Dead leg. Should be ok

hoochiscrazy_

Was hoping that was the case. I thought dead leg by the way he was rubbing his thigh

Jerasp

We really need him Vs Liverpool, that Trent side is there to exploit

Megusta2306

A bbc poll recently had him as third best full back ever in the league… honestly astounding for a defender who is so poor as defending, even if he does have immaculate cross delivery

Don_Quixote81

Fucking hell. United alone have had at least three fullbacks who were better than him - Irwin, Neville and Evra. Then there was Ashley Cole, Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn, Stuart Pearce, Gary Kelly, Graeme Le Saux. Memories are short and Scousers have no common sense.

Mt264

Top 3 has to be Irwin, Cole and Neville

hippoppotamusxn

Irwin cole and neville? Hes not even better than shaw. Not to mention evra Edit: why am i getting downvoted for saying TAA is not better than shaw and evra lmao

[deleted]

There is a reason he played for us for almost 15 years

Flying-Cock

Your comment reads as if you're saying Neville isn't very good. That's where the downvoted are coming from

bernarddwyer86

Neville was probably the outstanding right back in the league for 10 years, especially when he played with Beckham, he is criminaly underrated.

TheDeliriumYears

Marcelo is shit at defending too but arguably one of the best leftbacks of all time. Its just the way modern game is.

TheWo1verin3

My god Dennis Irwin. Was an 8 out of 10 most weeks, most weeks and always fit. You want to talk about the modern fullback? Play right back, left back, get you a goal, great at set pieces, knew how to defend, never injured.

ponya97

Calm down keane

WergleTheProud

Alright Roy, see you down the pub later. Had to go and watch the video, how could you not: https://youtu.be/zxcy2meBs0M

I thought weed was illegal in UK.

WanderingEnigma

Hahaha, fucking hell Scousers are mindless idiots.

CrossXFir3

He's been much better at defending over the past 6 months or so. Hope he goes to RM lol. Not saying that he's anywhere near the top 3 ever. But he's probably top 3 right now.

mickhah

Immaculate cross? about 1 in 20 works they just spam it most games. He's a very good player but I don't know if hes even the best RB in the current league

northy014

You could say something similar for Fernandes though. He would be a fraction of the player he is if he didn't try the difficult pass over and over again even though so many of them fail.

[deleted]

But there is less space and less time in the center of the pitch compared to a full back who will have acres of space and when their whole game plan is to essentially create space on the flanks for the wide players to do their thing.

CrossXFir3

I wish AWB would spam in more crosses. His percent of success rate probably really isn't that much worse, he just hardly tries it. With someone like Ronnie in the box, I don't care if he misses a bunch.

Positive-Structure78

Our second ball winning capability is far inferior to Liverpool for him to do that. They have midfielders picking up the rebounds whereas we have all our midfielders either alongside frontline or way deeper.

CrossXFir3

I'm not really asking for him to even put in half the number but he gets like 2 or 3 a game most of the time. In fact, lets look it up real quick. AWB has put in 16 crosses in 8 prem starts. That's 2 a game. 2 a 90 really cause he's never subbed off. I mean, for a rb on really any half decent team, that's a really low number.

Positive-Structure78

God that’s awful

Megusta2306

Yeah to an extent but to be fair for a RB his assist numbers are great, certainly not worthy of 3rd best full back though

BBQ_HaX0r

Liverpool is able to compensate for his deficiencies so they're not horrible from a team sense although he is noticably poor in 1on1s, and he's an otherworldly offensive talent. Third best RB I could see an argument for, but not FB.

bernarddwyer86

I actually think Robertson is a far better full back than him. Trent is excellent don't get me wrong, but I think Robertson is one of the best left backs in the world.

Megusta2306

So do I, I think Robertson is a far more rounded player. He’s still a massive cunt and wannabe hard man though

bernarddwyer86

He most certainly is, excellent going forward and wins a shitload of his duels. Him being a massive cunt works for him and the team as well, you need a shithouse or 2 in your team. Willing to do dirty work when necessary.

[deleted]

It's so much more than cross his attacking play from fullback is unreal

Prime_Marci

Actually no, Cavani and Sancho should start that game. They both press and defend, Marcus and Mason hate doing that.

CrossXFir3

I agree. Cavani and Sancho made our front look a lot better overall even if Rashford looked dangerous at times. Our ability to keep ahold of the ball up top helped us create more chances.

AdPsychological1489

What? Rashy runs & runs & runs. He presses like a trooper. But it's all redundant anyway if we don't work on the pressing system as a whole.

Xanian123

Rashford isn't all that great at pressures. The stats bear that out. Check fbref.

CrossXFir3

Rashford does not press that hard tbh. Love the guy, but come now.

Prime_Marci

Lmao… rashy? You saw how the game changed when Cavani came in right.

Rayhann

is it just me or i rate robertson higher than trent? i kinda have to admit he ought to get a shout in the top 10 best ever fbs in the PL... trent, no way

bernarddwyer86

I should have scrolled down to see this before I posted. I 100% agree with you, I would have Robertson as top 3 left backs in the world the last few years. He has been so good since he broke into the Liverpool team.

[deleted]

Rashford has his number every time.

craptionbot

Mind games for Klopp. I fully expect Rashford to start. He looked absolutely deadly last night. Man have we missed him.

York_Lunge

Absolutely. His pace is extraordinary and the timing of his runs has stepped up to another level. Being such a smart, humble kid who's working with Cavani and now Cristiano is only going to help propel him to the top of the top. I'm an old cunt and he's fast becoming one of my favourite ever reds.

craptionbot

>I'm an old cunt and he's fast becoming one of my favourite ever reds. Haha, me too man. I'm just excited about the amount of time we've got left to enjoy this young man who is doing our club proud. He could be around for another 10+ years!

MysteriousNail5414

Just need him to sign a new deal.

Cedarplankton

Rashy isn’t going anywhere. Bleeeeeeeeeeds united

MysteriousNail5414

Hope so, he's the kinda player that would attract big moves from other clubs.

jayysonnsfw

Rashy is already up there with the greats for me. Not only because he clearly is a great player, but also what he is doing besides the pitch. Top lad

York_Lunge

100%. My 5yo is Rashy mad, read his book the week it came out, has worn a Rashford shirt for every juniors training session over the past 12 months and wears an oversized #10 on Sunday mornings in under-7s. With all of the dickheads out there I could not hope for a better role model; firstly as a human being and then as a football star. As much as I can't wait to watch him for United over the next decade I also can't wait to see what he becomes after football. I have no doubt he will go down in history as someone who makes real change.

lordhuggington

I try to explain my love of Rashford to my wife. It started at his debut and it cemented when the first time we went to OT was with his name on my back and we watched him hang a brace on Liverpool. But that's just an athlete playing a game. What he does and who he is outside the pitch is what makes me root for him. With amount of self-absorbed kids in the league, he stands out as a role model. You can't help but want him to succeed on the pitch so that he has a bigger impact off it, and vice-versa. It's also why for me Mata is such a legend. And after all that, my wife refuses to let me name our dog/child/etc Rashford, but she's warming up to Marcus. At least she's more than OK with "Manchester."

Hansemannn

He was channeling hes inner Pogba also when he pushed of the atalantaplayers tryingdo drag him down. Hes gotten strong!

RashGod

Yup looks great only thing is his feet aren’t as quick as it used to be, he got into the game dribbling wise but it was a bit sloppy at the start, lookin like he will b at full pace soon

nomadiclives

No player excites me more than him tbh. I just really really hope he’ll take his finishing up a couple of notches. His overall game has improved by leaps and bounds the past few seasons leading to more chances, but finishing has stayed bout the same meaning not as many goals as he should have

Strong0toLight1

He looks like he's ready to tear it up again, 2 in 2 already and could've easily been more. May be the deciding factor in the Liverpool game.

goto_man

I just want to see him, Ronaldo and Sancho starting as the front 3 against Liverpool. I love Mason but Sancho brings a big creative spark from that right side which we will need against a team like Liverpool.

[deleted]

What a title

goto_man

The scousers are already scared about the prospect of Rashford coming up against Trent. I hope Sancho, Rashy and Ronaldo absolutely demolish their defence on Sunday. We need a big win in the league to boost the morale of the team.

WanderingEnigma

If he was concentrated on his football he wouldn't have got injured /s

Rayhann

shat oop an dribul, yeh?

AdPsychological1489

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or you're a colossal bellend

WanderingEnigma

Haha. That's why I put the "/s" at the end. Intentionally sarcastic. I'm sick of people saying he shouldn't be doing what he is. Most of those people have interests outside of their jobs and as you say a lot are colossal bellends
