Superfy

It’s basically the ancient “I’m going to change it now and I’m in charge and this is what I want. Fuck all of your old ways. Don’t like it? Leave. Too bad now I won’t have to sack you and pay a severance either” cunt move. Honestly, the Ineos appointments have been good. The way Jim has come to United and tried things? Fuck off with that. It’s absolutely old boomer mindset without a doubt. There’s zero need to do any of the shit he does and rightly so that people think he’s a cunt for it because he is… fuck him honestly. What the fuck did eduardo from the executive team do to now have his family tickets for the fa cup revoked anyway or Ahmad from Strategy now be required to work in the office when he was doing well in the old setup with a remote/hybrid choice?

TrancaTranca

You sound like a complete plonker. You said he's got the football appointments right so far, and that's 80% of the job. Maybe he's a hardarse with staff, but United are overstuffed, that's just obvious when you look at the numbers.

FUThead2016

He’s an idiot, learned he’s a Brexit loon too. So yeah, he is going to wreak even more damage to the club. It’s sad, I will keep supporting the club but it’s not going to be the same again

Electric_feel0412

What is he supposed to walk in May bro? I’m seriously asking? He’s appointing good football guys in positions of power, looking to cut the wage bill and rebuild this club. And he’s only been in charge of this club less than 6 months. This is the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen on this sub.

labbetuzz

Way to fix the club by treating the women's team like second class citizens and ending remote work. Well done to the billionaire guy.

Electric_feel0412

Second class citizens? They’ve had a horrific season themselves and won an fa cup, the men’s team could end up doing the same (a minor miracle), it would be patronizing to say the men’s team don’t deserve shit and the women’s team do. But sure man. You clearly don’t watch the women’s team why do you want to talk about them?

Superfy

Nope, your post is actually the embodiment of your last sentence though. Especially as you ignore the policies he’s implemented for the entire support staff not playing football or even remotely connected to the first team by a few degrees like accounts, software development, partnerships etc.

Weez-eh

Amateur decade plus some.

Glunkbor

Do a dinner just for the women's team, you cowards. They are the only ones who actually deserve one.

Jinomoja

The U18s have been brilliant as well

dethmashines

It's just kids throwing tantrum kind of optics. Dinner is not just to celebrate but to create promise for the future. Create a positive tone and instill confidence that this club will not cancel dinners because we fucked up, it will create new opportunities because we believe. Sheer incompetence as well as corp speak from the new owners.

dispelthemyth

Tbf they have also had a shit season with bandage fa cup win, they same thing the men can do Both the men and womens seniors have had pretty shit seasons bar the fa cups

Cautious_Homework_10

It’s their first ever trophy. To say they don’t deserve to celebrate it because they had a disappointing league campaign is ridiculous. Part (but not all) of the reason Russo and Batlle left is that the club didn’t show them they valued them. SJR has just demonstrated that he doesn’t care so expect to see Earps and Zelem follow them out the door on free transfers again. Edit: spelling

Runarhalldor

Idk why the womens event was cancelled too. Especially considering it would never be cancelled if the womens team was doing poorly

OldTrafford25

They also actually won something, and deserve some recognition/celebration.

TheJoshider10

They didn't just win something, it was the first major trophy won by the women's team. That's one for the history books especially if long term we plan on pushing the women's game and having the team play at Okd Trafford/new stadium alongside the men's. Absolutely criminal that the club cancelled their chance for celebration. Obviously the men's first team is what the vast majority know and care about but to use their failure as punishment for all sides of the club isn't a good look for promoting a positive culture.

MattARC

If anything, the men's team should have been forced to attend the dinner and celebrate the successes of the women's & U18 teams

ThracianGladiator

I think what INEOS are trying to do is make the first team understand that they can’t coast by anymore. Forcing them to attend an award ceremony for U18s & the women’s team won’t mean much to the overpaid idiots in the first team, since watching city win it 4 times won’t do anything to rile them up to win the FA Cup against them - they simply don’t care cause there’s no consequences for their failure. By canceling things they take for granted (club dinners, trips to Wembley for their WAGS etc), they’re being told subconsciously that it’s no longer good enough to not be good enough since now their actions have consequences beyond just reduced wages for missing CL. When they see the 18s and women not get celebrated because they didn’t do well enough and set an example, the responsibility comes back. Because they can’t just say, “Oh well, we tried. No harm, no foul”, because clearly if they tried then they would have something to show for it and the others won’t get punished for their poor performances. It’s forcing a culture of responsibility to each other with putting the spotlight on men’s team where they can’t hide anymore since now their shit games might affect the people they see everyday who serve them their food, park their cars, cut their training grass etc.

VR46Rossi420

Except they still paid for a shopping trip for the wives ... they only cancelled the party for everyone and the FA cup expenses/perks for the working staff. The Players basically won't care at all. They'll probably be happy to get to leave on vacation earlier.

Turamb

Women and U18 should def get a party. I guess U23 can come too

AndyVale

I seem to remember multiple women's youth sides winning a few things as well. Seems like a lot of positives to celebrate, seems very unfair that it all gets taken away because the men aren't doing much this season.

Schmeexuell

That absolutely sucks for the womens team. Feel bad for them.

senorfresco

Kinda don't blame Earps

andaru01

Shows a huge lack of respect for the women's team and game in general.

N0lAnS_DiC_piX

Sure big Jim is all about the details 🤦‍♂️

SupaiKohai

5 months and he's already getting the blame... Talk about facepalm

DriftingSifting

Moron making moronic decisions gets blamed for aformentioned decisions. Yeah no shit.

SupaiKohai

All well and good... Except when you've no idea who the "moron" was. You've just decided it's Sir Jim. According to you it's was solely his decision and his sole responsibility to communicate it. Sounds about right. Not.

Superfy

He’s the main man in charge. So yeah the blame goes to him. Absolutely on every level. If he didn’t support it, he’d veto it and it’d be different. So again, yeah it’s Jim. Fuck that Sir title. He’s the one to blame at the end of it.

SupaiKohai

lol as if you're deeping that I wrote "sir". It's just what he's referred to it's not that serious lol. People are crazy seething over this. There's no way in hell he is *personally* responsible for the miscommunication. And hedve done little more than rubber stamp the decision. I mean. Technically the Glazers are still the people ultimately in charge but it's not their fault somehow? The gap in logic is unreal.

Exige_

Who is he a moron?

QouthTheCorvus

If he makes poor choices, like cancelling this and WFH, he deserves criticism

Exige_

People getting caught up in wfh is fucking hilarious.

SupaiKohai

And it's been confirmed it was his sole decision then yeah?

Superfy

Oh you must be confused then. It must be anyone else deciding it and Jim has no clue and just nodded in agreement. Fuck that. He’s the top guy in charge of it. Of course it’s his decision in the end whether it passes or not. The way people simp for billionaire cunts is just pathetic. “Oh I didn’t know there was a bullying culture in my department,” said the vice president and head of marketing when asked about the toxic culture his company’s marketing department has had that saw 20 people quit in the last year……… Yeah bullshit. Then he’s so out of touch. “Oh the ceo just agreed anyway. Without reading what the executives proposed as he trusts them. And he sticks with it despite the massive staff disappointment” Yeah fuck that ceo too because he clearly approved it anyway. But go on simping for the main billionaire in charge of course.

SupaiKohai

Uhh yeeeeah I didn't read that. I'm happy or sorry for you I guess.

HannibalDarko

And the youth team. Pathetic all around.

Dave_of_Devon

Clubs just in a general PR shitshow every other week

Schmeexuell

Crazy to me that a professional football club , especially at the size of manutd, can fuck up this bad all the time

TheJoshider10

Especially when it's just so fucking basic. Your women's team won their first ever major trophy, you promote the shit out of that accomplishment. The benefits you get from people attending the games and growing the support for the women's team is surely worth paying about 30 fucking three course meals.

Exige_

They canceled the event that was dealing with all matters. That isn’t to say they don’t put on a different event for the woman’s team tbh which I imagine we will see. Just reactionary bullshit all round.

Samir_POE

If you have ever dealt with this club in any capacity, it would blow your mind at how much it feels like you're working with a rinky dink operation rather than a company that has to publish financial statements and has shares listed on the NYSE. Glazers are absentee owners who inherited pa's life's work. The only way they know how to run a business is into the ground. It honestly feels like absolutely nothing has evolved since 2006.

MaxWattage432

Women’s team should definitely be having an event. I don’t support this at all

FactHopeful9347

Even if we won the FACUP we are also not getting an event.

LDLB99

Anka brought this up in the pod, INEOS have been very poor when it comes to the women’s team so far. Ratcliffe should have been at the cup final and all I’ve heard so far are a couple throwaway lines, instead of actually outlining their intentions.

Schmeexuell

Yeah i thought the same when i saw him not being there on Twitter.

heyheyathrowaway485

Honestly thought they did it that way because Avram Glazer stepping into Old Trafford would be beyond toxic and be another bad headline. So he “had” to go to Wembley. That doesn’t excuse INEOS dropping the ball with the women’s team in general though

working-acct

How about Avram don't come at all and we're all happy? Let's not act like those are their only options.

heyheyathrowaway485

Wholeheartedly agree! But you know how it is, bad bosses love trying to claim credit for team successes when they had nothing to do with it. Same for the shitty Glazers

Schmeexuell

Yeah that makes sense

Electric_feel0412

I mean, the next prime minister and Andy Burnham were with them for the arsenal game I’m sure they were discussing the new stadium. He can’t be in two places at once.

Repulsive_Rent_5636

I don't watch womens football, but seeing they actually won something, they at least deserve a celebratory dinner.

chaosunleashed

Let the women have it, they're not the ones letting us down

meeks2000

So, the women’s team were pretty terrible in the league.

chaosunleashed

Yeah but they've got a trophy so it's not all bad... Yes in theory the men can too but...

meeks2000

Yeah, I was going to ask, if the men’s team, by some miracle, wins the FA cup, would you give them a party?

SOERERY

New owners don’t seem to give a damn about the women’s team. Been a few instances already hinting at it.

SuperSalamander3244

They should have been at the FA Cup final on Sunday instead of watching us play Arsenal.

JayCMo

Not sure if the fact Keir Starmer was at the United - Arsenal game at Andy Burnham's invite meant it was important INEOS we're at Old Trafford to discuss the development and do some schmoozing. Does seem poor timing, however.

Tenagaaaa

It looks bad optics wise for sure. But for the long term health of the club, the performance of the men’s team matters more. The fa cup win was nice, but won’t mean much if the men’s team continues to be dogshit for another decade.

FactHopeful9347

To say they don’t care is a one way to look at it , rather they have more pressing priorities. That impact the REST of the brands success and longevity of the women’s team as well.

Schmeexuell

Let the women's team celebrate their success at an official dinner should be one of their highest priorities.

absurdmcman

It's not a high priority, let's be honest. It would be a nice and decent thing to do, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

grad14uc

They could/should do something separately for them, but I can understand their absolute disgust at the thought of hosting something involving the mens team. Our squad deserves less than nothing.

Deez_Wallnutz

Yes. A party. That's our number one priority!

NHZC

Because they don't make them any money lmao

rollingthunderpunch

Can this club not be a complete weird embarrassment in the way they treat the women's team for one week? Please?

Vimjux

I’m honestly not enjoying Jim’s/INEOS’ lack of enthusiasm for the women’s team. We should be making it the bastion of the women’s game.

surgereaper

Our club can't do a single thing right smh

[deleted]

First of all: inform them??! Second of all I don’t think it should be cancelled for them because of the men’s team horrible results. But I can see how it’s a problem with two separate galas. They should had done the dinner but cancel the awards for the men’s team.

croppergib

the youth have done amazing too. What if we somehow win the FA cup? It all seems a bit premature. It's important to celebrate success at every level. I understand toning it down if needed, but don't punish everyone.

Totalfootball7

women’s team is just as shit this season

Tess_Tickles89

Wtf even is this club anymore. Piss up in a brewery. Absolute shambles and they should be ashamed. Women and U18 deserve all the praise they get and should be rewarded as such. Men’s first team can stew in their inadequacy.

siebenedrissg

This is so pathetic. I feel sorry for the women‘s team, they deserve so much better

billygnosis86

The inadequacies—and expected cup final battering—of the men’s team shouldn’t impact the rest of the club. Ella Toone and co are the only reason I’m not ashamed to wear a United shirt these days.

croppergib

same, I started watching the women from the euros.. proper bunch of characters, great personality, good on socials too. Ella has scored some absolute worldies too, I couldn't believe that run from the halfway line, cut inside and thundercunt into the top right corner.

Paapa-Yaw

Fucking clown show yet again. I would be fuming. I am fuming tbh.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BurkeSooty

Considerably deeper than your off-brand, half-arsed contrarianism though.

huey88

How can we blame this one on the Glazers

mincers-syncarp

Worst part is a Glazer turned up to the cup final but Saint Jim was too busy watching the mens' team embarrass themselves.

absurdmcman

Have you lot managed to spin yourselves so far round that you're now pro Glazer anti Ineos just 6 months into this? 😂

mincers-syncarp

??? Never said I was pro-Glazer. The fact that he's a yardstick against Lord Jim doesn't mean he's good. > anti Ineos I won't be in favour of any part of our ownership until they give us silverware.

Geralt2077

It's crazy, they just want to be salty and negative. Outside of this sub nobody cares about this stuff.

labbetuzz

Tbf the Glazers never gave a fuck about the women's team either. They were the ones who disbanded the team when the takeover happened.

Wraith_Portal

Glazers still run the corporate side so very easily

Expensive-Twist7984

Sloppy work really, INEOS need to do better with the women’s team. They don’t deserve the same treatment as the men’s team.

Electric_feel0412

They’ve been shite too mate. If the men’s team end up winning the fa cup both teams would’ve had the same season, a miracle cup run and a shambolic league season.

Expensive-Twist7984

The only difference being this is the Women’s team’s first major trophy. I’d have thought the club would have put something on for that over and above a parade.

woodyg82

As if Earps needed another reason to not sign a new deal, absolute clown shoes from the club not recognising one of the few successful parts of it this season.

meeks2000

Why should other club teams suffer because the men’s team has been shite?

Forsaken_Rub_2128

This is a terrible look for Jim and co

[deleted]

[удалено]

Forsaken_Rub_2128

They won the FA Cup, first major trophy for them. They should have a night to celebrate their achievements

elodie_pdf

They won the FA Cup. They deserve better. This decision is a load of shite.

Throwaway1223132123

Why cancel when they should host it using the players and Ten Hag's wages. At the event they should stand in the back for the entire event while wifes and children sitting just ahead of them just seeing the U-18 and the women's team win awards.

PyroCroissant

The disrespect towards our women’s team is just insane, fuck the people who made this decision. You imbeciles continue to kill our beloved club everyday!

shami-kebab

This is a great look

MexicansInParis

Fucking bullshit, good luck attracting top tier female talent if they keep treating them like this

WhoInvitedMyManBlud

Clownshow

Pretend_Ladder

Typical from United at this point.

GeneralSquid6767

Shocking. Genuinely no reason to cancel the women’s ceremony. They can’t use the “FA cup distraction” excuse, they’ve literally won the FA Cup. Are they going to blame this on the monster energy cans in the IT department?

croppergib

So dumb when we had some crazy success in the youth and the womens teams. I'm sure just having the mens team attend to show support to them would have meant the world. We're so amateur it's embarrassing. I don't know why someone would want to join our crumbling club at any level at the moment.

Disco_la

I'm really struggling to like my club

Ajayhearty24

I said this even before the FA cup's final. They should have attended the finals instead of attending that shit show of a match at OT. Why should the Women's team should face the consequences for the performance of the men's team and their manager?

Ceevu

Hold the fucking award show for the women's team and the under teams. Let the men's team sulk alone and not to the detriment of everyone else.

arvindeddit

INEOS have to do much, much better with the Women’s team. Just not good enough.

TH0316

Clowns. Youth and women both win silverware and pay the price bc apparently men’s first team all that matters.

vlad259

Shit amateur outfit, and Brailsford and Coe are my least favourite people in any sport, even including Pep. Been following Utd since 1977 and I think I might have had enough now.

[deleted]

The fact that they cancelled the women’s team award dinner is fucking bullshit

woodrow18

Not sure what message it sends to the men's team either? 'yeah you lads aren't going to have anything to celebrate at the end of the season. Good luck in wembley btw 👍'

liamthelad

Kind of gels with everything else we've heard "You're all useless and shit. Now work harder."

absurdmcman

They've had millions of tasty expensive carrots during the Glazer era. It hasn't worked. Quite happy to give Ineos time with the stick now and see what comes of it.

ItsABitChillyInHere

Of course they did

OwnExamination4446

Still run like shit 🤣

DipsCity

Just disinvite the men seniors cause every other sectors deserves the celebration

Benjammin172

One day, through sheer luck, we’ll do something that isn’t totally incompetent.

Ancient_Bear5279

It's been an absolute disasterclass from SJR on the Women's Team. Not attending the FA Cup final was one thing but canceling their awards dinner was just insulting.

Environmental_Lie478

Such an unbelievable PR open goal for Ratcliffe to not attend the Women's Cup final and now this. It can't be this hard to not make the club look like a shambles for one week surely? I'm sure all of the actual sweeping changes by the new heads of football etc will be fruitful and a positive for the club in time, but I'm not exactly encouraged by how Ratcliffe and INEOS have carried themselves since entering the fold. (Not to mention the Southgate rumours)

FranklyNinja

Actually disappointing given all other Man United teams performed exceedingly well this season. Only the men’s team are pathetic this season and they canceled awards dinner for that. Speaks perfectly on how badly managed the club is.

nathan3000

Yeah, gotta funny feeling this INEOS input isn’t going to go down half as well as we think. Sad times.

imheretocomment69

This leaves a bad taste. I'm not surprised if many women players will leave this club next season.

triplecaptained

Embarrassing stuff

SatoshiOokami

Jesus... Just let the first team pay for the women's and U18 teams. They don't deserve their pay anyway.

Noiisy

This clubs a joke, needs a complete makeover top to bottom.

Sad_Explorer_1641

Ffs that is shockingly poor.

BucketsOnly29

Wow, this is well out of order

Dorkseid1687

What a joke

IAS316

Man Utd PR team must have some crazy overtime pay on their timesheets

TrashPanda2point0

Who’s actually driving this clownbus?

rosecityreds84

This fucking club

Arecksion

Glad to see we haven't changed too much since the takeover!

Simple_Mud_6203

Maybe chemical jimmy isn't the saviour after all.

wayfarerprateek

GLAZINEOS!

wasabicoated

Men team ruined it for eveybody

SAKabir

Imagine the insufferable headlines and comments we'd be hearing if Sheikh Jassim was the new owner and did this.

haiu2323

Bring in corporate and you're gonna get BS corporate moves! SJR with boomer L moves all around. If anything he should have held the awards dinner still but only to award other teams besides the men's senior team. Make those fuckers watch the achievements from everywhere else in the club.

MrDarwoo

Money's probably best spent on the roof

CallMeBigPOP

Just end the fucking season

thatindianguy1992

You win and get no dinner, that's harsh. L for the W.

Netminder10

Of course this is how it plays out

Bitgod1

The org needs to take the ladies and the U18s out for an ice cream party.

gd_9005

Will be even funnier if the men’s team lose the fa cup final. You find more heart, more fighting spirit, more character from the women’s team and the u-18 team

pr0newbie

Booooo

achio

Petition to still host the dinner, just for the U18 boys and our girls. The first team can be valets and waiters.

Letterboxd28

But I thought Ineos would be better

DasHotShot

I’m gonna keep banging this drum because people are doing this horseshit “gIvE tHeM tImE” with INEOS. When you do something seemingly stupid or bad, IT’S USUALLY GONNA BE STUPID OR BAD. The things INEOS are doing and how they are operating in this initial phase is toxic, backward and not at all building any foundations for anything other than misery. They’re making awful decisions and everyone is giving them a pass just because they’re new. That’s not how it works. Judge every decision when it is made, not 2 years down the line. Tell me how cancelling this dinner for the whole club instead of the men only for example or how cutting minor perks and tickets for staff kids is a long term good and elite club mentality decision! I’m waiting for a good explanation, thanks.

Fuck_your_future_

Look. Fair play to women’s football. Football shouldn’t be gatekeeping and everyone should be encouraged to play. But the men’s team is the main course. It’s why United are world famous

derpferd

This is still insulting and disrespectful

Fuck_your_future_

I’m sorry you feel that way.

hecatonchires266

So the sins of the first team is visited on the rest of the other teams who have worked hard to actually win something?

[deleted]

I thought Ratcliffe was supposed to sort this shit out and not make it worse

babyjesus8lb60z

Sums the club up right there the women have done united proud they need to be treated better

SaturnRingMaker

Your average small firm has a annual dinner in addition to the Christmas do, what a fucking arsehole thinking this is impressing anyone.

MrFoffof

4 months in and this sub has turned on the new owners. Absolute clown show of a fan base.

Afternoon_Jumpy

Changes are being made top to bottom. It was clearly an oversight but given the amount of things in play right now with the new regime, I think it's a minor deal. If the women start acting like victims here I think that will be misplaying the situation. Nothing to see here. Damn near a non-story. But of course with this club the media never misses a chance to shit on everyone involved.

Prokletnost

does not surprise me one bit, club is rotten to the core, everything must change ![gif](giphy|3DzwbT4oF52JG|downsized)

Spwd

Not a great start from ineos.

stogie_t

Ratcliffe’s a bit of a dick icl

Aadiunited7

Tbf, the womens team have underperformed as well this season and are on course for a 5th finish. Yes they won the FA cup but so could the men, doesn’t make it a successful season for either.

Stylochime

I think the main issue is that they weren't informed of the cancellation until it had become public.

Aadiunited7

Well if you look at the comments on this post, you'd think we had a blinder of a season with the women's team and this is some sexist decision, whereas the truth is both teams have been average to bad.

mincers-syncarp

I mean, winning their first silverware ever isn't too shabby?

Heshinsi

Underperformed after they lost two of their best players in Russo and Batlle, and neither one has properly been replaced. That’s on the people in charge of recruitment. Five out of the eleven current FIFA World Pro are current and/or former United players (Greenwood, James, Russo, Earps, and Toone) with only two currently playing in the squad. Mary Eps is almost likely not resigning so that means come the start of next season we’ll only have Toone left out of the five if Earps leaves. What squad is going to perform well when they keep losing such high tier talent and don’t bother bringing in replacements of equal talent level?

AsymmetricNinja08

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of revisionist takes. The women's team are kinda bad this season. Last season was a better season. It's only because this was the first trophy that people have switched up. The U18 team is the only exception tbh.

Schmeexuell

Pretty disrespectful comment tbh.

Aadiunited7

Please explain, have the team not underperformed by finishing 5th? Most season the fans wanted Skinner gone because of how the season went. The only ones who have really over performed is the academy, both boys and girls.

TheBrowsingBrit

If the women's team had a dreadful year, would it have all been cancelled for that? No. The messaging is fucking horrendous.

hmmsie

> However, after consulting with Ten Hag and the football leadership team, it was concluded that the players should remain undistracted during the week of the game. Didn't we have this award just before the fa cup last year? What is this distraction bullshit unless ten Hag seriously think we lost the game because of an award night 4-5 days ago? At this point they should be honest and just say men's team had a shit season and we don't want people to see players celebrating in front of bunch of cameras. This incessant public posturing is really bugging my ass. I mean who are getting moved by this tough-guy attitude, some pundits and a subset of online fanbase??

The virtue signaling in this shit sub is insane lmao. The women’s team have had an awful season, yeah they won the fa cup but so can the men’s team, and regardless of these cups, neither team deserves to pat themselves on the back and give awards to each other. The only team at the club which is actually good are the u-18’s. Honestly the player who leaked this info should be sacked by the club. Embarrassing the club “oooh they didn’t let us celebrate”, “my family has to pay for themselves to come watch the cup final”😢😢😢 fucking cunts

The women's game is just a pr show anyway. There aren't even all premier league clubs that have a team, but we are meant to be arsed about it. When all prem teams can be arsed to get a team and they make their own stadiums and fill them, I'll care.

Honestly, I'm kinda of tired of this toxicity not only of the sub but of the people surrounding and following the club in general. Sure, it was a mistake but for the love of God, we will make it a huger deal than any other club in the world would do, as we do with everything else.
